I’m trying to decide which right-wing reaction to Thursday’s Supreme Court ruling on ObamaCare is my favorite, and I just can’t settle on one winner. So maybe you could help me.
Here are your options:

A. An angry Glenn Beck — but I repeat myself — referring to Chief Justice John Roberts as “the Dread Pirate Roberts” and announcing that his website would be selling T-shirts featuring Roberts’ picture and the caption “Coward,” all for just $30.
B.) U.S. Rep. Jean Schmidt, R-Ohio, celebrating after hearing initial and incorrect reports that the Supreme Court had struck down the mandate:
C.) The statement put out by Roy Nicholson, chairman of the Mississippi Tea Party, who went all Jefferson Davis on us:
“All of us are now simply chattel of the government to be used and ordered about as they choose. The history books will mark this date as the day our constitutional republic was killed. It will now rest with We The People to decide if it will be resurrected or left to rot in the shallow grave dug for it.
Where is the weeping and wailing? Where is the anger and outrage? Do the people of the country realize what has just been stolen from them? Do the people of the world recognize that the shadow of darkness is now fallen upon them as well and that there remains no defender of their feeble freedoms? The all-out oppression of all people has begun.
Those “occupiers” now controlling the three federal branches of government have joined together in rejecting all Constitutional restraint and in doing so they have severely violated their oaths to support and defend the Constitution of the United States. Together they now stand as blatant usurpers of power and have reduced our constitutional republic, along with all of its freedoms, to nothing more than a dictatorial junta. Becoming a banana republic is next.
When a gang of criminals subvert legitimate government offices and seize all power to themselves without the real consent of the governed their every act and edict is of itself illegal and is outside the bounds of the Rule of Law. In such cases submission is treason. Treason against the Constitution and the valid legitimate government of the nation to which we have pledged our allegiance for years. To resist by all means that are right in the eyes of God is not rebellion or insurrection, it is patriotic resistance to invasion.
May all of us fall on our faces before the Heavenly Judge, repent of our sins, and humbly cry out to Him for mercy on our country. And, may godly courageous leaders rise up in His wisdom and power to lead us in displacing the criminal invaders from their seats and restore our constitutional republic.”
D.) Matt Davis, former spokesman for the Michigan Republican Party, who posed the question:
Is Armed Rebellion Now Justified?
“Implicit in Benjamin Franklin’s fabled response at the conclusion of the Constitutional Convention was a dire warning: That the Republic would one day devolve into tyranny unless we the people prevented it.
In 2008, we the people elected Barack Obama as president, and the 100-year progressive trek to tyranny begun in 1912 with Woodrow Wilson’s election was complete. It cannot be said too many times — for the purposes of emphasis and clarity — that the Constitution was possible ONLY AFTER the American Revolution; and that the war itself would not have been possible without the collective agreement, as so eloquently articulated in the Declaration of Independence, that the course of human events will sometimes justify one group of people to sever themselves from their oppressors.
In other words, America itself was possible only after its people summoned the will to risk their lives and their futures — as well as those of their children — for a freedom they did not enjoy but knew was their gift from God. Along with their desire to be free came their willingness to engaged in armed rebellion for their freedom.
If government can mandate that I pay for something I don’t want, then what is beyond its power? If the Supreme Court’s decision Thursday paves the way for unprecedented intrusion into personal decisions, then has the Republic all but ceased to exist? If so, then is armed rebellion today justified?
God willing, this oppression will be lifted and America free again before the first shot is fired.”
Or as they put it in the music-video version:
E.) U.S. Sen. Rand Paul, R-Kentucky, who clearly wasn’t paying attention when he was studying constitutional law back in ophthalmology school:
“Just because a couple people on the Supreme Court declare something to be ‘constitutional’ does not make it so. The whole thing remains unconstitutional.”
F.) Ben Shapiro, editor-at-large of Breitbart.com, who tweeted:

Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, we await your verdict.

maybe Obama should next try to reform the Education system.
YES, yes he should. I don’t think anything like that can happen until after the 2014 elections though. Republicans will not be wiped out of the House until then, maybe, as long as Democrats don’t get complacent again.
But you can see it already, Republicans are playing their hand on education and knowledge as well. Texas Republicans oppose “critical thinking” by name. Bobby Jindal has cut off all state funding for Louisiana libraries, and has cut both health care and education every single year from the state budget. I am sure there are similar moves by Republicans in control in the states. This is a battle that isn’t over, but it is a war they cannot win.

“You’ve already made it abundantly clear to me that you are one of those who cloaks his anti Semitism behind the anti Zionist facade. All anybody has to do is review your posts (cut and paste) up to an including supporting the murderous regime of Assad in Syria to further that cause.”
To date, no has proven that the Assad regime has murdered anyone. Those who were supposedly “murdered” were pro-Assad. Why were their hands bound and shot execution style? Does that sound like something the Syrian military would do?
To say that I am anti-Semitic and/or anti-Zionist is false. However, I do believe that the Israeli- and Jewish-led neo-cons are going to lead us into World War III.
Not only that, but Israel is nothing more than a criminal state from it’s beginning. They stole the land and murdered it’s inhabitants. It’s also the reason we will never have peace in the World.
We wouldn’t dream of apartheid or segregation here in the U.S., but it’s OK to corral the entire Palestinian population in the tiny enclave of Gaza.

And I promise if it’s repealed the “stop crying” crowd. Will see a need to begin crying.
All of America will see a need to start crying if that happens. Because many of them will lose the health insurance they have or were going to get, and health care costs will start skyrocketing again.
Obamacare SAVES LIVES. Obama is a GD HERO for getting this thing through. The Democrats are heroes for getting this thing through. And the Supreme Court justices are heroes for upholding it. They have SAVED LIVES.
But mark my words, the only thing, THE ONLY THING you’ll be able to do if you manage to grab both houses of congress and the Presidency is repeal the “tax” part of the law. Democrats will filibuster your ass on anything else you try to do that isn’t budget related on this. Count on it.
But I’m not worried about that either, because you have a snowball’s chance in hell of getting the Presidency and the Senate this year.

You are here: Home » Economy » 15 Reasons Why The Obamacare Decision Is A Disaster For America
June 29, 2012 9:32 am Comments (0) Author: The American Dream Share this Article You can almost always count on the Supreme Court to do the wrong thing. In fact, just about every major decision by the U.S. Supreme Court over the last 40 years has been bad for America. Many were hoping that the Supreme Court would strike down Obamacare, but the truth is that we all should have known better than to expect them to get something right. So now America is headed for a complete and total disaster as Obamacare is fully implemented over the next several years. Obamacare is going to absolutely shred the infrastructure of our medical system, it is going to send health insurance premiums soaring, it is going to dramatically expand the size and the scope of government, it is going to fundamentally alter the relationships between doctors and their patients and it is one of the largest tax increases in U.S. history. Not only that, it is also going to add about a trillion dollars to our national debt over the next decade. So no, the Obamacare decision is not good news. Obamacare was one of the worst pieces of legislation in American history, and now we are stuck with it.
It was a 5-4 decision to uphold Obamacare, and the swing vote was Chief Justice John Roberts who was appointed by George W. Bush.
After the vote today, it is hard to have any faith in the U.S. Supreme Court. Many constitutional conservatives kept voting for Republicans in the hope that the direction of the Supreme Court would change, but it hasn’t.
Prior to the Obama administration, Republicans controlled the White House for 20 out of 28 years. If Republicans were going to fundamentally change the nature of the Supreme Court, that was their opportunity.
But it didn’t happen.
Instead, what we have is a Supreme Court that is dominated by judges that have very little respect for the U.S. Constitution. When I was in law school I got to study the Supreme Court pretty closely and I quickly realized that most of the time they simply do whatever they want to do and they make up whatever reasons they can to justify their decisions.
That sounds really bad, but that is the truth.
And thanks to the Supreme Court, we are stuck with Obamacare – at least for now.
The following are 15 reasons why the Obamacare decision is a mind blowing disaster for America….
#1 According to the U.S. Supreme Court, the federal government has the power to force you to buy private goods and services. Now that this door has been opened, what else will we be forced to buy in the future?
#2 Obamacare is another step away from individual liberty and another step toward a “nanny state” where the government dominates our lives from the cradle to the grave.
#3 The IRS is now going to be given the task of hunting down and penalizing millions of Americans that do not have any health insurance. In fact, the Obama administration has given the IRS 500 million extra dollars ”outside the normal appropriations process” to help them enforce the provisions of Obamacare that they are in charge of overseeing.
#4 Obamacare imposes more than 20 new taxes on the American people. You can find a comprehensive list of Obamacare taxes right here. If you love paying higher taxes, then you are going to absolutely love Obamacare once it is fully implemented.
#5 In an attempt to “control costs” and “promote efficiency”, Obamacare limits the treatment options that doctors and patients can consider. This is likely to result in a decrease in life expectancy in the United States.
#6 Obamacare is going to impose nightmarish paperwork burdens on doctors, hospitals and the rest of the healthcare system. This is going to significantly increase our healthcare costs as a nation.
#7 Obamacare is going to send health insurance premiums soaring. This is especially true for younger Americans.
#8 Many small businesses are going to be absolutely crushed by the provisions in Obamacare that require them to provide expensive health insurance coverage for their employees. This is going to make them even less competitive with companies in other countries where businesses are not required to provide healthcare for their workers. This is also going to make it even less attractive for businesses to hire new employees.
#9 Obamacare is going to make the emerging doctor shortage in America a lot worse. Surveys have found that we could potentially see hundreds of thousands of doctors leave the medical profession because of Obamacare.
#10 Obamacare has already forced the cancellation of dozens of doctor-owned hospitals.
#11 Obamacare is going to result in a much bigger federal government. In order to fully implement all of the provisions of Obamacare, hordes of new government bureaucrats will be required.
#12 Thanks to Obamacare, you are going to have to wait much longer to see a doctor. Just look at what happened once Romneycare was implemented in Massachusetts….
In fact, we have already seen the start of this process in Massachusetts, where Mitt Romney’s health care reforms were nearly identical to President Obama’s. Romney’s reforms increased the demand for health care but did nothing to expand the supply of physicians. In fact, by cracking down on insurance premiums, Massachusetts pushed insurers to reduce their payments to providers, making it less worthwhile for doctors to expand their practices. As a result, the average wait to get an appointment with a doctor grew from 33 days to over 55 days.
#13 Obamacare contains all kinds of insidious little provisions that most people don’t even know about. The following is one example from the Alliance Defense Fund….
“Did you know that with ObamaCare you will have to pay for life-saving drugs, but life-ending drugs are free. One hundred percent free. If this plan were really about health care wouldn’t it be the other way around?”
#14 As if the U.S. government was not facing enough of a crisis with entitlement spending, it is being projected that Obamacare will add 16 million more Americans to the Medicaid rolls. You and I will be paying for all of this.
#15 The Congressional Budget Office estimates that Obamacare will add more than a trillion dollars to government spending over the next decade. Considering the fact that the U.S. government is already drowning in debt, how in the world can we afford this?

Anybody griping about the high temperatures in Atlanta should be in southern West Virginia right now. All the power and cable are out. Trees are down everywhere. There’s no gasoline to be had because the pumps won’t run without electricity. Even funerals are being postponed. My brother just called to say he may or may not make it the last 120 miles to his home because of the gas shortage.
And it was 97 degrees up there this afternoon, and air conditioners won’t run without electricity. I suggest we be grateful for what we have.

One thing is for sure. Obamacare ,which can only be defeated in November, has finally given new life to Republican voters. Here in the neighborhood we have “classes” of the homeless. Some are long time neighborhood fixtures who, yes, choose that. They’re NOT panhandlers. They keep an eye on the kids. Ever so often, one will come by and tell me (knowing I work at the school), that there’s a stranger in the neighborhood and we need to keep our eyes open. Since they know me to be a softie, they’ll come by and tell me that they’ve got a “special case” that needs help, and could I spare a few bucks. Community self-reliance.

“It is a tax” is a much weaker argument than “it is unconstitutional.” You folks escalated the argument too quickly, and now you want to try to reclaim it all. Sorry, but you got all the support for repeal you’re ever going to get when you were convincing people it was unconstitutional. Now that they know it’s not, and they know it’s a tax, you’re not going to see a massive jump in numbers for repeal. Especially once all those ads that come out explaining what the law actually does come out, as well as all those people who get a rebate check this year with “The Affordable Care Act” written into the letter with the enclosed check.

josef: I say stuff like that with full knowledge that it doesn’t matter what i say on the subject. Bottom line is, they’re gonna vote Romney. He could be an atheist, or a pagan. They’d STILL vote for him because he got the nomination and has an R after his name. We saw in 2010 what Democrats do when they feel discouraged. And we see in every election that Republican voters are reliable as a swiss clock.

This healthcare thing isn’t going to go away easy, is it? It doesn’t matter. If the economy is still in the toilet around election time, Obama will have a very tough time.
I think the economy is only going to get worse.

I just don’t agree with stooping to their level.
Now, taking on the flip-flopping so many have done? That to me is fair game. The rah-rah the fundamentalists went on for the how-many-times-married, made-b*stards-of-his-own-kids papist? THAT was hilarious…
I just think that when we call them out, we do it without opening ourselves up to the same charge…

You have to stoop to their level to win the election.
Then you govern for all the people instead of just the wealthy to prove you are better than them.

josef: Romney’s new strategy seems to be just say he’ll do everything Obama has done already and propose everything Obama has proposed, while pretending that Obama hasn’t done or proposed any of that. Personally I think he’s better off flip flopping. If he keeps talking about doing things for people and giving them a “fair shot” he’s more likely to lose Republican votes.

You’re a good man, Josef. There have always been the schoolyard lurkers, at least there were when I was a kid, but you’d be surprised that the kids knew better than the adults who they were and what to do about them.
But in this day and age, there’s that other class that some of us are only a paycheck or two away from becoming one of ourselves. And a woman? I still can’t shake that image from my head, and I don’t even know who or where she is.
P.S. I give to the Salvation Army and UNICEF. It’s not a lot but it’s something. I think an answer is not a few people doing a lot, but a lot of people doing what little bit they can, at least that’s what I keep telling myself.

Lose Republican votes?
Only if they stay at home on election day.
Who else would they vote for?
That why they’re hoping that this whole “awoke a sleeping giant” meme grows legs.

I think the most outrageous response is the white house still denying it’s a tax after the only way it was upheld is because it’s a tax
First a “tax” is something that everyone has to pay. Like, a TAX on all clothing. Everyone buys clothes, sooner or later, so everyone pays a tax.
Secondly what Obamacar imposes is a PENALTY. A penalty by definition is:
1. a punishment imposed or incurred for a violation of law or rule.
2. a loss, forfeiture, suffering, or the like, to which one subjects oneself by nonfulfillment of some obligation.
3. something that is forfeited, as a sum of money.
4. consequence or disadvantage attached to any action, condition, etc.
It’s best to actually KNOW what you’re talking about before you start “talking”. Just saying………

Oh and the PENALTY is for the people who don’t have insurance. Those that DO have insurance do not incur a PENALTY.
That’s the difference between a PENALTY and a TAX.

I do have a new idea for a new party.
Take all the ideas that have been tried in governments in the world and propose the ones that actually worked to help the the people. No agenda, no bribes or lobbyists, just ideas that work.
Call it , the works party.

the things you stated plus
wall street. prior to housing
collapse unemployment
was around 5%. Dow
12-15000 which dropped
but has recovered. gas
was major consumer price
problem and seems under
control. 8% unemployment
is a fact we will have to
live with for the near future.
ACA eases the pain with
medicaid. thus the economy
is good for some fair for
others. if everything stays
the same or gets a little
better the prez will win.
a drastic downward shift
could change this but
that’s unlikely.
