Romney post-convention bump looks modest at best
The folks at Gallup have completed their post-GOP convention polling duties, and the reviews are not complimentary. Mitt Romney has enjoyed little or no post-convention bump, and his acceptance speech was rated excellent or good by just 38 percent of those who saw it.
While that may not sound terrible, Gallup reports that it is easily the worst rating given to any of the last eight convention acceptance speeches.
A Reuters-Ipsos poll also reports no sustained bump for Romney, and puts the race at essentially tied headed into the DNC convention in Charlotte.
“Ipsos pollster Julia Clark said she was confident Obama’s numbers would improve during his convention.
“The fact that Obama and Romney are still tied signals to me that we’re not going to see any sort of sustained bump for Romney,” Clark said. “As we go into next week’s convention, Romney will struggle to maintain even footing with the president – we’ll likely see a shift back towards Obama.”
While each candidate won overwhelming support from voters in his own political party, Romney was leading Obama among all-important independent voters by 33 percent to 28 percent, the poll found.”
Rasmussen reports what it calls a “modest” bounce for Romney, whom it has leading 48-to-44 percent.

Thanks for the rub recipe. Raichlen’s is very similar except he adds celery seed, and no matter how much I cut back on the celery seed, I always seem to get a mouthful of bitterness when I eat. I’ve still got a few tablespoons left over from the last batch and I hate to throw it away, but I hate ruining something else if I try to add to it.

Yes. I’ve had my mind changed by comments on here. Matter of fact I remember the first time I had a serious mind change. Butch Cassidy was telling me about some wealthy tax breaks and why he thought that the system favored the wealthy too much. At first I disagreed with him but the more I thought about it the more I realized he was right. Posted back to him later in the day that the side of my brain that wasn’t half shyte had to agree with him.
Damn. I just saw that Michael Clark Duncan died. He was indeed a fine actor. I can’t think of a movie he played in that I didn’t like him and his character. That sucks.

Josef, I could use some help on ‘ancestrial,’ but I think I’ve got the ‘uppity’ part – member of NOW dontcha know.
Must say tho, I have not had to pay school taxes for several years due to my age. I posted this before & somebody called me out for it, saying I should be glad to pay ‘em. Well I would if I weren’t trying to live on my meager income. Twenty-four k per yr can only stretch so far. Car is paid for, but it is a ‘93 & needs repairs. And underwater mortgage still must be paid. Not to mention that the prices of EVERYTHING just keep going UP and my income isn’t.

hey josef! yep it was very lonely for me in Kyleville. There were strange and annoying things there called “republicans” who thought they knew everything!!
These people even had the nerve to chastise me when I said that Wilson, (You LIe!) disrespected Obama! They pulled out numerous instances of Duby being “chastised by the media, not disrespected, and try to paint a picture of equivalence.
It was really really weird over there. It was spooky and unreal — like I’d woken up in a Sylvestor Stallone movie.
