Happy Thanksgiving everyone

And that, dear readers, is the end of our political programming as we head into the Thanksgiving holiday.

The Bookman clan is preparing to welcome family and friends coming in from California, Washington state, North Carolina and Sterling Street. The food for tomorrow’s feast has been gathered; appropriate libations have been procured. The star of the show, a 22-pound turkey, is defrosting in a cooler outside, in preparation for its date with destiny on my Weber grill tomorrow morning.

And just to get y’all into the mood, here’s an underappreciated holiday classic, which by some accounts was based on a real-life episode right here in the ATL.

For all of the beer drinkers: Newcastle Winter IPA is definitely worth a try.

As someone said the other day: Being drunk, stupid, and drooling on the keyboard is no way to go through life, son.

Yep! $230. Anybody beat that?!!

Hell, I gotta work all weekend, so I just picked up a six of Hoegaarden Original White and a six of Paulaner Hefe-Weissbier Naturtrüb to get me through the weekend. Y’all eat, drink, and be merry for those of us who can’t enjoy the holiday as much.

Fredro,

Happy cooking!

The egg here is staying cool tonight.

Spinach artichoke dip is all I have to take care of.

Woo hoo!

After days like today, I can honestly say that I really love what I do. It also doesn’t hurt that Delta has 3 of the first international arrivals of the day coming from Brazil. :)

We’ll have to get together on that beer run…

TBs, thanks.

I’m having a Dundee Brewery’s (Rochester, NY) Nut Brown Ale tonight. It’s no Rogue but it is quite tasty and a good value.

Bro, rock on you, you would be German.

I remember how this record just absolutely wrecked everyone, especially the older generation…

I figured it would be easier to do one German and one Belgian instead of trying to choose between the two. I’ll have one or two tomorrow, a few on Saturday, and then I should still have a few left for the SEC championship game next weekend.

Bro, I certainly understand. My former Argentin g/f was very jealous. But a walk on the beaches there will reveal the good and the ugly of nude/topless beaches. ;)

Bro, Prost! (Me and my dad got fairly snockered one night in Freiburg.)

Been jammin’ the Radio Caroline. What a gas, finding it all these years later; she’s still kcikin’ out the sweeeeet stuff…

You’re much braver than me. The mere thought of running into the ugly side of those beaches would keep me from venturing anywhere near. I’ve seen many people returning from the Caribbean and Mexico looking like they spent the entire trip in the sun.

TO everybody: Have a safe and wonderful Thanksgiving.

Oh I lied. You wanna watch the game at a cheap sports bar with me instead? Me and anyone else who wants to show up?

Yahoo had a bit of advice for you…

I haven’t had that particular Ommegang, but their beers are all good. Of the one’s I’ve tried, I was not disappointed at all. I came across this one here while I was searching for something new to try.

Now, I just have to find a way to get my hands on one to see if it lives up to the name.

Already got our contribution to tomorrow done and ready to go. Eating early this year. Puffed up and proud grandpaws, we are! Wishing each and everyone here abouts the same joy we’re having…

Good Thanksgiving morning to all y’all. The Corbin Sharpe family tradition is to play this just before sitting down to eat. The Grand kids, young and old, and now with a threesome of Great Grand kids to join in singing the refrain, it ought to be fun…

Enjoy.

Mick,
Ever since my kids were little, we would play Alice before the meal and sing the song. When my kids had kids, they carried on the tradition and now my great grand kids are getting in on it. Thanksgiving, in the Sharpe house, is all about family…and laughter. and this song gives it all.

I totally agree, yes that song is” the thanksgiving song of the sixties, seventies and now forever. On black and white TV, the whole family would watch this after the big dinner-

Thanks to our Muslim President for funding the iron dome anti-missle system which saved my mother and other relatives in Israel. and Thanks to the Muslim Botherhood leader of
Egypt who negotiated a truce with Hillary which gives greater protection to Israel by allowing US peace keeping troops in the Sinai so they can enforce an arms embargo against Hamas and stop Iranian missile shipments. See Mr. Morsi has a little problem too with extremists and Al-Quaida running all over the Sinai and trying to overthrow his government. But then again Hannity and the cons would not be thankful for any of this because they want to keep up the lie that Obama the Muslim hates Israel and is in bed with the Muslim brotherhood.
Happy Thanksgiving cons. Hope that burn mark on your rear has healed by now!

Oh one more thanks to Saxby for challenging Grover- maybe that election knocked some sense into a few cons. Oh and for your Grover/tea bag lovers, I suggest you do a little research on Mr. Grover-he has a little terrorist problem which the cons and Faux News has avoided like the plague. Go for it Michelle B. and you Mooslim haters! Thanks again Saxby for giving us a rare chance to be proud of a Repub. politician from Gawgia.
