The U.S. political scene just got a little less weird
Yesterday, Newt Gingrich “suspended” his campaign for president, in the same sense that back in 1776 the British “suspended” Nathan Hale for spying. The campaign is dead, and with it whatever remaining hopes Gingrich had to be president.
In his speech, Gingrich offered a very tepid endorsement of Mitt Romney, whose campaign had said more than a few unkind things about the former speaker. Romney himself had called Gingrich’s behavior “highly erratic,” pointing out that “it does not suggest a stable, thoughtful course, which is normally associated with leadership.” Gingrich has been less than complimentary to Romney as well; in fact, the Obama campaign has released an ad featuring Newt’s repeated skewering of his party’s nominee.
So on Wednesday, Newt promised to work to elect Republican candidates for the House, Senate, staet governors and state legislatures.
“As for the presidency, I’m asked sometimes, is Mitt Romney conservative?” he continued. “And my answer is simple. Compared to Barack Obama? You know, this is not a choice between Mitt Romney and Ronald Reagan. This is a choice between Mitt Romney and the most radical leftist president in American history.”

Bro – We did the heritage thing a few years ago and discovered that all of my family that could be traced was of German heritage, and oddly enough, I was the first person to not marry someone else of German heritage. Well, except for that one guy that married the French girl, but we made a family decision to not claim him.

Did anybody see the PBS special touching on Palin in the campaign in ‘08. They felt they had not vetted her well enough and didn’t realize what a nut they had on their hands until the decision had been made. This seems to be the characteristics of Republicans now days. Then if elected they run the country like a loose cannon too, unneeded wars break out, foreign relations are put on hold as we unilaterally go after weapons of mass destruction, bodies float in New Orleans streets after we have spent billions on Homeland and tell the public we can handle domestic disasters. And in the end they bailed out the banks they so poorly regulated, leaving loopholes for further poor behavior down the road, knowing their sloppy choice for presidential ticket would hand the problem over to the Democrats. Could you imagine another four years of this? We would be in a 10 year depression. I bet Bush wanted out of that White House door as bad as we wanted him out.

What landmark piece of legislation did Obama get passed? Why no college info. Why has he spent 11 million dollars blocking any past info on himself? What’s he hiding? Good morning, the thesis is sound but the headline is wrong. The Chen Guangcheng affair has suddenly made everything on the US political scene substantially stranger than it was the day before. President Obama has elected an unconventional course – and a difficult one – to protect the human rights activist who had found the safety of a US embassy. I hope it is not an error on a par with President Bush’s mis-evaluation of Putin.

My father-in-law loves that place; he’s big into all-you-can-eat restaurants. The in-laws insist on going there every time they come to visit. Mom-in-law’s all about chicken, though, so she’s all about going to Chic-fil-A. I’m not sure, but I don’t think they have any on the West Coast. Phoenix is the most westerly CFA I know of.

Maybe. My wife tells me that her dad’s always been a hearty-eatin’ kind of guy. I used to be, but my health issues have really restricted what I can eat and how much of it I can have. I’m on a high-protein, low-fiber diet now, but my doctor’s working with me on some changes.

If you believe most or all major news outlets are liberal media, you need your head examined. Many are, in fact, conservative media either spreading conservative propaganda willingly or unsuspectingly more than 50% of the airtime involving political issues. See multiple studies for details.
