UPDATE deserving of a “Seriously?!”
From the Washington Post:
“The collapse of the dazzling career of CIA Director David H. Petraeus was triggered when a woman whom he was having an affair with sent threatening e-mails to another woman close to him, according to three senior law enforcement officials with knowledge of the episode.
The recipient of the e-mails was so frightened that she went to the FBI for protection and help tracking down the sender, according to the officials. The FBI investigation traced the threats to Paula Broadwell, a former military officer and a Petraeus biographer, and uncovered explicit e-mails between Broadwell and Petraeus, the officials said….
The identity of the woman who received the e-mails was not disclosed, and the nature of her relationship with Petraeus is unknown. The law enforcement officials said the e-mails indicated that Broadwell perceived the other woman as a threat to her relationship with Petraeus.”
——————-
Back in July, the “Ethicist” column in the New York Times Magazine published a strange, anonymous letter that in hindsight probably set many a tongue wagging in Washington, D.C., and is doing so again in light of recent news events.
Here’s the letter:
My wife is having an affair with a government executive. His role is to manage a project whose progress is seen worldwide as a demonstration of American leadership. (This might seem hyperbolic, but it is not an exaggeration.) I have met with him on several occasions, and he has been gracious. (I doubt if he is aware of my knowledge.) I have watched the affair intensify over the last year, and I have also benefited from his generosity. He is engaged in work that I am passionate about and is absolutely the right person for the job. I strongly feel that exposing the affair will create a major distraction that would adversely impact the success of an important effort. My issue: Should I acknowledge this affair and finally force closure? Should I suffer in silence for the next year or two for a project I feel must succeed? Should I be “true to my heart” and walk away from the entire miserable situation and put the episode behind me?
NAME WITHHELD
As Chuck Klosterman, author of the ethics column, noted in his perceptive response, “The fact that you’re willing to accept your wife’s infidelity for some greater political good is beyond honorable. In fact, it’s so over-the-top honorable that I’m not sure I believe your motives are real. Part of me wonders why you’re even posing this question, particularly in a column that is printed in The New York Times… I halfway suspect you’re writing this letter because you want specific people to read this column and deduce who is involved and what’s really going on behind closed doors (without actually addressing the conflict in person). That’s not ethical, either.”

I am not sure why this is a big deal. There is so much immorality in this country anyway, and he has outed himself, so what! I would bet money that most of the men in high office in Washington cheat on their wives. We only know about the few that get caught.

Wow, what a bombshell. The husband knew. How it must have hurt so much that he was driven to write the letter in obvious delerium over his beautiful wife’s hormonal histrionics. We’ve all been there. We’ve all been left holding the big bag of sheet at the end of a relationship, with our guts on the floor. It’s better not to have loved at all, then to suffer the hormonal histrionics of a true horn dog that you couldn’t have imagined she was actually like that. Life is not worth living if your experience is the pain of witnessing your partner’s hormonal histrionics.

Well, it’s as plain as the nose of your face this letter writer ain’t a good solid GA redneck. Now a redneck, if he come across evidence his wife was cheating on him, sure as heck wouldn’t write a letter to a newspaper column editor. No, the redneck would grab a couple weapons and head over to where this guy lived. That is, after shooting his low-down, lyin’, cheatin’ wife 10 or 12 times. Then he’d probly burn the guy’s trailer down after shooting the guy like a mad dog and get into a big chase with a bunch of cops and make them shoot him.
Seems to me this guy ain’t a real Manly Man. He could come down here and learn a thing or two.

The too old, too fat, too white, too male GOP will, like everything else, say it was “kept secret” to “influence” the election. They couldn’t manufacture a win with the economy, the debt, gitmo, Benghazi or anything else.
When those they elected they are finally forced to dump grover and tear up their allegiance to a person and live up to their Constitutional oath’s (support and defend) they will come to the table and approve appropriate tax increases and spending cuts.
Till then we’ll all have to live with what happens.

I figure he was outed by one of his fellow Generals. After all, his rise in rank and position was rather meteoric, enabling him to pass Generals in what was his current rank but senior by time in grade as well as Generals up to two paygrades higher. I can guarantee these personnel were not happy by General Petraeus being given the opportunity over one of the more senior Generals.

Doggone, I “know” a number of stories involving top folks in Georgia politics, BUT:
1.) While I may believe I know, I don’t know to the degree of certainty required for publication, which involves witnesses willing to go on the record, independent verification, etc. It is absolutely better to let 30 such situations go unreported than to falsely accuse people.
2. In some cases, there’s no public-policy issues involved, as there would be in sleeping with lobbyists, sleeping with subordinates, sexual harassment, etc. It’s just people being people, meaning that they make mistakes just like everyone else. As far as I’m concerned, that’s their business and problem, not mine.
In other cases, it DOES involve such compromising situations, but unfortunately, Rule One still applies. I am aware of one situation in particular that bugs the hell out of me, but so far can’t get on the record and probably never will.
If that changes, you’ll know.

The problem with many of these appointments is they bring in someone who has absolutely no idea of what they are “really” supposed to do or anything about the agency and of course career employees resent that ………….. therefore, you are not going to get by with anything.
There are pros and cons of course but overall I believe it’s better for heads of agencies to come from within the agency ………………. CIA, FBI, USSS, etc., etc.

Jay: When I was covering NASCAR I also covered ARCA (a lower series). I was told the first day I started covering the series that Ray Evernham was sleeping with his driver, Erin Crocker. I never reported it nor did any one else. WHat did it have to do with racing? But then his Cup series driver, Jeremy Mayfield gets his fee fees hurt and outs Ray to the whole world. He (Mayfiled) would have a better car if Ray wasn’t having an affair blah blah blah……….. suddenly it was ‘big news” as probably Bro or any other posters here familiar with NASCAR can tell you.
Was I wrong in not saying anything? I saw drivers with all KINDS of women. Heck before I started writing about NASCAR I was friends with a lady that was a “track lizard.” I’m STILL friends with her. get: I’m firmly convinced that NASCAR does all it can do to fix results. Remember how after Dale Earnhardt died the cars of DEI mysteriously were faster than any other cars? If anyone reports badly about NASCAR or a team reveals a scandal they are black balled. I personally know a couple of reporters who are not allowed on any NASCAR property and any teams that are found to have talked to them suddenly start failing inspections.
The best drivers aren’t in the cars, the drivers with the most money are. There are many more reasons, there’s no point in covering them here. I will say though that our website was one of the very few not owned by NASCAR or ESPN or another major news organization to have NASCAR credentials to all races, tracks and events. ESPN noticed us and made some offers. I had a little following and Jayski picked me up.
But you know how I am, I was close to being banned. I was working on some stuff that would definitely have gotten me black balled had I been able to finish it. But like Jay said, you have to have the collaboration good enough to go to trial and some of my sources chickened out at the last minute so all i was left with was “unproven allegations.” The season is long and I missed my family after a couple of years. I don’t fly so i drove to the races. I covered Cup, Trucks, Nationwide, ARCA, some IRL, Hooters Procup when it was still alive and a local series called GAS (Georgia Asphalt Series). LOL I was covering Joey Logano when he was 15 years old driving in Hooters Procup. I was friends with Brad Kesolowski’s family, not him so much but his brother especially, (I picked the wrong brother to support lol).

getalife: Sorry, I forgot to answer you. I was on the phone when you posted. There are 5 undefeated teams if you count probation baby Ohio State, but only 4 if you are talking about BCS eligible. It’s going to suck when Georgia beats Alabama because that will mean an SEC team doesn’t make the playoff game even though we ARE the best. People are tired of us and a 1 loss SEC team isn’t going to trump 2 undefeated teams from weak conferences.

Holy crap on a crutch!
The collapse of the dazzling career of CIA Director David H. Petraeus was triggered when a woman with whom he was having an affair sent threatening e-mails to another woman close to him, according to three senior law enforcement officials with knowledge of the episode.
The recipient of the e-mails was so frightened that she went to the FBI for protection and help tracking down the sender, according to the officials. The FBI investigation traced the threats to Paula Broadwell, a former military officer and Petraeus biographer, and uncovered explicit e-mails between Broadwell and Petraeus, the officials said.

Nov 10. Hello.
As I see it, some men enjoy relationships with women.
Some women enjoy relationships with men. I want to be in love, but I want my freedom to, they often say.
Getting married puts the breaks on wonderful,
marvelous, facinating, deep relationships,
and friendships between men and women.
I see life full of freedom. Restrictions on who we love,
or how many we love are normal, traditional, standard.
What a waste of the wonderfulness of life.
Sexuality is such a spectacular gift from a woman to a man.
Sex and love are just amazing. I still love and admire each woman
who was ever generous enough to spend their time with me
as my girlfriend. I truly love each one with unconditional love
to this day. Each moved on. Most got married. Some are friends
today. I love them all so much it fills my heart with joy.
I love to hear their voice when they call. For the meaning of
life is found in my love for woman. I was never a player, never a playboy,
I just truly loved women since I fell for Collette in the second grade.

Well, this just goes to show that no matter how cool the people having a affair think they are, one of them is likely to go haywire sooner or later and probly the woman. My buddy Jim Earl says it just proves how true some lines wrote by a guy named Nash is:

I read it in the times long ago. Too bad these opinionators employed by the AJC have missed so many interesting pieces of information found in the Public Editor columns at that paper. Affairs, adultery, gossip—those bits of *news* have little or no effect on us. The Times has had a few honest PE’s and their fights with the news section are sometimes enlightening. It seems most of the media report about half of the news we should be receiving. Maybe that is one reason so many reporters are considered merely democrats with a byline. Many losing candidates became elder statesmen of their parties. What lessons will Romney have to teach his party? The art of crawling uselessly? How to contemn 47 percent of Americans less privileged and beautiful than his family? How to repudiate the past while damaging the future? It is said that he will write a book. Really? Does he want to relive a five-year-long experience of degradation? What can be worse than to sell your soul and find it not valuable enough to get anything for it? His friends can only hope he is too morally obtuse to realize that crushing truth. Losing elections is one thing. But the greater loss, the real loss, is the loss of honor.

Posted from Kam’s link (earlier) from one of the bloggers — felt it had to be repeated (emphasis are mine):
The list goes on and on on how not to alienate those you claim you wish to serve. One can’t be the CEO president and ask that we become your employees. That’s not the relationship most Americans want with their president.
One can’t dismiss repeated requests for more information (e.g., financial) and expect that voters will forget that they asked and you refused. One can’t know that your five sons are sitting on a $100 million trust fund and that you ask other fathers and mothers to send their sons and daughters off to fight Iraq and Russia
And one should never know that you think them weak, unreliable, and lazy because they no longer go to an office, a factory, or a school to work because they’ve either worked 30 years or had a disability that prevented them from doing so, or was laid off because their jobs were outsourced to another country…..and on, and on, and on.
Democrats and Republicans, and any potential third party candidates can all learn a valuable lesson from Mr. Romney. You probably shouldn’t run for the nation’s highest office if you don’t like and respect your fellow countrymen and women simply because they don’t neatly and nicely fit your possibly skewed view of the world.
Americans don’t need another “boss” in the White House, they need someone who has their back (a popular Obama refrain, but it’s true).
I think Mr. Romney will inevitably come to the conclusion that Americans didn’t realize what it had in him; Americans, for their part, have indeed concluded that Mr. Romney didn’t have IT in him.

It appears that someone closer to the government official than the husband wrote the letter published by the New York Times. The writer appeared to be very interested in the ongoing project, knew what was required of the person doing the work, and realized the significance of the project. This is an indicator that someone with regular access to the government official and a similiar background wrote the letter.

Dear Abby,
My wife is having an affair with a government executive.

I would sit on that info until after the upcoming election. Obama has enough problems on his plate, and he needs to concentrate on doing the job he was elected to do. We have the media in our pocket anyway, but we don’t want to take any chances. Be a good comrade for the mother country.

We attended a Veterans Day celebration today in Williamson, GA, a small town about 6 mi SE of Griffin. In addition to the many older aircraft there were displays of WWII gear, vehicles and exhibits. The highlight of the day was about half an hour one on one with a WWII veteran who had flown artillery spotter missions for General George Patton. Another gentleman in his early 90s flew P-51 fighter escort missions for B-17s and yet another spent about two years in a Stalag german prison camp after being shot down and surviving. The one thing all of these men seemed to have in common was their love of country and their patriotism. Nothing, even their families, seemed to have the status of the country that they fought and suffered for. Let us pause next Monday to thank these individuals for their sacrifice and their service to our country…….. they are indeed people that we should hold in our prayers.

I just have this natural tendency to worry about people who are making it too hard on themselves.
Our side makes Romney look really, really bad. Your side makes Obama look really, really bad.
The truth is that they are both very motivated men who wanted to have an opportunity to lead this country, probably for a variety of reasons, some good and some bad. Obama won.
I think he won because he moved rapidly toward the center after he was sworn in, and nursed us through the worst economic illness of almost a century. Pundits said, in large numbers, that the recovery might very well take a decade.
He was thrust into the executive position at one of the worst moments in our country’s history. I have been infuriated at his post-inaugural swerve to the right, but in sum, looking at the results of this election, I think it reflects badly on you that you give him so little credit for what he has accomplished in his relatively brief adult lifetime.

Veterans deserve much more…I’d never been to Golden Corral but some years ago, the North Point location was the largest grossing restaurant in the state…took one of my kids there…fascinating experience despite the food:-)
Given the fact that our troops IMO haven’t been sent to a necessary war since 1942, I think they deserve more than access to the food trough…if they don’t already pay taxes, they deserve lifetime exception..federal , state, local, and property..

Stevie Ray: Golden Corral is awesome. If you don’t eat healthy there it is your own fault. Their food is consistent from location to location and always hot and fresh. The breakfast they do is phenomenal as well. Again, if you don’t have a healthy breakfast it’s because you chose not to.
I haven’t been to one in years, and it’s never my first (or even 5th lol) choice, but if I’m with someone or a group and they decide to go to Golden Corral I won’t “not go” as I will with other places lol.

Are we living in a sick world of what, where people think any of these mega ego maniacs are worth watching your wife sacrificed to the betterment of a nation that would probably do very well without whomever. I have said many times and will continue to say gay marriage is not the undoing of this country, the undoing of the institution of marriage which bubbles into the undoing of family, the casualness of this execution, is exactly what is killing this country. We are all human is the catchall for this, but for a man to take another man’s wife, the mother of his sons and that same man be responsible for the decisions of life or death to thousands. ,moral decisions, is highly unacceptable. This same breach of logic and thinking will show up in other matters and weaken this country.

I think what Romney said about the 47%er’s was stupid and the least. However, I don’t see that as exactly what he meant in his collosal gaffe, not matter who (Left of FOX) take ill advantage of it…I still think the intent was to suggest that he conceded (most) of the votes in the income range of folks not paying taxes..to suggest that he specifically meant SS, Veterans, and others that are the common allegations by the majority of those on this blog is ridiculous..despite what he said..
I don’t view it as much different than what BO said about “building this..” except in this instance, his speechwriter left an opening as he didn’t correct until end of next paragraph..

To be clear, I’m not a big supporter of FOX or any other news outlet…they are all biased but I do watch both with about the same (MSNBC, major networks) so if you are trying to categorize this by the traditional FOX, anti left agenda, please don’t.
Those on the lunatic fringe of either party anally analyse every word..up to and including puncutation…since hate and divisiveness rule with these folks, anything they can get to further class divide and sensational crap is the primary goal..
No way either meant, from the heart, the interpretation as suggested by the respective biased media…the election is over…it appears neither lost material votes as a result of either gaffe…Romney was correct in the respect that he would get no support from that demographic..the text supports this position, and BO was correct in the respect (despite poor wording knowing the media bloodhounds) that according to his party’s platform for decades, thinks big government should get kudos for the success of any and all..

71, that was an awesome post last night. Salute!
And what I write next is NOT about me, I just want to relay the story.
I have three different customers who send me the most awesome Veteran’s Day cards.
These three ladies all rock! One is an attorney who helps veterans and families with their benefits and the other two are just great people, business owners and Americans.
Man, has the world changed since I got my discharge on January 1, 1977!
I never encountered any animosity by civilians (other than for the nine months that I was stationed in Biloxi, Mississippi – another story and a shameful one at that) but vets were just kind of ignored/tolerated back then.
Now?
The VA rocks the healthcare scene and without trying to get too political, Americans *see* the “handiwork” of our war-mongering administrations up close and personal.
AGAIN, this is not about me. But find a vet or active duty military family near you and see what you can do to help.
Then, we all win.

Romney was correct in the respect that he would get no support from that demographic..
Which demographic?? You talking about the 47% that don’t have a fed income tax liability?? If you’re talking about that group, then you and Romney both need to go back and look at the political leanings of the groups that belong to the 47%.

Veterans’ Day. My dad. Air Force. Flew Gooney Birds in ‘Nam. Jugs in ‘44. Sabers in ‘51. He said he never landed or took off in Vietnam without someone on the ground throwing up small arms junk at him. Bravest man I ever knew. I could probably take a couple of incidents of flak before I put in for ground duty. He served an entire year in Nam in 1969-1970. He did his duty as God gave him the light to see that duty. He never wavered in his faith in both God and Country. He was conservative. He was disappointed in me, of course, and when I played his nurse for the last six months of his life, he let me know every single day just what a total failure he thought I was/am. But it didn’t matter. It was me or a nursing home, and no veteran, who flew combat missions in three wars, is going to a nursing home if I can help it. It was a privilege to assist him, make him comfortable, cook his breakfasts and dinners, (he rarely wanted lunch), and just plain appreciate him.
Thanks Veterans of America.

Georgia, you are a good son. You should be proud of what you did. I don’t even know you and I am…

It’s in my blood and in my bones
By the dawn’s early light, by all I know is right
We’re going to reap what we have sown
As if freedom was a question of might
As if loyalty was black and white
You hear people say it all the time
“My country wrong or right”
I want to know what that’s got to do
With what it takes to find out what’s true
With everyone from the President on down

I see. Our Commander in Chief, our President, the most powerful man in the world is the traitor. Yeah, you folks have been saying that for almost 4 years now. Does it make you feel like a real man to get on the internet and diminish our President like this? Do you somehow think it makes us as a nation look grand when you and your talk show/fox puppet masters do it all the time? Somehow you are NOT emboldening terrorists? I mean if you have so little respect for our Country and the highest office in our Country, why would a terrorist?
Naw, I’d say it’s YOU who are the terrorist, the one who has done nothing but attempt to destroy our Country and demean us for the last 4 years. You will NEVER do anything to help this Country unless some asshat who is acceptable to your puppet masters is elected, which the way things are looking will be never. Instead you will work against us.

Now, the word “traitor.” That is patently absurd and hyperbole run amok. Treachery or treacherous? Not to bring up the Wah-uh, but even there the charge of treason was not brought to official determination.

This older gentleman (turns out he was born in 1925, like my mom) and I got to talking and he told me that he served with Patton AND in the Pacific. When I told him that I was a vet (but nothing like him!) he shook my hand and put his arm around my shoulders as I saluted him.
I know the word gets overused sometimes, but to me, he is an American hero!
And my life is richer for having shared a couple of moments of it with him…

Well, let’s just say he doesn’t take criticism very well! I don’t like the use of the word cavalierly either. To me it connotes an intent to harm, or actual harm, to this country. There’s nothing in someone criticizin this country, or even vowing to leave it, that comes even close to harm to the country.

A divorce? That’s what Judah P told Jeff Davis to call it…no charge of treason against the latter…that charge, though, was certainly in the works for the scion, of as Andrew Johnson called him, “from a race of traitors.” Was it Cantor calling for a “divorce?” If it was, he might be more careful…

That’s a true rebel with a lower case “r,” proud descendant of long lines thereof as the Spanish gitanos say “de las cuartro costas.” There are revolutions which, most optimistically, are peaceful efforts to change/alter the actual government of the state without altering the framework of the state and there are those, most often not quite so peaceful, which aim to alter the framework of the state itself. The former can, and often does, degenerate into the latter. We see the prime example of that in Syria now and it is turning into a battle between those opposed to and revolting against the regime (government) and those who would alter the framework of the state itself, the Shariahist inspired.

“A coup d’état typically uses the extant government’s power to assume political control of the country. In Coup d’État: A Practical Handbook, military historian Edward Luttwak states that “[a] coup consists of the infiltration of a small, but critical, segment of the state apparatus, which is then used to displace the government from its control of the remainder.” The armed forces, whether military or paramilitary, are not a defining factor of a coup d’état.”

No. That’s parsing. A movement need not be a revolution. A revolution is generally predicated on a movement, the latter being the earlier steps of the former. Movement and revolution are broad terms. We can have the labor movement, the gay rights movement, the women’s movement, the civil rights movement, etc. We can have the industrial revolution, the revolution of rising expectations, the technological revolution, A rebellion is another thing, we can have the youth rebellion of the 1960s, the War of the Rebellion, the Catholic Rebellion in Ulster, etc. etc, The aims are to alter the fabric of the society and to fundamentally change to government/regime, but not the fundamental structure/framework of the state.

With the facts coming out it is clear Petraeus used extreme poor judgement and the Obama administration’s DOJ sat on this until after the election. We don’t know at this point when the president was informed but congressional leadership wasn’t told in a timely manner nor as far as we know now was the president but that’s uncertain. This is very troubling and the public needs to know. It’s the duty of congress to find out and divulge the truth regardless of how far up the chain it goes.

We have learned that congressional leadership was not informed as they should have been by law.
Really?
The first knowledge of the affair outside the FBI came from an agency whistle-blower who contacted a Capitol Hill Republican who told House Majority Leader Eric Cantor.
Rep. Dave Reichert, R-Wash., got a tip from a friend who knew the whistle-blower, as reported by The New York Times.
Sources tell Fox News that Reichert talked to the whistle-blower, then referred him to Cantor. The whistle-blower talked to the majority leader’s office, then to Cantor directly. The whistle-blower — who purportedly was concerned about a possible national security breach — was then put in touch with FBI Director Robert Mueller.

(CNN) — In 2009, we wrote a book, “40 More Years: How Democrats Will Rule the Next Generation.” Building on Ruy Teixeira and John Judis’ 2002 tour de force “The Emerging Democratic Majority” predicting the 2008 election, we argued that America’s diversifying and increasingly liberal youth voters would secure a lasting Democratic majority.
Some analyses have tried to make 2012 about single women or educated white women or some other narrow slice of the electorate. They’re thinking small. The big picture is this: Democrats are continuing to win big with the demographic groups that are growing; Republicans are still struggling to increase support with shrinking base voter groups.

(CNN) — As televised theater, it was hard to beat. As political prognostication, it was a head-scratching moment. As partisan warfare, it was nothing short of audacious.
But Karl Rove’s insistence that Barack Obama had not carried Ohio — despite the call by his own network, Fox News, that the president had done just that — represented something larger. It captured, for some long and awkward moments, the refusal of some in the media-and-politics game to accept reality.

NOTE: The Republican points out that reports indicate the White House learned of this at 5PM on Election Day, upon receipt of a phone call from the FBI.
(CNN) – The top Republican on the House Homeland Security Committee said Sunday that the length of the FBI’s investigation into David Petraeus’ extramarital affair raises serious questions about the government’s response to potentially comprised intelligence.
Rep. Peter King, who made the remarks on CNN’s “State of the Union,” joined Democratic Sen. Dianne Feinstein, the chairwoman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, in expressing concern over how the FBI and other federal agencies handled the investigation into the former CIA director’s affair, and specifically why members of Congress with oversight over intelligence and homeland security weren’t briefed on the discoveries.
“I have questions about the whole matter,” Rep. Peter King told CNN chief political correspondent Candy Crowley, pointing to reports that the White House first learned of the affair in a phone call from the FBI to Director of National Intelligence James Clapper at 5 p.m. on election night.

Marital infidelity is a detriment to families when there is deception. Many marriages, however, are more like roommate arrangements and infidelity is pretty much inevitable. Hard to pass judgment without knowing the inner workings of the relationship. I think we are way too interested in the common case. That said:
When a member of the intelligence community adds a secret relationship to his resume, that is a matter of national security. Families of intelligence officers are generally well known to the community before a clearance is granted. Petraus knew better and his judgment shows a level of incompetence we heretofore did not know. He wants a new partner, divorce and introduce the new partner. Spies can’t keep secrets from their fellow spies. Bad for business.

“Frustrated residents joined lawmakers in calling for a shakeup of the Long Island Power Authority as 100,000 of the state agency’s customers remain blacked out two weeks after Hurricane Sandy.
The state-owned authority’s customers accounted for about two-thirds of the 166,500 homes and businesses still without power yesterday after Sandy and a subsequent snowstorm affected more than 8.6 million, according to the U.S. Energy Department.”

No one really knows why the cia director resigned. What he said perhaps was the truth and than news medias start a lot of guessing. to much hearsay adds fires to the blaze but to keep it going many keep adding fuel with hopes that it somehow comes back to the President and blames might somehow fall in the wrong laps while in so many cases that we really don’t know the real truth. CIA directors often do not get caught in the catch-22. I am sure this is not one of them. He told the truth and the bottom line we fail to accepted it and want something else negative since we live and see a lot of things here in America….negative.

From one of my dear Todd Rundgren friends
The time after an election is always emotional. Over my lifetime of political activism, there have been times I’ve personally been elated and times I’ve personally been heartbroken. That’s the way a democracy works and that’s why we love it. To those who are sad, I’m sorry you are hurting and I definitely know how it feels–of course we’ve ALL been on both sides of victory celebrations. Now we must move forward together, as one Union. We must love one another. Love is the Answer.

Doesn’t it sound a bit unusual that the FBI would be devoting agency resources to investigate allegations of ‘harassing’ emails between two females, only to discover and disclose that one of the women was having an affair with Director of the CIA? Lo and behold this discovery, along with Petraeus’ resignation and Hillary’s anticipated departure, will likely mean that neither will testify in the Benghazi hearings. Like other scenarios within the Obama administration, this one stinks to high heaven.

“how DO you think Obama won??”
I’ll resist the urge to say “well, he got more votes…”
You know me, I’d have to say it’s a multivariate thing (Word of the Day!)
Everything from the neocon self-indulgent primary that those outside the Republican base saw as a reason for revulsion, not attraction, to Democrats simply out-maneuvering the acquisitions guru; to muddled messages, including the influence of superpacs miscalculating what would resonate; to not opening up early and staying with what seemed obvious (Obama’s a good guy, but look at the economy, the deficit, he just wasn’t up to the task so let’s thank him and retire him); to not anticipating and quickly countering the overarching themes of candidate definition the Democrats employed; to the Party’s tendency, when it sees messaging isn’t working (particularly on the social issues) to become more entrenched and insular, not introspective and adaptable (I guess these guys really don’t believe in evolution as response to change and adaptability to survive); to their power brokers and media being more concerned with ratings and money than with charting a course to victory that has appeal to more than a minority percent of the populace; to… oh, how long to go on?
So they can adapt and survive or dig in and dwindle. I’m guessing after a whole lot of public self-flagellation one faction will emerge and drag most, kicking and screaming, into the new political reality while the Coulters and Bozells and Hannities and the like will disengage and run alongside, screaming invective and upping their book and speakers’ fees.
