The most over-the-top response to ObamaCare ruling

What's your favorite reaction to Thursday's Supreme Court ruling on ObamaCare?

I’m trying to decide which right-wing reaction to Thursday’s Supreme Court ruling on ObamaCare is my favorite, and I just can’t settle on one winner. So maybe you could help me.

Here are your options:

beck.coward

A. An angry Glenn Beck — but I repeat myself — referring to Chief Justice John Roberts as “the Dread Pirate Roberts” and announcing that his website would be selling T-shirts featuring Roberts’ picture and the caption “Coward,” all for just $30.

B.) U.S. Rep. Jean Schmidt, R-Ohio, celebrating after hearing initial and incorrect reports that the Supreme Court had struck down the mandate:

C.) The statement put out by Roy Nicholson, chairman of the Mississippi Tea Party, who went all Jefferson Davis on us:

“All of us are now simply chattel of the government to be used and ordered about as they choose. The history books will mark this date as the day our constitutional republic was killed. It will now rest with We The People to decide if it will be resurrected or left to rot in the shallow grave dug for it.

Where is the weeping and wailing? Where is the anger and outrage? Do the people of the country realize what has just been stolen from them? Do the people of the world recognize that the shadow of darkness is now fallen upon them as well and that there remains no defender of their feeble freedoms? The all-out oppression of all people has begun.

Those “occupiers” now controlling the three federal branches of government have joined together in rejecting all Constitutional restraint and in doing so they have severely violated their oaths to support and defend the Constitution of the United States. Together they now stand as blatant usurpers of power and have reduced our constitutional republic, along with all of its freedoms, to nothing more than a dictatorial junta. Becoming a banana republic is next.

When a gang of criminals subvert legitimate government offices and seize all power to themselves without the real consent of the governed their every act and edict is of itself illegal and is outside the bounds of the Rule of Law. In such cases submission is treason. Treason against the Constitution and the valid legitimate government of the nation to which we have pledged our allegiance for years. To resist by all means that are right in the eyes of God is not rebellion or insurrection, it is patriotic resistance to invasion.

May all of us fall on our faces before the Heavenly Judge, repent of our sins, and humbly cry out to Him for mercy on our country. And, may godly courageous leaders rise up in His wisdom and power to lead us in displacing the criminal invaders from their seats and restore our constitutional republic.”

D.) Matt Davis, former spokesman for the Michigan Republican Party, who posed the question:

Is Armed Rebellion Now Justified?

“Implicit in Benjamin Franklin’s fabled response at the conclusion of the Constitutional Convention was a dire warning: That the Republic would one day devolve into tyranny unless we the people prevented it.

In 2008, we the people elected Barack Obama as president, and the 100-year progressive trek to tyranny begun in 1912 with Woodrow Wilson’s election was complete. It cannot be said too many times — for the purposes of emphasis and clarity — that the Constitution was possible ONLY AFTER the American Revolution; and that the war itself would not have been possible without the collective agreement, as so eloquently articulated in the Declaration of Independence, that the course of human events will sometimes justify one group of people to sever themselves from their oppressors.

In other words, America itself was possible only after its people summoned the will to risk their lives and their futures — as well as those of their children — for a freedom they did not enjoy but knew was their gift from God. Along with their desire to be free came their willingness to engaged in armed rebellion for their freedom.

If government can mandate that I pay for something I don’t want, then what is beyond its power? If the Supreme Court’s decision Thursday paves the way for unprecedented intrusion into personal decisions, then has the Republic all but ceased to exist? If so, then is armed rebellion today justified?

God willing, this oppression will be lifted and America free again before the first shot is fired.”

Or as they put it in the music-video version:

E.) U.S. Sen. Rand Paul, R-Kentucky, who clearly wasn’t paying attention when he was studying constitutional law back in ophthalmology school:

“Just because a couple people on the Supreme Court declare something to be ‘constitutional’ does not make it so. The whole thing remains unconstitutional.”

F.) Ben Shapiro, editor-at-large of Breitbart.com, who tweeted:

why do you think the insurance companies went along with Obamacare? Because Obama protected the profits of those big corporations. Quit drinking the Republicans only look out for the big corporations Kool-Aid. Your talking points are worn out.

I hate that whole “kool-aid” phrase. I also hate it when people state stuff as though it’s completely factual when it’s entirely wrong…

http://influencealley.nationaljournal.com/2012/06/exclusive-ahip-gave-more-than.php

The nation’s leading health insurance industry group gave more than $100 million to help fuel the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s 2009 and 2010 efforts to defeat President Obama’s signature health care reform law, National Journal’s Influence Alley has learned.

During the final push to kill the bill before its March 2010 passage, America’s Health Insurance Plans gave the chamber $16.2 million. With the $86.2 million the insurers funneled to the business lobbying powerhouse in 2009, AHIP sent the chamber a total of $102.4 million during the health care reform debate, a number that has not been reported before now.

The backchannel spending allowed insurers to publicly stake out a pro-reform position while privately funding the leading anti-reform lobbying group in Washington. The chamber spent tens of millions of dollars bankrolling efforts to kill health care reform.

The behind-the-scenes transfers were particularly hard to track because the law does not require groups to publicly disclose where they are sending the money or who they are receiving it from.

If there’s ever a need for transparency laws, that should spring up on the radar of many Americans, regardless of political leanings. This funding was known well ahead of time too.

From 2010:

Health insurers last year gave the U.S. Chamber of Commerce $86.2 million that was used to oppose the health-care overhaul law, according to tax records and people familiar with the donation.

The insurance lobby, whose members include Minnetonka, Minnesota-based UnitedHealth Group Inc. and Cigna Corp. of Philadelphia, gave the money to the Chamber in 2009 as Democrats increased criticism of the industry, according to a person who requested anonymity because laws don’t require identifying funding sources. The Chamber got the money from the America’s Health Insurance Plans as the industry urged Congress to drop a plan to create a competing government-run insurance plan…

The spending on the Chamber exceeded the insurer group’s entire budget from a year earlier and accounted for 40 percent of the Chamber’s $214.6 million in 2009 expenditures. The spending reflects the insurers’ attempts to influence the bill, which the Congressional Budget Office estimates will provide coverage to 32 million previously uninsured Americans, after Democrats in Congress and the White House put more focus on regulation of the insurance industry.

As others have frequently said, we have the best government that money can buy.

I don’t quite believe that. I think politicians are doing what’s necessary to maintain their power. By maintaining their power, they are able to generate and protect their wealth. If they did not need those vast sums of money to run campaigns, they would not have to prostitute themselves to companies and wealthy johns. Instead, if they only had to worry about the voters, they would have to do what it takes to appeal to them, which is govern with common damn sense.

For politicians, it’s not necessarily that they’re acting on behalf of corporations. I see them as acting on behalf of corporations because they need the money to run campaigns that keep them in power. In the end, I think it’s all about the power.

The story of why Bush was so bad at the end of his term.
Don’t just skim over this, it’s not very long, read it slowly and let it sink in. If in doubt, check it out!!!
The day the democrats took over was not January 22nd 2009, it was actually January 3rd 2007 the day the Democrats took over the House of Representatives and the Senate, at the very start of the 110th Congress. The Democrat Party controlled a majority in both chambers for the first time since the end of the 103rd Congress in 1995.
For those who are listening to the liberals propagating the fallacy that everything is “Bush’s Fault”, think about this:
January 3rd, 2007 was the day the Democrats took over the Senate and the Congress. At the time:

The DOW Jones closed at 12,621.77
The GDP for the previous quarter was 3.5%
The Unemployment rate was 4.6%

George Bush’s Economic policies SET A RECORD of 52 STRAIGHT MONTHS of JOB GROWTH
Remember the day…
January 3rd, 2007 was the day that Barney Frank took over the House Financial Services Committee and Chris Dodd took over the Senate Banking Committee.

The economic meltdown that happened 15 months later was in what part of the economy?
BANKING AND FINANCIAL SERVICES!

Unemployment… to this CRISIS by (among MANY other things) dumping 5-6 TRILLION Dollars of toxic loans on the economy from YOUR Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac FIASCOES!

Bush asked Congress 17 TIMES to stop Fannie & Freddie – starting in 2001 because it was financially risky for the US economy.

And who took the THIRD highest pay-off from Fannie Mae AND Freddie Mac? OBAMA
And who fought against reform of Fannie and Freddie?
OBAMA and the Democrat Congress

So when someone tries to blame Bush..

REMEMBER JANUARY 3rd, 2007…. THE DAY THE DEMOCRATS TOOK OVER!”

Budgets do not come from the White House. They come from Congress and the party that controlled Congress since January 2007 is the Democrat Party.

Furthermore, the Democrats controlled the budget process for 2008 & 2009 as well as 2010 &2011.
In that first year, they had to contend with George Bush, which caused them to compromise on spending, when Bush somewhat belatedly got tough on spending increases.

For 2009 though, Nancy Pelosi & Harry Reid bypassed George Bush entirely, passing continuing resolutions to keep government running until Barack Obama could take office. At that time, they passed a massive omnibus spending bill to complete the 2009 budgets.

And where was Barack Obama during this time? He was a member of that very Congress that passed all of these massive spending bills, and he signed the omnibus bill as President to complete 2009.

If the Democrats inherited any deficit, it was the 2007 deficit, the last of the Republican budgets. That deficit was the lowest in five years, and the fourth straight decline in deficit spending. After that, Democrats in Congress took control of spending, and that includes Barack Obama, who voted for the budgets.

If Obama inherited anything, he inherited it from himself. In a nutshell, what Obama is saying is I inherited a deficit that I voted for and then I voted to expand that deficit four-fold since January 20th.

There is no way this will be widely publicized, unless each of us sends it on!

The debate about healthcare is about the administration of the system, not about the actual healthcare. I’m in my late 60s, and I’ve been paying other people’s cost of healthcare my whole life. I would estimate that I’ve paid $250-300,000 in health insurance premiums during my career. The most expensive line item is Administrative costs, which are estimated to be 15-20% of the premiums. The cost of having 3 children, 4 broken arms for the boys, regular physicals before school, and inocculations was less than the administrative cost.
Now, I’m surrounded by a bunch of fat, old people who don’t take care of themselves. But, since I’d rather be healthy, I guess I shouldn’t begrudge the money that was spent on people with more problems. Although, I am a little bitter that Cheney got a new heart, and I would not qualify because of age.
When the debate turns to actual healthcare and not the administrative department, we might accomplish something.

I’m among those conservatives who think that Roberts has given the Romney campaign and Republicans a huge gift in this election year. We don’t know his real motive but you can bet the AHA will be torn apart ten different ways from Sunday and tied to the economy between now and November. That will force the Obama campaign into defensive ( they call it an opportunity to sell it, while most think good luck with that) mode when their strategy was to be on offense against Romney as a diversion from Obama’s record.

Bush asked Congress 17 TIMES to stop Fannie & Freddie – starting in 2001 because it was financially risky for the US economy.

Too funny!

But my attitude is, if somebody can’t find work and they want to work, we’ve got to continue to work on expanding the job base. And part of economic security is owning your own home. (Applause.) Part of being a secure America is to encourage homeownership. So somebody can say, this is my home, welcome to my home.

Now, we’ve got a problem here in America that we have to address. Too many American families, too many minorities do not own a home. There is a home ownership gap in America. The difference between Anglo America and African American and Hispanic home ownership is too big. (Applause.) And we’ve got to focus the attention on this nation to address this

[...]

And let me talk about some of the progress which we have made to date, as an example for others to follow. First of all, government sponsored corporations that help create our mortgage system — I introduced two of the leaders here today — they call those people Fannie May and Freddie Mac, as well as the federal home loan banks, will increase their commitment to minority markets by more than $440 billion. (Applause.) I want to thank Leland and Franklin for that commitment. It’s a commitment that conforms to their charters, as well, and also conforms to their hearts.

[...]

Fannie Mae will establish 100 partnerships with faith-based organizations that will provide home buyer education and help increase homeownership for their congregations. I love the partnership.

And it gives me GREAT SATISFACTION to see you suddenly revert to “It’s a TAX!” To that last argument, here’s your moment of zen:

A few of those are sorta funny – there’s no denying that. Now, try to imagine the reactions from those on the left had the decision gone the other way. It doesn’t take too much imagination ….

No del.

Will willard repeal willardcare or keep some parts of it?

Which position is it?

I think willard is confused and not ready for prime time.

I think he is weak on foreign policy.

I think he is a job killer.

I think he would be another disaster like w.

“Nor has Obama. What does that tell you?”

That tells me that Republicans think the healthcare issue is way more important to the voters than the voters do. As much as Republicans try to talk themselves into believing they have momentum its just not happening. Healthcare, gas prices, Fast and Furious, Arizona immigration, Obama supporting gay marriage, whatever the latest hysterical issue Republicans come up with have failed to sway most voters, polling continues to slightly favor Obama.

Listening to Republicans you would think Romney has a 30 point lead.

Gallup says 46 percent back the Court decision; 46 percent oppose it. Just 6 percent say health care is top issue for the country; just 31 percent say they would repeal the law entirely.

That is not what Republicans see when reading those poll results. They see…

Agree with the decision- .05%
Disagree with the decision- 8,312%

There is indeed treasonous talk about in the land. This is what we get when we pander to the Tea Party types. They are just talking now but unless squashed there are many followers of this movement will graduate to treasonous actions. All responsible Americans, be they Republicans, Democrats, Independents, white, black, purple or green should unite to put these sick minds back in their holes. American democracy thrives on civil discourse and compromise, not on radical extremism of any stripe. These nuts are close to presenting a clear and present danger.

Casino billionaire Sheldon Adelson is making another huge campaign contribution aimed at electing Republicans and voting President Barack Obama out of office.

He’s willing to put up $100 million….shouldn’t he get naming rights……such as:
USA is now United States of Adelson,
or at least: Adelson-Romney 2012

Over the last 3 or so years there has been repeated whinning here by Moonbats upset with Senate rules requiring the 60 votes. Kyle’s blog piece, tommorow’s column I think, points out that since Obamacare is officially a tax the Reconcilliation process applies and a simple majority is all that is needed.

Hopes to strike down Obamacare moves to the Nov elections where I am confident Obama will be defeated. And, even if Republicans don’t have 60 Senate votes we will hopefully have the majority.

It will be sweet when Obamacare is repealed in the Senate with less than 60 votes presenting an opportunity for the Moonbats to do the flop on the 60 vote thing. Sorta like their flop on Roberts. I’m not saying all, but there are too many Moonbats whose principles are tied more to outcome than character.

The presstitute American press pretends that an evil Syrian government is murdering innocent citizens who only want democracy and that if the UN won’t intervene militarily, the US must in order to save human rights. Russia and China are vilified by US functionaries for opposing any pretext for a NATO invasion of Syria.

The facts, of course, are different from those presented by the presstitute American media and members of the US government. The Syrian “rebels” are well armed with military weapons. The “rebels” are battling the Syrian army. The rebels massacre civilians and report to their media whores in the West that the deed was done by the Syrian government, and the Western presstitutes spread the propaganda.

Someone is arming the “rebels” as obviously the weapons can’t be purchased in local Syrian markets. Most intelligent people believe the weapons are coming from the US or from US surrogates.

So, Washington has started a civil war in Syria, as it did in Libya, but this time the gullible Russians and Chinese have caught on and have refused to permit a UN resolution like the one the West exploited against Gaddafi.

To get around this roadblock, fish out an ancient Phantom fighter jet from the 1960s Vietnam war era and have Turkey fly it into Syria. The Syrians will shoot it down, and then Turkey can appeal to its NATO allies to come to its aid against Syria. Denied the UN option, Washington can invoke its obligation under the NATO treaty, and go to war in defense of a NATO member against a demonized Syria.

The neoconservative lie behind Washington’s wars of hegemony is that the US is bringing democracy to the invaded and bombed countries. To paraphrase Mao, “democracy comes out of the barrel of a gun.” However, the Arab Spring has come up short on democracy, as have Iraq and Afghanistan, two countries “liberated” by US democratic invasions.

Thank God! for Paul Craig Roberts! Keep on telling it, Paul!

The truth is so hard to find these days!
