The terrifying yet sadly amusing world of Wayne LaPierre

Coming to an America near you!!

Coming to an America near you!!

I am very, very grateful that I do not live in Wayne LaPierre’s world. Because as described in a new column by the NRA leader, that world is a scary place right out of a Mad Max movie:

“Meanwhile, President Obama is leading this country to financial ruin, borrowing over a trillion dollars a year for phony “stimulus” spending and other payoffs for his political cronies. Nobody knows if or when the fiscal collapse will come, but if the country is broke, there likely won’t be enough money to pay for police protection. And the American people know it.

Hurricanes. Tornadoes. Riots. Terrorists. Gangs. Lone criminals. These are perils we are sure to face—not just maybe. It’s not paranoia to buy a gun. It’s survival. It’s responsible behavior, and it’s time we encourage law-abiding Americans to do just that….

gunmedia15n-1-web

Responsible Americans realize that the world as we know it has changed. We, the American people, clearly see the daunting forces we will undoubtedly face: terrorists, crime, drug gangs, the possibility of Euro-style debt riots, civil unrest or natural disaster.

Since the election, millions of Americans have been lining up in front of gun stores, Cabela’s and Bass Pro Shops exercising their freedom while they still have it. They are demonstrating they have a mass determination to buy, own and use firearms. Millions of Americans are using market forces like never before to demonstrate their ardent support for our firearm freedoms. That’s one of the very best ways we can Stand And Fight.”

There’s a quivering, even pornographic quality to LaPierre’s description of the apocalypse that looms ahead. And isn’t it interesting that his recommended solution — BUY MORE GUNS!!! BUY MORE AMMO!!!! PANIC!! – just happens to dovetail with the best interests of his paid masters in the firearms industry.

images-4

As he puts it in his closing:

“We will not surrender. We will not appease. We will buy more guns than ever. We will use them for sport and lawful self-defense more than ever. We will grow the NRA more than ever. And we will be prouder than ever to be freedom-loving NRA patriots. And with your help, we will ensure that the Second Amendment remains America’s First Freedom.”

Chris Dorner, corrupt cops of Atlanta, Kathryn Johnson, *vote for revenge,* *bring a gun to the fight*. Best advice came from Bobby Seale and Huey Newton in the 60’s
LaPierre was mocked for his suggestion that armed resource officers be present in schools. (That was in addition to his other suggestions on enforcement, violence, and mental health). The parents of kids in Sandy Hook School are also demanding armed resources, not for the remainder of the year only, but permanently.

Not sure where tanks, chemical weapons came from. I do not recall anybody endorsing those weapon under the 2nd amendment. I am all for focusing on gun violence and solving the problem we with have with innocent people being killed by idiots with guns. Doing the wrong thing however usually end up causing more problems than doing nothing. I would love to hear workable solutions that would deter or eliminate gun violence. Yes I have a gun, a 9mm semi automatic pistol. Doesn’t mean I endore mass murder or smart bombs in the home. This is a serious problem and I would prefer serious solutions. Not just name calling.

Well, for starters, I think you’re confusing showing an ID with actually procuring an ID. Showing an ID doesn’t cost one cent. Obtaining an ID, on the other hand, costs money.

Also, the very people who you claim don’t see the right to vote as not being guaranteed are the same ones that point to the amendments that state that the right to vote shall not be abridged by ……

Other than those two things, I think you were factually correct. In effect, that whole argument isn’t worth a stack of wooden nickles embedded in a termite mound.

To counter the complete BS about your “argument”, you fail to realize that an ID is shown when a voter is registered. There is no gun owner registration, so yeah, you should show an ID to get a firearm.

They all passed the background check. – Did you stand there and witness EVERY customer in line to verify that ALL of them passed?

Of course the check lasted about 2 seconds – Each time I purchased a firearm, the background check took about 30 min. Has ANYONE here had a background check that lasted less than 1 minute?

and who is to say the machine is working correctly or even turned on? – Yes, because a $3.83 BILLION company will risk their license to sell firearms in order to make +/-$100 profit by selling a firearm to someone WITHOUT performing the FEDERALLY MANDATED background check.

or the olympic runner that blew away his girlfriend (4 shots) thinking she was an intruder. – He lives in S. Africa. These laws would not affect him.

Also, S. Africa’s gun laws are stricter than ours.

“In South Africa, owning a gun is conditional on a competency test and several other factors, including background checking of the applicant, inspection of an owner’s premises, and licensing of the weapon by the police introduced in July 2004. The process is currently undergoing review,[1] as the police are at present, not able to adequately or within reasonable time, process either competency certification, new licenses or renewal of existing licenses. Minimum waiting period frequently exceeds 2 years from date of application.[2]”

“They seem to be doing something right.”

Do they still have the “broken window” program in place? I seem to recall the drop in murders being at least partly credited to that program of enforcement.

All – I’m not wishing, actively or otherwise, for Herr LaPierre’s death. But, he is a load who should have been swallowed and the world would be a better place without him in it. Just acknowledging that fact, is all.

I want a GAU-8_Avenger

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GAU-8_Avenger

The GAU-8 itself weighs 620 pounds (280 kg), but the complete weapon, with feed system and drum, weighs 4,029 pounds (1,828 kg) with a maximum ammunition load. It measures 19 ft 5 1⁄2 in (5.931 m) from the muzzle to the rearmost point of the ammunition system, and the ammunition drum alone is 34.5 inches (88 cm) in diameter and 71.5 inches (1.82 m) long.[5] Power for operating the gun is provided by twin 77 hp electric motors. The magazine can hold 1,174 rounds, although 1,150 is the typical load-out. Muzzle velocity when firing Armor-Piercing Incendiary rounds is 3,250 feet per second (990 m/s).

Because, I should have the right to any weapon I want, right?

If you plan on carrying a firearm outside of the home for personal protection in Georgia you must be fingerprinted and undergo a background check to be issued a Georgia Firearms License.

Actually, I just believe that is for concealed carry. You can carry in the open with no permit. The law may have changed though.

So sad that there are some Americans who call shooting an assault weapon “a sport that I enjoy” — a sport, REALLY?? When was shooting assault weapons added to the sporting events for our Olympics? I missed that announcement.

Michelle Obama recently attended the funeral of a young 15 year old girl murdered by gunfire in a city within a state that’s among states with the most restrictive gun laws in the nation. The city where this young girl was killed has the highest incidents of gun violence in the nation. Yes it’s Chicago Illinois.

Well, that’s what Rudy 9/11! would have you believe.

I am coming around to putting more stock in the lead poisoning theory, actually.

I’m willing to bet that 99% of those who bought guns have never heard of Wayne LaPierre.

I’d take you up on your bet but I just learned that 98% of people who make claims about betting that 99% know [X] are just pulling out of the butt of a strawman. #pullingmadeupstatisticsoutofyourbuttstrawman

TBG: The PERSON firing the weapon decides what it is used for.

So what? Does that mean we should trust the public with fully automatic weapons with no regulation, as an example? After all, it is the people who decide what it is used for. Interestingly enough, even Reagan didn’t agree with this viewpoint of trusting the people as much as you do when you say it’s all about people deciding what to use something for.

So reading comments from the left, If you beat them, kill them.

“I for one would not be in the least bit upset were I to learn that Herr LaPierre walked smack dab into the path of a flying bullet, hopefully fired by another card-carrying member of the NRA.”

How intelligent is that.
