Well, I sure hope Bookman didn’t break a finger or something while typing this post. I got to admit it’s exackly what we want to see in the way of librul opinion, but it’s kinda skimpy, ain’t it? I ain’t seen nothing like this since Sammy Boxman jammed the time clock pushing his card so hard when the boss let people go ten minutes early.

Merry Christmas everybody.

Today: I had a large boxed gift that needed wrapping so I took it to Dillards. They refused cause I bought the gift at Bed Bath and Beyond. So I tried JCP. No dice. Sears? Don’t make them laugh. Nobody would touch it. I can’t wrap, well, I can do a decent Fiddy Cent, but can’t wrap. So, my Christmas Eve is all pants on the ground in the middle of the mall madhouse of window shoppers, shoplifters and the shop worn. Then I notice a gift wrap kiosk and they manage to wrap it, but it’s not nearly as nice as dillards does. It looks like I wrapped it. Now get this. They charged me twenty bucks, the dirty Elfzillas. God Bless us, everyone.

Which reminds me of a christmas eve classic story that I just love telling. A Christmas Story.

Once upon a xmas eve, a small boy person with disabilities was sitting around the xmas tree with his whole poor family waiting for the figgy pudding his mother managed to prepare. His brothers and sisters were all sipping cinnamon tea around an old table with one leg shorter than the others, which made for a noisy celebration as the one leg kept knocking on the floor as the revelers leaned to and fro slapping at each other as kids are want to do. The small boy started to recite a poem he had just learned from one of his siblings. “F-f-find ‘em” His mother objected immediately: (Oh, no. Somebody taught Tiny Tim his four F’s. We all agreed not to. Who did this?) “F-f-f-fool ‘em…” (Okay, Tiny, knock it off, do not say the rest of your four F’s. I mean it. Stop.) “F-f-f-feel ‘em…” (Dammit, Tiny Tim. I’m warning you. Don’t say that fourth F. I’ll take all your presents back. No present for tiny tim, everybody. Don’t do it Tiny Tim. Don’t say it.) “F-f-f-f-f-………” (Tiny. Look at me. I’m not kidding here. Don’t say your four F’s.) “…f-f-f-f-f-FA-QUE MOM!!”

Gunman Kills Two Firefighters Responding to House Fire

New York gunman died of self-inflicted gunshot wound, and had served time for killing his grandmother with a hammer, police said.

…Webster police identified the gunman Monday afternoon as William Spengler, 62, and said he died by a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. Spengler had served nearly 18 years in jail for killing his 92-year-old grandmother in 1980 at the house next to where Monday’s attack happened, and he had a “lengthy criminal record,” police said. After serving time for manslaughter in his grandmother’s killing, police said he was on parole until 2006…

The school, Sidwell Friends School in Washington, DC, has 11 security officers and is seeking to hire a new police officer as we speak.

If you dismiss this by saying, “Of course they have armed guards — they get Secret Service protection,” then you’ve missed the larger point.

The larger point is that this is standard operating procedure for the school, period. And this is the reason people like NBC’s David Gregory send their kids to Sidwell, they know their kids will be protected from the carnage that befell kids at a school where armed guards weren’t used (and weren’t even allowed).

Shame on President Obama for seeking more gun control and for trying to prevent the parents of other school children from doing what he has clearly done for his own. His children sit under the protection guns afford, while the children of regular Americans are sacrificed.
