Here’s what Mitt Romney had to say yesterday in an interview with the editorial board of the Des Moines Register:
“There’s no legislation with regards to abortion that I’m familiar with that would become part of my agenda.”
———–
Here’s what Romney spokesperson Andrea Saul told Katrina Trinko of the right-wing National Review after the above interview:
When I asked Romney spokesperson Andrea Saul to clarify what Romney had meant there (since the Huffington Post at least is taking it as a position that “could put [Romney] at odds with congressional Republicans who have made limiting abortion central to their messages”), she e-mailed, “Governor Romney would of course support legislation aimed at providing greater protections for life.”
—————–
Here’s what Mitt Romney himself had to say in an interview almost exactly a year ago with Mike Huckabee on Fox News:
—————-
Here’s Mitt Romney in 2007, saying that as president he would be delighted to sign legislation outlawing abortion nationwide:
————–
And of course, here’s Mitt Romney in 2002 discussing his stern pro-choice views, in which he says “I’ve been very clear on that: I will preserve and protect a woman’s right to choose and am devoted and dedicated to honoring my word in that regard.”
A lot of smart, honest, well-informed Americans feel that human life begins at the moment of conception. While I disagree, I very much respect the passion and sincerity of their argument. What I cannot respect is someone who, like Romney, claims to share that passion and sincerity yet also tries to tell everyone else that don’t worry, he won’t do anything about it, that it’s pretty much just a debating point for him.

Google it… there plenty of video’s of Obama saying he’s for killing at any stage of pregnancy…”
Oh, you meant a “fetus”. You said “baby”. There’s a difference – there are probably many sites in the intertubes that can help you with that.
But, I think you were actually just telling a lie for its shock value – so I’ll stick with “disgusting lie.”

Planes crash into the WTC, Pentagon and a field.
Al Quaeda blames it on a video.
Bush makes speech and blames the video.
Evidence comes out and suggests the attack was a terrorist attack.
Bush continues to blame video.
Colin Powell says the video is to blame.
More evidence comes out and suggests it was a terrorist attack.
Dick Cheney says it was a terrorist attack.
Colin Powell continues to blame video.
More evidence comes out.
Bush says its a terrorist attack.
See where I’m going, Jay?
My point: You’re a buffoon.

Hate to break it to you…but Congress controls the “fiscal house”, not the President.
Glad to hear the GW Bush is absolved of any responsibility for the recession that began in 2008.

Joseph,
Do you feel that abortion should be criminalized?
If so, what are you going to do with the tens of thousands of Republican women who kill their babies?

Umm, No. I’m pro-choice.
Romney isn’t my first choice either, but if even he is a dismal failure, he’ll still do more good than obama. I would vote for my lawn furniture before I vote for your clown.

Ask someone who was involved in the Watergate Affair. Maybe G. Gordon Liddy still has a radio show so you could call in and ask him.

USMC: here’s a link to a chart on gasbuddy.com that shows average gas prices since ‘05:
http://www.GasBuddy.com/gb_retail_price_chart.aspx?city1=USA Average&city2=&city3=&crude=n&tme=96&units=us
Notice that prices now are roughly where they were in April ‘07.
The only precipitous drop in prices came late in ‘08 after a peak in May of ‘08. Trust me, I parked the truck and bought a cheap used Honda in ‘07 because of the steady climb in prices. What the chart shows is that after a drop around about election time, prices have generally trended upward since roughly the beginning of ‘09. The precipitous drop late in ‘08 didn’t last long. Bush had to crash the economy to get them down evidently. If the last two presidents couldn’t get them down, how will the next one do it?

Watergate was a two bit political event which by todays standards wouldn’t even be considered notable. On the other hand, the Benghazi terrorist attack of which Obama was forewarned, would have been prevented by any administration that had been “awake” was one, an act of war against the United States and two, resulted in the deaths, murders if you will, of four United States citizens including our ambassador. To attempt to mitigate this foreign policy failure by the Obama administration by comparing it to Republicans placing bugs in the Democrat headquarters merely demonstrates a lack of reason. This failure on the part of Obama’s administration shows a lack of understanding of the middle east that frankly is scarey as it makes us aware that our safety is in the hands of a fool.

Mitt Romney, a high priest in the Mormon church, speaks with forked tongue to the public, behind closed doors where public is blocked, he speak-ith the truth. Republican politicians do the same, they will tell you anything you want to hear to get in office. You only have to look to this 112th congress to see what would happen if Romney by some freak of nature becomes President.
Women’s rights would go by the way side, you only have to look at the bills passed in the last two years in this Republican controlled 112th congress to see what they would do. Look up HR212, who Paul Broun of Ga. is the sponsor of, along with 63 right wing co-sponsors, one of which is VP Pick, Paul Ryan. Yep, Women can kiss their rights goodbye, if a Romney/Ryan ticket wins this election.

southpaw: that’s why I wonder what deductions or credits he’ll “discuss with Congress” for elimination. I know there will a lot of debate on this issue, but I’m realizing that the 20% rate cut could end up either a wash out for me or an actual increase. The child tax credit especially. At my current income, that reduces my total taxes due with two kids quite a bit. If that goes away, I’ll see a pretty hefty tax increase that won’t be offset by a rate reduction. Questions, questions, and noooooo answers yet.

” If the last two presidents couldn’t get them down, how will the next one do it?”
It is simple, econ 101. Supply and demand. Increase supply and price comes down. Proof, Democrats wanting to release the “strategic oil reserves” to cause a reduction in price. More proof? Democrat Governor Brown waving California’s winter fuel formula to increase supply thereby reducing the price of gasoline. BTW the current price of a gallon in California has exceeded $5.00 and is approaching $6.00. Cause? Shortage of gasoline? See. it is really simple. Build the pipeline and drill baby drill.

Nice try. Mabe you were too young to remember or maybe you just buy into anything spouted by the left wing press, but there were a number of other factors involved with WMD. Iraq had used WMD in its war with Iran. British intellegence, NATO intelligence, Israli Intellegence, our own CIA, the UN and former Iraqui scientists all thought Iraq had chemical weapons. In fact today, Leon Pannetta has ordered our military to Jordan to keep and eye on Syria because we fear they could use chemical weapons which we know they have. Where did they come from? Our own intellegence during the Iraq war was that Hussein, Saddam not Barack, had shipped his chemical weapons to Syria.

I wonder if Mr. Romney has the same view about abortion as I do.
You see, I am neither “Pro Life” nor “Pro Choice.”
The two most sacred powers that we have is the power to create life and the power to take it. I am not “Pro Life” because I believe that there are situations where a woman may need to have an abortion. This should be between a woman and her doctor, who has her best interests in mind. It should be done after extensive counseling, and the government should stay out of it.
I am not “Pro Choice” because I have a problem with clinics that mill our daughters and their babies through as if they are processing them through a factory. I believe that this can do serious harm to a young woman, and in the process, a life is taken.
I guess you could say that I am Pro Self Worth, which can not be achieved through either extreme. With this in mind, and based on what Mitt Romney has said about his positions on abortion in the past, he may be “Pro Self Worth” as well.
With this in mind, he has not flip flopped on the issue.

Take it easy Pariah, the liberals use a concensus as facts. It is a game of semantics. For instance ” a dramatic new study” could be a few liberals agreeing that sex is more important to them than the lives that result from sex. Liberals are good at looking at each word and find new meanings for it such as if “is” is “is”.
But, why are we talking about social issues suchas contraception when you easily find them for sale–cheap. If you cannot win the debate change the topic?

What everyone seems to forget is that in addition to being an accomplished liar, Mittens was a crappy Governor in Massachusetts — two years after being elected he started running for President and bad-mouthing the state to Christian evangelical types. There was a good chance he would not have been re-elected in Massachusetts. The fact that this disingenuous, rich putz can be considered a serious candidate for POTUS defies logic.

obama does not support saving a baby even after a botched abortion and the baby somehow lives……libs need to deal with that fact on the belief of your leftist leader….see illinois senate…..and that my friend is the extreme position, not the position of trying to save babies from abortion in the first place……last comment on this……
nice try jay……this shows your ilk has nothing and this white house is exposed now as completely clueless on numerous issues and actions and nothing you can say will change that……fyi, the next pres debate will clue eveeryone in on the contempt and utter unlikeable nature of your community organizer in chief…..we can talk about that the day after……can’t wait….obama’s own words will doom him….fun

Enter your comments hereKerry flipflopped once and never heard the end of it. For Romney in regard to women’s choice it is a case of, “I was for it, before I was against it, but now I have nothing against it, but really I’m against it. Believe me — it’s written right here on my Etch-A-Sketch.” This is what Romney calls “Clarification.”

If you want more information on how Romney feels about abortion… one only needs to look at his religious background as a Mormon. He once even told a woman belonging to his church that he didn’t care about her, he only cared about the fetus inside of her & denied her the church’s “PERMISSION” (that’s right… they need permission, don’t women always?) to have an abortion done because she had a slim chance of survival if the child were brought to full term. This woman had 7 children who already depended on her… I can only imagine the feeling she had of terror that her church would let her die & her children suffer for the hope of one possibility… Anyways, I can’t say I’ve decided whether my vote will go to Obama… but I can’t help but feel it isn’t right to give it to Romney. He lies to get your vote. Just last night he acted as if he was all about women & contraceptive care & coal mining… yet all of these things he’s been against when convenient.
