Condi Rice breaks gender barrier at Augusta National

Good work, Billy Payne. It’s about time — well, way past the time, to be honest — and there will be more to come, I’m sure.

From the Associated Press:

“NEW YORK (AP) – For the first time in its 80-year history, Augusta National Golf Club has female members.

The home of the Masters, under increasing criticism the last decade because of its all-male membership, invited former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and South Carolina financier Darla Moore to become the first women in green jackets when the club opens for a new season in October.

Both women accepted.”

At a time when poverty is increasing, when public parks and public libraries are being closed and when public schools are shrinking their offerings and their hours, when the nation’s debt is immense, and when the 400 richest Americans have more wealth than the bottom 150 million of us put together — Romney’s 13 percent is shameful.

They are a private business, and their choice whether or not to accept women is theirs alone. Your choice to boycott or support them is yours. That said, the anti-women rule was antiquated and pointless, but it was theirs to break. Ultimately, membership in any golf club is meaningless. Your legacy is with your family, and they care more about how you treated and cared for them than what your handicap was.

“Illegitimate rape” when she find out after the act the he is married or when someone else finds out he is black.
Rape is no joke. Many women opt not to pursue because the legal system forces them to relive the ordeal in public. Akin solution is not to punish the child, but punish the rapist and the mother. He is exactly punishing that child and mother.

“Because the public should be able to decide the admission guidelines of a ‘private’ club?”

Well the “public” per say didn’t make the decision. However, there is this little tournament that they put on every year in April. It brings in people from all over the world.

To put on a tournament of this magnitude even Augusta National and its partner CBS require a lot of money. They get this money via sponsorships from corporate America. Those corporations have female executives and can you believe in some cases even female CEOs. Besides the executives, these corporations have other companies and people called shareholders. Shareholders invest in these corporations and are owners of the business. Yes you guessed it, females also take part in this shareholder deal. Can you believe it?

Well to make a long story short, the sponsor(s) no longer want to hear about or address these issues any longer. While they can’t make Augusta National accept anyone, they do have the right through their MILLIONS in “sponsorhsip”(remember corporations are people) to apply pressure on Augusta and even CBS in efforts to get them to nudge Augusta in the direction that they took.

Obama campaign intentionally lying for pandering purposes. Polling shows the public not caught by surprise.

…the House Budget Committee chairman rolled out a different version in 2012 — taking into account Democratic critiques. Though the 2012 plan is more moderate, Obama and his surrogates have all but ignored the newer version as they amp up their accusations against the Romney-Ryan ticket.

Most glaringly, the campaign has omitted a key point.

While Ryan’s 2011 plan proposes to give seniors a government payment to buy private insurance, his 2012 plan offers seniors a choice.

Under the blueprint, seniors could use the payment to buy private insurance or stay in traditional Medicare.

This distinction rarely comes up at Obama campaign events…
