The terrifying yet sadly amusing world of Wayne LaPierre

Coming to an America near you!!

Coming to an America near you!!

I am very, very grateful that I do not live in Wayne LaPierre’s world. Because as described in a new column by the NRA leader, that world is a scary place right out of a Mad Max movie:

“Meanwhile, President Obama is leading this country to financial ruin, borrowing over a trillion dollars a year for phony “stimulus” spending and other payoffs for his political cronies. Nobody knows if or when the fiscal collapse will come, but if the country is broke, there likely won’t be enough money to pay for police protection. And the American people know it.

Hurricanes. Tornadoes. Riots. Terrorists. Gangs. Lone criminals. These are perils we are sure to face—not just maybe. It’s not paranoia to buy a gun. It’s survival. It’s responsible behavior, and it’s time we encourage law-abiding Americans to do just that….

Responsible Americans realize that the world as we know it has changed. We, the American people, clearly see the daunting forces we will undoubtedly face: terrorists, crime, drug gangs, the possibility of Euro-style debt riots, civil unrest or natural disaster.

Since the election, millions of Americans have been lining up in front of gun stores, Cabela’s and Bass Pro Shops exercising their freedom while they still have it. They are demonstrating they have a mass determination to buy, own and use firearms. Millions of Americans are using market forces like never before to demonstrate their ardent support for our firearm freedoms. That’s one of the very best ways we can Stand And Fight.”

There’s a quivering, even pornographic quality to LaPierre’s description of the apocalypse that looms ahead. And isn’t it interesting that his recommended solution — BUY MORE GUNS!!! BUY MORE AMMO!!!! PANIC!! – just happens to dovetail with the best interests of his paid masters in the firearms industry.

As he puts it in his closing:

“We will not surrender. We will not appease. We will buy more guns than ever. We will use them for sport and lawful self-defense more than ever. We will grow the NRA more than ever. And we will be prouder than ever to be freedom-loving NRA patriots. And with your help, we will ensure that the Second Amendment remains America’s First Freedom.”

Not as terrifying as liberal LALA Land where Dorner’s followers cheered him on social media sites, and liberal professors appear on CNN and declare him a modern day Django. He should have changed his name to Djorner.

Sad thing about reading LaPierre’s rant and some of the commentary here is that those who are hunkering down and stockpiling arms against the apocalypse are the ones most likely to hasten its coming. They’re beinning to slowly become victims of their own paranoia. They’re so sure the apocalypse is coming and so angst-ridden that it hasn’t come yet that they end up snapping and going postal to release that paranoia and angst. I’m not worried as much about the “terrorists” or the “tyrrany” from the Evil Government, I’m scared to death of the increasing number of fools who are drunk on the kind of lunacy LaPierre spouts on a daily basis, and that is prosoletyzed by Limbaugh, Hannity, and Beck. I don’t how we stop that, but we need to get busy trying before more of these idiots become yet another sad headline.

Nancy Lanza was the epitome of what is wrong with the NRA and the gun hugger crowd. I guess she was prepping for the signal of impending doom from Glenn Beck end and not for the safety of her community. That’s where the right wing interpretation of the second amendment gets you.

Good article, Jay. I’m sure some Roman speaker was saying things like “these Gauls aren’t a threat’ in the same manner at about the forth century. I’m constantly amazed by the blindness of people that think the happy little bubble they live in will continue forever.

Let’s turn back the clock of time and reflect on the LA Riots after the Rodney King debacle. Remember the photos of looters running rampant in the streets? Remember, then NRA President, Charlton Heston being asked by his Liberal friends and neighbors to borrow a firearm to protect themselves and their property? Remember the Korean shop-owners on the roofs of their businesses with rifles and shotguns protecting themselves, their families and their businesses? Hmmmmm, how soon this nation forgets.

Nice that you won’t accept comments that don’t agree with your stupid opinions-typical liberal mindset.

I. Finger — “Since the Ten Commandments are still there the clear winner seems to be GOD…”

Again, since the case was dismissed, there’s no winner and no loser.

How can you speak of a winner and a loser in a court case when no hearing or trial was actually held?
