Are Mitt’s money men putting away the checkbooks?

From Fox Business News:

The Romney campaign is experiencing what some officials believe could be the beginning of a mass exodus of big money donors diverting their cash away from the Republican presidential hopeful and toward Republican candidates for the House and Senate races more likely to win in November, the FOX Business Network has learned.

The trend isn’t at the acute stage, at least not yet, said one person with direct knowledge of the matter. This person, a major player in Romney’s New York fundraising circles, confirmed to FOX Business that a few New York donors have backed away from financial commitments to the Romney campaign and instead said they will spend their money to help the Republicans hold on to the House of Representatives, and pick up seats in the Senate.

But another person with direct knowledge of the matter says the trend, though nascent, is more geographically broad based, and reflects an increasing degree of anxiety both with what they believe is the tentative nature of the Romney campaign, and recent poll numbers that show President Obama with a lead, particularly in key battleground states, that some Republican contributors are starting to believe is insurmountable.

“This isn’t just a New York trend,” this person said. “It’s beginning to occur all over the place.”

If Romney does well in tomorrow night’s debate, that trend may be stopped dead in its tracks. On the other hand, if he achieves a draw or less, the disenchantment is likely to deepen, with important consequences for fundraising efforts.

A mediocre performance in Denver would also inspire another, more aggressive round of anti-Romney sniping and backstabbing from conservative media and politicians, which has the potential to do a lot more damage to the Romney cause than a withdrawal of financial support. I’ve already been struck by the fact that many conservative pundits and media figures have been even more dismissive of Romney’s chances than have their counterparts on the left. Given the right opening, they seem quite ready to bury him and move on.

Jim Lehrer, lib ilk PBS commentator, is moderating the first debate. Of course only lib ilks are moderating the debates this cycle so I apologize for pointing out the obvious. However, “some person” has leaked to me what Jim’s first questions to the candidates will be:

To Romney:

Governor, some people have maintained that you only beat your wife, Ann, only every other month or so, but others insist it’s a weekly occurrence. Who is right?

To Obama:

Mr. President, you’ve done an incredible job over the past four years dealing with republican obstructionists who criticize your every effort to make America more fair. As difficult as it is to take any time off from your oppressive schedule as president, when you go out for ice cream, what’s your favorite flavor?

You heard it here first…

George Will had an interesting post today that might appeal even to the liberal sycophants on this blog. He wonders why, even with the abysmal record that this president has over the last four years, why anyone would vote for him. He has reasons that seem worth considering. First, this guy is our first black president if you throw Slick Willy out. Liberals suffer from a certain amount of white guilt that doesn’t seem to have much of an effect on people who are good at thinking. Why should we we abandon this social experiment (my words)? Why not give him a second chance. Even though he has been a disaster in foreign policy, domestic spending, domestic policy and most everything else he has tried, maybe if we just give him four more years, he can pull it off and guess how much better that would make us feel about ourselves. After all, he is black, a minority, someone who we can relate to. Forget about the country, forget about where we are in this mindless non-existent “recovery”…… let’s just forget about all of that and make ourselves feel a little better about “someone special”. Except for that idiot in Cleveland that is braying on about her Obama phone, there are a lot of pretty smart liberals out there. Why in the hell is this clown so special to you? He is ripping this country apart at the seams and you don’t seem a bit concerned. The media gives him a pass on virtually everything and you are silent. No one says anything except some media contrived story about what a jerk Romney is. And you let it go. Maybe I’ll take back the comment about smart liberals.

The money shot from Will, is his closing passage…

Perhaps a pleasant paradox defines this political season: That Obama is African American may be important, but in a way quite unlike that darkly suggested by, for example, MSNBC’s excitable boys and girls who, with their (at most) one-track minds and exquisitely sensitive olfactory receptors, sniff racism in any criticism of their pin-up. Instead, the nation, which is generally reluctant to declare a president a failure — thereby admitting that it made a mistake in choosing him — seems especially reluctant to give up on the first African American president. If so, the 2012 election speaks well of the nation’s heart, if not its head.

In other words, if Obama wins, it’s because White people don’t want to feel guilt for giving up on the Knee Grow, lest they be called racist. It has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that the alternative that was put forth by the GOP was substandard to the current Marxist, Socialist, anti-colonial, spend happy, Muslim that’s currently in office.

A nurse applied ice packs to Nash’s groin to reduce pain and swelling. The problem arose when the medical staff allowed the ice packs to remain in place for about 19 hours.

Jones described it as “non-stop ice replacement.”

“Any doctor who is monitoring the care of their patient is not going to allow someone to have constant treatment with ice … for more than 2-3 hours,” Jones said.

Gangrene set it in within a few weeks, causing doctors to remove a five-inch section of Nash’s penis – a procedure for which he continues to receive medical care, Jones said. Nash will need reconstructive surgery that will allow him to urinate, Jones said. Associated Press

Bro, interestingly enough to counter Will’s play of hte race card, credible academic estimates suggest Obama lost a net 3 to 5 percent of the national vote in 2008 as a consequence of his race

Seth Stephens-Davidowitz, a doctoral candidate in economics at Harvard, is studying how racial animus may have cost Obama votes in 2008. First, Stephens-Davidowitz ranked areas of the country according to how often people there typed racist search terms into Google. (The areas with the highest rates of racially charged search terms were West Virginia, western Pennsylvania, eastern Ohio, upstate New York, and southern Mississippi.) Then he compared Obama’s voting results in those areas with John Kerry’s four years earlier. So, for instance, in 2004 Kerry received 50 percent of the vote in the media markets of both Denver and Wheeling (which straddles the Ohio–West Virginia border). Based on the Democratic groundswell in 2008, Obama should have received about 57 percent of the popular vote in both regions. But that’s not what happened. In the Denver area, which had one of the nation’s lowest rates of racially charged Google searching, Obama received the predicted 57 percent. But in Wheeling, which had a high rate of racially charged Google searching, Obama’s share of the popular vote was only 48 percent. Of course, Obama also picked up some votes because he is black. But, aggregating his findings nationally, Stephens-Davidowitz has concluded that Obama lost between 3 and 5 percentage points of the popular vote to racism.

I’ve got IE, FireFox, Google Chrome, Safari, and Opera browsers and I find that I use FireFox the most.

You can get different plug-ins and add-ons to customize it to suit your needs.

Denying ANY citizen not legally precluded their god given right of franchise is flat out anti-American.

But tyrants love it.

Voting is the key to democracy. A word that terrifies you Republicans.

But I understand why you quasi-fascist freaks want to limit suffrage instead of trying to get ALL American citizens involved in having a voice.

(It works against your Lily White Party.)

Long Live Jim Crow!!

“So those bailed out bankers on wall street and Bain Capital are just bank robbers?”

Now I for one thought those banks were not to big to fail and did not agree with the bailouts, there is a huge difference in bailing out and getting paid back or just taking and taking from the government for nothing in return.

But I would never want you not to vote……. If nothing else, it is going to sting a little harder come November because you did vote and work to push your propaganda

Elitist is what others have called me when discussing my personal opinion about people having some knowledge about who and what they are voting for before being able to vote.

“Elitist” is probably not the most common term they apply.

First, we do not live in a democracy.

Second, please show me where in the Constitution it states you have the right to vote for the President? I guess you forgot that we do not directly vote for the President.

“Elitist” is probably not the most common term they apply.

Especially not if you have bragged on these blogs that you scored the highest in the Newterator’s class at KSU.

there is a huge difference in bailing out and getting paid back or just taking and taking from the government for nothing in return.

You mean like paying zero taxes…..and getting a lower tax rate for certain “income” vs. others labor income…. nothing in return…..
