A civil rights icon does it Gangnam style
A brief note of introduction:
“Gangnam” is a district of Seoul, South Korea. PSY is a South Korean rapper/video star — think of a cross of MC Hammer with Pee Wee Herman — from the Gangnam district. “Gangnam Style” is PSY’s worldwide viral dance video hit, viewed more than 500 million times on Youtube so far. (Original here.)
With that as background, here’s a video put together by the Asian American Legal Advocacy Center here in Atlanta, urging people to register and vote. You may recognize some of the settings — the state Capitol, the MLK silhouette on Freedom Parkway. You may also recognize the older voting-rights champion who gamely dances Gangnam-style to get his message across.
Whatever you think of his politics, you have to admire a politician who doesn’t take himself too seriously. Personally, I would pay a lot to see Barack Obama and Mitt Romney in a dance-off, Gangnam-style.

Can you even point to the text where she mentions taxpayers or ask taxpayers to pay for anything? Most of her testimony on birth control was in relation to a friend of hers who needed it for medical issues and could not get it as part of her UNSUBSIDIZED health insurance from the school. So, not only are taxpayers NOT paying for her insurance or birth control, neither is Georgetown.

I was on a college recruiting blog on the sports page and some guy who calls himself DawgInLex started making threats against other bloggers. He claimed he had broken in to their computers and would steal all their money. I laughed for hours over that one. The sports moderator came on and banned the guy and then wrote a statement about how there is no way for bloggers to get a hold of IP addresses and that it was illegal. By law it is punishable according to him. I like to have friendly debates with folks but when they make threats to break into bank accounts etc, that usually gets ugly.

The ACA is not taxpayer funded government controlled healthcare. TriCare IS taxpayer funded government controlled healthcare. Last time I checked, the ACA did not have a public option, nor did it switch our system to a single payer system, which is REAL taxpayer funded government controlled healthcare. The ACA is, at best, a complete sellout of taxpayers to private sector insurances companies, but it is not government controlled at all as the private sector insurance companies still do what they have done all along with exception to giving people the finger after they’ve been bled dry of money.

No, the ridiculous arguments are the straw arguments trying to tie voting (a right protected by the Constitution) to other things that no citizen or resident have a protected “right”. When any of those things have their protections enshrined into the Constitution, you’ll have a valid argument.

It really amuses me when I see posts from phonies who describe themselves as centrists with no party affiliation. There’s no middle these days, you’re either a conservative traditionalist or you’re a far left winger who believes in an American transformation into a country far different from what we’ve historically been.
