Tonight, travelin’ music from a true professional
Ladies and gentlemen, this evening’s guest host for Travelin’ Music is certainly well-qualified for the task, given the tens of thousands of miles he travels each year drivin’ that heavily laden beer truck over the byways, highways and backroads of Georgia, all just to keep our whistles wetted. He is a pillar upon which Western Civilization has come to depend, such as it is. Even now, I suspect, he’s making delivery after delivery on a busy Friday afternoon, stocking up the stores and bars before high-tailing it back to the missus at Simpson’s Trailer Park for supper.
So to Redneck Convert, SAAAAAH-loot!:
Well, Mr. Bookman, I ain’t much for writing, but I’d be mighty pleased if you could devote a Friday night to the music of Merle Haggard. We all know old Merle’s a fine singer, but he’s also about the best beer salesman we got. And it ain’t just a matter of “Tonight the Bottle Let Me Down.” Count on it—when Merle shows up in Atlanta in August at that Conservatory or whatever fancy name they use, beer sales will shoot thru the roof. I’ll be busier than a one-armed paper hanger.
Anyhow, I don’t ask for much, and you know I don’t go out of my way to rile josef up. For some reason he takes offense when I even show up on your blog. I don’t call him names, but he sure tags me with one. But I’d be much obliged if you could play this Haggard song, which more or less says what alot of us Conservatives think about what’s going on today. Got to thinking about this when it was revealed earlier this week that Carrie Underwood publicly supported marriage equality, and we were speculating as to whether it might hurt her career. I wondered if Garth Brooks’ career was harmed by what he’d sung quite a few years ago, which seems to offer very similar sentiments.
Anyway, I think it’s a nice tune in its own right, and the words… well, if you won’t listen here they are.

Well, early polling data reveals that most Americans are very much not in favor of BHO’s immigration “order”, by a margin of 56-44% against it.
In true Democratic racist plantation owner mentality and style, Barack Hussein Obama has assumed that now all Latinos will mindlessly and stupidly vote democrat based upon this order, just as the blacks do for him based upon skin tone only. The racist implication is, well, staggering.
He assumes, as did LBJ 50+ years ago, that they will fall in line just as the blacks did during his administrations crafting of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. As most of us know, LBJ was reported to have said: “I’ll have these ni**ers voting democrat for the next 200 years.” when the act was being constructed.
Hussein’s new and improved racist revision to that statement must be something along the lines of “I’ll have these wetbacks voting democrat for the next 200 years.”
Never mind his record.

Never mind that in 2008 he said he couldn’t do what he just did yesterday because it was against the law.
Never mind something else either: Latinos will soon overtake blacks as the dominant voting minority in this country, and this order, if it stands, only hastens the timeline of this takeover.

The auto-racist machine of the Democrat Party is in high campaign mode now, feverishly pumping Holder to squash Florida’s attempt to weed out illegally registered and/or dead voters, and simultaneously preparing to register an additional 800,000 illegal voters for November’s election.

Great post, but LBJ didn’t draft the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Republicans (including Richard Nixon) drafted the second voting rights act in 1957. The first was also drafted by Republicans in 1871 but was thrown out by a Democratic (big surprise) Congress.
There were several attempts at watering down the act but the Republicans wouldn’t compromise on human rights and in frustration, LBJ wanted to put it up for a vote. LBJ, a long segregationist was sure that the democrats would filibuster which they did, but the Republicans wouldn’t give in and the media began to hit hard at the Democrats leading the filibuster.

One of the bigger lies written here lately.
In an interview included in a 1970 New York Times article, Nixon political strategist Kevin Phillips touched on its essence: From now on, the Republicans are never going to get more than 10 to 20 percent of the Negro vote and they don’t need any more than that… but Republicans would be shortsighted if they weakened enforcement of the Voting Rights Act. The more Negroes who register as Democrats in the South, the sooner the Negrophobe whites will quit the Democrats and become Republicans. That’s where the votes are. Without that prodding from the blacks, the whites will backslide into their old comfortable arrangement with the local Democrats.
And in 2005…
It was called “the southern strategy,” started under Richard M. Nixon in 1968, and described Republican efforts to use race as a wedge issue — on matters such as desegregation and busing — to appeal to white southern voters.
Ken Mehlman, the Republican National Committee chairman, this morning will tell the NAACP national convention in Milwaukee that it was “wrong.”
“By the ’70s and into the ’80s and ’90s, the Democratic Party solidified its gains in the African American community, and we Republicans did not effectively reach out,” Mehlman says in his prepared text. “Some Republicans gave up on winning the African American vote, looking the other way or trying to benefit politically from racial polarization. I am here today as the Republican chairman to tell you we were wrong.”
