Missives from the land of the birthers

I’m in the courtroom of Judge Michael Malihi, awaiting arguments in a case attempting to remove Barack Obama from the 2012 Georgia presidential ballot.

Roughly 100 people are in the courtroom, most of them older white Americans. The conversations are thick with various birthed theories being bandied about.

Dressed tastefully in black and wearing a pearl choker, The redoubtable Orly Taitz swept in a few minutes ago, making a star’s entrance amid whispers of “look, there she is!”

A bailiff has summoned attorneys for the plaintiffs and defendants into chambers for a pre-hearing conference. Since the Obama camp has decided to boycott the hearing, only the four plaintiffs’ attorneys, including Taitz, are in the session.

The plaintiffs have queued up a number of exhibits, including CBS and ABC videos reporting on Obama’s time in Indonesia. No sign of whether such exhibits will be allowed.

Can you clean up and post the below on my blog on an entry headlined “Missives ….?”

Gas Price per gl $1.79 $3.39 up

Oh geeezz, another one. You forgot to praise the anti-capitalist Obama for punching a hole in the capitalism ceiling.

http://www.usatoday.com/money/industries/energy/story/2011-12-31/united-states-export/52298812/1

In a first, gas and other fuels are top U.S. export

Measured in dollars, the nation is on pace this year to ship more gasoline, diesel, and jet fuel than any other single export, according to U.S. Census data going back to 1990. It will also be the first year in more than 60 that America has been a net exporter of these fuels.

[...]

The volume of fuel exports is rising. The U.S. is using less fuel because of a weak economy and more efficient cars and trucks. That allows refiners to sell more fuel to rapidly growing economies in Latin America, for example. In 2011, U.S. refiners exported 117 million gallons per day of gasoline, diesel, jet fuel and other petroleum products, up from 40 million gallons per day a decade earlier.

There’s at least one domestic downside to America’s growing role as a fuel exporter. Experts say the trend helps explain why U.S. motorists are paying more for gasoline. The more fuel that’s sent overseas, the less of a supply cushion there is at home.

However, knowing the rationale level of your posts, I’m pretty sure you’re just waiting to give that praise to the House GOP. Anybody with a brain knows that the president doesn’t control that stuff any more than you or I do.

Well, the Good Lord took that problem away from me as the years went by. It’s kinda the opposite of the story about the 98-year-old-man that went to see his Dr. and told the Dr. “I’m getting married to this 26-year-old woman.” The Dr. looked at him real serious and said, “I must tell you, this could be fatal.” The geezer said, “Well, Doc, if she dies, she dies.”

Yes, for the second time this week, Newt showed that his debate skills are massively overrated, particularly his ability to attack an opponent with clear vulnerabilities. And Mitt Romney demonstrated exactly how to go about carving up an overmatched opponent. This time, not even having a noisy audience to appeal to could save the former Speaker. Several times over the course of the debate, Romney hit Newt hard, and Newt sputtered around and couldn’t find an effective response. On immigration, on Freddie Mac and on Romney’s investments, Newt couldn’t find an exchange that worked for him. The final blow was a long (long, long) segment about space, and Newt’s easily-mocked plan for a lunar colony, which Romney effectively dismissed — and called Gingrich out on pandering to the narrow interests of each state they’ve competed in. It’s sometimes hard to read how these things play to voters, but I thought it all combined to be pretty devastating. Intrade agreed: Newt’s chances of winning the nomination according to the bettors there went from about 10% down to around 3% over the course of the debate. Regular readers know I feel that’s still too high.

so, for all those “Newt will clean Obama’s clock folks” … umm … evidently not so much!

Also, in the one case it hads they ruled that John McCain was a natural born US citizen and met the requirements ffor the presidency.

And if this case reaches the Supreme Court they will rule the same way again.”

To Jconservative: SCOTUS has never ruled that BHO is a natural born citizen. In every case to come before them they have declined to hear it based on the issue of the petitioners standing. This is not the same thing as ruling BHO is a natural born citizen. Further, they’ve never ruled on any issue pertaining to John McCain. The only body to reference McCain’s citizenship was Congress when it issued a nonbinding resolution that he was indeed natural born.

Yes, McCain was born in the Canal zone but as mentioned before, SCOTUS has never ruled on his citizenship. And yes, the Constitution says what SCOTUS says it says…and they said in Minor V. Happersett that a natural born citizen is someone born in the US to citizen parents. Therefore, BHO is not, as SCOTUS defines it, a natural born citizen.

Obama himself said that when someone is keeping a secret, they must have something to hide.
