Wow. This is true slime.
Some of you may recall Sandra Fluke, a student at Georgetown University and former head of Georgetown Law Students for Reproductive Justice, who was barred by House Republicans from offering a woman’s perspective at a male-dominated hearing on the Obama administration’s contraception rule.

Later, House Democrats set up their own hearing in which Fluke was the star witness. Her full prepared testimony can be found here, but as the AP reported it:
“Fluke, a third-year law student, said that Georgetown Law, a Jesuit institution, does not provide contraception coverage in its student health plan and that contraception can cost a woman more than $3,000 during law school. She spoke of a friend who had an ovary removed because the insurance company wouldn’t cover the prescription birth control she needed to stop the growth of cysts.”
Think what you will of the issue or of Fluke’s testimony. Nothing the young woman said or did earned her this, from Rush Limbaugh:
“What does it say about the college coed Susan [sic] Fluke, who goes before a congressional committee and essentially says that she must be paid to have sex? What does that make her? It makes her a slut, right? It makes her a prostitute. She wants to be paid to have sex.
“She’s having so much sex she can’t afford the contraception. She wants you and me and the taxpayers to pay her to have sex. What does that make us? We’re the pimps.
“The johns, that’s right. We would be the johns — no! We’re not the johns. Well — yeah, that’s right. Pimp’s not the right word.
“OK, so, she’s not a slut. She’s round-heeled. I take it back.”
I’ve shied away from accusations that this issue is being driven on the right by misogyny, because in many cases it’s not. But clearly, in many other cases that’s exactly what’s driving it. Limbaugh’s attack is a vicious attempt to frighten and intimidate women into going silent on the issue, and the message is intended not merely for Fluke but for women in general. Limbaugh is a frightened little bully attempting to keep women in their place, and in that regard is no different than the mullahs of Afghanistan who condemn non-virgin women to a stoning.
It is a despicable, and it tells you a lot about the current state of affairs in our nation that someone with a podium as grand and lucrative as Limbaugh’s can spout such bile about a young woman whom he has never met, and do so without consequence.

because she is there and wants somebody else (her male couterparts) to pay for her contraception.
Um, she probably doesn’t need contraception because of her female counterparts, there just might be a guy involved in this somewhere. So are you saying women should pay for contraception out of their own pocket while men get a free ride, so to speak?

We SHOULD give Fluke a break because when it comes to young adults (18-24) in the US, the employment rate is just barely above half, or 54%, which just happens to be the lowest in 64 years, and 7% worse than when Obama took office promising a whole lot of change 3 years ago.

Rush and the Republican political leaders are getting closer every day to the Muslim mullahs way of thinking. It’s clear that, deep down, Rush and these Republicans have nothing but fear, hatred and contempt for women. This indicates a deep psychological disorder. What’s truly amazing is why Republican women seem to go along with this. Are they so browbeaten and bullied that fear keeps them from voting Democtatic?

Limbaugh is a frightened little bully attempting to keep women in their place, and in that regard is no different than the mullahs of Afghanistan who condemn non-virgin women to a stoning.
As I have indicated before, CONTROL and PUNISHMENT. CONTROL of the government is required, so that even if you are within the bounds of the law, if the people who want to be in control have their way, they can still PUNISH you somehow. Example: legal shame and humiliation hurdles to get a legal procedure. Example: legal discrimination if you have a child while not married.
This is what they want – to silence and punish women, legally. And don’t think they will stop with women. Anyone who is not an old white wealthy land owner will eventually get the shaft if they have their way.

2) You are the VERY SAME A-HOLES who immediately blame the woman for getting pregnant “well, she should have been on birth control … she should have been on the pill … she should have taken personal responsibility” – then you’re the first ones who call women sluts for trying to do that very thing.

More on-topic, enlightened commentary from prominent, respectable conservative punditry I simply must share with my fellow Bookmaniacs:
One successful foray ended on the guest bed of a high school friend’s parents, with a girl who resembled a chunkier Reese Witherspoon drunkenly masticating my neck and cheeks. It had taken some time to reach this point–”Do most Harvard guys take so long to get what they want?” she had asked, pushing her tongue into my mouth. I wasn’t sure what to say, but then I wasn’t sure this was what I wanted. My throat was dry from too much vodka, and her breasts, spilling out of pink pajamas, threatened my ability to. I was supposed to be excited, but I was bored and somewhat disgusted with myself, with her, with the whole business… and then whatever residual enthusiasm I felt for the venture dissipated, with shocking speed, as she nibbled at my ear and whispered–”You know, I’m on the pill…”

Whew! THAT WAS CATHARTIC! Contraceptives are used for a myriad of female disorders-many of which can handicap a woman, render her unable to have children and in some cases, shorten her life. I know you guys know that and we all know that unless you are impotent, you are ALL eternally grateful for contraceptives and don’t care how they are paid for as long as you don’t get saddled with one more mouth to feed or a child to support by that little woman you’re shagging on the side.

Recon: Why should a college student be immune to criticism. She went on national television and made a fool out of herself with those stupid comments.
I take it you will also defend Ed Schultz’s comments about Laura Ingraham? Since, you know, she was out there on a national presence and all and made stupid comments. Surely that means both of them DESERVE it

and this difference seems to ZOOM right over their heads.

JAY,
IMO, the worst of the worst of these entertainment talkingheads are Rush Limbaugh, John Gibson, BIGED, and Thom Hartmann the latter at least not being personally judgemental however his general attacks on any who don’t agree with his socialist agenda are distasteful….
We must remember that in this age, it’s extremes that sell airtime, newspapers and super PACs/campaign donors. I’m glad you brought this up…
I concur with Bertrand Russell on the religion thingy…aside from developing the calendar and charting moon’s orbit, it poisons everything it touches but the most deplorable church positon that is pushed on it’s masses is the sex thing.

We have a large enough sample now. How is Limbaugh’s harsh language directed against the democrat’s shill in the house democrat hearing different from the leftist language directed at me on this blog on a daily basis?

AQUAGIRL,
I’m with you on this…the only reason sex et al is an issue is that it’s the only way to get the big cash and ministerial support from a dwindling church going population….condom’s suck…Of course that’s just my opinion.

Limbaugh is a jerk, always has been. But that doesn’t mean I think people should be on the hook for college girls’ birth control. I sure don’t expect other people to pay for my condoms.

Peadawg: And obviously Rush doesn’t know that birth control is used for more things than having sex.
He also doesn’t know that this is COMPLETELY IRRELEVANT. Having control over someone else’s sex life is a special, and I don’t mean that kindly, kind of mentality.

There is a big difference between women’s rights and free contraception.
And there’s a big difference between “free contraception” and contraceptive coverage included in a health policy that someone — in this case, the student — pays for.
____________________________
The purpose of insurance is to spread risk. Premiums are adjusted based on payouts. Free contraceptives drive up cost that is passed to all under the group policy including the employer. People who have no need for contraceptives are paying for others to use them. It’s a nice benefit, free contraceptives, but our country is at the end of providing such things.
The Left is trying to group a contraceptive with drugs. Contraceptives are electives except perhaps in the case of a health problem where the contraceptive is the proper treatment. Contraceptives and ED drugs should be paid completely out of one’s pocket. And don’t give me the reply that students don’t have any money. I could care less. They are going down their chosen path. They should be overjoyed to be in college.

If you can’t afford birth control, then you damn sure can’t afford a child. That is all this is, looking for another hand out, and they know the democratic party is there to give it to them.
I do like how Limbaugh pisses off all the libs though. Maybe his choice of words were a little rough, but I have to agree with Rush. Here is some chick going to law school at Georgetown, which is one of the more expensive universities in the country, and she doesn’t think she should have to pay for her own birth control? What a whack case this chick is. I smell crazy all over this beyotch.

You can only shame those who are capable of feeling shame. Rush cannot.
Fits the definition of a psychopath.
