In the health-care debate, we’ve all watched as the proudest single accomplishment of a self-described “severely conservative” Republican governor has somehow been transformed into proof of Marxist intent once that same plan was adopted by a Democratic president.
It’s political alchemy at its best. In fact, as testimony to the power of propaganda, that one’s hard to beat. It reminds us that if people really want to believe something — even something manifestly ridiculous, illogical and countermanded by facts — they will still find a way to do so.
But this example of that same phenomenon comes in a close second:
“Gun sales are soaring nationwide and retailers say that’s not unusual to see during a presidential election year. “Basically the situation you have now is 2008 all over again,” said Steven B. Drew, owner of Georgia Gun and Loan.
Analysts say the 2008 spike came from fear that new gun control legislation would make it more difficult to acquire firearms. “People were uncertain what the new president and the new administration was going to do so there tends to be a upsurge in fire arm sales in general,” said Drew.
Now, they are seeing it all over again. “A lot of people got guns and they certainly don’t want to be without ammo. If they think they are going to cut back on the ammunition they are going to stock pile it so they wont be out,” said Jackie Sizemore, the owner of Backwoods Outdoors.
Sizemore says his store has been busy. He’s constantly having to re-order guns and ammo to keep supplies on the shelves. “You’ll be out of a lot of goods, people will be waiting on a lot of stuff ,” he said.
Weapons like pistols and tactical weapons like AR-15s.
“Those are what you will find on the chopping block first they will do away with tactical type guns like that and high capacity magazines stuff like that,”he said.
In fact, Sizemore says he can barely keep AR-15s on the shelf. “Everybody will be out of AR 15s. You won’t be able to find them anywhere,” he said.

A screen-grab from the NRA's "gunbanobama.com" website.
As I’ve noted earlier, we’ve been through this before. During the 2008 campaign, Wayne LaPierre and the NRA warned gun owners that Barack Obama had a 10-point plan to confiscate all of their guns and ammunition.
Point One was supposed to be a federal ban on the use of guns for home defense. Point Three was a ban on the sale, manufacture and possession of handguns. Point Four was the closure of 90 percent of American gunshops. Federal taxes on guns and ammunition were supposed to go up 500 percent, and the sale of ammunition for hunting rifles was supposed to be banned altogether.
And of course, none of that ever happened. It was all tinfoil-hat stuff, manufactured to part the gullible from their money, and it worked spectacularly well. Based on a completely fabricated threat, the NRA and its sponsors in the gun industry terrified the suckers into buying huge quantities of the gun industry’s products. Ka-ching!
Now, you might think that people who get fooled so badly would learn a lesson from that humiliation. They might get wary of those who had played them for dummies. But once again, such thinking fails to account for the fact that sometimes people just want to be fooled, and if people want to be played for suckers there is no way on earth to help them.
Consider, if you will, LaPierre’s explanation for why that 10-point plan was never implemented. He now argues that the fact that Obama has done nothing regarding gun control — the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence has even given Obama an “F” rating — in fact proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that he’s a sinister gun-grabber.
And yes, that is actually the argument that they are using. And yes, that is the argument that is driving gun owners into the stores to buy still more guns. Like people lining up for a rollercoaster ride, they are scared because they want to be scared and, I suspect, even enjoy it at some level.
And the people scaring them are chuckling all the way to the bank.

PD @ 8.43, if you want a real treat, actually *watch* that Bush video wherein he utters that now-famous bollocks-up of a line everyone already knows.

(ignore the laugh-trackin’ in the background–it was probably swiped from Jon Stewart or such.)
What’s really priceless, what keeps me coming back to watch it again and again, is what Bush actually DOES, body-English-wise, when he realizes he’s screwing up. He starts SELLING it. You get the impression that he’s been there, done that scores of times in the past. You can see the gears turning in his brain: “I can make this work, if I just put my hand out there like… SO. And deliver the rest of the line with confidence.”

2 1/2 Pinocchios for this essay. Suggesting that the 70 page RomneyCare is virtually identical to the 2500 page ObamaCare is a journalist tort. If you want to write about deceptions, why not mention that the leftist whining about tax returns is phony, and that not a single one of them would actually vote for Romney if he published them? The entire essay is the usual leftist attack on private groups and private thoughts, none of which have anything to do with the constrictive regulations that are crushing the economy.

This “president” received that Brady rating is because we were smart to stock up our caches before “he” was installed into office in January 2009. Why is this a pure fact? Because WE THE PEOPLE who have common sense know full well that this “administration” along with the UN and Hillary Clinton have a master plan to round up private owners’ weapons caches. There once was a guy named Adolph who cooked up a scheme to take average private citizens’ weapons. I think we all know how that story turned out many years ago. They WILL NEVER take my stockpile. So, when the jihadists storm our borders, Bill White will be ready and naive secular progressives will be left behind to fend for themselves.

Democrats have a well-earned reputation as gun-grabbing weasels.
Need proof?
Just look at the draconian gun laws in lib ilk Meccas like DC, NY, SF, etc.
It’s common knowledge that Dems would implement such laws nationally if they got the chance. It’s in their DNA.
Now they’re shocked, shocked, that the populace actually believes what they’ve advocated for years.

Political classifications have become a social classification in this generation. If you run with a macho crowd you have to be conservative, if you run with a religious crowd you have to be conservative, if you are liberal you are gay, communist or worse. For these social reasons declaring one’s self open minded especially in the south which has a innate inferiority complex to start with will shut down any popularity your natural personality can muster.
I have notice the most brilliant southern people with facilitate the most brain dead beliefs in fear of not getting into a country club or private school or any other social reward held high. So you have Ivy Leaguers in the south believing gay life is a personal choice, Obama is not born in this country, and illegals are the ruination of this nation. To think differently is not worth the torture to many. Religion gets the same drag of logic because it is not religion people practice it is to be seen that matters. If you are liberal that is not an option in the south, creativity depends upon different, social well being depends on walking a straight line.

All this fear-mongering causes people to go buy up all the ammo and guns they can find and suddenly -WOW! The shelves are empty, which is taken as evidence that the bans are happening or mysterious forces are at work. It’s not evidence and there are no mysterious forces. The empty shelves are caused by people buying up all the stuff. Very simple. The gun store owners love this because they get to flip inventory for extra profit -nobody worries about shopping for a bargain when they feel threatened- so there’s no need to worry about matching Walmart’s price for ammo. Heck, in 2008, Walmart was out of ammo for months thanks to this stupid paranoia.
I own a gun and had to stop going to the shooting range because all the jokers were stalking Walmart delivery trucks and buying the stuff the second it was put out for sale. Who bought it? The gun store owners who promptly took it back to their stores and resold it for two or three times the price, all the while telling all their customers how bad it was gonna get just to make sure they bought whatever the store had. The store owners made out like bandits.
So sure, they want to see a repeat of that in 2012. Bring on the fear and extra profit.

The NRA likes to put it in your face in order to raise money (I am a gun owner, and don’t agree with this tactic). Actually, the assault on gun ownership is more insidious. They seek to 1) make it harder to get/transfer weapons without leaving a paper trail and 2) make it difficult to get ammunition for the gun. The real threats are things like the EPA regulating lead used in bullets. Or, stopping person-to-person sales of weapons without transferring through an FFL (those with a license to transfer firearms who will use the NICS database), thus adding a fee to every sale and creating a pseudo “registry” of all guns (assuming most guns change hands within a generation).
Most actual gun owners see through the NRA nonsense. They are more concerned about ammunition shortages like occurred in 2008 and persisted for almost two years.
I don’t think people are viewing this election like that in 2008. In 2008, there was real concern that a Democratic led house/senate/whitehouse would act against gun owners. They didn’t, as they were too busy with Obamacare to pay attention to anything else including guns or the economy. This election is not the same, but there is always a concern that the WH will use it’s executive power to rule on some aspect of gun ownership that will be illegal and will take the courts to untangle.

I used to be an NRA member because I do support the good that they do – gun safety and hunter education, amateur competition, national firearms museum, and other worth while activities. However, they seem to be spending most of their time as a political organization. I would get more e-mail and phone calls from the NRA-ILA about defeating Obama this fall than about anything else. Yes, I want my Second Amendment rights protected but the fear mongering by the NRA is over the top.
I remember after the last election cycle many gun store had photos of President Obama with the caption, “Salesman of the Year.” This year, they need to use LaPierre’s photo.

In July, a federal judge in Florida permanently blocked an NRA-backed Florida law that threatened to strip doctors of their medical licenses if they warned patients about the proven risks of guns in the home. The court ruled that the law violates the First Amendment because it interferes with truthful speech about the dangers of easy access to guns.

A federal judge in Texas agreed with the Brady Center’s legal briefs and threw out an NRA-supported challenge to the Obama Administration’s Mexico gun trafficking rule requiring that gun shops along the Mexico border report bulk high-powered rifle sales to law enforcement.
This victory exposes the lie behind the gun lobby’s claims that it wants to enforce the laws on the books, and it reveals the gun lobby hypocrisy over their feigned indignation about Attorney General Holder and the Fast and Furious controversy. The gun lobby wants to keep law enforcement from cracking down on gun trafficking to Mexico because it jeopardizes gun industry profits, and this ruling is a sharp blow to gun industry’s efforts to keep profiting off sales to traffickers.
OMG, you mean that the conned poutrage over Fast and Furious, spurred by the lies of the NRA guppies, could be feigned?

This one’s for you, MiltonMan. You party pooper:
Virtually every gun starts out as a legally manufactured product, but the
Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) points to three common ways guns move from legal distribution channels to the criminal market:
•Corrupt federally licensed gun dealers: Federally licensed gun dealers send more guns to the criminal market than any other single source. Nearly 60% of the guns used in crime are traced back to a small number—just 1.2%—of crooked gun dealers. Corrupt dealers frequently have high numbers of missing guns, in many cases because they’re selling guns “off the books” to private sellers and criminals. In 2005, the ATF examined 3,083 gun dealers and found 12,274 “missing” firearms.
•Straw purchasing: Straw purchasing is the most common way criminals get guns, accounting for almost 50% of trafficking investigations. A straw purchaser is someone with a clean record who buys guns on behalf of someone legally prohibited from possessing guns. Straw purchasers are often the friends, relatives, spouses or girlfriends of prohibited purchasers. The two Columbine High School shooters recruited friends to buy guns for them at Colorado gun shows. One of the buyers admitted she would not have bought the guns if she had been required to submit to a background check.
•Gun Shows and private gun sales: Gun shows have been called “Tupperware parties for criminals” because they attract large numbers of prohibited buyers. A loophole in federal law allows unlicensed or “private” sellers, many of whom work out of gun shows, to lawfully sell or transfer guns without conducting a criminal background check. Gun show dealers have been known to advertise to criminals with signs that read “no background checks required here.”

So, using your logic, (1) The FEDERALLY licensed gun dealers = all cons; (2) Straw purchaser is a liberal who convinces his con friends to buy guns from a con dealer; (3)Criminals are libs who buy their guns at gun shows from cons. So the ATF agents in Fast & Furious were all libs who were forced to buy guns from all cons who also forced them to “hand-over” said guns to libs in Mexico.

NIGHT WATCHMAN
Once upon a time the government had a vast scrap yard in the middle of a desert.
Congress said, “Someone may steal from it at night.”
So they created a night watchman position and hired a person for the job.
Then Congress said, “How does the watchman do his job without instruction?”
So they created a planning department and hired two people, one person to write the instructions, and one person to do time studies.
Then Congress said, “How will we know the night watchman is doing the tasks correctly?”
So they created a Quality Control department and hired two people. One was to do the studies and one was to write the reports.
Then Congress said, “How are these people going to get paid?”
So they created two positions: a time keeper and a payroll officer then hired two people.
Then Congress said, “Who will be accountable for all of these people?”
So they created an administrative section and hired three people, an Administrative Officer, Assistant Administrative Officer, and a Legal Secretary.
Then Congress said, “We have had this command in operation for one year and we are $918,000 over budget, we must cut back.”
So they laid-off the night watchman.
NOW slowly, let it sink in.
Quietly, we go like sheep to slaughter. Does anybody remember the reason given for the establishment of the DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY during the Carter administration?
Anybody?
Anything?
No?
Didn’t think so!
Bottom line is, we’ve spent several hundred billion dollars in support of an agency, the reason for which very few people who read this can remember!
Ready??
It was very simple… and at the time, everybody thought it very
appropriate.
The Department of Energy was instituted on 8/04/1977, TO LESSEN OUR DEPENDENCE ON FOREIGN OIL.
Hey, pretty efficient, huh???
AND NOW IT’S 2012 — 35 YEARS LATER — AND THE BUDGET FOR THIS “NECESSARY” DEPARTMENT IS AT $24.2 BILLION A YEAR. IT HAS 16,000 FEDERAL EMPLOYEES ANDAPPROXIMATELY 100,000 CONTRACT EMPLOYEES; AND LOOK AT THE JOB IT HAS DONE!
(THIS IS WHERE YOU SLAP YOUR FOREHEAD AND SAY, “WHAT WERE THEY THINKING?”)
34 years ago 30% of our oil consumption was foreign imports. Today 70% of our oil consumption is foreign imports.
Ah, yes — good old Federal bureaucracy.
NOW, WE HAVE TURNED OVER THE BANKING SYSTEM, HEALTH CARE, AND THE AUTO INDUSTRY TO THE SAME GOVERNMENT?
Hello!! Anybody Home?
Signed….

It’s political alchemy at its best. In fact, as testimony to the power of propaganda, that one’s hard to beat. It reminds us that if people really want to believe something — even something manifestly ridiculous, illogical and countermanded by facts — they will still find a way to do so.
++++
One man’s propaganda is another man’s truths. There is a big difference between doing something at the state level and doing something at a national level. For one the people of Mass probably favor the legislation while nationally people don’t. Also, Obama criticised Hillary for manadates. All politicians are flip floppers.

The UN and its anti-USA detractors are meeting on our soil to discuss moves to implement removing small-arms, both military and private, from the hands of the citizens of its member nations. Guess who’s citizens hold the most small-arms in their possession…..USA, of course. So, why not be paranoid when dealing with a President that advocates his Secretary of State voting for and signing the Small Arms Treaty on July 27th in NYC. He will try to circumvent the legislative process in the US for enforcing international rule that he feels will need no approval, other than his. Yes, there is reason to be paranoid.

Congress has passed a series of laws that allow easy access to guns and restrict law enforcement’s ability to go after traffickers. Three policies in particular impede law enforcement’s ability to prosecute traffickers:
•Keeping crime gun trace information secret: Until 2002, the ATF released aggregate crime gun trace reports to local police departments, researchers, policymakers and public safety advocates. The reports revealed for the first time that 1.2% of federally licensed gun dealers supply 57% of the guns used in crime. But, bowing to pressure from the gun lobby, Congress voted to restrict police access to crime gun trace data and cut off public access altogether. These restrictions, known as the Tiahrt Amendments (named for the Kansas Congressman who sponsored the bill), have passed in every Department of Justice budget since 2003, despite the fact that prominent law enforcement associations oppose them as a serious threat to public safety.
•Handcuffing the ATF: The ATF, the sole government agency charged with enforcing federal gun laws, has operated without a permanent director since the Bush Administration, and operates with just 1,800 agents to monitor approximately 77,000 gun dealers. Given these constraints, it would take ATF 22 years to inspect all federally licensed gun dealers. Even if the ATF had the manpower to inspect most gun dealers, federal law limits the agency to a single unannounced inspection of a dealer in any 12-month period. Congress has made it increasingly difficult for the ATF to revoke licenses of crooked gun dealers.
•An absence of records: It is impossible for law enforcement to know the whereabouts of millions of firearms in circulation today because Federal law explicitly bars the ATF from establishing a database of retail firearms sales, and private gun sellers are not required to keep a paper trail of transactions. Prior to 2001, federal authorities maintained criminal background check records for up to six months. Under President Bush, Attorney General John Ashcroft reversed this policy and ordered the destruction of all criminal background check records within 24 hours. Even though the General Accounting Office found that destroying these records endangers public safety, the policy remains in effect.
MiltonMan forget to tell us that Bush and Ashcroft were libs! Them libs and their guns!

It’s hard for Jay and his lefty friends to appreciate freedom. Bookman has never cared about liberty or freedom, only government control. When those of us who don’t like the rising level of government control buy guns, it never occurs to Jay to solve the problem, only to regulate the response. Pretty soon life will come with a ten thousand page rule book that Jay and the democrats draft to keep the rest of us in line. It’s what collectivists have always done when actual people don’t properly appreciate the “workers paradise” that the elites have created for them.

Historical tidbit about that paranoid NRA…
From Wikipedia,
“NRA formed a legislative affairs division in response to debate concerning passage of the National Firearms Act in 1934. NRA supported that act, the first major federal legislation about gun control, and also supported the Federal Firearms Act of 1938. The two acts created a system to license gun dealers and imposed very high taxes on the private ownership of automatic weapons (”machine guns”).”
“The Civilian Marksmanship Program was authorized by Congress in 1903 and run by the United States Army from 1916 to 1996 to transfer obsolete military firearms to United States civilians to learn and practice marksmanship skills with NRA so they would be skilled marksmen if later called on to serve in the U.S. military.”

0311 — ““President Jimmy Carter signed into law The Department of Energy Organization Act of 1977 (Pub.L. 95-91, 91 Stat. 565, enacted August 4, 1977), which created the Department of Energy”
Yes, he did. Which Presidents Nixon and Ford largely set up, just as I said.
Do you seriously expect us to believe that President Carter set up, created and got Congress to approve an entire Cabinet-leve Federal Department in the first seven months he was in office? Really? Do you honestly expect us to believe that Washington works THAT fast? (laughing)
“Carter took it from an “office” to a Cabinet Level Department ………. He owns it !”
Funny now no Republican actually “owns” anything they do, but the minute a Democrat steps into office, all the mud and garbage on the floors and walls is their fault.
You’re just too partisan and credulous to be reliable, 0311. You’re certainly entitled to your opinion, but if you can delude yourself into thinking that Carter did all that by his lonesome in just seven months, then you’re just fooling yourself.

LOL at you Mendacious Mitt the Great “Hunter” voters!
His history is one of being rabidly pro gun control. The man is going to take your guns away from you!
In 1994, when he was challenging Democratic Sen. Edward Kennedy, Romney supported two gun control measures — the Brady Bill, which required background checks for gun purchases, and a ban on certain types of assault weapons. Both were strongly opposed by most gun-rights advocates.
In a July 1994 question-and-answer session with voters arranged by the Boston Herald, Romney “reaffirmed” his support for both measures, the newspaper said. “I don’t think (the waiting period) will have a massive effect on crime, but I think it will have a positive effect,” Romney said.
In a subsequent interview published on Sept. 23, 1994, Romney said, “I don’t want special-interest groups making this their campaign. I don’t want their money. I don’t want their help. This is my race.” In the interview, Romney specifically mentioned gun-rights advocates, acknowledging that his stands on the two gun-control measures would put him at odds with such groups.
“That’s not going to make me the hero of the NRA,” he said, referring to the National Rifle Association. “I don’t line up with a lot of special interest groups.”
In his 2002 race for governor, Romney said during a debate against against Democrat Shannon O’Brien, “We have tough gun laws in Massachusetts; I support them.”

Hey I gotta another (con) idea for the NRA…start a chain of low-cost shooting ranges – hell, maybe even franchise em like yogurt stands – with volume discounts for ammo used that day. Pretty soon folks will have, as they say, shot their wad and have to restock for the day when ‘them Libs’ start trying to git them guns…see? Actually maybeeven a better idea would be for the fishing version of the NRA ought to start a campaign claiming that concerns about the dangers of contaminated fish will result in rods, reels and fast-a$$ boats being confiscated by the next non-fish eating President…now that ought to spur the economy.

Approximately 30,000 people are killed every year in America by guns. Clearly, guns are dangerous and you would think manufacturers would be careful about producing such a product. Instead, the NRA and gun manufacturers are doing everything possible to discredit gun laws and place as many weapons in American homes as possible. People with reasonable intelligence can see that these sociopathics are interested only in profit and are incapable of caring anything about human life. This puts you cons here who support the NRA 100% in a truly dubious position.

Consider this, if you will, Mr. Bookman.
Your side represents left wing kooks, elitists, geeks, academics, pacifists, and sissies afraid of guns. I’m sure I will get a reaction from your litte sharks, but it is what it is.
After your group hijacked this country via misinformation and low class propaganda in the last election, the pragmatic majority bought weapons and ammo as a knee-jerk reaction to what happened. Your liberal bunch in the Democrat Party has tried gun control for decades, but has failed. To a limited effect you all were successful in the sordid Clinton regime of banning magazines over the 10 round capacity and assault rifles. This liberal law was finally sun-setted in the Bush years.
Hillary Clinton has endorsed the UN’s proposal for gun control and we are quite aware of your intentions to levy a gun control law if the time is right for your success.
That time would be right if Obama was to be elected for 4 more years and the Senate and House would gain more Democrats. Since Obama would not have to worry about reelection, he and his troop of liberals would seize the moment with gun control.
We are hardly suckers, chump. We are pragmatists who know full well how you kooks think.
Besides, all this weapons and ammo selling is good for American business. Something that liberals know nothing about. This economy run by the contraints of Democrat government control is proof in the pudding.
This silly little essay of yours this morning only makes sense to your dedicated chior, preacher.

Adding to my previous post, another false excuse Mr. Romney is using to avoid releasing his tax returns is that John Kerry had only released two years of returns in 2004. This is not true. As in “pants on fire” false. John Kerry released his tax returns every time he ran for Massachusetts Senator. By the time he ran for President, he had already released 20 years worth of returns. As former Governor of Massachusetts, Mitt Romney should know this for a fact.

Jay, since I have been visiting your blog I have learned a thing or two from you, mostly about economics, plus I can see where you most often do your homework before writing be it sometimes skewed by your idiology. But on this matter, you are all wrong.
The only, and I mean only reason there has not been changes in gun ownership is the grass roots up opposition that Obama cannot overcome. There may not be that many court decisions, etc, but there has been sufficient other Constitutional rights cases that he can see this one is unwinnable – except
If somehow Obama can get the UN Arms treaty approved by the Senate, he will at least partially accmplish some of his goal. If this was not the case, the US would not be participating in authoring the treaty.
I know the preface of the treaty references no conflict with our Second Amendment, but the preface is not the treaty.
There is absolutely no doubt that if Obama and the anti-gun portion of his base were to have their way, Americans would be stripped of most if not all their firearms.
Lastly, Obama is a Socialist. He is close to being a Marxist. If he had his way, he would be our last President. To take over a country, the first thing you do is take the weapons. There is a lot of history to suppport this theory. Call it tin foil hat. Call it what you will. But there are more people who believe it than there are hard Lefties. And no, I don’t have a link for all you doubters, but all you have to do is look to the Wisconsin recall results to see the power of the NRA and gun lobbies.

The question was raised as to why a person who has a job and pays taxes would vote for a democrat (or liberal). I have a job and pay taxes, and I intend to vote democrat for three major reasons.
1. Since 1928 there have been three stock market crashes – 1929, 1987, and 2007/8. All three occurred with republicans living in the white house. I do not like stock market crashes, so I don’t support the idea of republicans living in the white house.
2. Since 1928 there have been three financial crises – the banking crisis of 1930/31, the savings & loan crisis of the 1980s, and the banking crisis of 2007-2008. All three crises started with a republican living in the white house. I do not like financial crises, so I don’t support the idea of republicans living in the white house.
3. Since 1928 the stock market has gained over 12,800 points while democrats were living in the white house and has a net loss while republicans were living in the white house. I prefer it when the stock market goes up, so I prefer a democrat living in the white house.
There are other reasons, but these are three economic reasons that I prefer to have a democrat living in the white house.

Some guy’d be shot you’d be all ‘Dang, he must’ve done something, he’s got fifty thousand dollars worth of bullets in him!’ And people’d think before they shot someone ‘Man I will blow your head off, if I could afford it. I’m gonna get me a second job, start saving up, and you a dead man. You’d better hope I don’t get no bullets on lay-away!’ And even if you get shot you wouldn’t need to go to the emergency room. You said you would give a shot at answering why any business owner or tax payer would want to vote Democrat. So far you have asked a bunch of questions but have repeated dodged giving any type of answer. Where’s the obama love?
Feel free to give me the standard Democrat response of “You’re a racist”. I’m used to it by now…

And I disagree totally and completely. I think it does precisely that: authoriize citizens to keep and bear arms.

JKL — “You said you would give a shot at answering why any business owner or tax payer would want to vote Democrat. So far you have asked a bunch of questions but have repeated dodged giving any type of answer.”
By your own logic, you have repeatedly dodged clarifying your question because you won’t respond to me. Get over yourself.
I’m not dodging your question. I’m trying to get at why — if you think there are multiple factors that go into selecting the person for whom *you* will vote — you would demand that Democrats only consider *one* factor. That’s what your original question asked.
You need to pay closer attention to detail, Punkin.
“Where’s the obama love?”
Where’s the vaunted conservative wisdom and sense of fair play? If you’re going to stack the deck with the question and refuse to clarify yourself, then why should I play in your ballpark? You said it was a serious question, and I said that I didn’t believe you. The way it’s turning out, I was exactly right — you weren’t serious at all.

It all makes sense, ridiculous sense. Trash education, create an underclass, keep it loyal by identifying a minority population to blame for their circumstance and,… then convince them the low paying jobs are caused by taxes on the boss —- wait. …and arm them?
Reminds one of the lyrics from Bob Dylan’s southern political ode:
“…A finger fired the trigger to his name
A handle hid out in the dark
A hand set the spark
Two eyes took the aim
Behind a man’s brain
But he can’t be blamed
He’s only a pawn in their game.”

We haven’t heard from the fast ‘n furious whistleblowers yet. Evidently the gun buyers have money to spend and are helping the economy. Smith and Wesson did not build that gun business. Somebody else did. Glock did not… ya know awready….Atlanta cop responding to complaints about crime on Tech campus said the police can not be everywhere at once. You are responsible for your own safety. Supreme court said same thing. Obama really needs to go home and do something about the blood bath in Chicago. He has not really instilled any sense of security, and seems to consider more and more of us enemies of the people.

As the stock brokers say, past performance is no indication of future activity.
This man has shown that he will do what he thinks best, in spite of what the law or the Constitution says. If he doesn’t like the law or Constitution, he has learned ways around them.
Given a second term, there is a reasonable fear, that he may again seek to govern against the will of the people. Stock up, sight in your weapons, and practice your shooting; often you don’t get a second chance to defend yourself or your rights.

The ACA outlaws pre-existing conditions. Romney and the GOP by supporting repeal rather than amend would leave people out in the cold. If you or someone in your family had cancer, they would understand the importance of this and have no reason to support those that offer no solutions, just talk.

If you want an honest answer, then why won’t you provide honest clarification of your question? Is it because your question really is intended as a ‘gotcha?’

Fool me once shame on them, fool me twice shame on me..let them buy all the guns they want because in the future if the the 1% gets complete control of this country with the extremist Republicans help, all their guns will be of no use, because they will all be confiscated. What fool thinks the 1% would actually allow the peons to keep their weapons.
When you have people like a few heirs of Walmart fame, as just one example, with more wealth($89 Billion) than the bottom 124 million Americans, something is wrong in this country. You add in the Koch’s wealth in the Billions, Addlson’s Billions and a few others, well, as you can see it doesn’t take many Billionaires to come up with more money than the bottom 99%. So who is going to control what people can and can’t have? The Billionaires with the extremist Republican’s help will control every aspect of our lives including the military, who will then, confiscate our guns..No siree can’t let those starving peons with no jobs or income(the 99%) have guns, they might shoot at us..Think it can’t happen?

Everyone knows President Obama is pro gun control. Now with the Colorado movie massacre he must use his bully pulpit and seize this opportunity to lead the nation to become gun free!
Some gun nut states will vote against him but President Obama has a moral imperative to do what’s right. Even if he loses his election he’s won the argument.
