Agenda 21: The lunacy infiltrating state leaders

Glenn Beck is an entertainer who pitches his schtick at the eagerly deluded and culturally paranoid. Given that we live in a nation of some 300 million, that’s enough of an audience to make a man wealthy.

So when Beck publishes a book titled “Agenda 21,” a fictional warning of a UN takeover of the United States in which the U.S. government is abolished and its citizens are allowed only two functions, “to create clean energy and to create new human life,” it’s easily dismissed as the harmless lunacy that it clearly is.

However, when seven leading GOP members of the Georgia Senate gather in the state Capitol on state taxpayer dollars to hear a lecture on that same “Agenda 21″ preaching much the same craziness, it gets a little more troubling. When Sen. Chip Rogers of Cherokee County submits legislation attempting to further that outlandish conspiracy theory, it gets more troubling still. (It is somewhat of a comfort that Rogers was deposed yesterday in a Senate Republican Caucus meeting.)

And when you consider that others in attendance included Barry Loudermilk, chairman of the Senate Science and Technology Committee; Jack Murphy, chairman of the Senate Banking and Financial Institutions Committee; John Albers, vice chair of the Science and Technology Committee; Bill Heath, chairman of the Senate Finance Committee; and Butch Miller, chairman of the State and Local Governmental Operations Committee, it doesn’t bode well for serious governance.

Now, attendance in a lecture should not be confused with adherence. But based on a 52-minute video and the Powerpoint slides presented, the level of crazy would have sent many a sane person fleeing the room.

For those not well-versed in tin-foil theories, Agenda 21 is an obscure document created in a U.N. conference 20 years ago. If you read the document, it is a perfectly reasonable, utterly harmless recitation of standard land-use planning techniques. It is particularly aimed at developing countries that are trying to adapt to sudden population shifts from rural to urban areas.

But somewhere along the line, sifted through the minds of the paranoid, Agenda 21 becomes something much more sinister. For example, GOP senators attending the Capitol briefing were warned that those spreading the traitorous Agenda 21 have been trained in the use of a mind-control technique known as the Delphi technique. Among the buzzwords that betray influence by Agenda 21 include “best management practices,” “international baccalaureate,” “historic preservation,” “livable communities,” and “public-private partnerships.”

Now, using tax dollars to build a new stadium for the Atlanta Falcons would be a public-private partnership. And while personally I think that’s a bad idea given more pressing public needs, I would not have dreamed of attributing the idea to a U.N.-inspired attempted takeover of the United States. Does that make me a victim of the Delphi technique?

ag21

According to Field Searcy, who made the presentation, the influence of Agenda 21 can already be detected in the Georgia Department of Community Affairs, the Atlanta Regional Commission, the Cumberland Community Improvement District in Cobb County and in Cobb County itself. Searcy also compared President Obama’s creation of a White House Rural Council to Josef Stalin’s five-year development plan that ended in the starvation deaths of millions of Ukrainians, and with Mao Tse Tung’s Great Leap Forward, which also killed tens of millions.

These are the ideas influencing some of this state’s top leadership. Has it become impossible for saner conservative leaders to publicly denounce this stuff for the lunacy that it is? Perhaps so, given that a condemnation of Agenda 21 was even incorporated into the GOP’s 2012 political platform.

As we curently know it, all those programs will change and must to remain viable, aging population-kept alive for 80-90 years, this is not what the programs as currently implemented can cope with, think……..lib or con, think…..

I would suggest before you buy too heavily into the notion that we need “social security reform” because ZOMG people are living longer! — this has been accounted for. There have been very smart people working the tables all along, that is why the retirement age HAS increased over the years and will continue to do so.

You hear any suggestions that we have to make any major adjustments above and beyond what’s already charted? particularly in the heat of some cheezy-ass budget deal? Hang on to your wallet; someone’s trying to pick it.

“what ever they “do” they can only do as much as the electorate will tolerate or abide. This talk that a few politicians will drastically change any landscape against the will of the people is a reach at best…the only mandate they have is to be reelected.

Which is exactly why the people of Georgia should be aware of events such as this.

Well, I’m sorry to see Bookman picking on Chip Rogers again. If it wasn’t for him, we’d all be walking around with chips in our brains that were put there by pinkos wanting to take over our guvmint and turn us into a bunch of librul weenies.

And if you don’t beleive the UN is after us all you got to do is look what happened to this Gen. Petraeus. There he was, the top double-naught spy we had, till the UN turned him into a woman-chasing maniac. Now they’ll put in some pansy that’s liable to get us all killed by the Terrists.

If the UN had their way our troops would all be wearing baby-blue helmets and pink socks and underwear. We’re in danger and I’m awful glad we got a few legislaters willing to listen to the Truth and keep us from being took over by a bunch of Commies and Socialists that want to destroy our Free Innerprize and make us get Gay Married.

Anyhow, I think I’m about as level-headed as anybody in GA and I can see what Bookman is up to. He wants us to laugh at the people that are trying to save us.

Have a good Friday everybody. I’m out here in the cold hauling and lugging and trying to get you ready to swap weird music tonight. And thanks to these good Republican legislaters, you’ll be able to do it in Freedom under a Capitalist system that’s better than anything the UN wants us to do.

Gee what a concept…why didn’t we think of it before. Wait a minute, maybe we have…its called ‘eminent domain’…that’s it. Government takes over private property ‘for the greater good’…and they also get to determine what a ‘just compensation’ is – right after they ‘condemn’ it…and we didn’t need an Agenda 21 or the Delphi Technique – just ask any Native American, or some of the folks that owned property in ‘downtown’ Smyrna. And if you tell a Republican that ‘it’s a profit deal’, you won’t need no Delphi thingy.

I realize you all want to laugh off these secession petitions as a bunch of nut cases, but you need to start paying attention to them. People are fed up with the take, take, take nature of your party and the arrogant “brush them off” attitude your peeps are treating them with. They know we’ve reached the point of no return where the takers outnumber the producers and they can’t stop it. Bros @ 10.19, seriously, I have gone digging more times than I care to recall, trying to find the sort of nefarious stuff darkly (pun intended) hinted at by the J-Rebs of this world.

this is from memory, but far as I could tell, the closest connection I could get to Teh Skary was that out of all the stuff a 5,000 member congregation published over the years, there was one newsletter that gave some sort of “attaboy” symbolic award to charitable work in the neighborhood that Farrakhan’s folks were doing.

no connection whatsoever to the Obamas of course, but never mind that. This was IT. The rest that I could ever dig out of Trinity United Church of Christ, was the sort of left-leaning Christian theology that, absent Wright’s (obviously) fiery and sometimes offensive rhetoric that *I* have read and heard growing up.

I want to inform readers to watch a very important documentary which will air tomorrow at noon on GPB-Knowledge TV. That channel is 246 on Comcast and it is free to Comcast subscribers. This program will also air on the 29th of November on that channel at 9 am, 3 pm, and 8 pm.

The name of the program is “Independent Lens: Park Avenue, Money, Power and the American Dream.”

The forces behind the agenda that Chip Rogers, a major player in ALEC, has implemented in Georgia run much deeper than what posters have thus far surmised. That these wealth/power forces exist in our nation, and that they have worked to influence our national and local politicians for their benefit, is not simply an opinion I am putting forth. This is factual knowledge that was aired on Georgia Public Broadcasting’s Channel 8, early this morning from 3 to 4 am. Even I was stunned by the stealthy shift of our nation’s wealth or money from control by the Middle Class to the top 1%, basically since 1977. Since that time these forces, including the Koch Brothers, deliberately have skewed our nation’s wealth upward and they have had a heavy-handed Liberatian ideology which they wish to perpetuate in America, in ways other than the vote. That is why they have been so stealthy in their goals. They could not accomplish their goals by the vote – and they had tried and failed in that democratic avenue. They have had to manipulate the public to distrust their own government to serve their mercenary and ideological goals. They have tried to dismantle our nation’s public institutions for private ones through scare tactics that many – who are unknowing – have bought into, such as that America is becoming more “Socialistic” under Barack Obama and the Democrats. I am grateful that Progressives in our nation have been exposing their stealthy agenda to the American public in the last few years.

Graphs (moving graphs) were shown on this television broadcast in which most of the wealth of this nation can be seen to have shifted from the Middle Class to the top 1% – in a drastic change from 1977 to the present day. This has not occurred through happenstance. It has been by design. We must wake up to what has been happening in America by stealthy design. Please watch this broadcast tomorrow at Noon on Channel 246 Comcast or on your GPB-Knowledge TV channel.

In my opinion, Sen. Chip Rogers has been influencial in this shift of power away from public institutions and public programs that benefit the Middle Class to programs that serve the interests of the wealth/power forces in our nation. Be wary of legislation that Chip Rogers may put forth in the 2013 Legislative Session in Georgia that will further dismantle public institutions and programs such as traditional public schools, and also be wary of legislation that his fellow ALEC members might put forth, including Rep. Jan Jones, Rep. Edward Lindsey, and Sen. Fran Millar.

The drifting away from the mainstream of America to the absurd of entertainment by the right and then having to clarify the difference of sound logic and absurdity as if one was the same as the other, shows the damage to the weaker foundations, this storm of right wing nuts can do. The last election was refreshing in it did not swallow the reality show entertainment and voted for logic. Only the logical can see this or find value in it, but they are still and forever will be in the majority of this country. The last boat for wingnuts set sail in 2012, the last close election of this generation, the last real shot by the right, under perfect conditions and they lost it.

You would be surprised the misinformation out there of voters who think obamacare is free. I’ve directly seen 3 people so far who thought they were getting free healthcare. The look on one mans face when I broke it to him was priceless. Lotta people gonna get quite a rude awakening in 2014.

How about “Twinkies 21″ !!

You get what you wish for !

“IRVING, Texas — The maker of the iconic U.S. snack Twinkies said Friday it is going out of business and laying off all of its 18,500 workers after a national strike crippled its operations.”

I guess if you are still manufacturing typewriters you may be going out of business as well…..

Mitt just had a good idea: Add dental care to Obamacare. Let’s do it.

gawd, I got a little soundbite of that last night. It speaks volumes that Mitt thinks this might be the craziest, most outlandish sh-t an industrialized nation could provide.

I knew he was probably a flaming a$$hole but didn’t want to assume it… and that’s all I’ll say about that.

That association was not politically acceptable, so he verbaly threw Wright under the bus and you Moonbats beleived it. Michelle is right behind him – see her famous remarks of not being proud to be an American until Obama was nominated.

OMG!! DannyX I had no idea!! After I read your postings, and stopped laughing hysterically, I found myself concerned about the PLIGHT OF THE WORLD!!! (< notice the cap letters?, that means that it’s a really, really, really, REALLY big problem!!)

RMBDS is a major problem that Chip Rogers will be holding hearings on soon.

Thank GOD for Chip!! He’s a great American! All republicans please remember to come to the meeting at Don’s tomorrow night. We’ll be having beer, chips, and OLD YELLER! (<< caps again? This is because Old Yeller is really slang for gay porno). Be there or be straight!! Your choice!

What a shame for his party to show how far down they have gone. Or maybe it’s not a shame, maybe this will force them to get rid of their fools and we can get good ideas back into the government again.

Given that right wingers have been incorrectly claiming for years that Democrats are giving away “free stuff”, and given that these same wingers have been incorrectly referring to the PPACA as “socialized medicine” and setting up “free healthcare” strawmen…

this would surprise you, why?

BOTH, “How is that different from any business owner who passes on as much cost as possible in efforts to maintain profit margin goals?” It’s not, but when you add 5% to the cost of everything the same poor people you’re trying to help purchase, will they better off at the end of the day, or worse off? Do you think the Denny’s owner will be more or less likely to give his employees a raise?

“So now I know not to eat at Denny’s because some tightfisted, loudmouthed jerkwad franchisee might be in charge there.” Apparently, somebody doesn’t care about all these employees and wants them to join the former Hostess employees at the UE office. Sounds like a GREAT plan, doesn’t it!!
