Tonight, U.S. Rep. Paul Ryan, the darling of the conservative right and the GOP nominee for vice president of the United States, takes to the national stage to debate incumbent Vice President Joe Biden.
And frankly, some people just can’t wait …
For reasons I cannot fathom, nobody to my knowledge has made a similar video touting Biden’s sex appeal. And if I’m wrong about that, please, allow me to remain blissfully ignorant and do not post it here.
The evening promises to be an interesting confrontation between two very different men. The strengths of one play into the weaknesses of the other, and vice versa. Biden, who wears his heart and compassion on his sleeve, vs. Ryan, the Ayn Rand acolyte who, in his own mind at least, tries to protect the makers from the takers. Biden, the older man, is also the more unpredictable, while Ryan exudes a Spartan discipline.
The interplay between such two diverse principals makes the debate impossible to predict. Tonight’s debate may not draw the numbers attracted by Biden’s debate with Sarah Palin four years ago, but that was more of a freak show than a political event. For my money, this one has much more promise.
I’ll throw up a fresh post somewhere about 8 p.m,. with the debate scheduled to begin at 9 for live commenting as events dictate.

I mean, literally and honestly – Biden is a moron, when you get called into the Oval Office with Hillary to discuss getting taken off the ticket, your own party has little faith in you. Ryan is young, aggressive and significantly smarter than Biden. I am practically tailgating for this thing! Stand up Chuck! Oh wait, Chuck is a paraplegic. Oh well, introducing Barack America! I don’t care how they perform. I care about their positions on the issues.
When Vice Presidential candidate pushes the lie that we can balance the budget by putting the Bush tax cuts and Pentagon spending on steroids, he will not get my vote. Whichever candidate suggests that we should overturn Roe v. Wade and that there is no right of privacy will not get my vote. Whichever candidate proposes to privatize both Social Security and Medicare will not get my vote. Whichever candidate seeks to slash Medicaid for children and nursing home care will not get my vote.
I don’t care how blue Paul Ryan’s eyes are, how full his head of hair is, what his body fat percentage is, or how much he loves his mother. Nor do I care about how articulate he is. What matters is whether he is right or wrong. And he’s already made clear that his primary mission in life is to enrich the already rich at the expense of everybody else.

Romney can dance around and flip flop, but Ryan has his name on a proposed budget plan. So, Biden will get a chance to challenge Ryan’s $700 billion cut to medicare. He can also challenge Ryan about Republican’s failure to support the veteran’s jobs bill. He can also challenge Ryan about the plan to increase defense spending and still balance the budget.
They’re both catholics, so Biden can ask Ryan why the catholic bishops consider his budget plan to be immoral.
Biden is the only candidate of the four who has a son that served in the middle east. Also, his wife and the first lady are very active helping veterans. I’m not aware of Ryan walking any of that walk.
Ryan collected social security as a teen ager, has a government job, and married a lobbyist. I don’t know why that makes him a hero to small government types.

you pegged it josef! Barney Franks, when asked on that LOGO documentary, said that the reason he finally came out was because he was tired of hiding who he really was. By his hiding, he was hurting people that he loved and living a lie. AND he stated by living a lie, it was the whole package:
Being seen with women (dating) , pretending.
Voting AGAINST bills that would’ve helped gays
Hurting not only the woman he was dating wit his lies, but the man he couldn’t be seen with.
GOPers it’s time to stop lieing — you’d feel better and you can finally be free.

Among the traps Biden (is he really related to Dan Quayle?) needs to avoid is the drilling down on the tax increases on the wealthy…and whether or not this represents a meaningful contribution to the deficit or is it just a political means to make villians for his base. By most accounts, the additional revenues will be between $75 and $80 billion per year…this represents between 7 to 8% of annual deficit which we have no reason to expect to be reduced over time..The CBO now projects the ACA will add costs of $120 billion per year with more than offsets the aforementioned number…
The money is already spent and Ryan can make quick hay on this issue.
Ryan needs to stay clear of blast from Biden about Mitt….

OFF SUBJECT ALERT!! (kinda)
josef – have you heard about this (below)? Black pastors telling their congregations to stay home because they didn’t like Obama’s support of Gay Marraige?
Some black clergy see no good presidential choice between a Mormon candidate and one who supports gay marriage, so they are telling their flocks to stay home on Election Day. That’s a worrisome message for the nation’s first African-American president, who can’t afford to lose any voters from his base during a tight race.
The pastors say their congregants are asking how a true Christian could back same-sex marriage, as President Barack Obama did in May. As for Republican Mitt Romney, the first Mormon nominee from a major party, congregants are questioning the theology of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and its former ban on men of African descent in the priesthood.
In 2008, Obama won 95 percent of black voters and is likely to get an overwhelming majority again. But any loss of votes would sting.
“When President Obama made the public statement on gay marriage, I think it put a question in our minds as to what direction he’s taking the nation,” said the Rev. A.R. Bernard, founder of the predominantly African-American Christian Cultural Center in New York. Bernard, whose endorsement is much sought after in New York and beyond, voted for Obama in 2008. He said he’s unsure how he’ll vote this year.

I think it goes both ways on this blog.
Just earlier today, a liberal blogger made some comment to a conservative blogger. The conservative said something along the lines of, “you forgot to mention about homes with 4 wheels. You know how you liberals love to demean the white poor”
the liberal never said anything about trailers, it was the conservative who brought it up. He can be good at twisting words or adding them to meet his narrative.
A few minutes later, another conservative blogger said that a liberal blogger lived in a trailer.
Did the 1st conservative blogger say anything? NOPE.
I said something and apparently the the conservative blogger who said “you forgot to mention………………” became busy or something. He never responded to the other conservative blogger or me.
That selective condemnation goes both ways.

Well if Ryan gets that “personhood” amendment passed I guess we’ll have a few things to talk about. Personally, I’m not thrilled with the idea that I’m actually 9 months older than I thought! But that’s not all. If you’re a person as a fetus, then I suppose you have some other rights too like property ownership. And if that’s the case then do they have to pay property taxes? Can they file on their mother’s tax return? What about health insurance? Do they need a separate policy? Or does the mother have to claim them as a dependent and pay extra? What about second amendment rights? Should they be counted in the census? If so, how will that affect the number of house seats and electoral college votes a state gets. Maybe we should have a “conception certificate” instead of a birth certificate. That could be a problem. We all know where we were born but how many of us know where we were conceived?

The role of women in the priesthood is a completely separate matter. You may interpret it in a power context, but they will respond with quite something else. Word. Especially considering the vast amount of homophobia in the black community. ESPECIALLY considering there’s probably an “Aunt Simon” with his special “Friend” in every black family – their homophobia borders on ridiculous. Besides that, everyone knows that the choir director in the black church 95% of the time is gay! (wink, wink).
People like Eddie Long, et al.; stand in pulpits and preach about the sins of homosexuality; all the while they’re sneaking into the parishoners’ little boy’s rooms.
If the black church wants to condemn gays, the FIRST thing they should do is to practice what they preach and STOP taking their gay parishoner’s tithe money. It might give them cooties………

“We’re discussing current Catholic teaching on the sanctity of life, encompassing birth control, abortion, end of life decisions, not some historical events from the Middle Ages”
The Catholic church is 2000 years old. You can’t discuss now without a nod to then. How about the Catholic priests who stood by and watched the Nazis slaughter Jews, gays and Gypsies? That’s pretty recent and doesn’t show much fondness for the sanctity of life…except maybe their own.
“The role of women in the priesthood is a completely separate matter. You may interpret it in a power context, but they will respond with quite something else.”
Yes, they will. There’s always an excuse to be found for supporting power over the those who are weaker. It doesn’t negate the fact that it’s about power, it just lets those IN power lie to themselves about their motives.
” No different than asking an orthodox Jew if they’re all hung up on power and hate women because of their role. Catholic teaching sprung from the same tree. It’s not all about 21st century political sensibilities.”
ANY society, religion, culture that limits it’s women is about power over those women. Or, if you prefer…it’s about their FEAR of the POWER OF WOMEN. So, because women are, as a group, physically weaker then men as a group…they control them with the power they have.
It took decades for women to teach police forces that rape is not about sex, it’s about power over women. It is probably going to take a few more decade to teach men in general that anything that limits a woman’s freedom is likewise about power over women.
And since you invoked the beginnings of the Catholic church, ponder this:
There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.
Galatians 3:28
John Dominic Crossan has described that sentence as “radical equality” If men and women are ALL ONE in Christ Jesus, try to convince me the Catholic church has a valid reason to ignore that and deny women the priesthood. But I warn you, you can’t do it.

josef: Most of the priests I’ve known in both senses of the verb to know have been decent people who were committed to the service of G-d and humanity…
Maybe you were just lucky. I’ve been in and around catholicism all my life — when I wasn’t in D.O.D. schools, I was in private catholic schools; and what I felt most from priests wasn’t the love of God but the love of power.
for instance, my sister, Graciela, is a DEVOUT catholic, just about fresh off the boat from South America (been here about 4 years now); got married had one child and is pregnant with another. She’s having a hard time with this pregnancy because she’s older (42) and it’s so close to her first pregnancy.
When she found out that she’s having twins, she cried; (I would’ve cried too — as well as screamed, hollered, and threw my husband out the window); mainly because even though we all live in the same house, (her, me, bro-n-law, and my aunt who’s mentally challenged); both my bro-n-law and I are gone most of the day at work. She’s alone in the house with my aunt who’s just like a baby, and the little one she has now. She’s exhausted. Add two more to the mix and it will be even more taxing on her.
When she went to our parish to talk to her priest, he belittled her! He called her weak, (not flat out — but in so many words), and “undeserving” of God grace to grant her children in her “old” age. When she told me what he said, I went over there and had a nice chat with him.
He has no idea. NOR DOES HE CARE, about the things that she has to go through. He only cares about her GIVING BIRTH. Nothing more . Her blood pressure is through the roof, her feet are continually swollen, and I’m scared I may loose her, and the only thing the pig in a blanket had to say was to chastise her for her weakness.
Priests are NOT about helping anyone — their about POWER. especially power over women. IMO.

I believe you’re confusing the doctrinal teaching of the ideal with the shortcomings of the people who are members of the institution.
“There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.
Galatians 3:28″
I don’t think your interpretation is what the apostle Paul had in mind. It defies the context. The teaching of salvation open to all regardless of earthly station is separate from doctrine related to administration of the sacraments.
Might as well rail against the founder. Jesus called no women to serve in the Twelve. No record of women serving in the Seventy. No record of women being given power to heal, cast out evil, etc. Yes, I could to into some early manuscripts about the role women did have, but even that would not support the equality mode you cite.
The logical extension of this is Jesus hated women and feared sharing power with them, which is absurd.

Tell that to the Children of Ham.
Clinging to centuries-old doctrine is a way to hang onto power. The idea that Catholics or any other denomination are doing it because they’re pure and unsullied by the world is absolute nonsense.

Yet they approach the doctrine differently. Ryan is MORE of a devout Ayn Rand fan before any religion IMO — most Christian religions speak of service to the people, of giving back, of being christ-like in your demeanor and your dealings with the public.
IMO Ryan is NONE of those things; nor does he give a damn about the “poor”.
Doggon: It took decades for women to teach police forces that rape is not about sex, it’s about power over women. It is probably going to take a few more decade to teach men in general that anything that limits a woman’s freedom is likewise about power over women.

We could just as easily segue into why the Roman church went to an unmarried clergy while the Eastern did not. Of course institutions evolve. But it seems to me what you’re striking at is a core doctrinal teaching, which is unlikely to be changed by ‘evolving cultural sensibilities.’ Any more than, saying “In the interest of equality, teaching is now revised. We are the equal of Jesus. He wasn’t G-d incarnate. We’re all the same. Baptism is now optional and feel free to come up with you own beliefs on the resurrection.”
Looks like this is a case where we’ll have to agree to disagree (as I’ve still got work to do and have no intention of continuing this on into the VP debate.

“I believe you’re confusing the doctrinal teaching of the ideal with the shortcomings of the people who are members of the institution”
And I think YOU are missin that the foundation of the doctrinal teachings is the shortcomings of the people who started that institution. The foundation of that church is the Mediterranean area, where men are the ones in charge and women are subordinate. So that was written into the doctrine of the church (as well as in the Bible)
“I don’t think your interpretation is what the apostle Paul had in mind. It defies the context. The teaching of salvation open to all regardless of earthly station is separate from doctrine related to administration of the sacraments.”
And I obviously don’t agree. I think when Jesus said his way was hard, he didn’t mean that his teachings were all that difficult to follow. I think he meant that changing your ingrained societal norms was extremely difficult. And so it has turned out to be.
“Might as well rail against the founder. Jesus called no women to serve in the Twelve.”
That we know of. Remember, we don’t have any writings from Jesus. We have only the writings of MEN, who lived in a society where women were – at best – subordinate, at worst on a par with slaves. How likely is it that those men would pass along that women were equal? And, in fact, if you read some of the later letters in the Bible it’s clear that some churches DID have women equal with men, because they got letters from the disciples to STOP that practice.
” No record of women serving in the Seventy. No record of women being given power to heal, cast out evil, etc. Yes, I could to into some early manuscripts about the role women did have, but even that would not support the equality mode you cite. ”
Again, the records we have were written by men, bent on holding on to the power their society insisted was their right.
The logical extension of this is Jesus hated women and feared sharing power with them, which is absurd.

Once again you obviously are once again using DEM talking points about Ayn Rand without ever likely reading her books…it would help if you knew a bit of her background as well as some of the characters in her books before you pop off. Sure her politics and theory of Objectivism have ridiculous components and you may be interested to know that despite her “take responsibility” charge, she actually accepted government assistance under a ficitious name and up to her death from lung cancer (she was chain smoker) while refusing to admit is caused her premature demise..
I’m by no means a Rand apologist as in her personal life she was a hypocritical paranoid individual…but it’s understandable as she immigrated from St Petersburg during a Stalin era and the story lines and characters and fictitious society for both books is more suggestive of a capitalist system in a communist land..
I love her books for entertainment value…I also like Ben Affleck movies but certainly don’t care for his politics…

“That would be Jesus.”
Actually, no it wasn’t. The Catholic church is founded on the supposed statement of Jesus that he would build his church on this “rock” – meaning Peter. But that was not written until AFTER Jesus died. There are no other indications that Jesus instructed his followers to establish any sort of church. He sent them OUT to minister, he didn’t instruct them to stay put an minister. A church (as in a place) is the ultimate in NOT going out to minister. It’s right in line with the standard Mediterranean system of “patron/client” power base. In fact, when Jesus was urged to stay at one of the disciples homes and let them bring the people to him, he specifically rejected that and continued on his wandering ministry.
“LOL! Let’s see, Peter, James, John, Annabel, Trixie, Judy…. who were the other six?”
It wasn’t meant to be funny. It’s entirely possible that what we are seeing in the “Twelve” is evidence of the power struggles in the nacent church after Jesus died. Those who could read and write, or who could afford to have scribes eventually came to be the power because they had written “proof” of their memories. There’s no proof whatsoever that the early books of the Bible are eye-witness accounts written down as they occured.
“Paul’s “let the women keep silent in church” line as proof women should ahve no leadership role. They tend to forget the Pauline letters were written to address specific questions or conditions. In many cases we have only the answer, not the question”
And the answer shows what the question was. Why would Paul (and it’s doubtful that he wrote all the letters attributed to him) would tell a congregation to keep their women silent if the women were NOT being permitted to speak? Why ban something that isn’t even happening? The writer said to stop that practice because it WAS happening.

Among the traps Biden (is he really related to Dan Quayle?) needs to avoid is the drilling down on the tax increases on the wealthy…and whether or not this represents a meaningful contribution to the deficit or is it just a political means to make villians for his base. By most accounts, the additional revenues will be between $75 and $80 billion per year…this represents between 7 to 8% of annual deficit which we have no reason to expect to be reduced over time..
Well, pardon the frankness of this next question then, but why in the flying f**k was the GOP so damned adamant about squeezing $75 Billion OVER 10 YEARS out of federal workers last year? One would think that $80B a year trumps $75B over 10, but I guess accounting isn’t a GOP strong point, huh?

Paul – I saw that post after I posted mine. Can’t Catholics change parishes? I didn’t think they were limited geographically. That priest does not seem like he’s ministering to her needs. A change of location may be appropriate
We will, probably. My problem is convincing my sister. This was the parish she gravitated to when she first moved here from Brazil. It has a HUGE Brazilian congregation and she’s already made friends within the community. She met her husband at one of the get togethers there (he’s a member too).
And then you’ve got to figure in her complete SERVITUDE to cathollcism. She was ….not exactly cut off from the family…..but alone with our grandmother and aunt for years in Brazil while my mother and the rest of us were doing our thing here in America. She did my mother a great service by staying in Brazil to take care of our grandmother and our aunt when our grandmother became ill. In our family, it is the oldest daughter, (my mother), who’s supposed to do that. By my sister making that sacrifice she also sacrificed her youth, her freedom and her ability to escape from the stranglehold of catholic priests.
However, I have bro-n-law on my side, so I’m looking for another parish and he said once the babies are born and christened, he’ll recommend to her that we move. Besides, I think I’ve scared the sh##t outta that priest and he may hint around to my sister that it might be better to find another place to worship. Bad Debbie.

Joe will do much better than Obama did simply because unlike Obama Joe knows his subject. In addition Joe is likeable and in spite of his habit of making stupid remarks will come across as authoritative and knowledgeable. The Democrat hope is Joe will not further embarass them and on that point I believe they will be satisified. This debate will not be a game changer. That fat is already in the fire. The best they can do is to perhaps change the subject from the administration’s demonstrated dishonesty in covering up their incompetence on the Libyan matter and from Obama’s visable ignorance on the economy during the last presidential debate. If they can change that subject for a few days, it will be a win for the Democrats if only briefly. The Republicans smell blood and they will not let those subjects go as they are clear winners for them. The press is preparing to cover for Joe. The plans are in place. The articles are written. Their problem is they used up all their excuses for Obama’s performance so they have nothing left to cover for old Joe. He will have to perform.

I think your definition of a ‘church’ as a physical location vs a body of believers is off. If you want an interesting study, try reading the accounts of who found the empty “grave” after Jesus ascended.
“The ‘’speaking’ thing was, I think, not the act of speaking but of running things – especially when one considers who the members of that congregation were, what they were converted from and how their practices were at odds”
Doesn’t matter. Why ban something that is NOT happening? Women were banned from “speaking” Why? Because they WERE speaking and that was against the norm of the male-centric society of the place and time.

I first saw those stories about a month ago. I am honestly happy that I have not been present to hear a preacher say that as I would probably set myself up for an eternal barbeque by responding to that. The only word I can think of to describe something like that is pure ignorance. It’s not like politicians are not already trying to limit the vote by passing these bullsh*t ID laws or doing like Gov. Scott in FL and making felons jump through hoops and sh*t just to apply to have their voting rights restored after they complete their sentences.
These idiots are telling people to purposefully not vote. I’d kick any one of them in the nuts if I was sitting in a church and heard them say that crap.

Sandusky wasn’t a priest. Nor were/are most of the vile vermin that prey in the innocent.
Sandusky = another pedophile who had a powerful organization covering for him and giving him authority.
Pedophiles exist outside of powerful organizations, but when they get caught they don’t get an assist so they can continue raping. They don’t have a bunch of wingmen.
The Catholic Church actively worked to ENABLE child rapists. Why anyone would look to them for moral authority is beyond my comprehension. We’re not talking about long-dead Inquisitors–who no one expected anyway.
And this morally corrupt institution is supposed to give me instructions for use of my body? Why would I trust these men who claim a pipeline to God? They can’t even figure out how to call 911 when one of their Priests buggers a kid. So I’m really not taking their word when they cough up mumbo-jumbo excuses on who’s authorized to handle the magic crackers and oversee the ritualized cannibalism.

http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/ticket/paul-ryan-drops-endorsement-wisconsin-lawmaker-under-fire-173247435–election.html
Republican vice presidential nominee Paul Ryan has withdrawn his endorsement of a Wisconsin state lawmaker who has come under fire for controversial comments he made about rape.
Late last year, while discussing an alleged rape at a high school in his district, Rep. Roger Rivard told a local newspaper that his father taught him “some girls rape easy.”
“State Rep. Rivard’s comments are outrageous and offensive,” Kevin Seifert, the manager of Ryan’s congressional campaign, said in a statement on Thursday. “Congressman Ryan believes there is no place in our discourse for rhetoric such as this. Congressman Ryan cannot support Mr. Rivard or his indefensible comments.”
My question is, if he said that last year, why is the endorsement now only being pulled? It’s funny watching the rats jump ship after the sh*t hits the fan.

WHEREFORE ART THOU, MITT ROMNEY?
By Ralph Maxwell
O, Romney-O, Romney-O, Wherefore art thou, Mitt Romney?
You flip-flop here, you flip-flop there,
You flip-flop almost ev’rywhere.
You ballyhoo what you’re gonna do
And then you pull a switcheroo;
You now malign what you found fine;
Seems like you’ve got a jellyfish spine.
Obamacare, by you begun,
Now you’d trash it on day one.
Gun control you did extol,
But now you’re preaching decontrol.
O, Romney-O, Romney-O, Wherefore art thou, Mitt Romney?
We’ve got no clue what you will do
Or what new view you’ll pander to.
Time was you championed women’s choice,
But you no longer heed their voice;
On gay rights, too, guess you withdrew
Support they once enjoyed from you.
Global warming, EPA,
Immigration, minimum pay,
Roe V. Wade, also fair trade,
All joined your flip-flop cavalcade.
O, Romney-O, Romney-O Wherefore art thou, Mitt Romney?
So many things that you were for
You’ve turned against and slammed the door.
Stimulus and cap and trade,
Education, foreign aid,
Campaign reform, tarp rescues, too,
All victims of your switcheroo.
You take your stand on shifting sand,
We never know where you will land;
You vacillate, and you fabricate,
A wishy-washy candidate.
O, Romney-O, Romney-O, Wherefore art thou Mitt Romney?
As gov’nor you let taxes rise,
Now ev’ry tax you demonize.
You say regardless of the facts
You’d take an axe to the millionaire’s tax;
You’d feed the greed of the richest few
The poor and middle class you’d screw.
Your tax returns you hide from view
What evil lurks there we’ve no clue;
If they’re not bad why hesitate?
Is it that they incriminate?
O, Romney-O, Romney-O, Wherefore art thou Mitt Romney?
At Bain you plundered with a flair
And walked away a zillionaire.
You shipped off-shore, good jobs galore
To China, India, Singapore;
A job creator you are not.
And to boast you are is tommyrot.
As a total fraud, Mitt’s got no peer;
What we must do is crystal clear:
Let’s give Obama four more years!
Yes, it’s Obama – four more years!
FOUR MORE YEARS!
FOUR MORE YEARS!
FOUR MORE YEARS!

The debate is in Danville, KY.
Danville, KY and Danville, VA, to give you some credit, are in states that touch each other; is there a Danville, WA? If so, that would be a much larger error if someone made it.
If you went to Danville, VA for the debate, hang out for a NASCAR race. That way, your trip wouldn’t be totally wasted. It’s a short track with lots of wrecks.

All Biden has to do is wish Dale Jr. well at the start of the debate and the south is basically theirs.

My point exactly… Some posters can’t type a sentence here without throwing invectives.
True, and my guess is that Jay blows by some of their posts just like the rest of us. Can’t really say I blame him.

Go up to Bellingham while you’re there…the ride up I-5 at one time was ranked the most beautiful stretch of interstate in the country. Go up the Skagit Valley, Tom Wolf described it as a Chinese watercolor in its aura…and believe me, a drive around the Olympic Peninsula and the rain forest is a lifetime memory…and, I assure you, the Yakima is just the right frame of mind for exploring G-d’s Country…
My advice, though, is to do it in late July or August!

I’d be here as I don’t hate you. I simply just don’t give a rat’s ass about you. That might be semantics to you, but I just don’t feel anything towards you at all.

I rented a car while staying in Seattle for a week and drove the Olympic peninsula. I stopped just before going into the park to get a bite. When I went to the window of a drive-in to order, the girl behind the window got huge eyes and asked me to stay right there. She disappeared for a few seconds and came back out of the kitchen with the whole staff.
“Say something,” she demanded. I don’t think they get many people from Atlanta up there.

YOU LIBS
That really tripped us out when we lived up there. We were in the student lounge one day and a small group came over and asked if we would talk to them. “Sure, but what about?” “Oh, it doesn’t matter. We just want to hear you talk.”
What was bizarre to us, given the usual nastiness in much of the country toward the Southern dialect, was how complimentary it was.
Now here’s the funny part. Since that was then and this is now, and we’re talking of days and looks long gone, we were used to folks wanting to knock off a piece, but somebody who was hitting on you to hear you talk? THAT was a change of pace…
