Missives from the land of the birthers

I’m in the courtroom of Judge Michael Malihi, awaiting arguments in a case attempting to remove Barack Obama from the 2012 Georgia presidential ballot.

Roughly 100 people are in the courtroom, most of them older white Americans. The conversations are thick with various birthed theories being bandied about.

Dressed tastefully in black and wearing a pearl choker, The redoubtable Orly Taitz swept in a few minutes ago, making a star’s entrance amid whispers of “look, there she is!”

A bailiff has summoned attorneys for the plaintiffs and defendants into chambers for a pre-hearing conference. Since the Obama camp has decided to boycott the hearing, only the four plaintiffs’ attorneys, including Taitz, are in the session.

The plaintiffs have queued up a number of exhibits, including CBS and ABC videos reporting on Obama’s time in Indonesia. No sign of whether such exhibits will be allowed.

Can you clean up and post the below on my blog on an entry headlined “Missives ….?”

The judge called plaintiffs to chambers prior to hearing and stated a default judgement will be issued. Plaintiffs asked for their day in court to put the information they have on record. It will be recommended that Obama’s name is removed from Georgia ballots. Obama will need to sue Georgia and and the Secretary of State to be placed on the ballot. There is no appeal process to a higher court. It goes from OSAH to SOS

I don’t have time to rebut all of your nonsense. That would take too long so I’ll just tackle once. News flash Robert. OPEC sets the price for oil- not U.S. oil companies. A second news flash Robert. How much free or cheap oil are our oil companies getting from Iraq since you are asserting we went there for oil and of course the beneficiaries are U.S. oil companies. Please provide a link showing all that free or reduced oil U.S. oil companies are profiteering off of in Iraq.

Enough already. Of course there is an appeal process to a higher court (either to the Fulton County Superior Court or the U.S. District Court) and, in fact, in Georgia, Georgia Supreme Court case law makes it plain that the Secretary of State does not have the power to remove an individual from the ballot. That power is reserved to the parties. Also, if there was a default judgment entered before the hearing in chambers, there would be serious questions about judicial misconduct prior to presentation of some evidence to back up claims. Since hearings in chambers are confidential, I would be interested in real actual factual sources for such information.

No. OPEC sets the price for crude (as well as capacity/quota limits) sold by OPEC member nations. And it is widely known that some OPEC member nations routinely violate those price and quota limits.

Not even Brown Bears. But Lily White Polar Bears. They aren’t even American Bears (Alaska doesn’t count). Even more insidious these racist bears are the symbol of the Global Warming kerfuffle. What is a Polar Bear to you? A cute, cuddly, symbol of places where black folks don’t live. What are you to a Polar Bear: Lunch. Boycott the Super Bowl until Black Bears, Brown Bears, and, in honor of The Messiah, Panda Bears are used in commercials. Moreover, Polar Bears are carnivorous. They don’t eat veggies. So this is racism, lookism, and meatism. Warning to all of you: I don’t brake for Polar Bears.

Soothsayer,

Interesting article you posted. I enjoyed reading it. Thanks. I believe there is could be lot of truth in that article. Also the 2nd underlying theme is something I copied and posted below. The idea that our govt doesn’t mind running the country into the ground in terms of debt. We would watch the dollar crash and then just repay the old debt with cheaper, devalued dollars. That’s probably what concerns and ticks off our bankers the Chinese.

“That may not be a bad thing for the United States. The country’s gargantuan debts can never be repaid as long as the dollar maintains anything close to its current valuation. Given the state of the country, all that’s really left supporting the value in the dollar is its global reserve currency status. If that goes and the dollar slides, maybe the US will be able to repay its debts and start fresh. That new start would come without the privileges and ingrained subsidies to which Americans are so accustomed, but it’s amazing that the petrodollar system has lasted this long. It was only a matter of time before something would break it down”

On the issue of crude oil and OPEC setting the price. Their ability to set prices eroded during the 1990s due the emergence of the world oil market and oil’s position as a fungible commodity traded and retraded as futures. OPEC can try to control output but you get a better indication of world oil prices through the daily listings of the benchmarks for WTC (West Texas Crude) and the Brent indicator (based on North Sea oil). There is third one based in the middle east but the days of OPEC meeting and determining prices for world oil has ended. The global market, as it does in most things ,sets the prices traders are willing to pay through trades on the market..

Don’t know. Is Murdoch still hacking people’s voice mail? :D

“You’re not posting from Alaska are you?”

I’ve only set foot in Alaska once, Betty, and I didn’t even leave the airport. I should have tried the reindeer sausage on a bun at the snack bar, but I was a little queasy from turbulence and decided against it.

M. Betty — “lots of smilin’ going on in here today!”

Well, I think it’s kinda pleasant. Fortunately there’s aren’t any eff-you smileys; we’d be seeing those every day.

Soothsayer,

I’ve read several of your links and all of them with an open mind. Some of them I just don’t find credible. Some of them make some credible points but the entirety of the article does not convince me, and some of them like this one I find quite outstanding.

Thulsa Doom,

“They’re either in jail or at home at their daddy’s mansion reading their little Mao red books. ”

Or helping a church to avoid foreclosure.
“Five days later, thanks largely to a relentless grass roots campaign by Occupy activists, Johnson’s church was saved. BB&T, which had granted Higher Ground a substantial loan in 2007, agreed to sell the property back to the church at a reasonable price.”

Doom — “All those 20 somethings OWS protesters? They’re either in jail or at home at their daddy’s mansion reading their little Mao red books. Or perhaps they got tired of reading their mao book, the communist manifesto and such and decided to just get stoned.”

FWIW, I own copies of both (it’s actually called “Quotations of Chairman Mao” — ‘Little Red Book’ is the colloquial name for it) that I obtained when I was still voting on *your* side of the aisle. I figured it was worthwhile to know my enemy.

And I haven’t partaken of recreational pharmaceuticals once since I became a dirty unwashed Democrat. I had to be a cleanshaven, upstanding Republican in order to get high. :D

Steve – USA :
Is OWS still around? Never hear anything about them.

I don’t know.

Things appear to be in abeyance.

But in the long run, OWS is the tip of the iceberg. With vast complexes of factories in Chinese cities where workers live in dormitories and work 12 hr shifts for $17 dollars a day so that western corporations like Apple can clear huge profits and sit on the cash here in the states, will gradually destroy the middle class as we know it here. And both parties are corrupt and compromised.

So the mayors got hot under the collar last October. Well that was just the tip. They haven’t seen anything yet.
