“Forbes has confirmed that billionaire Sheldon Adelson, along with his wife Miriam, has donated $10 million to the leading Super PAC supporting presumptive Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney -– and that’s just the tip of the iceberg. A well-placed source in the Adelson camp with direct knowledge of the casino billionaire’s thinking says that further donations will be “limitless.”
Adelson, who has built Las Vegas Sands into an global casino empire, will do “whatever it takes” to defeat Obama, this source says. And given that Adelson is worth $24.9 billion –- and told Forbes in a recent rare interview about his political giving that he had been willing to donate as much as $100 million to his initial presidential preference, Newt Gingrich –- that “limitless” description telegraphs potential nine-digit support of Romney.”
This is the world wrought by the naivete and partisanship of the Roberts court.

My bottom line — if you don’t have the right to vote, then you shouldn’t have the right to engage in any political activity whatsoever.

So do wh*res, but I’m not going to look to them (or indeed any of the people you listed) for advice on who I should vote for.

Obama’s much touted “Major Speech” today on the economy has even some of his supporters in the liberal press scratching their heads and asking what the hell is going on? Is this the same man that ran in 2008? Obama seems to have run out of gas and he seems to have no energy, no plan, no nothing. Axlerod built Obama’s entire 2012 campaign on attacks and Chicago style politics and that isn’t working out for him at all. In fact it makes Obama look even more pitiful. Without any record of success (other than what our intelligence and the Navy Seals did with Bin Laden) Obama has nothing to run on. I guess he can always go to his deck of cards and order another drone attack and ignore the “collateral” damage but that won’t help him either. America is now numb to these daily leaks from the Whitehouse about another assasination in the Mideast and they pay no attention to them. Of course if Bush would have done them the press would have condemned him as a murderer.
What is apparent is Obama is finally being exposed as the amateur and charlatan he always was but the press and his supporters didn’t have the nerve to admit it. Most still don’t. Home foreclosures and applications for jobless benefits rose again today. Obama is a misery president just as Carter was and his hand chosen advisors have served him terribly in his presidency. They have advised him to not negotiate and that is about to become his undoing.
Have to go. It is time to make another contribution to a conservative Super-Pac for Romney.

If I wanted to direct it to you, I would have.
I was noting a connection: “if it isn’t specifically prohibited by law, I can do it.” Republicans want to get rid of regulations, which oftentimes keep companies from doing things that could be harmful to others. So if there’s no regulation, there’s nothing to keep them from doing what they want to do, so they will go head and do it. Because it’s not illegal.
Now do you understand?

It appears that Adelson’s loyalties to the United States of America are being brought into question by the use of the term “country of choice.”
I didn’t mean to imply he has greater loyalty to Israel over the U.S., but I can see how my statement was unclear. When I said “country of choice” it was because Israel would indeed be a country of choice; his “choice” of the US is a default assumption like it is for any other citizen.
But Mr. Adelson is not shy about voicing his opinions on foreign policy in the region, and the impression of a single person buying close access to the president does no one any favors.

Being an unbending, strict socialist ideologue, Bozo has sealed his fate. He has no wiggle room. The House has submitted 30 jobs bills and when they get to the Senate, they go no further. The electorate does not want to live in an Obama America and they have made that very clear. They do not like his Health Care bill, they do not like the debt that he has amassed, and most of all, they just don’t trust this clown. With his rigidity, there leaves no room for compromise. Compromise, to Bozo is a waste of time, especially for someone who had on day one, a vision of America much different than even those who voted for him thought was on the radar screen. When he said he wanted to essentially change America, most of those who voted or him really didn’t know what he meant. Over the last 3 years, he has made it painfully clear what he had in mind. And most of those guilt ridden white liberals who cheered this empty suit in Lincoln Park in Chicago thought that they were doing this country such a favor by putting this social experiment in government housing. It is amazing how things change in three years.

“What was your point with that question?”
Couple of points. Republicans and those on this blog have not – not – stated any criteria for rescinding regulations.
Second point: in fact, just this week, Candidate Romney stated he would rescind all – as in ‘every one’ – regulations implemented during the Obama Administration.
Looks like you’re at odds with the candidate, which is not a bad thing.
Also looks like Republicans are willing to let people die in the name of ideology, which is not a good thing.

Hellman’s is second choice, Kraft first. Mold on a platter, sprinkle with paprika, garnish with wedged tomatoes around the molded mound, add some whole black and green olives in little piles on the four sides, sprinkle some salad olives and sliced black olives, do a flourette of thinly wedged tomatoes on the top, then just before serving sprinkle with bacon bits (the ones you fried, not that dreck from the store)…

Naivete?
Not hardly, it was by design.
Interesting–I had just listened yesterday to an interview with Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (available here) where he’d expressed something similar to Jay, but went on at some length. Said that the Roberts court exposes one weakness in having judges who’ve never really been part of of America’s political process.
I’ve always thought that electing judges was a stupid, stupid thing, but that would be one argument in favor of it. (And yes, I know in some states they do elect judges, but I don’t believe that was the case in any of our SCOTUSers. Someone correct me if I’m wrong, please.)
Furthermore Whitehouse picked up on an angle of Citizens United and the superPAC horror it’s unleashed that I’d never really considered, but per the Senator, anyone closely connected to electioneering would have grasped immediately–the problem isn’t so much in what people can DO with the many millions of dollars in negative ads that they run against candidates. It’s what they can THREATEN to do.
In other words, if you’re Joe Billionaire, you simply have your lobbyist go and tell Congressman Smith that you’re really not happy with the Congressman’s stance on a particular bill, and that you’ve got five million bucks lined up to sponsor an ad by Americans for Peace and Puppies that will call Smith some kind of child-molesting murderer so long as you remain unhappy.
This is a scenario rarely considered, and I suspect it’s already been played out hundreds of times on the Hill, as well as in state legislatures across the fruited plain. What a country. What a mess.

‘course, that happens a lot with the Old Testament.
And I’ve a good friend down the street who’s Jewish. Who converted to the LDS church about six years ago. Spoke to her a few days ago. Were talking about the impact on her relations with her family and I asked her the biggest change. She said accepting Jesus as Messiah.
We were discussing Dead Sea Scrolls. I have some wonderful discussions with her.

Oh, I know. I’m just fascinated by how one group writes something, another group follows from it and says ‘you may have had that for centuries but this is the interpretation that really existed and you’ve just missed the point of it all.”
Not bashing anyone, just find it interesting.

The meaning of that, I fear, is often misinterpreted. The Hebrew Ehy-h-Asher-Ehy-h is the present tense of the verb “to be” which is not used in the spoken-written language (the same as in many languages, Russian, Hungarian, most American Indian languages, and contextually Southern English). The significance is that in the context that you mention the PAST tense is used as a verb, while the name remains in the present. This indicates, not that Jesus was, but that long before we got mired down in the Abrahamic tradition, the Et-rnal was there and all of us are of H-s creation and equal in H-s eyes.

I’ve a son-in-law who’s a member of the Church of God. They observe Passover, most of the festivals, don’t celebrate Christmas, don’t eat pork. In their belief system the fulfillment of the Law means you continue to keep it.
He really didn’t like discussing Acts 10 and Galatians 2.
We leave it alone.

Jon Stewart is tearing Obama’s ass up tonight about exactly the same thing I was talking about earlier and that is Obama’s kill list and his capitalizing on it. Stewart is also skewering him on fundraising and selling out to big business. Jon Stewart? Obama is in trouble.

Actually, Obama has secretly raised one trillion dollars so far for his campaign. Oops! I wasn’t supposed to let that slip. Not that there’s anything to worry about given how cheap those billionaire backers of Mitten’s are. They squirm and moan after giving a measly 10 million. White Houses don’t come cheap, cons. Let’s see some real money from ya.

That aint gonna happen. Besides it aint so bad seeing Cynthia in the news here and there. Her very name evokes laughter and her antics some much needed comic relief. The last I saw of her she was palling around with Akhmahateijad and talking about human rights- Ironical it is.

Jay, what you say about Mr. Adelson is probably true, but his VOTE only counts one time! There are millions of American women and others who disagree with his choice for President. I am one of them and their votes count too!

So when Bunny Mellon gives mega moolah to John Edwards so he can pursue POTUS and sire rug rats with women who look like Hulk Hogan on a bad hair day it’s perfectly alright. After all Bookman and Edwards share the same hair stylist. But Mittens has great hair as well. What’s going on? Nice to know when some fair weather liberals are questioning Our Beloved Messiah

we can take solace in Jay Bookman who has the determination, perspective, and focus of a Kamikaze pilot.

It wasn’t misinterpreted by the leading Jewish rulers of the day ! And they certainly knew the scriptures and the language.
In their minds He claimed to be GOD which is why they cried “blasphemy” and why they had him crucified.
Again …………. it all boils down to:
LIAR
LUNATIC
or
LORD.
I’ve made my choice.
Out again ………. be back in about two hours.

His stock is dropping like a rock in the European press, also. His former fan club at Der Spiegel (German mag) has BO’s pic on cover with this headline:
Schade (shame)
Obama’s failed presidency
and from die Welt (the world)
Barack Obama, the Tragic President
