Well, I didn’t read his rant – only the part you quoted. I agree that more welfare money is spent on whites, so if you interpreted him correctly then your post is a good correction. I just didn’t read all of that into what you quoted. In any case, both of our points are factually correct.

That’s true. But whites also pay substantially more into the system. And as far as the welfare rolls go the number I use to see was that whites constituted 38% of welfare recipients, blacks 37%, Hispanics 20%, and the rest was others. So as a % of their respective populations there are significantly more blacks and Hispanics on welfare than whites.
Kayaker’s perception seems to be that for the most part then that white America is paying out much more money as a whole to minorities in the form of transfer payments. And judging from the numbers it looks like he’s right. Its just an uncomfortable truth that people don’t like. Another uncomfortable truth would probably be that gays, Asians, Jews, and probably some other minorities pay disproportionately much more into the system to subsidize lazy white people.

Always interesting that those who have publicly tried to actually live on what people are paid by TANF have indicated how difficult it is, but, overwhelmingly, the cons on this blog are able to do it day in and day out and have a surplus.

The best thing going would be a gazillion man/woman march on Washington DC with threats of dividing up this country into something that each of the recipients could accept. Sedition? I think not…. but it might just show those in power how serious this has become. We cannot go on this way. Our legislators from both parties, have let this country slide into the muck and at least half of the electorate will not tolerate this crap. We presently have what Jefferson warned about. Prove that Whites pay more into the system. Just as there are more Whites collecting welfare dollars, there are more Whites who get their income from sources that are not hit with FICA and other payroll taxes that help fund welfare programs. The whole notion of Whites paying more appears to be an assumption based on population numbers. What I have yet to see is factual proof.

I saw something funny a couple of years ago that once I started to observe it I found it to be true. Michelle Malkin I think was ranting about how in our culture and especially in television commercials that its always the white guy in a commercial that gets made to look like a dope, an idiot, or a fool when the commercial has mixed company. She said it was especially so in beer commercials. So I started watching and noticed that damn if that woman wasn’t right.
Almost any commercial that you see where there is a white and a black guy or several guys of mixed company and someone is made to look like an idiot it will always be the white guy if its just one black guy and one white guy or it will always be one of the white guys that is made to look like a dolt if its a group of guys.
So when you watch all the Superbowl commercials this Sunday and you see a multicultural group in a beer or other commercial and someone gets made to look like a dolt you can damn well bet it will be the white guy.

You’re a math guy and this isn’t even math. Its just basic common sense. If whites comprise roughly 73% of the overall population but about 37% of the welfare population than they are paying significantly more into the system to benefit other groups. Conversely if blacks for example are 13% of the population but comprise 37% of the welfare population then its just common sense that as a group they are collectively getting much more out of the system than what they are paying into it.
The reasons why these numbers are what they are is a whole other debate.
And to be sure with the recent economic downturn starting in 07 I would venture to guess that of all the new entrants into welfare that many more whites now make up the welfare rolls than in years past relative to their % of the population. The numbers I cited are old. I wouldn’t be surprised if whites now accounted for 45% or more of welfare recipients and blacks now constituted a lower number like 25 or 30%. Haven’t checked in awhile.

I never thought about it till I saw her rant. Then I started to notice how right she was- especially regarding beer commercials. It will virtually always be a white guy or one of the white guys that gets made to look like a dolt. I can’t say I blame them. We live in a hyper sensitive culture regarding treatment of minorities. If you had 3 or 4 guys in a beer commercial and the one black guy is the one made to look like a fool then the automatic assumption is that the company or the commercial is racist. And what corporation out there is going to take a chance on being remotely perceived as racist?

I kinda wondered about that father in the VW commercial. I didn’t see anything racial about it just because the father was white. What I couldn’t understand is how they could put a guy in a commercial that could possibly throw the ball so poorly. Saying that he threw that baseball “like a girl” is an insult to little girls everywhere. I would venture to say my 7 year old niece could throw that ball better than that sorry goofball. Still can’t figure out how the guy could throw a ball so crappy like.

Exactly. And why do that to sell a car in the first place? They want to interject humor perhaps, but I didn’t find it funny at all (because it was so unrealistic as you point out). Conclusion: the “joke” is the white guy.

I was with you for a bit on the commercials but then it dawned on me that just about all groups in commercials are portrayed as idiots! It ain’t called the boob tube for nothing.
I’m another white guy who does not feel aggrieved… I just do what I do –

Trust me. It aint nothing to get worked up about. Its just an interesting observation that I never realized until Malkin fumed about it and then I started paying attention to it.
Now when you have groups that are all alike as in 5 black guys of course someone is going to get made to look like a dolt. I’m just talking about in mixed company it will always be the white guy that gets made to look like a dolt.
Now when I think of black men being made to look like a dolt I think of those Cedric the entertainer commercials from a few years ago. Hell I’m laughing right now thinking of the one where he is dancing while his gf is in the port o pottie.
