You want to know who REALLY killed the Twinkie?

images-22

Unions, my friends, did not cause the demise of Hostess, the company that became famous as the maker of Twinkies and other wonderfully sweet snack items. Oh no. Only the foolish and uninformed would ever believe such a naive explanation. And I know that you are much too smart to be foolish and uninformed, which is why you come here to learn about how the world really works.

No, the real explanation begins here:

20100317_newsweek_250x339

Need I say more?

“But wait!” I can hear some of you say. “Are you claiming that Michelle Obama killed the Twinkie in some sort of a conspiracy?” Let’s examine the evidence, shall we:

As the noted political expert and Fox News guest Victoria Jackson explains:

7536.dl

“Michelle is a snake.

She is so deceptive. This whole ‘food thing’ she is innocently pushing, is slyly making the government the controller of our children’s food … out from her forked tongue slipped a buzzword, on the Jay Leno show tonight. She actually used the words, ’sustainable food, organic food.’ These are Agenda 21 words. They mean GOVERNMENT CONTROL.”

That’s right, Victoria: Government control. And Agenda 21, that devious plot by which the United Nations is attempting to seize control of the United States and all its bodily fluids. Following the dictates of Agenda 21, the U.S. government is clearly trying to dictate to the American people what we can and cannot eat. Do you think it’s an accident that they delayed this until after Hussein’s re-election, when he no longer has to worry about running again? Do you think they would have won if this had slipped out two weeks ago?

There are no accidents. There is no such thing as coincidence. It all makes perfect sense, once you think about it hard enough.

Other well-known experts agree with Jackson. As Clyde Lewis at IntelHub points out, Agenda 21 is all about buzzwords such as “environmentally unsustainable.” And what is more “environmentally unsustainable” than fat people?

The point ought to be obvious even to liberals by now:

Proud Americans, denied their Twinkies by Agenda 21

Proud Americans, denied their Twinkies by Agenda 21

“Is it at all surprising that the latest scapegoat is the Obese and how they are now the new target of derision? The Obese consume more than the average human on the planet, they have more health risks and are considered a burden on the idea of global sustainability.

There is in essence a global conspiracy against the obese. It is once again a crisis that has been created by the planners of the global agenda.

It goes against their plan to keep the world order on the brink of starvation. The agenda of the globalists is to tighten the belt on resources and those who consume the most resources will be the first to be considered for the culling….”

That’s right. Face the frightening truth, America. Michelle Obama, as part of Agenda 21, has killed the Twinkie as part of her war on fat people. (Look at her arms. Do you know anybody else with arms like that? Coincidence again?)

Once you know these things, many other things just fall into place, don’t they?

Just yesterday, the Centers for Disease Control released data claiming that the rate of diabetes in the United States is soaring, particularly in the South. Linda Geiss, a supposed “expert” at the CDC, wants us to believe that “the rise in diabetes has really gone hand in hand with the rise in obesity.”

How … convenient.

The foolish and uninformed might think that it’s just coincidence that such an announcement was made JUST ONE DAY before the Twinkie was secretly droned. And it’s just coincidence that they’re focusing SPECIFICALLY on the South. But those of us in the know — and now that means YOU! — understand that there is no such thing as coincidence.

For example, is it coincidence that one of the best ways to fight obesity and diabetes is through exercise, like walking and biking? And that walking and biking is conducted on walking paths and biking paths?

And that walking paths and biking paths are recommended under Agenda 21?

The motive is clear. But how could this plot be implemented?

At the beginning of his administration, you may recall, Hussein bailed out the auto industry, saving hundreds of thousands of union jobs. It just didn’t make sense at the time: Why would a president do that, just to save all those American jobs?

Well, now we know. It comes straight out of the Saul Alinsky playbook. When the opportunity came, Michelle and Hussein called in that favor from Big Labor and insisted that the unions go on strike to kill the Twinkie, putting an end to an important American symbol.

If you ever wondered what Hussein meant when he promised to “fundamentally transform America,” now you know.

Now you know.

Ben Shockley – It would be very much like that. That’s why any cuts in SS being discussed are aimed at workers who might have time to make other arrangements for retirement. But, as boomers (and I am one) suck up existing funds and average wages go down because of the globalized economy, funds into SS aren’t going to keep up with funds going out.

There’s more still to the story…it wasn’t the union workers striking over the latest cuts in pay and benefits, it was the fact that Hostess was bought, along with a number of other bakery companies, by a vulture capitalist ten years or so ago that then named itself International Bakeries Inc., or some such moniker, with a ton of borrowed money. They’ve been in and out of bankruptcy several times – the whole thing, not just Hostess – over the past 6-8 years, borrowing more and more along the way and, in fact, Fortune was predicting their final demise earlier this year. Of course the bakery operations, along with the brand names will be sold off to whatever bidders, who’ll either reopen a non-union operation and declare victory…and the former workers will do without or if they’re lucky go back to work with the next owners at, probably, less than half what they were making.

Imagine that, claiming potential bankruptcy, Hostess had already negotiated a lower flour price with that supplier. Now it says, nope, we need to pay you even less than that for your flour.”

Okay Colbert got “truthiness” but I am defining “Conspiriness”: a quality characterizing a “conspiracy” that a person claims to know intuitively “from the gut”, “the absence of evidence to the contracy”, or because it “all makes sense” without regard to evidence, logic, intellectual examination, facts or reality. Moreover “conspiriness” can be maintained as “accurante” without regard to the original conspiriness claim based on real evidence that proves the original “conspiriness” claim wrong. It is up to those accused to prove sufficient facts to the “conspiriness” asserters to prove them wrong. The failure to do so is more evidence of the “conspiriness”. Those who attempt to refute a conspiriness claim are not informed and a failure to “connect the dots”.

Of course, Jay; it had nothing to do with the guy who drove the truck being “protected” from unloading the truck, and only certain employees being able to unload the Wonderbread. Union labor has never and will never destroy a company or industry. Poor management, poor marketing, poor sales, poor product, or corporate greed are the normal cause.
The loss of good jobs always sux.
People associate unions with communism in the south so the masses favor business leaders. It’s ok to have a fraternal order, the AMA, the Bar Association, or any other organized industry or craft as long as you don’t call it a union.

Hostess had filed for bankruptcy protection previously and was using the lawful exercise of the trustee’s right to negotiate/adjust contracts. The Teamsters had agreed to the adjustments, the bakers’ union said no thanks and when informed that they needed to accept it by a certain date or the company would liquidate, the union continued to say “no” and the company is liquidating. A real bitch when someone tells you something will happen as a result of your action and then the promise is carried through (kind of like dealing with your children). Also unfortunate for the Teamsters and the non union members that lost their jobs. Someone will probably acquire the brands and continue, so fat people everyone can rejoice after a short hiatus in supply. Those in the bakers’ union willingly chose unemployment over a job, albeit one with lower total compensation.

It makes more sense for them to layoff full-time employees and hire part time employees. This is, no doubt, one of the intended results of the legislation.

Rush thinks this will expose a CIA blunder into a deal with mullahs and militias where we dealt with al queda operatives themselves.

I’m certain that Obama will offer to bail out this company so that the union workers will not lose their job.

Good to see that Jay has proven beyond a reasonable doubt that he is what we always new who he was…the biggest @$$ clown to ever write an op-ed

You are an a$$. I get the humor, ha ha. Problem is there is some truth in what people like Beck are saying. If 10% is true, we are completely screwed.

You my friend are part of the problem. A patsy for the globalist whether you realize it or not. This is what they want, make jokes. Write it all off as conspiracy.

The truth is the union could have accepted a 2% pension cut and 8% pay cut. They didn’t.

Now 18,500 are put of work.

The numbers economically keep getting worse. Joke about that.

I was going to link to this on Facebook and then realized some of my more stout friends might not appreciate it as much as I do.

Ah, Twinkies and Ho Hos…a favorite guilty pleasure.

If you believe the rights and dignity of the working man/woman should be respected, vote Democratic.

If you want to be a lifelong serf, content with the pittance your oh-so-godly employer chooses to give you, vote Republican.

You’re a great spimeister Jay. True, Hostess was not run well as of late. They did not change with the times. But, when ask to take a pay cut or have no job, the union EMPLOYEES DECIDED, no job was better. Simple as that. Maybe survive, or don’t survive at all. I guess they know Dear Leader will take care of them.

Hell just blame BUSH….Big O still does— but tell the 18,500 who lost their job.
Twinkie would of had to pay Obamacare $37,000,000.00 if it stayed open for it 18,500 workers.
So blame who the hell you wish and its going to get worse.

They told me if I voted for Mitt Romney that there would be mass layoffs and they were right!

Jay- Have you ever made a payroll? I own a small business, it is rare I meet other business owners who see things like you do. It is so frustrating that journalists cannot fathom that profit is a good thing!

Kevin Riley proclaimed the AJC was going to be more balanced, that lasted a few months. The last weeks before the election and the paper is back to being a Cynthia Tucker styled fish wrapper. Very disappointing!!

Unions….dumb to the bone! But then again, so many of Jay’s posse are in favor of everything with a union label. 18,000+ out of work, whining all the way when they are not victims unless you consider a circular firing squad to be victims. Nature has a way of sorting out the stupid. Good luck with the unemployment line. And you can hear them now…..but, but ,but…..we’re working for minimum wages. PS…you were working when so many would gladly take your jobs. Union arrogance is not a pretty sight!!

Ryan – I have made plenty of payrolls.

Obama passed 17 tax cuts and credits for small biz – I took advantage of just three in 2009-10.

He extended NOL to five years. I needed that. He also allowed full depreciation of capital equipment in 2010 – check.

Obama is a friend to small business.
