Alarmed by polls that they claim not to believe, conservatives are rushing to find explanations for why Mitt Romney may lose the presidential race.
You know, the race that they claim they don’t believe he’s losing.
The obvious explanation is the same one they trotted out after their 2008 defeat at the hands of Barack Obama: The media. Four years ago, you may recall, Obama supposedly got elected because the media failed to “vet” him properly by making a big deal of the Rev. Wright and Tony Rezko and the birth certificate, etc. Such criticism overlooked the fact that their own presidential candidate, John McCain, also failed to make a big deal of those things. He and his staff not only judged those claims unconvincing, they feared they would cause a backlash against the GOP should he bring them up.
You see, McCain understood that the things that get the base all riled — the things that they see with perfect clarity through their right-wing lens — just don’t look the same to the rest of the country.
This year, the press is once again coming under attack from conservatives unable to believe that they again appear to be losing an election to that Kenyan Marxist anti-colonialist. In fact, if you accept the notion that right-wing vitriol rises in direct proportion to right-wing desperation, these arguments provide more compelling evidence of Mitt Romney’s problems than any poll could offer.
For example, Mona Charen complains that “Mitt Romney is facing perhaps the most corrupt and tendentious coverage in presidential history as members of the fourth estate eschew any semblance of integrity in their attempt to skew interpretations in favor of their pinup, Mr. Obama.”
“In 1988, Michael Kinsley issued a now-famous definition: “A gaffe is when a politician tells the truth — some obvious truth he isn’t supposed to say.”
Now, almost a quarter century later, we need a new definition for the word. Here’s mine: “A gaffe is a statement that makes a Republican politician look bad.”
And of course, the always consistent Jennifer Rubin at The Washington Post, apoplectic that Obama supposedly called the death of Ambassador Chris Stevens “a bump in the road,” tell us that “Had Romney said such a preposterous and grossly insensitive thing as Obama did, there would be calls for him to quit the race; alas, when Obama does it’s not even front-page news for most of the mainstream media.”
(The fact that Obama said no such thing does not deter Rubin in her belief that the media should have condemned him for it.)
However, to get an insight into just how deep this thing really runs, you have to go to the home page of National Review, where they ask their readers an intriguing question: “Are conservative pundits too tough on Romney?”
And the answer is, of course they are!

Conservatives believe that even conservatives are biased against conservatives, THAT’S how big a conspiracy it is!

Now I do watch channel 4 news in the AM here in the ATL.

F. Sinkwich: “There exists no, as in zero, zip, nada conservative bias EVER at ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, WaPo, NY Times, AJC, etc.”
As I explained, there is barely any outlet as war-mongering as the Washington Post, a place where every rumor and half-baked rationale for why we should join the Netanyahu/Likud party line in justifying a pre-emptive attack on Iran is breezily aired right from the mouthpiece of the editorial page.
The views expressed on such matters dovetail nicely with some of the more warlike right wing views expressed here as we saw in the previous thread.
As for the New York Times, while it is certainly not as breathless in its rush to justify war adventures like Iraq, it’s not far behind the WaPo, especially when you consider the platform it gives warmongers like Thomas Friedman.
So, if you don’t think that there is any “conservative” opinion represented by any of the MSM outlets in this country, that just goes to show how little you know about how the media really works.

“…condemns the continuing efforts by misguided individuals to hurt the religious feelings of Muslims — as we condemn efforts to offend believers of all religions. …are honoring our patriots and those who serve our nation as the fitting response to the enemies of democracy. Respect for religious beliefs is a cornerstone of American democracy. We firmly reject the actions by those who abuse the universal right of free speech to hurt the religious beliefs of others.”
“Our response is to say that while we certainly don’t agree with, support, or in some cases, we condemn the views that are aired in public that are published in media organizations around the world, we, at the same time, defend the right of those individuals to express their views. For us, freedom of expression is at the core of our democracy and it is something that we have shed blood and treasure around the world to defend and we will continue to do so. That said, there are other aspects to democracy, our democracy — democracies around the world — and that is to promote understanding, to promote respect for minority rights, to try to appreciate the differences that may exist among us.”

Every non editorial article has a worldview behind it whether it be a Liberal or Conservative article. No serious person can deny the existence of liberal bias among the MSM. The press works almost in tandem with the Obama campaign to advance its arguments and downplay its candidate’s mistakes and shortcomings. Media bias is nothing new. It has been demonstrated in studies ranging over at least the last thirty years that the press leans decisively to the left. Just last year, Professor Tim Groseclose — no conservative — argued convincingly that media bias typically aids Democrats by 8-10 points in a typical election. It’s not as big a conspiracy as many conservatives think, it’s just the way most of the MSM believe and they report accordingly. After Watergate, the tone of journalism changed from reporting from the sidelines to being in the game.

Arthur Brisbane as he left the NYT observed this: ‘When The Times covers a national presidential campaign, I have found that the lead editors and reporters are disciplined about enforcing fairness and balance, and usually succeed in doing so. Across the paper’s many departments, though, so many share a kind of political and cultural progressivism — for lack of a better term — that this worldview virtually bleeds through the fabric of The Times.
As a result, developments like the Occupy movement and gay marriage seem almost to erupt in The Times, overloved and undermanaged, more like causes than news subjects.’

Quick examples off top of my head the Wall Street Journal and AP both claimed 18000 to be at an event in Wisconsin. With the AP even claiming it was the largest crowd this campaign season.
But it appears that the venue the Henry Maier Festival Park only holds about 5000 and worse I believe a local news showed footage of the event and it was not even full to capacity.

9:53 pm
While media bias has always existed, the American public seems to finally be realizing what I’ve realized for a while now: the ObamaMedia is in the tank for Barack Obama (hence the label, the ObamaMedia). This bias has become incredibly blatant because the ObamaMedia feels the need to defend itself, because it is largely responsible for the election of Barack Obama in 2008. His failure is their failure, so they will do what they can to make sure that he does not fail in November.
This bias comes in many forms. Here are just a few examples from the last few days …
CBS Doesn’t Air Obama Admitting Mistakes in Campaign Ads
CBS Concedes: Romney Better Push Libya Because the Press Won’t ‘Make the Case for Him’
Politico, WSJ and AP Report Obama Crowd in Wis. of About 5,000 as 18,000
Brent Bozell and the folks at the Media Research Center and Newsbusters have been chronicling this bias for years. In fact, Bozell just wrote a column on this the other day: ‘Bias by Omission’ in Liberal Media Has ‘Gotten to Ridiculous Heights.’ Sometimes the bias isn’t even in how you cover a story but what stories you choose to cover (or ignore).

I feel the same way—I’ve gotten to the point where I tune out much of the political coverage because it makes my blood pressure so high. Here’s an example of what I’m talking about. On that same homepage at NBC News, here are the headlines for today:
1.Romney paid 14.1 percent effective tax rate in 2011
2.Obama’s battleground advantage grows
3.Obama hits Romney on 47 percent: ‘I don’t see a lot of victims’
4.Ryan gets boos at AARP conference
5.Polls: Obama ahead in Colorado, Iowa and Wisconsin
6.Obama swipes at Romney over ‘47 percent’ comments
And yet we know that Romney also gave away $4 million last year to charity; that there are just as many polls showing Romney within the margin of error as show Obama ahead; and that Ryan was also applauded at the AARP conference—but there is no mention of those in the headlines. Apparently NBC feels we need to be reminded twice that Obama disagrees with Romney’s ‘47 percent’ comment.

Almost 3 hours and not one blogger has presented an article from today’s msm dissecting all the bias…….
They need talk radio, newsbusters and Fox to tell them the “examples” or they wouldn’t even have a clue

When did I claim it was there for anyone to see?
I’ll look forward to you dissecting all 50 examples given.
I mean you been asking for one, hell there are 50.
And yep I picked the one that was most present in my mind. But yet that makes it wrong. I’ll look forward to your dissection of that as well.
In my opinion most of the bias displayed in media regardless of if its conservative or liberal biasis the same it is here on a blog. It is done through omission of information. Or the ole good for the goose good for the gander thing.
Have you honestly never witnessed a bias by conservative or liberal media?
And yet another example...

Internal Department of Justice emails obtained by The Daily Caller show Attorney General Eric Holder’s communications staff has collaborated with the left-wing advocacy group Media Matters for America in an attempt to quell news stories about scandals plaguing Holder and America’s top law enforcement agency.
Dozens of pages of emails between DOJ Office of Public Affairs Director Tracy Schmaler and Media Matters staffers show Schmaler, Holder’s top press defender, working with Media Matters to attack reporters covering DOJ scandals.

BOTH..I don’t have the time or inclination to quote thousands of individual articles and I can tell you are not responding to my superior reasoning and arguments. The bias is in the ‘fabric’ of the articles as the reporting is being filtered in a particularly biased way. Happens with Libs and Cons. I gave you at least 50 examples of where this LW bias played out. Just because you don’t like the messenger doesn’t mean the message isn’t true. I need to find someone to dialogue with that is smarter than a 5th grader. Goodnight.

Just manup, neocons and quit whining about how everyone is out to get you.

To all the Conservatives here on this blog: Isn’t funny to watch Libs deny something so obvious most of them don’t truly believe their denials? They are just glad for it. To deny bias in any media is ignorant and to deny LW bias in the MSM is beyond ignorant. Sheesh.

Jam…I deal in facts as I see them. Life isn’t fair and neither is politics. The irritating thing to me as a Conservative is that even though I feel he is a superior candidate to Obama, Romney is what I have to vote for. It’s been a long time for me that I have not had to hold my nose when I vote.
