Billionaire Adelson: ‘Limitless’ $$$ for Romney

From Forbes:

“Forbes has confirmed that billionaire Sheldon Adelson, along with his wife Miriam, has donated $10 million to the leading Super PAC supporting presumptive Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney -– and that’s just the tip of the iceberg. A well-placed source in the Adelson camp with direct knowledge of the casino billionaire’s thinking says that further donations will be “limitless.”

Adelson, who has built Las Vegas Sands into an global casino empire, will do “whatever it takes” to defeat Obama, this source says. And given that Adelson is worth $24.9 billion –- and told Forbes in a recent rare interview about his political giving that he had been willing to donate as much as $100 million to his initial presidential preference, Newt Gingrich –- that “limitless” description telegraphs potential nine-digit support of Romney.”

This is the world wrought by the naivete and partisanship of the Roberts court.

So if there are so many rich DEMOCRATS, why cant they fund their own giveaways. Have a dinner at Jessica’s house or the many other hollywood liberals. Hey Jay, just curious why you don’t mention George Soros, a big time contributor to Obama’s re-election fund? Why not talk about Obama’s “little” party last night in New York hosted by Hollywood Elite Sarah Jessica Parker and Anna Wintour? Why no mention of his stay at the five star Plaza hotel? Why didn’t you write about how Obama has had more fundraising events than the last 6 presidents combined? Or about how the media covers up his gaffes or makes excuses for them (that is pretty priceless)? Between unions, Soros and Hollywood I don’t think you have to worry too much about Adelson.

-All the numbers have been trending poorly for 5 years (keyword ALL)
-This is a discussion (maybe in some alternate reality view of a discussion being something where someone can just claim whatever they want and everyone else is just supposed to accept it)
-”Soros is always the spooky guy pulling the strings of the democrats”
-”[Bush] should have done like Obama and burned the suspects alive, often with their families.”
-massive health care costs to small businesses
-massive environmental regulations

Democrats buy votes from the poor by spending the tax payer’s money, not their own. they can buy all the votes they want as long as the people remain poor.

Once the poor people start achieving, that takes power from some very powerful people. They can no longer buy the votes. So the system is sort of like the old roach motels. You can check in but you can’t check out. (Or Hotel California)

-Obama is over-regulating the private sector
-Obama is attacking the private sector
-All the numbers have been trending poorly for 5 years (keyword ALL)
-”Soros is always the spooky guy pulling the strings of the democrats”
-”[Bush] should have done like Obama and burned the suspects alive, often with their families.”
-massive health care costs to small businesses

In fact, except for taking out your contention that a discussion is to just throw out claims as truth, all of that is off the wall. But the fact that you think those statements are perfectly reasonable sure is telling.

Well, Happy Friday everybody. I see Bookman ain’t got around to posting something new. Must be sleeping one off after chugging some of the product I haul.

Little Nathan Zell George let it slip that him and the missus are taking me to Ryans Sunday for a suprize Fathers Day lunch. I thought I’d let you all know so you won’t show up and risk losing a finger or hand while the missus is chowing down.

Anyhow, it’s good to see everybody’s the same—cussin’ and rippin’ and slammin’, etc. I’m busier than a one-armed paper hanger getting you ready to swap weird music, so I’ll check in later.

Better Off? No.

So politicians help the poor with their own money?

Couls you explain why you made such a bone headed statement?

Its slow, let’s do some math.
Sheldon is a betting man.
The magic number is 8.3 (trust me, i’m an accountant)
He is bargaining against the Buffett rule.
Here we go –
Sheldon’s annual income – approx $1 Billion/yr
Sheldon’s tax on dat – $150mil
Sheldons tax on dat w/ Buffett Rule – $300mil
That’s a tax savings of $150mil/yr X 8 years = $1.2billion
$100million donation / $1.2 billion = 0.083 x 100 = 8.3% (told you)
translate: if Rmoney has an 8.3% chance of winning,
then its a good bet. Does he?
I don’t think so, but Sheldon does.
If you con poo flingers think Rmoney has a 8.3% chance,
you should send him a million bucks too heheh.

Better Off — “You take every single statement and say “Prove It”, no matter whether proof is needed.”

You’re new here, Meat, so I’ll bring you up to speed.

A lot of poster here — on both sides — are going to demand that you prove your claims from time to time. So either pony up the evidence, or else grow a thicker skin (and expect that your word isn’t going to be accepted by very many posters), or else take a hike to somewhere else where the burden of proof for conservative claims is lower.

“I have stated nothing off the wall or controversial to anyone who is in any way up on national politics.”

Of course you have. You just claimed that the Democrats are engaging in a systematic and ongoign Federal felony by conducting an organized vote-buying scheme. That’s QUITE controversial and off the wall.

Better Off. No? – “You want others to do the work for you. ”

Actually no. If you put forward a hypothesis, it is your reponsibility to prove the theory is true. Not the other way around.

Better Off — “I understand your point: You want others to do the work for you. Teach thyself.”

If you make the claims, it’s your job to support them with evidence. This is how it works in school and in court.

Dang, depending on how you view such things, I either have the world’s best sense of timing, or the world’s worst.
