All of the above. If pressed, they would say “the embassy (it’s a consulate, not an embassy) should have had more security”, but then not be able to defend why Paul Ryan voted to cut $330 million from the embassy security budget. Nor can they say that Obama’s response to the violence was wrong. All they seem to focus on is the word “terror” and when it was used. That’s sad.

As for John Lewis: COOL! Should we have a vote Jay about which politician would be more willing to do a video like this first, Obama The Cool or Romney The Stiff?

3) A required rescue/evacuation of this type should have been anticipated. But you think eliminating “negative propaganda” is a good trade off for a murdered Ambassador and three other Americans? Wonderful ! I’m sure the families of all of those murdered appreciate that.

4) We don’t know the full story yet because the administration is blocking all efforts to obtain the truth. That’s why a Congressional Committee is issuing a subpoena !

What does that have to do with the arab spring? The Obama administration sided and armed the Muslim Brotherhood. The Bush administration never actively armed our enemies with our own weapons.

When Bush was in office Libya gave up their nukes because they saw what happened to Saddam. Libya and Egypt were the only countries in the ME keeping peace between Israel and the rest of the arab world. With them both gone, the Muslim Brotherhood is free to wreak havoc.

I suppose in your world the burden is on me to prove that Obama was not lying, yet all you have is the fact that he used the word terror the day after the attack vs. later assertions if was driven by a video. It can easily be argued that it was terror no matter if organized or spontaneous.

Read the transcripts of the UN speech and please show me the quote where he blamed the video. H referenced the video, but never assigns direct blame.

Read the CIA briefs, no consensus has been reached even today so tell me again how their is a cover-up.

They put us RIGHT in, in front of his scheduled meeting with lobbyists and other special interest snakes.

The problem with your example is that John Lewis =/= Jesse Jackson. ALL Black people are not the same, nor do we look the same.

I know lots of people who were poor and worked hard and made lots of money. Crying about not having anything and never amounting to anything is a pitiful excuse and a loser mentality.

Who cares what YOU know? Do you know every single poor person in this country? Do you know the situation of every single poor person in this country. Congressman Lewis is my congressman. I won’t vote for him again. He was awol on separate occasions when his presence would have meant something to causes of his constituents of the powerless category. That has nothing to do with any of the other lionizations or demonization coming out here. He made his choice, and I make mine. No big deal. Not him. Not me. Had to go watch my team finish sucking through the end of yet another game. Yep. Knowing men like John Lewis really highlights the differences between him and so many hateful, self-centered modern men. I’m glad the differences are highlighted. No blurred lines there!

Shrimp & grits…. not hard. Just cook up the usual peppers, onions, garlic, tomatoes, cajun seasonings, etc, in some olive oil and a little red wine, and reduce it awhile. Toss in some fresh “scrimps” for five minutes or so, then serve over a steaming hot plate o’ grits. Yum!

The Democratic National Convention released a full transcript of Rep. John Lewis’s (D-Ga.) speech to the 2012 Democratic National Convention (as prepared for delivery). Read the full text below:

I first came to this city in 1961, the year Barack Obama was born. I was one of the 13 original “Freedom Riders.” We were on a bus ride from Washington to New Orleans trying to test a recent Supreme Court ruling that banned racial discrimination on buses crossing state lines and in the stations that served them. Here in Charlotte, a young African-American rider got off the bus and tried to get a shoe shine in a so-called white waiting room. He was arrested and taken to jail.

On that same day, we continued on to Rock Hill, South Carolina, about 25 miles. From here, when my seatmate, Albert Bigelow, and I tried to enter a white waiting room, we were met by an angry mob that beat us and left us lying in a pool of blood. Some police officers came up and asked us whether we wanted to press charges. We said, “No, we come in peace, love and nonviolence.” We said our struggle was not against individuals, but against unjust laws and customs. Our goal was true freedom for every American.

Since then, America has made a lot of progress. We are a different society than we were in 1961. And in 2008, we showed the world the true promise of America when we elected President Barack Obama. A few years ago, a man from Rock Hill, inspired by President Obama’s election, decided to come forward. He came to my office in Washington and said, “I am one of the people who beat you. I want to apologize. Will you forgive me?” I said, “I accept your apology.” He started crying. He gave me a hug. I hugged him back, and we both started crying. This man and I don’t want to go back; we want to move forward.

Brothers and sisters, do you want to go back? Or do you want to keep America moving forward? My dear friends, your vote is precious, almost sacred. It is the most powerful, nonviolent tool we have to create a more perfect union. Not too long ago, people stood in unmovable lines. They had to pass a so-called literacy test, pay a poll tax. On one occasion, a man was asked to count the number of bubbles in a bar of soap. On another occasion, one was asked to count the jelly beans in a jar—all to keep them from casting their ballots.

Today it is unbelievable that there are Republican officials still trying to stop some people from voting. They are changing the rules, cutting polling hours and imposing requirements intended to suppress the vote. The Republican leader in the Pennsylvania House even bragged that his state’s new voter ID law is “gonna allow Governor Romney to win the state.” That’s not right. That’s not fair. That’s not just.

And similar efforts have been made in Texas, Ohio, Florida, Wisconsin, Arizona, Georgia and South Carolina. I’ve seen this before. I’ve lived this before. Too many people struggled, suffered and died to make it possible for every American to exercise their right to vote.

And we have come too far together to ever turn back. So we must not be silent. We must stand up, speak up and speak out. We must march to the polls like never before. We must come together and exercise our sacred right. And together, on November 6, we will re-elect the man who will lead America forward: President Barack Obama.

How is it not implying that a vote for Obama will take us back 40 years?

Consider that 50 years ago, there were politicians who kept their power by disenfranchising part of our society. Fast forward to today, and you have what appears to be the same power grab going on. I don’t think Lewis’ words are about race as much as it is about society as a whole. One constant thing about American history is that, there is always a scapegoat. Whether it’s different immigrant groups, Blacks, Latinos, Gays, or whatever other group you wish to target, there has always been a subset of our society that has been treated like sh*t on the soles of our shoes.

The current swath of voter ID laws, in my opinion, is an attempt to recreate the atmosphere of 40-50 years ago. The targeted group may be the same, or it may be different, but the manner in which the laws have been written and directed leaves no clue as to who’s trying to grab power.

When the stats started predicting White Americans losing their majority status, I joked with a few of my White friends about them pushing apartheid type laws to keep control. It was all done in jest, but I’m seeing a different power grab taking shape.

The far right is losing their grip on power, as evidenced by the repeated RINO or moderate candidates that have led the GOP recently. I don’t think they are targeting anybody because of race, sexual preference, or anything else more than they are simply targeting “the enemy” in order to maintain their power grip. That’s why you hear so much about “race baiting” and other things in conversations. All one has to do is yell loud enough and people begin to believe things even when the evidence to disprove the yelling slaps them in the face.

Welfare spending is going through the roof (a trillion dollars per year) under Obama even though this country is broke. Obama’s policies have always all been built upon massive entitlement spending to keep his voting base happy and to keep the votes coming in for the democrats. But it is a house fo cards which is about to fall. By basically making it easy for lazy/unmotivated and ignorant people to survive on government (taxpayer) dollars he has made them into political slaves to him and the government. Obama and the democrats don’t want people to do better on their own accord. They want people to depend upon the government for everything in order to increase its control over them. And apparently, about 47% of this country are more than willing to do exactly this. What Obama does not tell is that he is doing this with re-distributing the money that the older generation worked and paid into the social programs (Medicaire and Social Security) and is giving it to a bunch of younger entitlement minded loafers who simply do not want to work now that they have found out they don’t have to work and that the government will do it for them. I suspect that many of the liberals here are older. Obama is taking money from what you have paid in over many years and is giving it to a whole new generation of non-working slackers to buy their votes. Obamacare is the most blatant display of this. Those that paid into medicare for all those years are about to see their coverage drastically cut in 2014 in order to pay for government funded healthcare for the new entitlement minded younger generation (and illegal immigrants) in this country. He is basically taking money away from those that did what they were supposed to do and giving it to those that don’t want to make any effort to pay for their own way.

I read that story earlier this week, and from my view, it falls under the First Amendment. I don’t think there’s anything illegal about telling employees how to vote or how the company thinks you should vote. If the employer crosses the line and threatens employment or some other type of reprecussion, then it becomes a different matter altogether.

More Obama failure.

With the presidential election potentially riding on Monday’s foreign policy debate, the White House is denying a New York Times report that the Obama administration has for the first time agreed to one-on-one talks with Iran over its nuclear program.

National Security Council spokesman Tommy Vietor said in a statement that the White House is open to talking one-on-one with Iran to find a diplomatic settlement to the impasse over Tehran’s reported pursuit of nuclear weapons, but there’s no agreement now to meet.

“It’s not true that the United States and Iran have agreed to one-on-one talks or any meeting after the American elections,” the statement said. “We continue to work with the P-5 (five permanent members of the U.N. Security Council) on a diplomatic solution and have said from the outset that we would be prepared to meet bilaterally.”

The Iranian nuclear threat has been a recurring theme in the presidential campaign with GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney accusing President Barack Obama of being weak on Iran.

Reading through the Blog transcripts it sounds like quite a few people need to retake Civics. There is no right for the general public to vote for President in the US Constitution.

Constitutionally, the manner for choosing electors is determined within each state by its legislature. During the first presidential election in 1789, only 6 of the 13 original states chose electors by any form of popular vote

The Obama lies continue unabated. It is now known while Americans were being murdered in Benghazi our Administration watched the “terrorist attack” live via video and did nothing to thwart the attack and defend our citizens. To quote the New York Post Sunday headline “Americans died while the government watched”. Shame, shame on the Obama administration. The facts are, we have rapid response teams within a two hour distance of Benghazi which Obama did not deploy while the attack continued for more than six hours. As Hillary said, the “telephone rang” but Obama didn’t answer. Shame, shame on Obama and all who are making excuses for his disloyal, incompetent conduct. He put politics and his re election ahead of the safety of our people. Shame on him. The first president in our history when called to defend U.S. territory and U.S. citizens refused to do so.

After watching the morning shows, it is clear that this election will come down to the wire. Neither side will have a referendum and congress will not change that much. Legislatiors will be unwilling to compromise on the budget or entitlements and our deficeit will continue to balloon. The fed will eventually run dry and downgrades will cause interest rates to rise, which will dramatically increase the deficeit and slaughter people with adjustable rate mortgages.
