Wow. This is true slime.
Some of you may recall Sandra Fluke, a student at Georgetown University and former head of Georgetown Law Students for Reproductive Justice, who was barred by House Republicans from offering a woman’s perspective at a male-dominated hearing on the Obama administration’s contraception rule.

Later, House Democrats set up their own hearing in which Fluke was the star witness. Her full prepared testimony can be found here, but as the AP reported it:
“Fluke, a third-year law student, said that Georgetown Law, a Jesuit institution, does not provide contraception coverage in its student health plan and that contraception can cost a woman more than $3,000 during law school. She spoke of a friend who had an ovary removed because the insurance company wouldn’t cover the prescription birth control she needed to stop the growth of cysts.”
Think what you will of the issue or of Fluke’s testimony. Nothing the young woman said or did earned her this, from Rush Limbaugh:
“What does it say about the college coed Susan [sic] Fluke, who goes before a congressional committee and essentially says that she must be paid to have sex? What does that make her? It makes her a slut, right? It makes her a prostitute. She wants to be paid to have sex.
“She’s having so much sex she can’t afford the contraception. She wants you and me and the taxpayers to pay her to have sex. What does that make us? We’re the pimps.
“The johns, that’s right. We would be the johns — no! We’re not the johns. Well — yeah, that’s right. Pimp’s not the right word.
“OK, so, she’s not a slut. She’s round-heeled. I take it back.”
I’ve shied away from accusations that this issue is being driven on the right by misogyny, because in many cases it’s not. But clearly, in many other cases that’s exactly what’s driving it. Limbaugh’s attack is a vicious attempt to frighten and intimidate women into going silent on the issue, and the message is intended not merely for Fluke but for women in general. Limbaugh is a frightened little bully attempting to keep women in their place, and in that regard is no different than the mullahs of Afghanistan who condemn non-virgin women to a stoning.
It is a despicable, and it tells you a lot about the current state of affairs in our nation that someone with a podium as grand and lucrative as Limbaugh’s can spout such bile about a young woman whom he has never met, and do so without consequence.

I don’t see anything wrong with what Rush said. If she doesn’t like the fact she is going to a Jesuit law school that intends to live out its beliefs instead of caving to whiners like her, she can find another school. No school, college, business, or organization should be required to provide contraceptives. If you want to engage in sex, you should be responsible for either providing your own contraceptives or the consequences of a baby. Responsibility starts prior to the sex, not after the fact.
Besides, the only contraceptive that woman needs is to ensure her partner doesn’t have a bag to throw over her head. Yuckkk! Who would, oh never mind.

timbo – you are missing the point. Why should we care if she is banging the basketball team? We should care that we live in America, where things should be as equal as possible. Where if the men can get viagra, woman should also get the form of medicine that is needed for her medical needs, and I’m not talking about birth control. But for your argument, lets just say she has found the love of her life and is having gawd forsaken sex. Just what if she has a gene that has all of her children being born a horrific death after living for only 6 mos. Do you want to force her to go through that, then the insurance company pay for the hospital bill, only to have a 6 month old die a painful death? Or do you think that if she carries that gene, she just shouldn’t have sex at all. And I think your being civil, so far.

Ok, so there are way too many things wrong with this.
First, why is an institution paying health coverage to students?!? It’s a flipping school, not a corporate job.
Second, have we gotten so whacked out that there is actually a “Georgetown Law Students for Reproductive Justice”? seriously? What does it have, like, 3 members?
Do they do social events with the Georgetown Law Students for Alien Body Replacements?
$3,000 for contraception? Can’t she go out and buy her own condoms? Why should the school?
This is insane. No wonder tuition is going through the roof.
Limburger’s statements were over the line too. Why do you focus on that blowhard? Us conservatives, the real ones, not the extremists, ignore him. You do the same.

Shawny- Most colleges provide access to health insurance (paid for by students) What is the issue?Fortunately the new healthcare plan will help many students by letting them stay on their parents plans until 26. You can bet every eligible Repug family will take advantage of this , just like family leave plan.
With the Repug womb invaders on the march it seems to me Reproductive justice might be a worthy cause.
Condoms have what to do with tuition? Not great form of birth control for women.

“”I thank the thousands of women and men, including members of Congress, Georgetown University students and faculty, and total strangers of all political stripes across the country who have offered kind words and support following recent egregious personal attacks.
“We are fortunate to live in a democracy where everyone is entitled to their own opinions regarding legitimate policy differences. Unfortunately, numerous commentators have gone far beyond the acceptable bounds of civil discourse.
“No woman deserves to be disrespected in this manner. This language is an attack on all women, and has been used throughout history to silence our voices.
“The millions of American women who have and will continue to speak out in support of women’s health care and access to contraception prove that we will not be silenced.”

I think it is down right scary that the libs on this blog seem to have no problem at all with 17 and 18 year old kids having sex whenever they want, and shamelessly supporting their decisions. Their point of view is that the kids are going to do it anyway, so just let them have at it. Speaks volumes about your parenting skills, not to mention your morals.
Call me a prude if you want, actually I am expecting far worse then that, but when a society has lost its moral compass, we are all doomed. No time in our countries history has sex been as open and free as it is today, but when someone speaks out on it, they are shouted down by the liberal masses, just like I am about to be. You folks ought to look yourself in the mirror and ask if this is the society that you want.
Go ahead and cast your stones, that is about the only thing that liberals are good at. Just make sure you do not live in a glass house.

Jay it is about right and wrong and I would agree that what he said is very wrong BUT it is no more so than calling him a dope head or any worse than the name calling your liberal bloggers are engage in now.
But here is the real rub for conservatives, liberals will condemn what republicans say and do on the basis that it is unkind, inhuman, racist etc… However they insist that killing a fetus is ok. Limbaughs verbiage is indeed vile but I bet it is less so than the act of sucking a beating heart out of a womb.
As you know this is not about verbage or name calling. This is about a slow bleed strategy that the dems are following. Pass unread laws in order to prevail in the overall medical take over, change the name of abortion to “health care rights for women” (like women all over the country are denied healthcare), mandate religious institutions to waive their actual religious beliefs in favor of said care and then hit us with the well know refrain of ” abortion is part of a woman’s health care “. In the end dems will have circumvented the entire abortion argument by simply mandating its coverage. After all if we can force any religious institution to cover it the rest is a done deal.
But seriously how can a catholic or Protestant democrat support or justify supporting abortion if they are truly religious ? Where does that waiver come from ?

I am against killing a life because it is an inconvenience, providing free rubbers and pills to sexually mature women or men, who should abstian if they cannot do it without my wallet and the privaledge of being married to my wife-who truth be told runs almost every aspect of our lives. I respect her because she is not arguing for free love, altering the word of God just to make a homosexual couple feel better about themselves, thinks you should pay for your own healthcare via your job- which you should get no matter how hard it is and she thinks that a child is a child not a choice, after you get pregnant.

About 25% of her testimony was valid, the rest was either fabricated or wildly exaggerated. She wanted attention, now she has it. $10 a month will get her birth control at Target or Walmart. The everything and the kitchen sink health care plan the prez is building sounds an awful lot like the “Cadillac” health care plans that currently run about $3k a month for a family. I’m 70 years old, a Southerner, and fiscally conservative, but I utterly repudiate Rush Limbaugh’s out-of-control rant, including his “slut” slur, about Ms. Fluke. Limbaugh panders to the lowest element of society, aside from being a total hypocrite on many things, and revels in money earned from making outrageous statements. I’m not a woman but can tell you that my late mother (born 1913, died 1998), who voted Republican for at least the last four decades of her life, was nevertheless an ardent supporter of a woman’s right to choose (which necessarily encompasses contraception), and was most outspoken about it. Here’s the consolation: Fortunately, people like Limbaugh are doing great work getting Mr. Obama re-elected, by publicly spouting such garbage. My personal comment to Limbaugh: “pick on someone your own size, if you can find somewhat that fat, you bully/sissy.”

Limbaugh does what he does. His babble shouldn’t be used as a reason to turn this into a matter of misogyny. His point can be made a good bit less nastily. What the women want who are objecting is to have someone else pay for contraceptives so they can be free to enjoy sex without the consequences of pregnancy. But it isn’t other people’s responsibility to do that. This is just another example of an entitlement mentality. Women may be entitled to have contraceptives available, but that doesn’t put the burden on others to pay for them. More fundamentally, though, this is also just another attempt to make a particular social issue a gender issue when it isn’t. It’s a religious freedom issue. No one is inhibiting the freedom of women who want contraceptives. They can run down to the store and get them. In the same way that secularists would balk at being forced to pay for something religious people want that is offensive to the non-religious, many Christians balk at having to violate their beliefs for the benefit of others who have no right to demand it of them.

So she could have 4 intercourse(s) per day at least.

Carole,
Care to share your ‘anger’ about the ‘tea bagging’ comments made by those on the left?

Carole,
I have given you just a few examples of the vitriol and hate from the left. Your silence has proven my point.
If you do not like what Rush said, there are dials on your radio and I would suggest that you use them.

What is wrong with you people who literally think she is saying they need $3,000 to cover contraceptives. Try reading the context where she said it “can cost a woman more than $3,000 … [and] spoke of a friend who had an ovary removed.”
For crying out loud, do you really think she is just asking for birth control pills.. Wake up

First of all I NEVER LISTEN TO HOWARD STERN. He’s just as sick as Rush. At least his brand of radio is just what you expect. Women sit in his studio and show their breast. He’s not an alleged political commentator. A person that has the entire Democratic party waiting with baited breath to hear what he has to say. He’s not the two-headed Godfather of the Democratic party like Karl Rove and Rush are. So I don’t care what he says.
What is a MILF? By the way, were any of the women on the right called sluts or prostitutes? Did anyone on the Left suggest that they videotape their sexual encounters? There is a level of name calling that is usually considered acceptable. The names that Rush called this woman are not.

At least Schultz had the courage and was a REAL MAN unlike the lard-assed pill popping hypocrite when he made a 9 MINUTE SINCERE APOLOGY to a nasty public personality like Laura Ingrham. Fluke on the other hand is a PRIVATE citizen unlike Ingraham or Limpballs.

Either way since most Americans equate Limpballs as the de facto leader of the Republicans, this is going to hurt bad in November.
Just remember you read it here- If the Republicans thought the 2008 elections were a disaster they will long for it after this election cycle. Romney like the typical coward he is, refused to criticize Limpballs and gain some respect. Too bad for you right wing nuts that your likely nominee has absolutely no nads and bows down to King Tub-o-Lard.
Your clueless asses are getting swept out of the House and you can definitely forget about the Senate. The White House? Ha ha ha!!
This is like watching Titanic steam towards the iceberg and instead of taking evasive action just go full steam ahead right for the berg….
Good night now GOP!!
