A brief note of introduction:
“Gangnam” is a district of Seoul, South Korea. PSY is a South Korean rapper/video star — think of a cross of MC Hammer with Pee Wee Herman — from the Gangnam district. “Gangnam Style” is PSY’s worldwide viral dance video hit, viewed more than 500 million times on Youtube so far. (Original here.)
With that as background, here’s a video put together by the Asian American Legal Advocacy Center here in Atlanta, urging people to register and vote. You may recognize some of the settings — the state Capitol, the MLK silhouette on Freedom Parkway. You may also recognize the older voting-rights champion who gamely dances Gangnam-style to get his message across.
Whatever you think of his politics, you have to admire a politician who doesn’t take himself too seriously. Personally, I would pay a lot to see Barack Obama and Mitt Romney in a dance-off, Gangnam-style.

Why would a local militia that got rid of daffy and we helped them attack us?
“According to reporting by David D. Kirkpatrick and Suliman Ali Zway of The New York Times, eyewitnesses have said there was no peaceful demonstration against the video outside the compound before the attack, though a crowd of Benghazi residents soon gathered, and some later looted the compound. But the attackers, recognized as members of a local militant group called Ansar al-Shariah, did tell bystanders that they were attacking the compound because they were angry about the video. They did not mention the Sept. 11 anniversary. Intelligence officials believe that planning for the attack probably began only a few hours before it took place. [The New York Times, 10/17/12]
Lets use a little common sense.
I know the cons can’t use common sense because they are unhinged on getting our President.

I share in your misery as Westmoreland has been my rep the whole time I’ve lived in Georgia. I think there will be some confusion though. During the primary, the Dem primary had David Scott here and the GOP had Westmoreland. They are not running against each other, so there was some confusion about the district line somewhere. There are David Scott signs in my neighborhood, but nary a single Westmoreland to be seen.

Welfare spending is going through the roof (a trillion dollars per year) under Obama even though this country is broke. Obama’s policies have always all been built upon massive entitlement spending to keep his voting base happy and to keep the votes coming in for the democrats. But it is a house fo cards which is about to fall. By basically making it easy for lazy/unmotivated and ignorant people to survive on government (taxpayer) dollars he has made them into political slaves to him and the government. Obama and the democrats don’t want people to do better on their own accord. They want people to depend upon the government for everything in order to increase its control over them. And apparently, about 47% of this country are more than willing to do exactly this. What Obama does not tell is that he is doing this with re-distributing the money that the older generation worked and paid into the social programs (Medicaire and Social Security) and is giving it to a bunch of younger entitlement minded loafers who simply do not want to work now that they have found out they don’t have to work and that the government will do it for them. I suspect that many of the liberals here are older. Obama is taking money from what you have paid in over many years and is giving it to a whole new generation of non-working slackers to buy their votes. Obamacare is the most blatant display of this. Those that paid into medicare for all those years are about to see their coverage drastically cut in 2014 in order to pay for government funded healthcare for the new entitlement minded younger generation (and illegal immigrants) in this country. He is basically taking money away from those that did what they were supposed to do and giving it to those that don’t want to make any effort to pay for their own way.

Its interesting how both sides are going bonkers trying to make a political attack and counter-attack regarding the killing of one of our own…Simply said, the killing can be argued to be a reflection of a failed ME policy..not that things are looking to good over there anyhow…how can Obama take credit for unemployment numbers that he had no control over whatsoever…I’m not sure he can suggest he had no control over ambassador killing…Ryan’s voting for reduced security can’t really be tied to this..the fact that LIBS are working so hard to defend means this is a concern…not unlike the one the DEMS are trying to surface regarding the offshoring of 170 jobs in midwest..
It’s politics and the media has no small role in inflaming the wingnut right and wingnut left…no wonder people would rather watch honey boo boo..

Suggest you consider reading Wingnuts: How the Lunatic Fringe is Hijacking America
byJohn Avlon, Tina Brown (Foreword by), John Avlon (Read by)
“In American politics, the term is more often aimed at members of the political right than those of the political left,[2] for which the alternative term moonbat is more often used”
Great read mostly critical of the lunatic fringe on the right but no shortage of examples of the left fringe…the media just keeps pushing for more and more outrageous statements..lunatic fringe on Left (as evidenced above) will defend Obama to a degree only rivaled by that of the right fringe..

Stevie Ray – If Obama is NOT responsible for job numbers, than why is he always hammered with them and why are they indicators, when they’re bad, given to him by the GOP?
As for the killings of the Ambassador, I feel :
The conned are still in full faux outrage (poutrage) mode.
Oh WHY wasn’t extra security given? (Was it asked for? — by whom, and when?)
Oh WHY did Obama keep saying it was because of a film? (did this HURT or HELP the people already dead because of the killings? Could it hurt or HELP the other people in the area? did any of you brainiacs ever think of anyone BESIDES your sick, twisted little party of no-contents?)
Oh WHY did the intel fails us? (was this the first time in US history that intel has failed? How about 9/11? Or those WMDs that no one can seem to find, not to mention intel failures in WWII and in VietNam )
Oh WHY can’t we find anything better, than an economy thats steadily getting better, to snipe at Obama about? (because you’re a bunch of cry baby wetty pants and puzzies?)
What i find amazing is that NOT ONE CONNED is asking:
Oh WHY did our own party OUT operatives in the middle east? Why can’t we go BEYOND politics and think about the something other than our regaining power?

My point is that Obama nor any president have anything to do with job numbers…we are gullible enough to buy into the idea that anything that happens on ones watch if good, they take credit, if bad they deflect blame…Obama didn’t build the network that got OBL and Bush didn’t build…well…anything…this is what i find so absurd about all this….that and the fact that it is only the interest of re-election and money from big sources that matter….after they get our vote of course..

There is a fringe left, but to even remotely suggest they have half the power of the fringe right is foolhearty at best. If the fringe right didn’t have the control they do, we would be talking more about creating jobs instead of worrying about debt. Common sense shows that having more people working increases tax revenues to the government to help pay down debt or slow down borrowing. The fringe right has taken over to the point where a significant number of Democrats have the appearance of being supply siders now by trying to rely on tax cuts more than other methods to stimulate the economy.
If the fringe left had the control that the fringe right has, the ACA would have had a public option at a minimum. The stimulus would have been much larger in spending size without the tax cuts. There would have probably been legislation geared towards limiting assault weapons as well.

I disagree wholeheartedly regarding whether a tax increase would ultimately reduce debt of or reduce spending deficit…how can you imply that when all we know for sure is one of the two bi-partisan efforts in DC the disrespect for out money.
Finally, ACA is a complete bust in its current form…here’s the reason, the DEMS got into bed with the insurance industry and the larger hospital groups to trade favors…remember how the deal was written and past? IMO, the main reason we don’t have best option which is single payer is because of all the money our elected folks need from any source..

The problem with any sanctions is that the people starve and sustain all the grief…you think that the leaders, who were busy shopping at discount outlets while in town, give a flip about the impact of the sanctions on it’s people? I read that story earlier this week, and from my view, it falls under the First Amendment. I don’t think there’s anything illegal about telling employees how to vote or how the company thinks you should vote. If the employer crosses the line and threatens employment or some other type of reprecussion, then it becomes a different matter altogether.

You’re right. You also make my point for me in that mystery meat seems to think that there is no right to vote in the Constitution. I tried to inform him that the Constitution protects that right as it is considered to be inherently endowed by our creator. If the right didn’t exist, there would not be a need to enshrine protections into the Constitution.

I don’t think there’s a direct threat there. Could you parse words and pull one out? Probably, but from a legal standpoint, I don’t think there’s enough evidence in that conference call. Now, if you wanna talk about the jackass that wrote the letter with the implied threat, that’s something that might get him into hot water. I don’t think it will though because money makes all things go away in this country.

Yes but it doesn’t give you the right. I’m so sorry that you can’t see the difference between protect and give.
The Constitution does NOT give rights. I’m sorry that you can’t understand basic English. I know the difference between protect and give. Obviously you don’t. The Founding Fathers acknowledged that our rights came from our Creator, not man, and definitely not a piece of paper.

More Obama failure.
With the presidential election potentially riding on Monday’s foreign policy debate, the White House is denying a New York Times report that the Obama administration has for the first time agreed to one-on-one talks with Iran over its nuclear program.
National Security Council spokesman Tommy Vietor said in a statement that the White House is open to talking one-on-one with Iran to find a diplomatic settlement to the impasse over Tehran’s reported pursuit of nuclear weapons, but there’s no agreement now to meet.
“It’s not true that the United States and Iran have agreed to one-on-one talks or any meeting after the American elections,” the statement said. “We continue to work with the P-5 (five permanent members of the U.N. Security Council) on a diplomatic solution and have said from the outset that we would be prepared to meet bilaterally.”
The Iranian nuclear threat has been a recurring theme in the presidential campaign with GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney accusing President Barack Obama of being weak on Iran.

No, you are confused. You based your claims in give/not give language. I tried to inform you that the Constitution protects rights. You’re the one that can’t grasp the difference between give and protect.

How could a stat like that GET him a job at a prestigious school like Auburn anyway? Dudley is heartbroken — he keeps hope in his heart of a resurgence of Auburn’s football team. I don’t think that’s happening anytime soon until Auburn gets another coach. I wonder what Petrino is doing…………

His book is called “My mama’s war” — it’s about the civil war as told from a child’s point of view, (josef’s an elementary school teacher). Its very good AND very informative — there are lots of historical facts and data in the book that’s not generally known OR taught in history classes. YOu can order it from Amazon.

Again, the Articles of Confederation, the precursor to the Constitution, gives and at its inception spelled out voting privileges. In 1787 the United States had reached an economic and diplomatic crisis. That summer a Constitutional Convention was called to amend the Articles of Confederation. Among the most important issues to be resolved were electing representatives, senators, and the president.
Eligibility to vote for representatives would be based on each state’s rules for voting on the state legislature’s lower house. For example, the 1777 New York State Constitution required that a man have considerable wealth to be able to vote for the state Assembly – he had to pay taxes as well as own property worth at least 20 pounds or pay an annual rent of 2 pounds. Ten of the original 13 states had property and/or tax requirements when the U.S. Constitution came into effect.

As Congress was told last week, none of the additional security folks requested but denied for Libya would have accompanied Ambassador Stevens to Benghazi anyway. They were to be posted at the embassy in Tripoli.”
————————————————————————
I have seen that response from this administration, but it does not seem to jive with the testimony on Capitol Hill. Nordstrom testified that he specifically requested additional security resources twice for Benghazi and received no response. Charlene Lamb testified that the request was not entertained because she concluded that they had a safe house to fall back to if there was an emergency.

Reading through the Blog transcripts it sounds like quite a few people need to retake Civics. There is no right for the general public to vote for President in the US Constitution.
Constitutionally, the manner for choosing electors is determined within each state by its legislature. During the first presidential election in 1789, only 6 of the 13 original states chose electors by any form of popular vote
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_presidential_election
However, our Constitution only provides for nondiscrimination in voting on the basis of race, sex, and age in the 15th, 19th and 26th Amendments respectively. The U.S. Constitution contains no explicit right to vote!
http://archive.democrats.com/view.cfm?id=12581
“Each State shall appoint, in such Manner as the Legislature thereof may direct, a Number of Electors, equal to the whole Number of Senators and Representatives to which the State may be entitled in the Congress: but no Senator or Representative, or Person holding an Office of Trust or Profit under the United States, shall be appointed an Elector.” Notice it is missing the tag line you added: delegates elected by the state legislatures who would reflect the popular vote in their state.

The constitution is a very confusing document. Written as a compromise during the July heat as something to patch things up between the states, it is a patch work document that has been amended 27 times. Written by different authors, counting the amendments with different points of view.
To say that it is consistent is very much a stretch combined with wishful thinking.
