Apparently, the ad below has caused Republicans to triple their usual order for fainting couches. Kelly Fenton, deputy chair of the Minnesota Republican Party, tweeted yesterday that Satan must now be serving as Obama’s campaign adviser. The always reliable Erick Erickson of RedState.com preached that it’s evidence “we live in a fallen world destined for hellfire.”
That noted defender of American womanhood and feminine virtue, Rush Limbaugh, even denounced the ad as “an insult to women everywhere.” There is no truth to the rumor that he and his pals then boarded a plane bound for the Dominican Republic, copious supplies of Viagra in their baggage. Or maybe there is, I wouldn’t want to speculate.
Anyway, here’s the ad:
The ad won’t appear on mainstream TV, and probably not on TV anywhere at all. It is designed to be shared, on Facebook and elsewhere, by those for whom it is a target audience and who, given the comments of leading Republicans such as Richard Mourdock of Indiana and Todd Akin of Missouri, might have a lot at stake in this election. It was posted on Youtube yesterday, and already has more than a million views.
As for those outraged by the decline of today’s young people well, we’ve been down this road many many times before, now haven’t we?
————–
“Edgar! Edgar! Get in here and see what’s happening on the Sullivan show! It’s that Presley boy and he’s … ohmygoodness! … Did you see what he did with his … his hips? They let them do that on the television? My gracious! Did you see that Edgar!”
“It’s shocking, Maude, I do declare this country is destined for ….”
“Hush Edgar!! Hush! Get away from the TV, you old man, I think he’s gonna do it again!!

Of those three games the only one I had right was the Bama game so I’ll consider myself excused in your heart, ignored by the Ivy League that considers me a cretin anyway, and excused by the UGA crowd that;s too busy partying to realize that beating Ole Miss and Auburn only means they get drubbed by Alabama pre bowl selection.

You’re always in my good graces. I had a feeling that Florida would get upended. I also predicted a mild upset with my alma mater today, they took care of business with Isaiah Crowell running for two touchdowns. Looks as though I’m going to end tonight 3 for 3. Sad part is, I’ll be one tired and cranky SOB tomorrow for staying up to watch this game.

So why is she bothering us then?
She was not bothering us. If you actually read her testimony, she was trying to explain that birth control pills, aka estrogen pills or hormone therapy, are prescribed for reasons other than young girls f**king. There are serious medical issues that are treated in that manner. She was trying to explain that allowing people to opt out of that coverage because of their perceived ideas of what they would be used for is dumb and it’s unnecessarily putting womens’ lives at risk. Yet, for some reason, there is a group of neanderthals that can’t seem to untie estrogen pills to anything not related to coitus.
If you actually knew someone who had a medical issue serious enough that hormone therapy was one of the few things that helped them, you would probably understand things a bit better. Unlike you apparently, I know people in that shape and know enough about the medical field to understand her point.

Re the gettin’ paid for it women: I would put money on it that almost 100% of those getting paid for it would opt out if they had a decent education providing other options.
Question for those who condemn the sad women who opt for getting paid for it: what have you done to help those young women avoid having to make such a choice? The movie “Pretty Woman” is NOT reality.

If you had a daughter and somebody called her that, for any reason, you’d feel a whole lot differently about it. Rush is allowed his opinion and allowed to express it. And everyone sane is allowed to call him out when he’s wrong. There are many on the conservative side of this who don’t understand the medical needs that may require hormone therapies or just don’t care. “Why doesn’t a Georgetown grad have enough common sense to walk down to health services and pick up a free condom like your average middle school girl?”
When all else fails, head to the gutter, eh? She’s never mentioned why she takes it, that I’ve heard, and it isn’t anyone’s business. Funny that just about every insurance I know of pays for Viagra and other ED meds, but we gotta argue about birth control pills? Sadly ironic that we think it’s okay to give a guy a stiffie but will argue over paying for a woman’s right to birth control pills. It would be funny if it weren’t so sad. So if these same folks who don’t want to pay for birth control refused to pay for the ED meds, would guys who need them be up in arms? I suspect they would…but then a lot of women wouldn’t need birth control without the man having his little blue pill, so maybe there’s a solution to the problem after all.
And as for your daughter, kudos for the med school choice! That’s not a profession I’d have the gall to get into as demanding as it is. She’s gotta be smart and tough to go after that goal. You should be very proud!
And to be honest, it didn’t get me too bothered when Rush called her that. It’s the context of discussing birth control pills that someone will insert such an inflammatory name into that bothers me. I don’t think it helps the discussion to try to connect the two. I know a lot of women who take it because they’re either newly married and not financially stable enough to support kids or they’ve had enough of them and don’t want to take the chance of more (I’ve got a couple of nuts in the family that pop ‘em out like a toaster who I wish would take the pill). A condom isn’t 100% effective- a point I make to my teenage boys every time they get to chasing another skirt around town. If a religious organization only hires those of like mind, then they shouldn’t have a problem. Solution- don’t hire anyone who doesn’t agree with the policy, and don’t take a job with them if you don’t agree. That would limit their hiring pool perhaps, but it would end the issue.

My sister did when she was a teen. I also talked to my oldest boy’s girlfriend’s mother the other day. She’s concerned because her daughter has massive and lengthy periods. Doctor wants to try bc because of the hormone balancing so the periods should be easier. Mom’s concerned as am I about the encouragement that might give the kids to get busy. Mom even took her to another doctor for a second opinion. New doc gave the same recommendation. You should read some about it. There are other uses for it that have been discovered in recent decades.

Lots of girls and young women take low doses of birth control pills for a variety of health reasons. Some of the doses are not large enough to prevent pregency.
Time for people who are not aware of it to do some reading about medical issues and treatment. That would eliminate a lot of posts that demonstate total ignorance of the issue.
BC pills are a medicial treatment for a number of medical problems. Not just for use in preventing pregency.

“After my hs girlfriend got put on the pill you could set your watch by her period. It did help us be irresponsible, but it wasn’t something we weren’t already doing anyway.”
That is what scares me, and I’m sure I’d breathe a little easier. My boy’s generally responsible, but he is a teenager, and girls aren’t as shy as they used to be.
I know about the higher functioning teen. Makes for a proud, if often exasperated parent. Keep at it though, it’s worth it. Even if she complains, make her take AP classes. I just about pulled my hair out getting through the science, but it really is good prep for college.
I still maintain the flap over bc is, in the end, just another example of pandering to the far right to keep the focus off of the lack of clarity on a host of other issues. If enough are blabbering about that and abortion, then maybe Romney gets to squeak by on his fuzzy math and moderate nature. I still don’t know how he played the uber-conservative in the primaries and won, but he evidently is quite the slick performer. One thing I’ll give him is that he must be a good negotiator in business, and if he can do the back and forth he’s done in the campaign and make it believable, then he just might be able to be the moderate in the WH and actually convince the TP folks he’s working for them too. Guess we’ll find out if he gets the chance soon enough.

News is supposed to be about the odd, or unusual. therefore when a dog bites a man it’s considered commonplace and not especially newsworthy. On the other hand, when a man bites a dog that’s unusual, and worth reporting. If we apply this standard to Jay’s piece, it clearly doesn’t meet the criteria. Republicans being outraged isn’t newsworthy as they’re always outraged about something. their mission in life seems to be finding out what they’re mad about today.

A recurring theme in Republican mythology, is the notion that America was a pretty swell place before Progressive types ruined it for everybody. Jay’s Elvis on Ed Sullivan reminds us all of the peaceful Idyllic fifties. Blacks were at the back of the bus, Gays in the closet, and the Mexicans were off picking tomato’s somewhere.
Ward Cleaver, and Jim Anderson would return home, from their mystery jobs, to be warmly greeted by their adoring families. Then they’d all sit down to the nice warm diner the little woman had lovingly prepared for them.
Life was good. No foreign wars in Korea. No race riots In Little Rock. Best of all,the top marginal tax rates were only 90%. Small wonder that Mitt wants wants to take us back to this kinder gentler time when everybody was so much happier. At least that’s the way it seemed from our tiny black and white TV’s.

http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/polycystic-ovary-syndrome/DS00423
Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a common hormonal disorder among women of reproductive age. The name of the condition comes from the appearance of the ovaries in most, but not all, women with the disorder — enlarged and containing numerous small cysts located along the outer edge of each ovary (polycystic appearance).
Infrequent or prolonged menstrual periods, excess hair growth, acne and obesity can all occur in women with polycystic ovary syndrome. In adolescents, infrequent or absent menstruation may signal the condition. In women past adolescence, difficulty becoming pregnant or unexplained weight gain may be the first sign.
The exact cause of polycystic ovary syndrome is unknown. Early diagnosis and treatment may reduce the risk of long-term complications, such as type 2 diabetes and heart disease.
http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/polycystic-ovary-syndrome/DS00423/DSECTION=treatments-and-drugs
Polycystic ovary syndrome treatment generally focuses on management of your individual main concerns, such as infertility, hirsutism, acne or obesity.
Medications
Your doctor may prescribe a medication to:
Regulate your menstrual cycle. If you’re not trying to become pregnant, your doctor may recommend low-dose birth control pills that contain a combination of synthetic estrogen and progesterone. They decrease androgen production and give your body a break from the effects of continuous estrogen. This decreases your risk of endometrial cancer and corrects abnormal bleeding.
…
Reduce excessive hair growth. Your doctor may recommend birth control pills to decrease androgen production, or another medication called spironolactone (Aldactone) that blocks the effects of androgens on the skin.
This information comes courtesy of the Mayo Clinic. It’s better to educate yourself insted of showing people that you allow others to think for you. There should not be a single, solitary man on the face of the Earth that is too lazy to think, read, and learn for themselves. That’s pathetic of the worst kind.

Romney is a man who would say any thing, promise anything, or be anything to become President. I think that qualifies as selling his soul. A Bishop of his faith too. But having said all of that, yesterday, as I looked at the “Mitt Romney/Paul Ryan check off square on the ballot, all I could see was Romney’s personal yacht flying the flag of the Cayman Islands. A man has no love for his country when trying to become President of the United States, but would fly a foreign flag just to save a few bucks. His loyalty is not with his Country, but with his dollars. He is a morally sick and corrupt man who has no love for anyone but his own kind…the very rich. He will be a disaster if elected. As I heard somewhere…the corporate special interests have their hands so far up his butt, they call him “Mitt”.

I know there are at least a few intelligent people from the left that can help me with this question: Has there ever been a time during our history when american citizens, let alone american government employees, were under attack in a foreign country when our government refused to render aide even though help was nearby and the vistims were pleading with the white house itself? I have searched my memory for another time when our government was so cowardly. Leon Panetta said it was too dangerous to send help and that we “never” send people into a situation without knowing all the facts! That is a lie easly disproved by our history. Imagine Eisenhower refusing to order the invasion of Normandy because he was afraid we didn’t have all the information. Imagine how many times all of our presidents and military leaders had to make and did make decisions to send our military in harms way to protect American interests, property and people. Then think about the cowardly decision of this president who let our pepole die while he and his assistants watched on TV. While they screamed and begged he and his administration said no! Deflecting the conversation away from this disgraceful conduct is shameful.

ragnar: it was the House, controlled by Republicans, who turned down budget requests for more embassy security…$300 million worth. Now, unless you know some mall cops looking for work who don’t mind moving, how the heck are you going to get more security with $300 million less money? Do the math. Besides, the WH wouldn’t be the one getting the request- that would be the State Dept. There’s also the fact that the CIA was also using space in the compound. Did they have any responsibility to provide security for their personnel?

“But those condemnations have been removed from websites and silenced since Romney is the only candidate available to take down Obama, the black Christian”
Except they don’t think he’s really christian. You know he’s secretly carrying a pocket Quran around with him. I too find it almost laughably ironic how hard many on the right have backpedaled in their condemnation of Mormonism. I heard it often enough back in the Baptist church days of my upbringing, and now it’s all good. They’ll even sacrifice a religious stance to get the black muslim guy out of office.

Check out Obama’s boy toy lover at Larry Sinclair on the webb. Also check out Obama’s Gay Bathhouse called Man’s Country in Chicago where he is a lifetime member. Remember that Obama and Donald Young were lovers in Chicago and Donald Young was murdered in Chicago. Both of them went to the Racist Church lead by Rev.Wright. Young was found murdered in his apt just before the 2008 elections and the release of his upcoming tell all book. Young’s Mother worked for the Chicago Police Dept and the Mayors office is covering it up. The case has never been settled. No investigation.

We were all fooled by this radical left-over . Obama and his corruption have been terrible for everybody. Eric Holder is the worst AG also. Holder should be in jail.

quote by Alexis de Tocqueville:
“There is in fact a manly and legitimate passion for equality that spurs all men to wish to be strong and esteemed. This passion tends to elevate the lesser to the rank of the greater. But one also finds in the human heart a depraved taste for equality, which impels the weak to want to bring the strong down to their level, and which reduces men to preferring equality in servitude to inequality in freedom.”
this quote, which is attributed to either de Tocqueville or Alexander Fraser Tytler:
“A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the majority discovers it can vote itself largess out of the public treasury. After that, the majority always votes for the candidate promising the most benefits with the result the democracy collapses because of the loose fiscal policy ensuing, always to be followed by a dictatorship, then a monarchy.”
last quote– It is often attributed to Abraham Lincoln but it is actually believed to be authored by William J. H. Boetcker, a retired Presbyterian minister:
“You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift. You cannot help the wage earner by pulling down the wage payer. You cannot further the Brotherhood of Man by encouraging class hatred. You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich. You cannot keep out of trouble by spending more than you earn. You cannot build character and courage by taking away a man’s initiative. You cannot help men permanently by doing for them what they could and should do for themselves.”
