According to John Lennon, his bandmate Paul McCartney wrote this song “back in the Cavern days” in Liverpool, which would put McCartney at about 20 years of age.
Today, the 69-year-old McCartney is looking at 64 from the opposite end of the time scale, peering back at it instead of forward to it. When he performs it today, an already wistful little ditty no doubt takes on an even more sepia tone.
But why, you may ask, did I choose to post this now? Well, 33 years ago today, my bride and I said our “I do”s, and the passage of time does make you think a little differently about such things.
Happy Anniversary, Babe.
“Will you still need me, will you still feed me,
When I’m sixty-four?”

josef:
“Chutzpah is a Yiddish word meaning having gall…brazen nerve…effrontery…sheer guts…plus arrogance.
It’s Yiddish and, as Leo Rosten writes, no other word, and no other language, can do it justice. Example…
A little old lady sold pretzels on a street corner for a dollar each.
Every day a young man would leave his office building at lunch time
And as he passed the pretzel stand, he would leave her a dollar, but
Never take a pretzel.
This offering went on for more than three years. The two of them
Never spoke. One day as the young man passed the old lady’s stand
And left his dollar as usual, the pretzel lady spoke to him for the first
Time in over three years. Without blinking an eye she said:
“They’re a dollar and a quarter now.”

It has always served me. Sometimes well, sometimes not so well………. Kinda like the last verse of the song I’m gonna play.
The old man had a vision, it was hard for me to follow
I do things my way, pay an awfully high price
When I think back on the old man and the bus ride
Now that I’m older I can see he was right
Another hot one out on highway eleven
This is my life, it’s what I’ve chosen to do

I hate it when I see someone trashing a piece of music. Just because you don’t appreciate it, doesn’t mean someone else can not find beauty in it.
Music, to me, is something that can capture a moment in time and bring that moment in time back to all of your senses.
I think everyone has a song that sticks out in their past that reminded of them of a particular situation, that they would have not liked other wise. Right?
So, music, like art, is in the eye of the beholder.
Good night.
