Why does GOP have an image as party of white males?
Maybe this could help explain it.
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, here’s what Georgia looks like, broken down demographically:
Male, 48.9 percent
Female, 51.1 percent
White non-Hispanic, 55.5 percent
Black, 31 percent
Hispanic or Latino, 9.1 percent
Asian, 3.4 percent
Under age 40: 56.7 percent

This post began a few weeks ago, when I noticed that the Senate had named only one woman, Renee Unterman, as a committee chair in 2013. I immediately realized why that might be: Unterman is the sole Republican woman in the 56-seat chamber.
The gender numbers are a little better in the Georgia House, where 17 of 117 Republicans are women. But if that’s your bragging point …

most African Americans would argue that abortion and gay marraige is wrong yet they support a party that thinks its ok.
Is that really something that Charlize Theron says and/or supports? I can’t speak for African-Americans, but this melanin enhanced American here would argue that people have the freedom to request medical procedures all day, especially when their decision is a private one. I would also argue that I don’t care about gay marriage as two men or women getting married does not have any effect to the daily activities under my roof. That’s just my opinion, and it was formed independent of any party affiliation.

We taped it. When our preacher saw the tape and saw what I looked like in drag, he remarked that he had never seen an uglier woman in his life and if he ever did he’d shoot her to keep her from procreating (he was kidding of course)! That is how men relate often to each other, ROFL.

That may be, but it is hard to imagine why the vast majority of deeply religious people of ANY race would feel the same way, given the clear and express prohibitions against homosexuality in the Bible. It is not so much a condemnation of people who sin in this way as a godly desire not to advocate for it in a legislative way. It’s one thing to support (or maybe just vote for one person over another as the lesser of two evils) a candidate who has done wrong in his past; it is another to support one who advocates everyone should be able to legally do this or that wrong. Now I get that a good many blacks may think as you do – but 90%? It would seem to me they are not thinking for themselves as you say you have.

I agree. It is a lamentable situation. On the one hand, women really WANT to be attractive to me. On the other hand, they are up against impossible stereotypes in the form of retouched and perfectly staged photographic images. I grew up in the Baptist Church, and if there’s one lesson I remember is that I have to atone for my sins and my sins alone. I can’t atone for anyone else nor can any other person absolve me of my sins. I can’t or won’t try to answer for all Black Americans because I have no idea of their motivations or ideals either. The Black community is just as diverse as the White community. Focusing on 90% is a wild goose chase. Some are diehard Democratic supporters while others simply refuse to support the current GOP. Trying to lump them all as thinking alike is just as wrong as claiming all White people are racist.

Fair enough, but I don’t think that is what I was doing in my post here (though I probably have to some extent in earlier posts months ago). I was just extrapolating from myself. The PRINCIPLE reason I am a “conservative” is because of my strong belief in and adherence to the Bible. For that reason I am equally against adultery and divorce as I am against homosexuality. You see, there are sins that one fall into occasionally that don’t represent a practice of any sort. Then there are sins that do. I make a big deal of sexual sins because I think God does in the Bible (emphasis HIS). And I think He does because they are destructive to society itself. Adultery, for instance, destroys families and really messes up kids. It is very, very wrong. And yet it has been decriminalized in America – not a big deal. AG has touched upon the situation women are often faced with in having to look good. Imagine what wives feel having to compete with retouched pornographic images of other women! It’s bad. It ruins relationships. I could go, but I think you probably get my point.

OK – Well, like most liberals, you apply a quantitative measurement to an ideological one. The fact that someone’s skin color or sex precludes them from being conservative is somehow a numerical equation, or some secret conspiracy, and not a matter of choice. People just aren’t smart enough to choose their views, so it must be done for them, by applying a statistical model based on raw population metrics.
Also interesting that 35% of the GA Democratic caucus is comprised of black women, and 42% are black men, vs. approx.16%/15%, respectively, of the state’s populace. Certainly sounds like we could use some further ‘inclusion’ within the Dem ranks – or perhaps they wouldn’t be welcomed?

1) The total actual “battle deaths” in ALL of America’s wars is approximately 650,000.
2) Up through the Korean War those were almost exclusively white males.
3) The Vietnam War, Gulf War and War on Terror accounts for about 50,000 of that 650,000 figure.
Even then about 85% of those killed in action were white.
4) That means about 642,000 of the 650,000 killed in battle where white males.

Could have something to do with how districts are drawn. In order to guarantee some black Representatives, people (perhaps Democrats, since they seem to like affirmative action, also known as racial quotas) decided to draw districts so that there were several that were majority black.
That means the other districts didn’t have those black people, they mostly had white people.

Tell you what, if all you liberals really gave two sh**s about black people, then you would make ending the war on drugs the top priority. Nothing else has done as much damage to the black community over the last several decades. And it simply is not all the GOP, the Democrats share equally in this injustice.
And Obama, a black man who used to smoke a lot of pot, laughs when people ask him to do something about this most evil and unjust system. He’s a hypocrite who allowed people to think he would do something about the drug war so he could get votes, but once elected he dropped any semblance of caring about justice or doing the right thing.
Although I consider myself libertarian, I’m sure many of the liberals on here will paint me as hard right simply for having a different opinion than them. But I’m telling you, if ending the evil that is the drug war is not one of your top political issues, then you are racist scum, because NOTHING else hurts the black community as much, and so many problems (not all problems, mind you, I’m not saying that) that the poor of all races face in this country could be solved by ending this horrible injustice.

Well until after the war started, that is not why they were fighting. I’m sure an intelligent man as yourself is aware of this fact.
As for just posting numbers: “Figures don’t lie, but liars figure”.
Raw numbers without anything else can be very misleading and I’m sure you are aware of that as well.
