I have never been to a Tea Party meeting but have followed the pronouncements of one of their most vocal advocates, former Rep. West (R-FL). – Are you saying, the words of 1 person speak for millions (most of which NEVER voted for him)?

From what I have learned from him relative to his speeches and actions, it speaks volumes about their direction. – So a tea party group in Montana, that didn’t elect or vote for him, is saddled with the words of some one they may disagree with? You do realize there are several tea party groups, right?

If you believe the Tea Party is not about destroying the government, why would they continue to vote against the debt ceiling when it is an action created by voting for spending and now do not want to pay for the spending they creating in a legislative action. – One does not equal the other. There is a possibility that the debt ceiling mess is one that BOTH sides are using for political gain. After all, the debt ceiling has ALWAYS been raised when needed. In the meantime BOTH sides use emotionally charged rhetoric to bash the other side.

The USA is the largest single economy in the world and if our economy is wrecked, or, the world perceives problems with our economy, the rest of the economies of the world will be wrecked. Does that not sound like anarchy? – No, is sounds like emotionally charged talking points. There was and is NO chance of that happening.

The question one would have to ask is, what does the Tea Party hope to accomplish by wrecking the economy? – See my answer above.

You have not done your homework.
It appears you have majored in English and do not have a clue as to how either one of those programs work.

Social Security has an easy fix that would not hurt the low to middle class worker; raise the limit on Social Security taxes from $109,000 to $218,000. This means those that make more than $109,000 up to $218,000 will continue to pay 7% for taxes, after that nothing.

The actuarial community indicates this will give the trust fund enough money to last for more than 100 years. And, you should be aware, the USA borrows 40% of its debt from the trust fund, so, insuring its solvency helps us out until we can get out this deficit position.

Second, Medicare is needed because our cost of health care currently consumes 20% of Gross Domestic Product (GDP). If we remained on the current path, all our taxes would go to the military and health care.

Medicare gives us the ability to manage our health care costs – to an extent – by providing a single pay system and keeping control of drug costs.

“dang those “environmental controls”, real “patriots” want air like a smoker breathes… like the air in Beijing.” – Yep, that’s an intelligent response. Next…….

“The tea party does not even know how government works and failed to stand up when w blew out our deficit.” Yep, another intelligent response. Tea party doesn’t know how government works…an oversized government IS the problem, that’s what they see. Oh, yea, let’s keep blaming W for all of the woes in this country…….sheesh!

It happened around 2:15 a.m. Saturday in the 1100 block of South Mozart Street in Lawndale. Ronnie Chambers, 34, was shot in the head and died at the scene, according to police and the medical examiner’s office.

Chambers, a convicted felon and reputed Gangster Disciple gang member, was the fourth sibling in his family to die a violent death, according to the police. His other siblings also died from gunshot wounds, a police source said.

Chambers had 29 arrests and four convictions, including multiple felonies for drug dealing and weapons violations, according to another source.”

We hosted three little girls for a play date this afternoon, so I let my wife handle the supervision and I went to watch 0 Dark 30. The Republicans prior to the election were concerned the movie would be a plug for Obama but actually the opposite was true. Obama and his administration as depicted in the movie were bit players if even that. The heroine was a female CIA analyst who tirelessly worked to connect the dots that pinpointed UBL’s location in Pakistan. Enhanced interrogations were largely responsible for collecting much of the intelligence that identified the courier. Lots of drama as you would expect from a movie but the producers stick by their story that it was CIA sources who provided the inside information that was the basis for this movie. The movie does nothing to dispel my prior conclusion that Obama was convinced that if he did not green light the operation his political career stood a good chance of being crushed should it have come out that he failed to act. Given the outcome he would have been crushed had he failed to acted. It’s obvious why the left doesn’t wish to speak much about this movie.

Jackie, my response is a poor one..empirically and with personal experience one can get medicare to pay for virtually any test, necessary or not, private insurance companies have many checks and balances..You want a Head CT payed for by BCBS, the “provider”" better be ready to clear the test with a retired orthopedist…Don’t laugh-it’s happened. Medicare, on the other hand rarely questions tests.As for the VA, patients complain all the time about the waits and since the VA communicates with the outside MD’s so poorly, many tests are repeated.. I do NOT have any “hard” data and would not believe the data if it were available on googol”read “the noise and the signal”..I know this is a week argument, but I do believe it has merit..

Folks VA healthcare is not, say again is not the gold standard or even close in healthcare. The good news for those who care Bethesda and Walter Reed (Walter Reed has been recently closed) are/were the gold standard in caring for vet’s wounded in combat, while on active duty. Active duty care has always been great and continues to be. The VA not so much.

It truly appears that you are working with data that is not valid which makes your arguments suspect.

You can check any medical organization in the USA and I think you will get the same answers about the VA medical system.

Yes, it is overloaded because we have so many wounded soldiers returning from Iraq/Afghanistan. Many wounded today would not have lived during previous times because our medical advances have been so profound.

Be that as it may, the VA still gets their patients in and out as quickly as they can, given the budget constraints that have been placed on them.

Medicare is one of the largest health care systems in the USA.
If we compare the relative efficiency of the Medicare system, what parameters do we use to make that comparison to other system in the USA?
Is a valid comparison to the number of patients valid?; is the comparison to be made to the cost of medical care provided by the members of each medical care organization valid?; are the results of the procedures the most important parameter?

Pick any parameter that you choose to use so that a valid comparison of Medicare’s efficiency to any other health care company can be made. Using those input parameters, we can determine which ones spends less per patient for the care received.

“Youi have proof that he illegally voted…”

Nope.

He just fit the O’bozo voter profile is all.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++

So you just lied as usual. Which makes you a liar. I see. How proud you must be to be a liar. It really advances your cause.

If your cause is so just, why do you have to be a no good stinking liar to advance it? I don’t understand. How does that make you better than the folks you are lying about?

Wow another hate filled angry rant from the bully of the blog. One would think when a bully gets punched in the nose enough then they would change their attitude.

Say what you want ass clown. A poster once told Keep up the good fight that he banged his wife and had the pictures. I called him on that trash and I got banned for a few days. I don’t really care what you “interpret” that to be, it doesn’t alter the facts. Have I invited you lately to bite me? If not consider the invitation extended.

I teach MY daughter to read and comprehend the written word. Apparently your parents didn’t do the same. I’m proud of the results. She not only can read and comprehend, but she also can spot ass clowns as well.

More hate from the bully of the blog. If you teach you daughter as to how you act then as Rand Paul said to Hillary “I would have relieved you of your duties”.

@Fred

If I remember correctly, you said previously that you were in Iraq and you were either attached to or a member of the 1st Cav.

And, that you thought the 1st Cav was “kind of sorry.” If that is correct, does not speak well of you and what the military historians say as the unit was put together to employe the air mobility concept ;used by the Marines. And, whenever there was troops that were needed to be placed into battle quickly during Viet Nam, Gen. Westmoreland called on the 1st Cav and the 101st Airborne along with Marine attachments, whom the Cav transported Check with Recon and see if he was not attached to the Cav when he was in I Corps.

Can you refute that?

Best explanation of modern progressive thought process that I think I have ever seen.

If you are taught bitterness and anger, then you will believe you are a victim. You will feel aggrieved and the twin brother of aggrievment is entitlement. So now you think you are owed something and you don’t have to work for it and now you’re on a really bad road to nowhere because there are people who will play to that sense of victimhood, aggreivement and entitlement, and you still won’t have a job.” ~ Condaleeza Rice

The military has improved its military medical experience tremendously because of the Viet Nam experience.

Many wounded warriors today are wounded instead of KIA because the military has learned to treat them within that magic hour.

Civilian medicine has been improved because of the advances made with the trauma of war, especially that of ER patients.

The military medical system has it own set of problems, just like the civilian medical system has problems of its own. On a comparative basis, the VA system is more adept at treating the common injury than those of private hospitals because the military requires them to follow combat related procedures. Civilian hospitals are better at specialties than military hospitals.

The good thing about our current system is the civilian and military medical treatment systems work together to come up with more comprehensive and effective treatment.

@Fred, , did your daughter come up with ass clown, I’m sure she did not, let us hope that you do not teach her your typed word..or “bite me”…goodness man, really intelligent, masculine stuff, It’s obvious you can’t discuss a subject without using childish expressions and adolescent remarks, you and td “punching in the nose” on a typed blog, odd, very odd. Are you two so impotent in your jobs or overall life that you have to “punch people in the nose” on an anonymous blog, sad… not worth anymore thought..

@Jaackie, can’t follow your reasoning, other nations vs US, or Medicare vs other medical systems…? In reality, I do not know that data, what I tried to tell you was an empiric experience of someone who deals with both on a daily basis.. May not be helpful, but that is all I have.. thanks and goodnight

@ Fred, one more thing, go to sleep, get some rest, you may or may not realize it but you get way to engaged in this blog…You’re staring at a 2 mental screen and cussing people out, ..go to sleep…e

Jackie,

I spent a couple of months in our health care system and the only complaint I had was the bill. I was treated very well by all doctors, nurses, technicians and they saved my life.

It is strange that you can’t follow my reasoning when you said that the VA system was not too good and the Medicare system had its own sets of problems. You went on to say that if you had a specific type of disease you would go to a hospital in Chantilly, VA.

I then came back and said that if one wanted to make a valid comparison, what criteria would be used for that criteria. Were my definitions ambiguous or were the criteria one that did not fit your reasoning?

My goodness, throw the rock then hide your hand.

@getalife

The health care system in the USA is world-class; however, the dollars we spend for our health care far exceeds that of the other 7 largest industrial countries of the world.

It appears to me, if we had a single payor system – putting all insured into a single pool – our costs would be lower and if we opened up more seats in our medical schools at a lesser price, it would help the situation tremendously.

Many doctors come out of school with student aid bills exceeding $500,000. They can’t survive because we can’t afford to pay them.

Jackie,

Yes, I believe gop governors not participating will cause ObamaCare to fail and there is only one option left.

Single payer. We will join the rest of the civilized countries.

If the GOP governors fail to implement the Exchange as part of “Obamacare,” the citizens of those states, including those who voted for those governors, will revolt.

Health care cost currently consume 20% of GDP and is the fastest growing component of the economy, therefore, much will be required of state and local governments to provide health care services for an aging population.

Jackie,

I think the gop governors stopped saying they will not implement the exchange after the governor of Arizona said she would implement it. I think about half of the gop governors said they will not implement it.

@getalife

Watch what they do and not what they say.
Even if the states do not implement the Exchange, the law says the Federal government can implement the Exchange.

The Exchange was to be funded by the Federal government and the states have said they will turn it down.

Watch Texas and Florida.
