Rock and roll is truly ‘world music’
As Rolling Stone magazine describes Low Cut Connie, “Imagine what indie rock might sound like were it invented in Alabama in the late Fifties.” It’s an apt portrayal, since both of its founders have such southern roots.
Of course, in the case of piano player Adam Weiner, those roots are in southern New Jersey, and for guitarist Dan Finnermore it’s the southern half of the United Kingdom — Birmingham, to be more exact. But hey, rock and roll is one of the American South’s great contributions to the world, right?

Well, you ain’t going to get me off on rock ‘n roll. I been thinking about my sister-in-law Maggie all week. I’m still steamed they made us buy a double grave plot for her. I kept telling them if they just laid the casket on its side she could fit in a single grave plot. She can’t be the only 540 lb. person they ever buried.
Anyhow, it reminds me life is short. And here’s one about life. It come out during my senior year in the 5th grade. Jim Ed Brown is still singing but his sisters don’t show up much anymore. Here they are together when they’re much older. Have a good weekend everybody. Me, I’m heading to Billy Bob’s in about a hour.

In case you have not noticed, I usually stay away from the Traveling Music thread. Not because I don’t like music, I truly love music except jazz where I align with, I believe it was Ron or was it Lewis, who stated it sounds like they are always tunning up. No, I usually stay away because by the time Friday afternoon rolls around and after debatting a bunch of Moonbats all week my patience is at end. That is the case today. True Story: My buddy, who has also been my bug guy for 10 years, loves my cooking and my soups. So every month when he’s coming by to spray he always asks what I’m making before he comes.
