What happens on Fox “News” if you challenge one of their most-cherished narratives?
If you’re Tom Ricks, author, Pulitzer Prize winner and former military affairs reporter for The Washington Post, the interview ends abruptly and you’re sent quickly packing, probably ensuring that you will never see Fox air again.
Nicely done, Mr. Ricks. (Transcript below).
It got me to thinking, though. Back in the day, David Allan Coe had a country hit titled “You Never Even Called Me by My Name,” which he claimed was damn near the perfect country song. All it lacked was a mention of “momma, or trains, or trucks, or prison or gettin’ drunk.” So Steve Goodman, who had co-written the song with John Prine, sat down to write Coe a new closing verse. It went like this:
“Well, I was drunk the day my momma got out of prison,
And I went to pick her up in the rain.
But before I could get to the station in the pick-up truck,
She got runned over by a damned old train.”
So … what would be the perfect Fox “News” non-story? If you were a Fox “News” producer, and you wanted to dream up the segment that would punch every button for your audience, what would it be?
The Benghazi attacks were carried out by the New Black Panthers to recover evidence that Obama had really been born in Kenya?
—————
TRANSCRIPT:
JON SCOTT (co-host): Pressure mounting on the Obama administration over its response to the deadly attack on our consulate in Benghazi, as [Fox News correspondent] Catherine Herridge reported just minutes ago. Several top GOP lawmakers are backing off their criticism of U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice, instead focusing on the White House. Two senators even expressing concerns about a possible White House cover-up. Let’s talk about it with Tom Ricks. He is author of The Generals. He has spent decades covering our military. He joins us now.
Senator John McCain said in the past he would block any attempt to nominate Susan Rice to become U.N. — I’m sorry, secretary of state. She’s currently the U.N. ambassador. He seems to be backing away from that. What do you make of it?
RICKS: I think that Benghazi generally was hyped, by this network especially, and that now that the campaign is over, I think he’s backing off a little bit. They’re not going to stop Susan Rice from being secretary of state.
SCOTT: When you have four people dead, including the first dead U.N. ambassador — U.S. ambassador in more than 30 years, how do you call that hype?
RICKS: How many security contractors died in Iraq, do you know?
SCOTT: I don’t.
RICKS: No. Nobody does, because nobody cared. We know that several hundred died, but there was never an official count done of security contractors dead in Iraq. So when I see this focus on what was essentially a small firefight, I think, number one, I’ve covered a lot of firefights. It’s impossible to figure out what happens in them sometimes. And second, I think that the emphasis on Benghazi has been extremely political, partly because Fox was operating as a wing of Republican Party.
SCOTT: All right. Tom Ricks, thanks very much for joining us today.
RICKS: You’re welcome.

Also, I found his discounting of an ambassador’s death in comparison to the deaths of government intelligence contractors somewhat….disagreeable…
I’m not big Fox advocate to be sure, but they are the only ones to routinely air the likes of this guy, Al Sharpton, Harris/Dawkins and others who can intelligently post their positions…at least they try…

The Benghazi attackers got their weapons via Fast and Furious and were led by Obama’s “real” kenyan cousin who dated Monica Lewinsky back in the day. Of course it all ties back to the Whitewater Arkansas land deal.

Stevie Ray, as Ricks noted later, the segment was supposed to go to discuss combat readiness of U.S. Army units, but it was ended before they could get that far. Ricks was chided by Fox folks afterward for being “rude.”

The primary method of communications for the Benghazi fast & furious attackers was their obamaphones, which everyone knows allow illegal aliens to speak Arabic. Most of the attackers were illegal alien dayworkers that obama’s cousin “Red Archie” picked up at home depot on the way to attacking the Consulate. They were paid with foodstamps.

It seems the loathing liberals have toward Fox News (anyone who gets info from the likes of several on such as hannity, gibson and the like is dopey) is due the fact that before they came along, the liberals enjoyed the totally liberal biased press such as the major networks, NYT’s et al…
Shame they rained on the Liberal parade…the outrage is somewhat indicative of the fear the Libs have of being challenged in the press..
Can anyone explain the relevance of belittling the death of a US ambassador by comparison to intelligence contractor deaths? Help as clearly I’m too ignorant to make the connection..

Here is one for you.
NEW BOMBSHELL: President Obama engaged in secret talks with Jeremiah Wright and Louis Farrakhan to institute aggressive “social justice” policy as quid pro quo for huge minority support in 2012 election.
…and as for the idea that Fox puts certain people (especially minorities) on for no other reason than to parrot the narrative and give false confirmation of right wing assumptions and prejudices. Absolutely! NOTHING sells to an airhead better than having as stooge placed in front of said airhead and says what said airhead wants to hear AND THE STOOGE LOOKS LIKE THE OBJECT OF AIRHEAD’S CONTEMPT. To this type of person it registers as instant and bonafide credibility. They never look beyond the surface. I can tell you without a doubt as minority it is KRYSTAL clear ( because I AM “Krystal’s Balls”) when another minority is presnting legitimate criticism in discussing minority issues and one who is a Stooge. Believe it! it extends beyond that to things in general. I just use that as an example because I key on many of the bombastic personalities I see on there with brown faces, which really is an affront in and of itself.

Both Fox and the Republicans know this but chose to completely disregard the feelings of the families of our killed Benghazi people for monetary and political gain.
This kind of behavior is despicable but fully approved by the cons here and shows just how dirt common they all are.

Let me try this one out. Nobody’s belitting the death of a US ambassador at all. What he tried to do was point out the hypocrisy that’s on display in regards to Fox News when it comes to American deaths.
When did they whip up a fury over contractors dying overseas? When did they whip up a fury over military personnel dying overseas? The only reason they’ve hyped up Benghazi is because they thought it would sway the presidential race. If it were indeed newsworthy, ALL media would have been over the story. As it has come out, all other media outlets appear to want to wait for the results of the investigation before jumping on the story instead of pushing the story.
This story is no different than BP Agent Brian Terry and the “Fast and Furious” crap. How many Border Patrol Agents have been killed in the line of duty? I bet not a single Fox News talking head can answer that question. Yet, they parade Terry around as though he’s some trophy of war.
I don’t watch Fox News as I despise the bandwith they take up on my satellite signal. I don’t care much at all for partisaned bullsh*t masquerading as “news”. Furthermore, I don’t care for the opinion-as-news reporting style they engage.

I don’t see the repentance in Murdock after he hacked into the communications illegally of his news subjects. I mean I saw he and his Leona Helmsley type wife appear before Parliament looking somewhat remorseful under the purview of the country thinking of encircling him into a criminal activity, yet he runs FOX like a thug with no conscience. He literally presses the issues of honesty to their limits and gathers a lynch mob around him, to distract from his illicit activities, as he rakes in billions.
As we watch the intrusion of the FBI into the private life of an Army general under somewhat sketchy circumstances that ended in disaster for the CIA director under Obama, you wonder if he is not a shark back in these U.S. waters too. He is like a serial pervert, not unlike the Jimmy Sevile only a different racket, with innocent private citizens being violated in the same immoral sickness of a child perversion. Like Sevile this habitual violator of the freedom of the press needs to be exposed and dealt with as a lesson to others in the Watergate heritage he represents. A country cannot be proud of this kind of nastiness, yet most on the right rebel in it.

These things are not either/or propositions. Just because someone doesn’t share in your “outrage” means that they feel the polar opposite of you.
As far as national security, do you not realize that the primary security of the consulate in Benghazi was the responsibility of the host country? That would make it more of a national security issue for Libya as opposed to us. I seriously doubt you’ll see masses of armed extremists marching or protesting through any city in America.

If the majority of Americans cannot recognize that the mental midgets on both sides that they keep reelecting (best demonstrated by Joe Biden and Michele Bachmann) do not have their best interests in mind, then we deserve whatever comes down the road.

*Real Addict : Their helplessness may take the form of resignation that they are too addicted to change, or perhaps they simply do not have the willpower or desire to stop abusing drugs or alcohol.
*Faux News Addict: Fox news is the only unbiased, honest, forthright, nonjudgemental, straightforward, unvarnished reporting of the political news today. Unlike nBC,ABC,CBS which feverishly wanted the Prez O to have a second term.

The clip (repeated hundreds of times) of the Iraqi throwing the shoe at W got much more play than the Benghazi attack in the traditional media. The lack of coverage in the media, of the Benghazi attack and the Obama administrations coverup, says a great deal about how important the Ambassadors death was. Obviously the left, as represented by Mr. Ricks and the media, did not think this was a big deal.

As for the phony equivalence arguments that always get trotted out by the Stevie Rays–MSNBC and FNC have utterly different stated missions. One claims merely to be “the place for politics.” the other falsely claims to be “fair and balanced,” and of course to merely “report” so we can “decide.”
And as JHM correctly pointed out, nobody on MSNBC comes close to media personalities like Cenk or Steph or Mike Malloy on the vituperativity scale.

The system actually works pretty well in a society as fractured politically as Israel’s. Most of the fringe parties (especially in the right) tend to be somewhat narrow in their “causes.” By bringing them into a coalition, the moderates can throw the dog a bone and at the same time cobble together a majority while at the same time, more or less, keeping them “in line.” The downside is that if you are too dependent on them for your majority, and you piss off a small constituency, they can withdraw and bring you down. Netanyahu is the master at playing this. With only 27 MKs, he’s been able to keep his coalition in power…

There is no question that the Ambassador and the CIA were running covert operations in Benghazi. How do you win over militias and militants to the US and provisional government when the US under Condi and Bush got in bed with the king of terrorists – Gadaffi and gave him aide and diplomatic recognition for going after the very same militias and militants who were the no 1 source of insurgents in Iraq? Obviously we wanted to keep our CIA presence low key because the US as always in the Middle East had played both sides of the fence, coddling dictatotrs while cultivating democracy.
So along comes David Petreaus, Paula “Bimbo” Broadwell and Fox News and for political gain leaks out confidential CIA information about Beghazi In addition they went further and leaked out false stories about CIA prisoners. Why is no one under arrest for the leaks of confidential information.?
Even Romney decided to duck and cover on the Benghazi story that the cons and Fox was airiing 24/7. Ever woinder why?

“I just have a problem with living off the public dollar for your entire career”
Hardly a career, and have you looked at what the average welfare recipient gets from the “public dollar”? Here’s a few facts for you to consider.
Income Guidelines
The welfare program supports families and individuals with limited or no income and resources. The program uses a complex calculation to determine eligibility based on federal poverty guidelines. The guidelines require income to fall at or below a percentage of the median annual income in the applicant’s metropolitan area. For example, the median annual income for Texas was $59,500 and a family of four could not exceed $17,850, or 30 percent, in income at the time of publication to qualify for welfare. Income plays a significant role in the amount of benefits a recipient receives.
Cash Assistance
The calculation for cash assistance includes monthly income, the need standard and the payment standard. The need standard varies based on location, family size and shelter costs and it defines the amount of money necessary to support the applicant. The payment standard determines the maximum amount a family can receive considering income and other resources. Each locale determines the standards based on the median annual income for the area. For example, a single-parent family of four in Texas can receive a payment of $312 per month. A two-parent household of four can receive $320 maximum per month. Interested persons can contact their local social services department and request the maximum amount for their situation.
Food Assistance
Applicants receive food assistance benefits as part of the welfare program. The maximum monthly amount of benefits a family of four could receive was $668 as of June 2011. But the maximum amount is affected significantly by a recipient’s annual income. For example, if a family of four earns $250 per month of countable income, the monthly food payment is reduced to $418.
Combined Assistance
The combination of food and cash assistance comprise the total monthly benefit amount, which is determined by the applicant’s location. A single-parent family of four in Texas with no resources or income would receive a total of $980 per month. Alaska pays the highest percentage of the federal poverty line, at 50 percent, and a family of four could receive up to $1,025 per month in cash assistance alone
Read more: How Much Money Does a Family of Four Receive in Welfare? | eHow.com http://www.ehow.com/info_8590871_much-family-four-receive-welfare.html#ixzz2DNsk1IS6
Sounds like Alaska’s got it pretty good, and that’s a fairly conservative state as I recall. I don’t know about you, but $320 a month in welfare, even with food allowance, isn’t going to get you a spot in the local country club. And speaking from experience feeding two teenage boys on my single income, no amount of food allowance is enough.

Yep, the Occupy gang was in an agitating mood, JKL2.
I loved it and I suspect that Frederick Douglass would have approved.
Yet somewhat inexplicably to me, you Republicans went fairly berserk over those protests/redress of grievances by tens of thousands of Americans in dozens of American cities. And though you may or may not have noticed, making up wholesale malicious lies about countless of those fellow citizens was a factor in your November losses.
As did your Limbaugh-led sick little stunt with Sandra Fluke, but I digress…
So to the extent that that groundswell of protest and taking a stand against the power brokers and the oligarchs, brought to bear the subject of needlessly contrived income inequality and injustice in America – and it did – it was not impotent or misplaced anger, as is much of the right wing’s.
One more time. Just because it is so powerful and wonderful…
If there is no struggle, there is no progress.
Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.
Power concedes nothing without a demand. It never did and it never will.
Find out just what a people will submit to, and you have found out the exact amount of injustice and wrong which will be imposed upon them; and these will continue till they are resisted with either words or blows, or with both.
The limits of tyrants are prescribed by the endurance of those whom they oppress.
Men may not get all they pay for in this world; but they must pay for all they get. If we ever get free from all the oppressions and wrongs heaped upon us, we must pay for their removal. We must do this by labor, by suffering, by sacrifice, and, if needs be, by our lives, and the lives of others. ~Frederick Douglass, 1857

I know that it’s unattractive and bad form to say “I told you so” when one’s advice was ignored yet ultimately proved correct. But in the wake of the Republican election debacle, it’s essential that conservatives undertake a clear-eyed assessment of who on their side was right and who was wrong. Those who were wrong should be purged and ignored; those who were right, especially those who inflicted maximum discomfort on movement conservatives in being right, ought to get credit for it and become regular reading for them once again.
I’m not going to beat around the bush and pretend I don’t have a vested interest here. Frankly, I think I’m at ground zero in the saga of Republicans closing their eyes to any facts or evidence that conflict with their dogma. Rather than listen to me, they threw me under a bus. To this day, I don’t think they understand that my motives were to help them avoid the permanent decline that now seems inevitable.
[...]
My book, Impostor: How George W. Bush Bankrupted America and Betrayed the Reagan Legacy, was published in February 2006. I had been summarily fired by the think tank I worked for back in October 2005. Although the book was then only in manuscript, my boss falsely claimed that it was already costing the organization contributions. He never detailed, nor has anyone, any factual or analytical error in the book.
Among the interesting reactions to my book is that I was banned from Fox News. My publicist was told that orders had come down from on high that it was to receive no publicity whatsoever, not even attacks. Whoever gave that order was smart; attacks from the right would have sold books. Being ignored was poison for sales.
I later learned that the order to ignore me extended throughout Rupert Murdoch’s empire. For example, I stopped being quoted in the Wall Street Journal.* Awhile back, a reporter who left the Journal confirmed to me that the paper had given her orders not to mention me. Other dissident conservatives, such as David Frum and Andrew Sullivan, have told me that they are banned from Fox as well. More epistemic closure.

Kind of sad that Jay thinks dead Americans and Black Panthers standing outside a polling station with baseball bats are joking matters.
Sorry, but there are still a lot of unanswered questions about Benghazi, and you know damn well if there was a Republican in the White House you wouldn’t take “Oh, we did nothing wrong, we swear!” as an answer.

Just so I get the scorecard right here Jay:
4 Americans including an ambassador are killed on the anniversary of 9/11 by elements of Al Qaeda
We were told by the Obama Admin that Al Qaeda was ‘decimated’ prior to the attack and not capable of doing such attacks
We find out that no extra security was authorized by the admin for the consulate even after repeated requests by the Ambassador himself
We find out there had been intel warnings prior to the attack
We find out the President missed 2/3 of his intel briefings prior to the attack
We were fed one story for nearly 3 weeks from every administration official from the top down that a 15-minute video released six months prior was the reason for the attack, that it was a ’spontaneous’ protest that led to the ’small firefight’
We then find out the President knew within 90 minutes of the beginning of the attack that it was a terrorist attack
We then find out repeated requests for help were denied multiple times with American military elements 30 minutes to an hour away from the attack zone
We then find out a General responsible for the area was sacked because he was going to defy the ’stand down’ order from the White House and was stopped by his 2nd in command
And just before the head of the CIA was scheduled to give testimony on the whole disaster, a scandal conveniently breaks out that disrupts that story and creates a whole other news story for the media to chase while ruining the reputation of said CIA director
But the real problem for America here is…….Fox News reporting on it?
Should I be surprised/saddended/angered/disgusted/indifferent that you and the liberals here are willing to step over dead Americans to protect your favorite socialist dictator….er, President, Jay? Might as well take some of the blood off his hands while you’re at it. Please, tell us how it’s all Conservatives’ fault and we’re racist/sexist/bigots/homophobes/fearmongers for bothering to question what happened to our citizens.

Be careful, after two kids, the average increase in welfare is only about $70 a month. When you consider the cost estimate for raising a child is above 100k, that few hundred a year isn’t going to help you. Averages on a family of four are typical, and estimates show that a family of say five or six is actually worse off on a per person basis.

Let’s see. Fox News for Republicans (notice I didn’t say “right” or “conservative”). MSNBC for Democrats (not “left” or “liberal”). All the 3-letters somewhere in the middle but usually accused of being pro-Democrat. The problem is that few journalists, Bookie included, can report the news without personal bias. If journalism schools would teach the old Joe Friday statement, “The facts ma’am, just the facts,” the news world would be a better place. News channels should jsut fire the readers and rely on Associated Press wires for real news.

gotta go- the recliner is calling and I need some downtime before bed. You cons keep harping and hoping. I’m sure Rush will make you feel all better tomorrow…or bitter, depending on what you prefer. To end the night, a quote from Don Quixote, one of my favorite books from high school (and I read it in Spanish, btw before reading it in English…in a public school, too!)
““Destiny guides our fortunes more favorably than we could have expected. Look there, Sancho Panza, my friend, and see those thirty or so wild giants, with whom I intend to do battle and kill each and all of them, so with their stolen booty we can begin to enrich ourselves. This is noble, righteous warfare, for it is wonderfully useful to God to have such an evil race wiped from the face of the earth.”
“What giants?” Asked Sancho Panza.
“The ones you can see over there,” answered his master, “with the huge arms, some of which are very nearly two leagues long.”
“Now look, your grace,” said Sancho, “what you see over there aren’t giants, but windmills, and what seems to be arms are just their sails, that go around in the wind and turn the millstone.”
“Obviously,” replied Don Quijote, “you don’t know much about adventures.”
Enjoy the adventure, dear neocon friends. We will entertain your delusions for a time.

Mitt wasn’t going to get elected by appealing to 2% of the people. I think with the lower taxes theme he was appealing or attempting to appeal to the common sense of people- that the less govt involement and taxation of an economy the more prosperous that economy will be. Its common sense to anyone with a rudimentary understanding of macro economics but apparently there are less and less of those people living in the U.S. who understand that.

If you think Mr. Ricks did a good job of skewering the Faux News talking head, you should see both of the Ralph Nader interviews on that channel from this year.
In the first, the supposed interviewer, Cavuto runs his mouth so much it is childish. In the second one, Ralph tells David whatever his name is to stop talking 90% of the time.
Blustering, would be comedians feigning to be newsmen. Which I get. It is part and parcel of their TV carnival.
But my advice to these clowns is shut your pie holes once in awhile, quit trying to bully and interrupt people endlessly and let the rest of actually learn something from Americans who are far smarter and experienced than you, OK?

People with common sense and a modicum of intelligence would understand a facetious statement when they see it.
But at least now I use the kamchak disclaimer for people lacking the intelligence to comprehend sarcasm, facetious statments, etc. Also known as the “just joking” card it lets people too stupid to comprehend saracasm, dry humor, or facetiousness know that you are indeed “just kidding”.
Here is a textbook example of how to use the kamchak disclaimer to let people know that you’re statement is not to be taken seriously and is intended as a point of humor.
“Kamchak is a smart feller.” – kamchak disclaimer denoting that this statement is one of humor and not intended to be taken seriously. Just in case anyone was foolish enough to think I was serious. But to most reasonable people that 5 sentence statement did the job and evoked immediate and outright laughter.

While appearing on Bill O’ Reilly’s show, he basically lambastes the network for not being a true news network and brands them a ‘business’ — nothing more, nothing less.
Koppel notes that ideological news is bad for America – from wherever the ideology stems. He notes that there is no question when watching FoxNews where the ideological bent comes from. Further, he chastises O’ Reilly for pretending to be a real news anchor, especially when he goes so far as to remind O’ Reilly “Once upon a time, you and I thought journalism was a calling…” instead of just a business.

Certainly I have little use for Fox News. Way, way too liberal with the likes of Birdbrain Bob Beckel, Won Williams, and Whoraldo Riveria. But they occasionally give you news unlike PMSNBC, SeeBS, the alphabets, PBS (Pure BS), NPR (Nazi Propaganda Radio), and the other left wing propaganda machines. All of them have less credibility than Bookman on weed.

You are such a self-righteous smug jerk whose opinions bear no resemblance to actual reality. You’re a worse left-wing pundit than any right-wing extremist on Fox News. If you took a poll you would probably find that since Georgia is CONSERVATIVE outside of 285 that 70% of your readers are fed up with your attempts to ‘re-educate’ us and indoctrinate us to your way of thinking. I can only hope for the day you get yourself fired. It’s truly sickening to watch a grown man follow feminist doctrine and tout everything Michelle Obama embraces. I suppose that sentiment is lost to begin with on you…..
Back off the rabbit trail….How STUPID do you think we are? Anyone with a college education (or less) knows that radical Islam is willing to do anything at any cost to spread their agenda. The ins and outs of WHY are immaterial. RADICAL MUSLIMS KILLED OUR DIPLOMAT and OBAMA sat by and did NOTHING. Just like Eric Holder, Obama’s boy, got an innocent border patrol agent killed. We are somehow supposed to afford respect to an administration that is as corrupt, lawless, and criminal as any we’ve ever had….. Regardless of what the ‘average secular Muslim’ believes, it really doesn’t matter. There are 10’s of millions of Muslims in the Middle East who will take any chance they get to kill a Christian or a Jew and that is FACT. I would suspect you don’t think that because you haven’t actually BEEN to the Middle East and seen it firsthand like many of the servicemen I know. Saudi Arabia STILL refuses to allow any Israeli to enter their country under penalty of death. The Muslim brotherhood in Egypt has proven terrorist ties, yet we’re celebrating Egypt’s independence and Obama is complicit. If Obama isn’t a Muslim sympathizer or plant, he’s the stupidest president in our history or deliberately derelict. Your defense of his administration and all of his dittoheads shows your ignorance, so don’t spin this into a right wing over-reaction.

it’s the willfull gullibility that gets to me. I guess that’s why I reacted quite as viscerally as I did upthread to F. Sink’s idiotic non-fact about the homicide rate in Chicago. It’s because about two months back I was minding my own business, working at a client site, and I happened to hear some numbskull sharing a similar heard-on-FoxNewsAMRadio “statistic” that just boggled my mind at the time.
I can’t remember the exact number I heard, but it was some outlandish number happening “every” week or suchlike. And all I could thing of was, “can you do elementary-school level math? If so, would it make any sense that an American city could possibly have a murder rate like that?”

Fox serves a very specific purpose for those who watch. It gives them validation, not information. Those people are predisposed to a particular ideology and Fox just reinforces what they already believe. Facts, truth, news and actual information do not figure into the equation. I know someone who thinks Obamacare dictates that micro chips be implanted into people who take advantage of it. Guess where she got that tidbit of “news”. The Republicans are just coming in from a cold war with Democrats where for the last four years their total existence was to obstruct and hinder the daily operations of government. The public recognizes it and it shows in the polls. The GOP has put on false fronts, lady spokespersons, black keynote speakers, but at the end of the day you can return to FOX to see the raw mini rallies of propaganda and the lack of intellectual foundation this disingenuous and in many cases anti American, sold out mob really represents. The upshot of this post is that Fox News is doing great work. In that they are further damaging the GOP brand with their cowardly stunts, loathsome personalities and the on-air silencing of opposing voices.
Certainly the more rational and reasonable people in this country are fed up with losers like Karl Rove and Ann Coulter.
And their best days as a viable alternative for something other than laughably hyper-partisan, far right wing, globally cooled, the GOP can do no wrong nonsense is likely behind them.

As Georgia football fan, I can safely say that if the Bulldogs make no mistakes, have no penalties, have no incomplete passes, sacks, or negative yards of any kind, they will lose by seven points. Otherwise it will be like taking a dull knife to a gun fight. ‘Bama wins, either way.;

First of all contrary to what the left wing propaganda machines told you Fox polling did not predict a Romney win and if you were paying attention the “reputable polling” wasn’t all that reliable as most failed to accurately predict the effectiveness of the DNC ground game in the battleground states. The national vote was close as predicted by most polling organization.

“”The problems we inherited were far worse than most inside and out of government had expected; the recession was deeper than most inside and out of government had predicted. Curing those problems has taken more time and a higher toll than any of us wanted.”"
Ronald Reagan, 1983 SOTU
“”To understand the State of the Union, we must look not only at where we are and where we’re going but where we’ve been. The situation at this time last year was truly ominous.”"
“In the last six months of 1980, as an example, the money supply increased at the fastest rate in postwar history 13 percent. Inflation remained in double digits and Government spending increased at an annual rate of 17 percent. Interest rates reached a s taggering 21 1/2 percent. There were eight million unemployed.”
&
“First, we must understand what’s happening at the moment to the economy. Our current problems are not the product of the recovery program that’s only just now getting under way, as some would have you believe; they are the inheritance of decades of tax and tax, and spend”
&
“Now the budget deficit this year will exceed our earlier expectations. The recession did that. It lowered revenues and increased costs.”
Ronald Reagan 1982 SOTU

Bama doesn’t make many mistakes. They play like a python. They squeeze their prey harder and harder as the game goes on. One or two mistakes is all it takes, and then the prey succumbs to the pressure.

Serious journalism eventually rises to the top because people do not want to be just entertained 24/7 and they need to know when it is really raining as opposed to when the power brokers want them to think it is raining. How do you find serious journalism? By comparing the news to reality. If Fox says the polls are tiled to the Democratic side yet when the election comes, the left’s projections are right on the money, I return to the source that was obviously correct. If you were betting on information given by Fox how often would you lose your bet? Fox is an entertainment channel; if we perceive it as that it makes sense.

Ok Jay – Are your journalistic skills up to going further with this angle on Fox News and the Benghazi debacle? Or is this just a punch line to some song that needs to be ridiculed?
“”"”"Martha Mitchell’s blunt revelation {about Watergate and her husband’s involvement with Nixon]and the way it got ignored comes to mind as we wait for the follow-up to Paula Broadwell’s assertion that two prisoners were being held at the CIA “annex” near the consulate in Benghazi at the time of the assault that left Ambassador Christopher Stephens and three other Americans dead.
Thanks to Fox News we know that the “annex” near the consulate in Benghazi was actually the largest CIA station in North Africa (you’d think the largest would be in Egypt) and that the CIA was hurriedly relocating prisoners prior to the attack on the consulate. It had become apparent that many of the Libyan rebels the U.S. government had helped overthrow Qaddafi, after a few days of “celebratory gunfire,” regarded the U.S. as an occupier, not an ally.
Given that the CIA was holding prisoners in Benghazi, the goal of the Sept. 11 action at the consulate may have been an effort to free them. The attack may have been payback for their detention. And everybody involved in that detention, including CIA Director David Petraeus, was committing a crime.
Unfortunately for Jennifer Griffin of Fox News, the rightwing politicians who are looking for ammunition against Obama can’t make use of her Benghazi reporting because it exposes their 4-star hero (who never saw combat or commanded a division) as a perjurer, and the CIA as a rogue agency”"”"”"”"”"http://www.counterpunch.org/2012/11/27/paula-broadwell-whistleblower/
Of course the cons only see this as a coverup by Obama and not by Petreus with the floozie as a whistle blower and Fox News exposing highly classified information. Or is that what the Pentagon Papers incident was all about???????????Takes a skilled journalist to cover this one properly.

You little commies just hate any kind of opposition to the truth. That clown who was interviewed on Fox is a liberal who writes for one of the biggest liberal news rags in this country and was awarded a liberal prize by one of the biggest liberal organizations out there. Yeah, we are supposed to be accepting of his viewpoint…right.
Once again, Jay, thanks for bringing one of those little gems attacking conservative thought to all of us out here starving for news. The only people gulping down that crap are the likes of the US chick hiding out in the UK and Joe Hussein.
Unlike your left wing idiots on MSNBC, Fox News brings on opposite thinking news hacks to get their side of the story only to show their HUGE audience how embarrassing the left’s thinking is. You liberals control all the other news media programs, but can’t stand to have one TV network oppose your propaganda arm. How can one distinguish between your liberal news media and the Communist Party? You can’t.
Whether you “progressives” like it or not…Benghazi is a bone fide coverup. The timelines of the attack and the explanations given thereafter are all wrong. Your little “bump in the road” or gun running from Libya to Syria was a black eye to the reelection of the Obama regime. Now you Obama goose-steppers are doubling down with the cavalier attitude of dismissing the facts. Shameful actions by shameful Democrats.

Jay; you are correct in stating Fox News has a conservative bias. You on the other hand have a very even hand when writing about political issues if viewed thru a liberal prism. Don’t worry about FNC as you more than counter-balance them. Keep up your good liberal spin as it is always amusing.

The right is constantly trying to dictate the discussion of the news. We had thousands blown up on their watch; never dawn on them that maybe the Bush administration blew that one, never dawn on the left to drag the country through a sewer to gain political points, they lead a positive response. Now 4 people knowing they were in harm’s way like soldiers die on O’s watch, and the first weak livered response is not to the violation of us as a country but an attack on the O administration. Immaturity is the password of the Republican Party.

You can have your foxhole of a network, just remember that truth seeks its own level and that no news organization has a monopoly on it.
Oh yeah, one more thing, we are all part of the same hypocrisy, just don’t think yours smells any better…

So Ben compares a columnist in a daily newspaper (which also has another columnist that writes the opposing view) to a major news network??? Wow, Jay, you should ask for a raise. Did you realize you are so powerful that you swing the bias of fox news (I refuse to capitalize it) back to the balance?
You the man!!!
