Fox News lets the mask slip once again

This is not a Romney campaign ad. Not technically anyway.

It is a video produced by the Fox News Channel as a news product, a “fair and balanced” review of the Obama presidency to date. It was broadcast on the channel this morning.

Twice.

Since then, it has become such an embarrassment that Fox has made it vanish from its website.

UPDATE: The Fox PR folks emailed, asking that the following response be posted:

“The package that aired on FOX & Friends was created by an associate producer and was not authorized at the senior executive level of the network. This has been addressed with the show’s producers.”
–Bill Shine, Executive Vice President of Programming, FOX News Channel

NPR lets it slip every single day

On the radio this morning saying America was no longer a country where people could get ahead

This evening touting how Obama was the embodiment of the American dream

Then they proceeded to proclaim what republicans believed about individual success. Without even asking a republican, just a “reporter” speaking declaring: republicans believe X

Don’t worry about it USMC. Its no big deal. If Poland can’t show a little sack and get over it we can always invade them. Nothing like another war to get the repugs all orgasmic with glee, not to mention all the defense spending it will bring.

As for Fox “News”, I’m sure their apologists will say the clip was intended as “political commentary”, not “news”. As we should all know by now, after being told so many times, Fox keeps those two things verrrrrrry separate, so as not to confuse the worlds stupidest news audience.

No change to social security
No change to Medicare
No change to the deficit other than making it worse
No change in simplifying and cleaning up the tax code

Jay, how do you even have the nerve to bring this up when you liberals have MSNBC (Chris Matthews, Rachel Maddow and a host of others), CNN, the Washington Post, the New York Times (Krugman), the LA Times and your Atlanta Journal Consitution in the Obama cheerleading section of the America media who send out daily barrages of messages against Romney and the GOP? NBC, CBS and ABC are all in the tank for your boy. Is one dissenting voice in the media which happens to be watched by most of America that important to you? I do have to wonder though, why are they watched the most? And, if I were the Romney campaign I would run exactly this same “commercial” over and over and over. With Obama, hope has changed to constant fear and class and race warfare. Change has morphed into killing people with drones instead of water boarding and promising more people government assistance which is only fueling the fires of our country’s decline. Again, under Obama 25% of this country’s working age population has given up even looking for a job and instead are relying upon government assistance. This makes the un-employment numbers meaningless as those of us that even bother to think already knew. Is this what you want for our country’s future Jay? Is this what you want for you childrens future?

Exhibit A as to why Faux News watchers are more uninformed than even the people who watch no news!

A poll by Farleigh Dickinson University in New Jersey showed that of all the news channels out there, Fox News viewers are the least informed.

People were asked questions about news habits and current events in a statewide poll of 600 New Jersey residents recently. Results showed that viewers of Sunday morning news shows were the most informed about current events, while Fox News viewers were the least informed. In fact, FDU poll results showed they were even less informed than those who say they don’t watch any news at all.

Readers of The New York Times, USA Today and listeners to National Public Radio were better informed about international events than other media outlets.

And that disgusting little Aussie troll Murdoch laughs all the way to his offshore banks…

In one major example, New Jersey poll participants were questioned about the outcome of the so-called Arab Spring uprisings in North Africa earlier in the year. A total of 53% of respondents know that Egyptians were successful in overthrowing dictator Hosni Mubarak. Also, 48% know that the Syrian uprising has thus far been unsuccessful in ousting Assad.

But on balance, Fox News viewers were 18-points less likely to know that Egyptians overthrew their government than those who were not TV news viewers.

Fox News viewers were also 6-points less likely to know that Syrians have not yet overthrown their government than those who watch no news, suggesting a daily dose of sound bytes from CNN at the gym, and headlines from Google News were enough to surpass what average Fox viewers polled knew about current events.

Sad, but funny at the same time, these Republcian News Network rubes…

Off topic Jay, but this is an example of what some others were talking about down stairs. If the campaign had to fund this how much would it have cost? Why isn’t this considered a “donation”? This is just ONE org out of hundreds that do this for both sides.

“MoveOn has an incredible track record in past elections—when we take on a campaign, we get results.

“In 2008, MoveOn was one of the first groups to endorse President Obama, and we then recruited 1 million volunteers who went door to door, made phone calls, and helped provide the surge of grassroots support necessary to elect Obama.

“In 2006, before anyone else was even talking about it, we announced plans to take back Congress from the Republicans. We made over 7 million phone calls to occasional voters to help fuel the Democratic takeover of Congress.

“And in 2004 we organized a neighborhood get-out-the-vote program that knocked on over 4.6 million doors in 10,000 swing-state precincts.

IF (and that “if” is about the size of the solar system) you think Fox & Friends is a news program at all, then you might have a point. However, given that program is about as much of a news program as I am an international track star, I see that video as nothing but a ratings boost and/or feeding the perceived notions and ideas that their viewing audience already thinks is the gospel truth.

Cable news channels are not above pandering to their audience in order to boost ratings. High ratings means more money for advertising. The end game is $$$ and not the news.

“The White House convinces itself that the Obama-ordered air strikes overseas have not killed many civilians because, according to the president, any and all men near around a drone target are considered enemies of America and can be executed without being added to the count of civilian casualties.

“It in effect counts all military-age males in a strike zone as combatants, according to several administration officials, unless there is explicit intelligence posthumously proving them innocent,” is how the Times report it. “Counterterrorism officials insist this approach is one of simple logic: people in an area of known terrorist activity, or found with a top Qaeda operative, are probably up to no good.”

I’m glad that I’ve already had my last meal for the day…. I hope that imagery doesn’t resurface when I’m eating breakfast in the morning.

I saw the FOX story. If it were a lie on NBC, CBS or ABC about, for example Bush’s national guard record it, would be no problem for the wicked left and Jay would not report it. However, the truth about Obama’s dismal record on “Hope and Change” is not news worthy. In fact, just this week the so called major net works insisted on repeating Obama lies about Romney’s time at Bain Capital causing layoffs when in fact the lay offs did not occur during the time Romney was at Bain Capital. Obama knows they are distorting the truth and so does the networks but the networks dutifuly report whatever they are told by the white house. Jay is merely one of the Democrat party marionettes whose job between now and Novemeber will be to talk about anything but Obama’s record.

By the way, has anyone seen how much the Republican budget proposal reduces the debt yet. I’m still hoping for those numbers to be published in a new Heritage paper or on some other Koch-run website such as the GOP’s site or perhaps Paul Ryan’s page, et al, but to no avail. Republicans keep going on and on, and on and on… on and on and on… about the horrors of the monstrously large debt that only Obama has created and dumped upon the US so I figure they surely must have something more to share with us than just their usual. But No. They do not. They have nothing more than the usual. Nary a solution. Unless I have missed something. Anyway. That is why I ask. So I ask again. Has anyone seen anything from the Republicans that details just how much their budget proposal reduces the debt. Anyone. Maybe from one of your friends at Fox.

So is there bias in the media? Only if you think honing on Romney’s wealth repeatedly while ignoring Kerry’s billionaire wealth several years ago is bias.

“According to the study, in the period from January to April of this year, the three newscasts discussed Romney’s wealth 27 times. In the same period in 2004, they discussed Kerry’s finances twice. In fact, ABC News did 15 stories on Romney money, one on Kerry money. That was better than NBC which did none on Kerry money.”

Lib ilks here will weep at this news:

“This reporter has been told that Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez has metastatic rhabdomyosarcoma, an aggressive cancer that has “entered the end stage”.”

My sympathies to you all.

Since then, it has become such an embarrassment that Fox has made it vanish from its website.

I’d love to see an explanation.

Perhaps the Edward R. Murrow-like Neil Cavuto could enlighten us…
