Let’s raise a glass to the hard-working people! (You and me)

As we slide into the Labor Day weekend, I cannot think of a more appropriate way to mark the holiday than to enlist some exceedingly rich people — all of them self-made capitalists of course — to sing the praises of the hard-working people, the lowly of birth, the rag-tagged people, the salt of the earth.

So … SAAALLLUTTTTE!

“Protesters planning rallies and marches in Charlotte say their actions during the Democratic National Convention will likely dwarf those in Tampa, where thousands of demonstrators were expected but only hundreds showed up to the rain-drenched Republican National Convention.

If you consider pointing out that you cut-n-pasted some bigoted statement as an attack, then you need to toughen up a bit there. Furthermore, if you post some bigoted stuff and co-sign on it in agreement, you’d better believe I’m gonna call you a bigot.

I was not being uncivil, and I entertain debate from anybody at anytime. Don’t assume that just because you’re chronologically older than me that I don’t have first hand experience and/or knowledge of what I talk about.

Finally, I have no earthly idea of who made you arbiter of who’s civil and debating and not. So, your idea of what’s improving, what’s civil, or anything else has absolutely no anchor in truth in my opinion. However, if you must judge, remember that you will also be judged.

And exactly how do you know that was the reason that a lot of Americans of all races voted for Obama? How many of these Americans did you personally question or see respond to a questionnaire in such fashion?

What you’re suggesting is nothing more than your personal opinion. Don’t try to pass your opinion off as some kind of factual information. Do you not remember the shape our country was in back in 2008? Do you not recall who was in control of the White House then? Do you not recall the midterm election of 2006?

You put wayyyy too much emphasis on Obama’s race. Obama is actually the first HALF Black president as he’s half White as well.

I was a big McCain supporter in 2000, but the Rove machine neutered McCain then, and he has not been the same since. Don’t try to trash the competition because your team sucks. If you had a candidate that had more experience than Obama, why did you not nominate that candidate?

Where is your candidate of experience in this election? Romney can’t run on his Bain experience. Everytime that comes up, he ducks faster than the 2012 National Dodgeball Champion. Romney can’t run on his experiences as governor. Every bit of information about that was bought up and/or scrubbed by his administration at the end of his term. So, what experience does Romney have that makes him the better candidate for president when his competition has ACTUALLY been the president?

I’m not the one who tout’s “experience” as a requisite for a candidate. As we’ve seen in recent history, most incumbents usually get a 2nd term. I wasn’t worried about experience in 2008, and I’m not the one bringing it up now.

2) Even Obama’s “technical” experience as president is far outweighed by his danger to this Republic.

And you are entitled to your opinion, but you can not make your opinion stand up as fact. The only true danger that I personally see with Obama as president is an opposition party who’s doing everything at their disposal to make him fail, even if their actions completely wreck the country in the process. The grotesque sand sculpture of Obama that was going to be used at the DNC convention in Charlotte was washed away by the rain. They are feverishly trying to repair it and for what purpose I don’t know. The sculpture makes Obama look like a smiling jovial black character from the label on a barbeque sauce bottle (minus the chefs hat). Soon, Obama’s sculpture won’t be on the only thing washed away. So will his short lived but highly damaging term as president.

TBS .. .. I think newspapers are headed in the home (landline) telephone direction. Digital media on the net is going to take over in the ten or 20 years

I would say the 3 major networks at 6 have the highest ratings. How that compares to total viewership of the 24/7 opinion shows, most of it isn’t news on any of the channels, I have no idea.

I agree with Bill Kristol, no liberal by any means, who said several years ago that the liberal media is as much as an excuse for the right as anything. Easy to bash and blame if you lose and say how you triumphed over them if you win.

Bush Sr campaign manager once said the right complaining about the liberal media is basically a coach badgering the referees constantly in hopes that during the game you get some calls you way that you probably do not deserve…..

I agree nothing is perfect and never has been, but it is an excuse in my opinion

One of the right wing talking heads admitted as much years ago. I can’t remember if it was Coulter or if it was Kristol that I remember bringing up that point. The whole idea of the “liberal” media stuff is to stir up emotion and steer gullible minds towards right leaning media sources who claim to be presenting factual evidence that others ignore.

The primary example of would be the claim that mainstream media didn’t vet Obama in 2008. Making that claim as though it’s atually fact lets the right leaning media off the hook because they are not “mainstream”. However, if that were indeed a fact, then that would mean that the right leaning media outlets failed at their job as well. You will never, ever hear them say they failed at anything, but they will point the finger at everyone else instead.

Bro

Read over at Wingfield’s earlier where one of the regulars who used to post over here was asking was the media going to vet Obama next week?

I guess she wants to know if he was caught talking in class during the 3rd grade and had to write sentences and if he wears briefs, boxers or both…………

They BOTH suck
