That’s good to know but we sure can’t tell by what you write!

If that’s true, cite when I did state or imply that Republicans are inherently more corrupt. Again, I disagree strongly with what the GOP has become in recent years, and have not refrained from saying so. But that doesn’t mean I believe that they are any more, or less, susceptible to temptation.

I’ve never posted this before, and I won’t again, but here’s what I wrote in a column to fellow liberals back when Bill Clinton’s affair first hit the news:

“If this were a Republican president, what would we be doing?

We’d all be screaming for his head, that’s what.

We’d be pointing out that here was a man in power who had used a young intern like a soulless receptacle, who had reduced his secretary to little more than a procuress, who had clearly pressured that secretary to lie under oath and who had weakened the presidency to conceal a lie.

To support Clinton despite all that requires us to repudiate what we once claimed to believe about the way men and women should treat each other in the workplace. At the very least we have to pretend that such misbehavior isn’t really a big deal, that it’s all right to use a woman as long as the woman wants to be used.

So let’s talk now about those two lofty questions.

If politics is just a struggle for power between our gang and their gang, and if principle is simply a convenient hammer to pound on the other guy’s head, then we ought to defend Clinton with every means available. After all, he’s our guy and they’re attacking him, in ways that are clearly unfair.

But what if politics is something more than that? What if politics is a means of producing a better society, a more decent society? What if principles are more than just weapons to use against bad guys?

By continuing to support Clinton, we place ourselves in the hypocritical position of demanding a higher standard of behavior from our enemies than we do from our friends. Someday, believe it or not, this is all going to end. And I’m afraid that on that glorious day, we’ll look back and realize that the price we paid to save Clinton just wasn’t worth it.”

After our votes are counted, our interests are so subordinated its a joke. All we get is knee jerk, shallow crap sold in soundbites…

And yet the same jackasses get re-elected, so who’s really the fool in this case?

Deal appointed a state Senator to a post within the government. So what, this is not something new to politics and if you think it is then you are a FOOL. Obama just appointed his friend Senator John Kerry to be the Secretary of State. Another so what it is what politicians do.

The good part of the appointment is it made a flaming lib resign. Anytime we can get a far leftest out of the bureaucracy it is a good day. I am glad Deal is finally following through with what I suggested to him on the square in Marietta 2 years ago. Clean all libs out of state government.

Are you claiming to be a scientist ?

If so please tell me you aren’t teaching in our public schools.

In 1994, according to a leaked memo, the Republican strategist Frank Luntz advised members of the Republican Party, with regard to climate change, that “you need to continue to make the lack of scientific certainty a primary issue” and “challenge the science” by “recruiting experts who are sympathetic to your view.”[9] In 2006, Luntz stated that he still believes “back [in] ‘97, ‘98, the science was uncertain”, but he now agrees with the scientific consensus.[41]

This one is a no brainer. I guess that’s why you dont get it.

For anyone that has actually ever actually shot a shotgun, the way Obama is holding the firearm in the picture pretty much tells the story. He’s done little if any shooting in his life. They (his handlers) must have rushed him out to Camp David or wherever to get the picture in time for his “campaign” this week against guns and he wasn’t given much time with an experienced shooter to prepare. This man knows that his liberal base so blinded he can basically tell them or show them anything and they will believe it. What he seems not to be able to grasp is that 50%of this country doesn’t believe anything he says or does and for good reason. He is a media created leader built upon images, not substance.

Sure, if it were a Republican “scientist” (there’s an oxymoron for ya) because he would hold the thermometer upside down in his Georgia backyard in August and proclaim that the temperature is dropping therefore there is no global warming. Then again, they also believe that since we still have winters here on earth, there can be no global warming.

Chip Rogers was a pain in Deals butt to accomplish his agenda so instead of him being a back beach bomb thrower for the next two years he decided to appoint him to a post in state government to keep his mouth shut. Same way Obama appointed Hillary to be Sec of State. He wanted her out of the country during his first term so that the media would not be asking her opinion about every move he was making.

This is called politics.

DIA, Jay has said exactly the opposite, he is far more neutral than I am or would be in his position. His job is to report and comment on what he sees, and quiet frankly he may be one of a handful that actually does something call journalism in this state.

When New Orleans lost its seven day a week paper the worry there was who is going to represent the eyes and ears of the people. These voices are getting weaker and the political power structures stronger. Some people like it that way but to me somewhere we are a country flying blind, no longer a democracy and a one party system is a good way there as it is.

You have the right to listen to Jay and still agree with your elected leaders, his truths are pretty transparent and I only hope you find the leaders to be half as much. I didn’t like the way Democrats acted when they were in power and I don’t like the bullies in office now, but that’s just me. I happen to disagree very strongly with the modern Republican Party on just about everything that it does. Those are honest policy disagreements as well as disagreement about its basic no-compromise governing style, which I find dangerous. I make no apologies for any of that, and I express those differences in policy terms.

However, I don’t believe I have ever said or implied that Republicans are somehow inherently more corrupt than Democrats, because I do not believe that is true and never have.

By: Howard Galganov, Canadian writer December 14, 2012

I was just about to publish my latest editorial… on Canada’s Supreme Court decision to suspend Freedom of Speech in favor of promoting one language over all others. THEN THE CONNECTICUT SCHOOL SHOOTINGS HAPPENED.

What happened at Sandy Hook School takes precedence over any language issues in Canada and a failed Judicial System in both our countries.

I won’t waste words describing my feelings, because how I feel is indescribable about 27 people murdered, (20 young children and six adults at the school),the murder of the shooter’s mother beforehand, then the cowardly suicide of the shooter at the school as law enforcement closed in.

BUT I CAN TELL YOU WITH CERTAINTY WHY IT HAPPENED:

It didn’t happen because of the so-called gun culture, or because of poor security at the school. It happened because of the modern LEFTIST culture that has been busy removing all semblance of personal responsibility and respect from our lives.

It happened because of the Hollywood and television types who lecture the Conservatives on how people should live, while they make FORTUNES producing absolute FILTH and VIOLENCE in their movies, videos and television programs.

It happened because of reality TV shows that demean humanity, along with shows that make people laugh at the pain and humiliation of others.

The senseless murders happened because multi-millionaire computer game producers create UGLY digital scenarios that poison young minds with abject depravity and gratuitous violence.

It happened because the school system doesn’t teach values, and promotes the idea that ‘anything goes.’ And that all people are equal, regardless of the truth. And that no one ever fails.

It happened because LEFTISTS won’t allow concerned and loving parents to discipline their children, or raise their children in the time-honored way they feel is right.

It happened because far too many Liberals spend their time and effort ridiculing and attacking the people who want to live by the lessons of the Bible and the Torah.

In truth, this and other horrible acts of violence happen because our society– from the entertainment industry to schools to the media and to our governments– have created the social and cultural foundation that is eating away at both Canada and the United States like a cancer.

I know that what I am writing will inflame those on the LEFT, but that’s OK– because if they don’t like it, they can ROT in HELL along with the demons and losers of their own creation. I want my old country’s values back.

Values like standing in school when an adult entered the room. Like being seriously disciplined for bad behavior. Like when we were measured by our successes and failures. When not everyone had to waste years of his or her life going to college to study basket weaving instead of taking a trades course or going to work or the service right after high school. When your Mom was a caring woman and your Dad was a real man, an authority in the home. And when there weren’t vulgar parades extolling the “virtues” of being gay.
If you want to stop the sickness . . . IT’S TIME TO STOP THE LEFT.

In sadness . . . Howard Galganov

Republican party- “Rape is a good thing. Without rape, we wouldn’t have all these beautiful children that we don’t want to help feed or clothe. Why should you abort a child just because you were raped? Why not keep that child or give it to a loving couple that enjoys rape just as much as your rapist did? Besides, if it was a legitimate rape, you wouldn’t have gotten preggers in the first place. You want birth control? Just put an aspirin between your knees” (smirk)

American Voting Women said – “What The F………”

Republicans have absolutely NO idea what they’re talking about most of the time. Sometimes they can sound sincere and helpful; but those other times, when they sound ignorant and arrogant, those are the doozies.

Republican Men And Rape– If they are so in awe of rape, they should join their local prisons and/or penitentiaries, slap Big Earl or Big Mac in the face, and see what happens.

If its legimate rape, their bodies will shut that sucker down.

stands…I get it…my assessment is a bit rough…I agree with the boy scouts…leave it better than you found it”…I just think a lot of folks over sensationalize the power of man (again, not aimed at you)….when the earthquake tsunami hit Japan and destroyed the reactors most here and in particular Cynthia Tucker said…”you can’t manage mother nature”…in other words we are powerless against such an opponent, but we can fix global warming…I am convinced we don’t know enough to make minor changes much less sweeping one…I just ask we study it, openly debate it (instead of shouting down the opposing opinion)…it’s a process…and even if it as bad as TaxPayer thinks…another couple years of scrutiny to better understand the issue is warrented…it’s a drop in time….and that’s what we’re talking about

You seem to be tarring the entire GOP flock with the idiotic statements of a couple…perhaps it has since become party dogma but I haven’t seen it yet.

I thought I was being subtle! Dangit!

Nobody needs to get into a womans reproduction glands unless invited. But to paint all with the brush of one or two particular dumbasses is not bona fide IMO.

Well, you know that’s the funny part Stevie. When the MEN have a chance to stand up for whats right and say what you’ve just said above OR to vote NO to ridiculous invasive intrusion into a woman’s body for the sake of “helping said woman” — they don’t seem to be able to do that!

That makes a lot of women think, justly i might add, that they TALK a good game, but when its time to ACT, they are strangely silent.

What speaks louder than words? Action perhaps? The republican males, especially those in Congress and at the State Level who are making up these laws, have been quiet.

It is easy to say it’s all our fault..we can be heard at ballot box but IMO the situation suggests the opposite.

How is the situation the opposite? Are you of the opinion that most voters are too dumb to form their own opinions and merely vote based on the shiny objects that are shown on tv? I tend to think that there are many who are capable of thinking on their own.

The reason why a very large majority of congressional seats are uncontested is due to money.

Bull hockey!!!! Most seats run uncontested because of the makeup of the districts. What politician is going to run in a district where his voter base is less than 40% of the eligible voters?

I no longer “buy” the argument that its up to us to make changes “from the outside”.

Well, if you’re whining that you can’t do it without the money, how else are you going to make the change? The system doesn’t work without the voter. It doesn’t matter if a candidate spends $5 or $5 billion. Without actual living and breathing people casting a vote for them, their spending is worthless.

Hmmm. This is getting philosophical…if you choose, you can choose to defend what one party contends is indefensible and prove their position flawed. You can avoid a forced sneak attack and the video of your hiding, regardless of whether the position is indefensible or not…or if subsequent debate results in all in agreement that position is acceptable. Unfortunately, corrections are NEVER front page news…generally found in small type in back…

I’m not whining there big daddy. Its all nice and patriotic but reality is it’s money that talks. Most voters aren’t dumb but apathetic. Why bother is the norm…I do think the vast majority of voters never change allegiance and simply use talking points to shout the opponents down.

And yes, it may take a few tries to turn the 40% into a majority but it can be done. It will take money.

Spending is not worthless..if that were true, why do members of the House spend 30% of their time raising money?

Nothing will change Bro, that is until the private money is eliminated from the equation at all levels. Then and only then IMO will competition be generated for most seats and our ability to effect change has any traction.

Most people have not seen a late-term partial birth abortion.

What “WE” all have seen are STARVING, NEGLECTED, ABUSED children.

“YOU” should be more CONCERNED about those children that are living and

need “OUR” help.

When was the last time you HELPED a STARVING, NEGLECTED, ABUSED child?

First of all, we should withdraw ALL government funding from Public Broadcasting. Period. Elmo makes hisself $200 million a year without it.

That said, so what if he got a job? There aren’t enough around even now after four years of save-the-planet O’bozo.

And I’m guessing that the pols in DC will have to make that decision on their own too, huh? It will take the efforts and pushing of voters to get that to happen. Hence, my position that the power of voters trumps the power of money. The only reason we haven’t seen change yet is because the people with the power to push such a message don’t give a sh*t about that message.

“I don’t shoot much, but I thought when you shoot skeet, you yell “pull” and shoot it way up in the air”

In case you didn’t know…and it appears you don’t…skeet shooting is, essentially, training for shooting birds that “bust” out of cover. They don’t ALWAYS fly straight up, so to hone your skills you set the artificial target to “fly” at different angles. It’s just a tad hard to hit a low flying bird with your gun pointed “way up in the air”

Which one of the progressives on the blog are going to come out in favor of this global warming approach?

“Want to reduce the effects of global warming? Stop working so hard. Working fewer hours might help slow global warming, according to a new study released Monday by the Center for Economic Policy and Research.

A worldwide switch to a “more European” work schedule, which includes working fewer hours and more vacation time, could prevent as much as half of the expected global temperature rise by 2100, according to the analysis, which used a 2012 study that found shorter work hours could be associated with lower carbon emissions.

The Center for Economic Policy and Research is a liberal think tank based in Washington.”

Well, Telecommuting will help as well. The more people can work remotely, the less they have to drive, or even move cities when a job opens up.
I see telecommuting as one of the major factors in reducing individual energy usage. Next is finding ways to streamline energy for all those electrons beaming back and forth over the interwebs and stuff.

Values like standing in school when an adult entered the room. Like being seriously disciplined for bad behavior. Like when we were measured by our successes and failures.

Well, glad that Canada guy got it all out of his system. There’s nothing like whaling the tar out of a kid to show him how much you love and care about him. Why, I remember teachers that use to spend summer days fashioning new paddles with holes drilled in them to make it hurt more.

Or maybe there’s some people that have just spent too many days on this earth and need to move on to the next world. I pray just about every night that one of them don’t get to be in charge of us here on earth. I got enough a-holes that like to show me how much they love and care about me. I don’t need more.

Have a good night everybody.
