For the moment, I’ll file this under “Believe it when I see it,” but it’s nonetheless encouraging:
“Iran and the U.N. nuclear watchdog agency are near agreement on a plan that could lift the veil on some of the Islamic Republic’s past nuclear research, U.N. officials said Tuesday in an announcement that raised hopes for a more comprehensive nuclear accord when Iranian officials meet with six world powers later in the week.
Yukiya Amano, the head of the International Atomic Energy Agency, said U.N. and Iranian officials settled most of their differences during talks Monday in the Iranian capital and were moving toward a formal pact on making Iran’s nuclear activities more transparent….
“We had expansive and intensive talks in a positive atmosphere,” Amano told Iranian television after the hastily arranged meeting in Tehran.
Iran’s chief nuclear negotiator, Saeed Jalili, also hailed what he described as “very good talks” with the IAEA leader. “God willing, we will have good cooperation in the future,” he added.”
In a separate line of negotiations, six major countries including the United States will meet with Iranian representatives beginning Wednesday to discuss a deal in which Iran would dismantle its nuclear infrastructure and surrender its stores of highly enriched uranium. In return, harsh economic sanctions against Iran would be lifted.
The odds of success in that negotiation would probably increase if the IAEA inspection deal is finalized, suggesting that Iran is finally willing to concede to international demands. In the past, however, Iran has repeatedly seemed to agree to deals only to back out of them later.
Will this time prove different? Perhaps so. Iran has never before faced economic sanctions so broad and so well-enforced internationally. It’s also pretty clear that if these negotiations fail, military intervention becomes a much more serious option, and that’s a route that nobody should be eager to travel.
Stay tuned. Success is far from guaranteed, but it’s at least worth the effort. As an old Iranian proverb puts it, “Trust in God — but tie your camel tight.”

Well Fred, from their point of view, the CIA engineered a coup against a democratically elected government back in the ’50s, installing the shah of Iran instead as our puppet. Then for the next 25 years or so we strongly backed the shah and his brutally repressive regime.
After that we backed Saddam Hussein in the Iran-Iraq war that Iraq started as a way to seize Iranian oil fields, just as he later tried to seize Kuwaiti oil fields. Hundreds of thousands of Iranians died in that war.
Other than that kind of stuff, we’ve been the best of buds.

If I were to guess, gas prices are not going to drop below $3.00 again unless there’s some major event that leads to a worldwide drop in demand, kinda like another GLOBAL recession. Our domestic price is tied into worldwide demand now thanks to companies exporting fuels to the extent they do now. We have little control over costs as compared to what we had even 5 years ago.

++++
It is meme that is often repeated that we support Iraq but that is really incorrect. The main supporter of Iraq was the Soviet Union. The main reason was that Iran being a revolutionary Islamic government was seen as a threat to the Soviet Union with a large Muslim population. The United States slightly favored the Iraq’s but not much. The United States was torn between Iraq’s violation of Iran soveregnity and Irans public animosity to the United States.
Keep in my we actually supported Iraq with secret arm sales.
“Part of the US dilemma in the Gulf was that the United States was committed to the territorial integrity of a state, Iran, whose rulers were implacably hostile to it. Washington wished to protect other states in the region from Iranian expansionism as well as protecting Iran from that of the Soviet Union, so that coupled with a natural and publicly supported wish to do down the Khomeini regime was a more pragmatic need to see the survival of a stable, independent and anti-communist Iran. The central importance of Iran in America’s geopolitical strategy until the advent of the Gorbachev era forced a reappraisal, was outlined by Henry Kissingner in 1982:
“The focus of Iranian pressure at this moment is Iraq. There are few governments in the world less deserving of our support and less capable of using it. Had Iraq won the war, the fear in the Gulf and the threat to our interest would be scarcely less than it is today. Still, given the importance of the balance of power in the area, it is in our interests to promote a ceasefire in that conflict; through not a cost that will preclude an eventual rapprochement with Iran either if a more moderate regime replaces Khomenini’s or if the present rulers wake up to geopolitical reality [sic] that the historic threat to Iran’s independence has always come from the country with which it shares a border of 1,500 miles (2,400 km): the Soviet Union. A raprochement with Iran, of course, must await at a minimum Iran’s abandonment of hegemonic aspirations [sic] in the Gulf”.
Iran, in other words, should be befriended if possible, but must above, be contained.
The Gulf War John Bulloch and Harvey Morris
The main reason is what you stated in the first paragraph is our support of the Shah which many Iranian saw as repressive.

Doom — “I wouldn’t call this a foreign policy success just yet. Better wait till they actually dismantle their program rather than talking about it before we can deem this a success. We’ve been stalled and strung along by Iran as well as other nations like North Korea before.”
FWIW, there’s no *hard* evidence that Iran is trying to advance a nuclear weapons program, but there’s a lot of *circumstantial* evidence. IAEA Director General ElBaradei said as much a few years ago, and Israel’s been shrieking about alleged Iranian weapons for a lot longer than that. There are several ambiguous points that Iran could do a lot to clarify, but their failure to do so isn’t evidence that they are actually trying to build nukes. Saddam Hussein was fooling around with inspectors for years, but when it came right down to it, he turned out not to have anything. He apparently just wanted his rivals in the Middle East (think Iran) worried that he *might* have them and thus balk any aggressive moves they might have wanted to make against him.
Iran claims to want to develop peaceful nuclear power, and some of their declared programs do support that. Iran also claims to want to produce medical isotopes, and some of their declared programs support that as well. However, there are a few things they’re doing that *might* indicate an attempt to go farther, though they could also indicate peaceful research that others have tried and failed at. Again, we just don’t know, and while Iran could easily clear things up, they just haven’t done so.
So do they have nukes? Don’t think so. Are they trying to build them? Probably not, but there are some valid concerns. Should we be worried? I don’t think so, but I do think we should keep the pressure on and get them to the negotiating table. Remember, shortly before we invaded Iraq, Saddam Hussein finally said ‘F**k, okay, bring the damn inspectors in, you a**holes.’ We ended up invading anyway, but shortly before we did, we warned the inspectors to get the hell out before the shooting started. If we get enough of the world on our side and we use some carrots AND some sticks, I think we can get the Iranians to come clean.
Assuming they actually ARE clean. FWIW, I’d rather we didn’t have to fight another war right now; our guys are tired and deserve some down time.

There’s this little market principle called supply and demand. As long as there is little to no demand for such a vehicle, no company will supply it. However, once they see a viable market for such a vehicle, you’ll probably have options presented to you. At this point and time nobody’s squawking for it, therefore it does not exist.

Dick Cheney is an idiot in saying that, partially. I suppose that high oil prices based on demand means a globally growing economy. But, expensive fuel also means higher prices on products we consume, those high costs work their way down the supply chain, every where from the raw product to the finished product, which high fuel cost kill my budget which is rather limited……my paycheck doesn’t grow anywhere near the rate inflation has the past 10 years or more….

He is correct. We should. If we could develop high-density low-cost batteries, we could do a better job harnessing other forms of energy that are intermittent, like the sun, wind, solar flairs, whatever.
Cars when they first came out were inefficient and had almost no market. If you asked the average person then what they want it would be “a faster horse”. Progress marches on. Get in front of the parade instead of behind the dancing elephants at the end of it.

As Dick Cheney said way back in 1986, “Let us rid ourselves of the fiction that low oil prices are somehow good for the United States.”
Dick Cheney also said “deficits don’t matter” as we’ve been reminded time and again. So if he was a fool for that statement than he is likewise a fool for the statement above.
There is an economic formula that economists use as there is a direct correlation between U.S. economic growth and the price of oil. If I remember correctly I think the general rule is that for every $10 rise in oil prices per barrel that U.S. economic production is affected negatively by two tenths of a percent so if oil rose from $100 to $110 a barrel the U.S. economy could contract by from say 1.8 to 1.6% growth. Not a huge correlation though if 2/10ths is indeed the correct number.

I was conversing with Scout about that vary issue yesterday. On one hand the US must play the game of which despot to back. On the other, it has certainly come with mixed results and people are mistaken if they think the populace of these countries are not aware of what we do.
I’m not advocating of Chavez, especially after that story I told josef and yourself a few weeks back, but how do you think that he was able to obtain power? It wasn’t because the poor thought that the US back regime was doing wonders for them. And the raggedy-azz North Korean system probably has the Chinese going ‘dude, watch out where you POINT that thing.’ If the Norks tried to fire off that failure of a satellite launcher they’ve got with a nuclear warhead on top of it, the thing would probably land somewhere in the ocean and go POOF.

Well yeah increasing deportation effected those countries disproportionately but that’s not really our fault. We just sent them back to the countries they came from.
Also this is how a lot of those gangs got started. The roots of some of those gangs were that the members were actually unemployed guerilla soldiers. There is nothing more dangerous than a newly unemployed guerilla fighter who has time on his hands and no job.
Take a look at history. After the ending of the Guatemalan and Salvadoran civil wars thousands of newly unemployed guerrilas resulted in a sharp rise in criminal activity in those countries. But their law is harsh and naturally some of them started migrating to the U.S. for criminal activity. So the idea that we exported crime to them is actually the reverse. It started with them exporting crime to us with a lot of aimless young men- often ex guerrillas without a job who had previously only known violence.

Amazingly, there are people who think Iran agreeing to talk is a “new” break through. It is not. Actually Iran has been talking since at least 2003 with the European Union and the United Nations. They have been allowing IAEA inspectors in their country as well. All prior agreements have been changed, lied about and ignored by Iran. This newest ploy is nothing different from many past delaying tactics by the Iranian government. They stall and we agree to the stall. Hopefully, this time it will be different. But, there is nothing in the history of our present administration to make one think this time will be different. I believe their sudden interest in re-opening discussions is not the result of any U.S. initiative or sanctions, it is more than likely their interest is stimulated by Israel’s tough position.

You’re right. I’m only partially correct on that. But keep in mind that what I’m also saying is that a lot of young, aimless men who would have up and joined the guerillas and been prime recruits for them during those guerilla years then opted instead for a life of crime instead when there were no guerrilla armies operating. Strange as it seems a guerilla army is also a source of employment.
“Believe it or not, the US military has had an unwitting hand in training gang members in military-styled warfare techniques too.”
Good point. Doesn’t surprise me in the least. I do know of several cases where gang members joined the military, got their training, and then brought it back with them to the streets.

My point was — and feel free to correct me if I’m wrong — that you are too intelligent to TRULY believe that $1.80 gasoline was anything but a very temporary aberration caused by a global economic collapse.
Again, maybe I was wrong in that assessment.”- Jay
Jay,
Seems to me that you just singled me out for a 2nd straight day in a somewhat scornful and vindictive manner no matter how polite I’ve been today. I didn’t call anyone any names or ridicule anyone or do anything to deserve that commentary. And as that black guy aptly pointed out my comment was no dumber than Adam’s original comment that Obama is somehow responsible for falling gas prices. Funny but you did not note how absurd that comment was.
Nevertheless I’ll address your statement. Gas was abnormally cheap at $1.81 and much of it did have to do with the global recession. However, the point of what we have been talking about amongst ourselves is that global demand probably will drop substantially given looming recession in Europe. I was thinking about the European crisis as well even though we hadn’t yet broached the topic.
And on top of that there have been other times in history when gas was cheap. When Clinton came into office it was $18 a barrel if I remember correctly although I’ve not adjusted it for inflation.
And thirdly as you well know dollar denominated purchases of gas have a lot to do with things since the dollar has lost something like half its value since Obama came into office. That loss in value is attributed mostly to our ever worsening deficit/debt situation. And I suspect you know that and that the dollar- which is under continual decline under Obama due to our worsening financial situation, is also is a key to the actual cost of gas.
If you are going to treat me in a derogatory manner when I make a comment that is anything but rude then just tell me now and I’ll just gladly cease and desist from posting on your blog. Or if you just want me to leave voluntarily just say so and I will.

Here’s hoping.
IF an agreement is reached, uranium stores are let go, etc. the US needs to avoid the chest-pounding and strutting (altho individual politicians will not be able to help themselves). Iran will likely play it that this proves they never had military intent and their sole intent was to get the West to recognize Iranian preeminence in the Gulf and to be consulted blah blah blah. This needs to be treated as both sides getting what they wanted in a mutually agreeable framework.
It will be interesting, right before an election, to see if Republican politicians find obstacles with verification and such. I can almost guarantee they will. It would be despicable for them to put partisan political interest above national interest. But it would not be the first time, for either party.

Reagan was caught sailing arms to Iran and yet we were “backing” Iraq. Also, the Iraq’s attacked one of our ships. Look through the article. Where did most of the Iraqi weapons come from? The Soviet Union. Where did most of the Iranian weapons come from the United States(prior to the Iranian Revolution). Remember the Scud missile. It is a Soviet weapon. They were still using them in the Gulf War.
I believe the statement “slightly favored” is more accurate. The main supporter of Iraq was the Soviet Union.

I’d buy these claims of hatred a lot more if the cons had done something besides watch the cheap labor pour in. And now you’re demanding somebody do something RIGHT NOW DAMMIT. Yeah right buddy.
Actually, Nafta was bi-partisan. The shipping of jobs overseas began shortly after. The new wage reality is a result of that, and there is nothing ANY politician can do to bring the jobs back.

(CNN) – Video of a North Carolina pastor preaching that gays and lesbians should be rounded up inside an electric fence is going viral on the Internet, two weeks after North Carolina passed a constitutional ban on same-sex marriage and President Barack Obama voiced personal support for legalizing such marriages.
“I figured a way out, a way to get rid of all the lesbians and queers, but I couldn’t get it past the Congress,” Pastor Charles L. Worley can be seen telling his Providence Road Baptist Church congregation in the video, which had more than 250,000 YouTube views by Tuesday.
“Build a great big, large fence – 50 or a 100 miles long – and put all the lesbians in there,” Worley went on to say in his May 13 sermon at his Maiden, North Carolina, church. “Fly over and drop some food. Do the same thing with the queers and the homosexuals, and have that fence electrified so they can’t get out. Feed them. And you know in a few years, they’ll die out. You know why? They can’t reproduce.”
“Listen, all of the Sodomites, the lesbians, and all of the … what’s that word? Gays – I didn’t wanna say ‘queers’ – that say we don’t love you, I love you more than you love yourself,” Worley said, according to WBTV. “I’m praying for you to be saved.”

Yeah, go Catholic patriarchical hierarchy. Most Catholics, okay many, do not agree with this very old stuff or with old, white, out of touch males who support it. The church I knew from birth left me long ago. I think it was just about the time when Rome decreed that my daughter could no longer be an alta server just because she was a GIRL. Yes, I am still bitter & angry. And when my Momma kept trying to convince & pray me back to that church, I told her I would consider it when that church ordains a woman. Okay, rant over. ++++++
Supporting my statement that the US s”slightly favor” over Jay’s backed is more accurate.
Despite the curious Iran-Contra scandal, the United States clearly favoured Iraq
during the war. Although Washington was not a major arms supplier to Baghdad, it did
provide intelligence at various times and displayed a generally favourable attitude toward
the Iraqis. However, commonly-heard claims that Saddam was a close ally of the United
States are not accurate. While the United States was very close to some of Saddam’s
local allies, Baghdad and Washington always held each other at arm’s length.

A New York City system-gaming public school teacher, Alan Rosenfeld, 66, continues to show up for make-work (such as photocopying “duty”), at a salary of $100,000 a year, rather than retire. Rosenfeld was accused in 2001 of making lewd comments to female students in his typing class and removed from classroom duty, but he protested and continues to exercise his union “due process” rights. In a January status report, the New York Post noted that Rosenfeld could have retired four years ago, but that by remaining on the “job,” the value of his pension increases, and the light duty enables him to conduct his real estate business while at “work.”

G Mare 71, mountain climbing is an extremely difficult thing to explain. It is VERY dangerous and there are about twenty different ways to buy the farm up there. But the view from above the clouds is indescribable.
I took the sport up in my 40s (Yeah, I’m dumb!) after seeing a film about Everest at the Fernbank IMAX.
I had always been very intrigued by it but after watching that film, I could not stop thinking about climbing.
Then three weeks later, out of the blue, a buddy of mine called and said he was thinking about climbing Mt. Ranier and was I interested.
I jumped at the chance.
We trained for over a year – Sandia Mountain in New Mexico, among others – and it was still the hardest thing I have ever done! But being up there was spectacular if not grueling.
One of the many highlights was meeting the then 70 year old Lou Whittaker and he was still a specimen! Anybody familiar with American climbing knows that his twin brother, Jim was the first American to summit Everest in 1963.
But I decided that it was a young guys sport and never climbed again…

In 1992, Bain Capital acquired American Pad & Paper, or Ampad, from Mead Corp., embarking on a ”roll-up strategy” in which a firm buys up similar companies in the same industry in order to expand revenues and cut costs.
Through Ampad, Bain bought several other office supply makers, borrowing heavily each time. By 1999, Ampad’s debt reached nearly $400 million, up from $11 million in 1993, according to government filings.
Sales grew, too – for a while. But by the late 1990s, foreign competition and increased buying power by superstores like Bain-funded Staples sliced Ampad’s revenues.
The result: Ampad couldn’t pay its debts and plunged into bankruptcy. Workers lost jobs and stockholders were left with worthless shares.
Bain Capital, however, made money – and lots of it. The firm put just $5 million into the deal, but realized big returns in short order. In 1995, several months after shuttering a plant in Indiana and firing roughly 200 workers, Bain Capital borrowed more money to have Ampad buy yet another company, and pay Bain and its investors more than $60 million – in addition to fees for arranging the deal.
Bain Capital took millions more out of Ampad by charging it $2 million a year in management fees, plus additional fees for each Ampad acquisition. In 1995 alone, Ampad paid Bain at least $7 million. The next year, when Ampad began selling shares on public stock exchanges, Bain Capital grabbed another $2 million fee for arranging the initial public offering – on top of the $45 million to $50 million Bain reaped by selling some of its shares.
Bain Capital didn’t escape Ampad’s eventual bankruptcy unscathed. It held about one-third of Ampad’s shares, which became worthless. But while as many as 185 workers near Buffalo lost jobs in a 1999 plant closing, Bain Capital and its investors ultimately made more than $100 million on the deal.

Obama Prospects Improve as Swing State Economies Improve
From extra shifts at auto and steel plants in Ohio to office buildings rising in Northern Virginia, the geography of the U.S. economic rebound is providing an edge to President Barack Obama’s re-election.
The unemployment rates in a majority of the 2012 battleground states are lower than the national average as those economies improve. Coupled with the growth of adult minority populations in those states, the trends create a higher bar for presumed Republican Party presidential nominee Mitt Romney in his quest to unseat Obama.

Keystone XL Pipeline Will Raise U.S. Gasoline Prices, Group Says
TransCanada Corp. (TRP)’s proposed pipeline to carry crude from the oil sands of Canada to the U.S. Gulf Coast would increase gasoline prices, according to a report from an environmental group that opposes the project.
The Keystone XL pipeline would divert crude oil from the U.S. Midwest to refineries along the Gulf Coast geared to producing diesel fuel for export, the Natural Resources Defense Council said in a report today. That will decrease the amount of gasoline produced for U.S. consumers and raise production costs, making the fuel more expensive, according to Anthony Swift, author of the report and an attorney with the environmental group.

The only thing worse than a crony-corp(ala Bain) ……is a crony-President -endorsed-(ala GM)————————–
.
The list of things the Federal government does well is fairly short. It comprises items like the 3rd Infantry Division; the United States Penitentiary Administrative Maximum Facility in Florence, Colo.; the Eisenhower Interstate Highway System (except that part near New York City that has been under construction since Ike was still alive) and… er… the dime is a nice coin.
The list of things the government does poorly is — obviously — much, much longer and includes essentially everything else.
.
Also earning a place on the latter list: automobile manufacturing. Last week, an analysis by economist John Lott (and went unremarked upon by the corporate media) revealed that Barack Obama’s 2009 bailout of the auto industry is likely one of the greatest boondoggles of the modern age. In order to allow his union cronies to take control of the beached whale that was General Motors Co., Obama handed the largest of Detroit’s “Big Three” $100 billion in taxpayer money. According to figures released last week, GM is now worth about one-third of that figure.
.
ONE HUNDRED BILLION.
.
Also this—————-Obama and his cronies are imposing 31 percent tariffs on imported solar panels from China. This will diminish competition for the government-subsidized cronies of the Obammunists at companies like the bankrupted corporate crooks at Solyndra, and will lead to higher prices to consumers for solar panels. It’s corporate welfare in disguise (to the economically ignorant, anyway), as has always been the case with protectionist tariffs.

BAIN..BAIN…BAIN…………..
.
In 2005, GM began showing cracks in its foundation, losing more than $10 billion. The unwieldy union deals (virtually untouched by the Obama bailout) were forcing the company toward bankruptcy. The losses mounted until December 2008, when the company admitted it was almost out of cash. Obama swept in, fired then-CEO Rick Wagoner and upped the taxpayer ante to a cool $100 billion, which now is not only beyond possible to repay but beyond the total value of GM by a factor of three.
In one of Obama’s auto industry ads, he mentions: “What happened in Detroit can happen in all sorts of communities…” Despite Obama’s infamous insincerity, he really means it. Judging by his economic “successes” like GM, if he’s re-elected he can do it, too.

Since we are fighting against Afghans, if are Afghans are as described above, would the same not be true of the ones we are fighting. Something here does not add up.
His description of Afghans is incorrect. If it was correct, we would not still be fighting gutless, stoned, undisciplined thieves and drug uses people after ten years. Sounds like gutless, stoned undisciplined thieves and drug useres make for some pretty good fighters – at least from the resutlts.

I’m out so you don’t have to worry about any more sappy sooth songs.

Evidently, according to our resident expert, there are Northern Afghan cons and Southern Afghan cons in perpetual conflict.
Maybe they’re conflicted over secession.

I am surprised the state of Georgia or the individual counties didn’t bargain with certain “liberal groups” to lift the beer embargo on Sunday. Maybe the intrusive government did and we just didn’t hear about it. They still have gambling as a bargaining chip. The problem is these churches are getting so radical they are blowing their cover as do gooders patrolling our communities.
What I think we do in this country is soften foreign countries with our standard of living and then yank it away as punishment when we need the control. We are like drug dealers. The sad thing is we are hooked on our own product and our greed can’t leave the embargo alone. It is like a man swearing off sex yet he has control of when to retire that decision.
I don’t think these countries were so weak as to having to have our blessing years ago or us so weak we had to give it. Vietnam as a trading partner may be the “m.o.” of our generation.

Wow, theatre of the absurd news-wise…teacher in NC uses the all too familiar liberal shout-down on student for expressing anti Barry comments; NC pastor wants all gays in trenches surrounded by electrified fences, dude has 30 kids with 11 women all on minimum wage salary, Obama bashes Bain despite Bain DEM contributions exceeding those to GOP…not shortage of good stuff that Jay can work with…

JAY,
Here’s a sign of the times from Wash Post..
With 61 percent of precincts reporting in Arkansas, Obama took 60 percent to 40 percent for Wolfe. In Kentucky, with nearly all precincts reporting, 42.1 percent of Democratic primary voters opted for “uncommitted” rather than backing the president, who received 57.9 percent.
Those results come two weeks to the day after Keith Judd, a convicted felon incarcerated in Texas, won 41 percent of the vote against Obama in the West Virginia primary.
Although the results haven’t stopped Obama’s march to renomination — he officially clinched the Democratic nod on April 3 — they remain an indicator of not-insignificant pockets of unrest within his party.
THAT’s funny I don’t care who you are…an inmate threatens President Trillions in WVA primary and 42% in KY uncommitted..of course Barry folks claim the race card…

The Conservative Fantasy History of Civil Rights
May 23rd, 2012
7:33 am
The civil rights movement, once a controversial left-wing fringe, has grown deeply embedded into the fabric of our national story. This is a salutary development, but a problematic one for conservatives, who are the direct political descendants of (and, in the case of some of the older members of the movement, the exact same people as) the strident opponents of the civil rights movement. It has thus become necessary for conservatives to craft an alternative story, one that absolves their own ideology of any guilt. The right has dutifully set itself to its task, circulating its convoluted version of history, honing it to the point where it can be repeated by any defensive College Republican in his dorm room. Kevin Williamson’s cover story in National Review is the latest version of what is rapidly congealing into conservatism’s revisionist dogma.

Dear Stevie: Do you always respond with blanket and false accusations? What praytell have you “disagreed” with me on and where have I attacked you?
Yes I know it’s just coincidence that your first post is the talking points for Neal Boortz. Just as it is “coincidence” when someone introduces off topic what Neal was just talking about. It’s always “coincidence.” It’s even more coincidence that the order is the same. I understand……….

Conservative Fantasy,
I concur with your postion being familiar with the lunacy with which the GOP tends to interpret history. To be fair, I’m not certain the DEM’s aren’t guilty of same stuff. Here’s a fun endeavor, read Howard Zinn’s DEM tinged History of the US and then read its conservative counterparts…my head almost exploded. In the words of Mark Knopler…”two men say they are Jesus, one of them must be wrong..” Seems there are 3 sides to every story..

Waste of time Granny, they refuse to acknowledge their culpability in the debt problem. It doesn’t fit in with their pre-programmed lies.
It’s all Obama’s fault. He’s the ruiner of the US and by proxy the World. If he gets one more term all mothers nationwide will start giving birth to three headed babies with webbed feet. The sky is falling, the sky is falling………

That 2nd 7:33 is excellent, and a point I make here regularly.
It is a disgraceful and embarrassing legacy that still lives very powerfully today and one that the Republicans run away from like a scalded dog.
OR mock themselves unwittingly as stevie ray did 7:29.
Either way, the racial animus runs so deep in today’s so-called conservatives, that it appears that it will take at least another generation or two for the disease to pass from these modern day Jim Crowers…
