The first song ever written was a love song. You know, somebody pledging their ever-lasting love and fidelity to somebody else.
The second song ever written was a cheatin’ song, complaining about the lyin’ SOB who wrote the first song.
Given recent events, it’s time to pay homage to the second oldest song topic. I’ve invited the great Miss Kitty Wells to kick off the evening’s festivities, performing a song dedicated to Paula Broadwell and all the other honky-tonk angels out there, wherever you are.

This Benghazi “scandal” is the biggest load of you know what I think I’ve seen in my time covering politics. Just unbelievable. Every single allegation raised by the right has been proved wrong, from “they lied about the video!!!!!” to “they could have helped but just let them die!!!!”

The administration appears to be either guilty of a cover up, incompetence or both. They’ve created the suspicion of their handling or mishandling of this tragedy that took the lives of four Americans. You can say that it’s a big load of you know what but that doesn’t make you right.

The unclassified talking points of the intelligence directors was almost word for word what Ms. Rice said based on a desire by Petreaus and others to keep classified any possible link to Al-Quaida. Ms. bimbo and others leaked out the classified CIA intel report which was not intended for public broadcast. Of course since Ms. bimbo had classifiied info on her computer, she was the likely source. Unfortunately Ms Rice has integrity and abides by government security regulations unlike Ms. Bimbo who got her info. on the cheating side of town. But she is your hero obviously.

If that is how you view things, so be it.
To live as a defeatist must be an agonizing and painfully slow death.
Our country faces challenges and those challenges will present opportunities.
Once we muzzle the wing-nuts on both sides of the aisle and begin to focus on the things that truly matter, we will be able to capitalize on those opportunities.
Fair taxation, fiscal sanity, energy independence, ecological stability and education are complex issues and there are many ways to approach how to solve them. Neither side is gonna get everything they want, so compromise is key. That is the way of things.
I hope we see a return to the day when both sides can stand proudly on the steps the Capitol and hold up a bill and announce that “This is a good piece of legislation that will benefit the citizens of the United States” They must be allowed to do this without fear of being branded by some self-appointed, bloviating blowhard as some kind of political traitor.
