What was that saying…you can put lipstick on a pig but it’s still a pig??
oooo … is that the Fisher building? been in there once – absolutely astounding
October 21st, 201110:54 am
I came for the huge crowd…..oops!
October 21st, 201110:56 am
His one economists looks like a real winner. Not.
Anyhoo, when CNN runs a OWS story for the 36th day, a big smile crosses my face and I beam ear to ear.
The American awakening is the story of the year.
God Bless the 99 % of the real American people.

grumbling about internet filters at work.. guess i should get back to it..
October 21st, 201110:58 am
Why is this important, I mean Perry is fixing to enliven us with his 666 plan sometime this weekend.
And then Michelle Bachmann’s economic plan ,which is to turn all the gay people to straight which somehow magically leads to more job creation.
stands for decibels
You’re kinda mean sometimes, Jay.
(And don’t ever change.)
Bookman, more Hating on the Black man, huh.
What’s the matter Jay? Can’t handle a black man who thinks for himself???
Jay, embrace diversity! Don’t be scared of it.
October 21st, 201110:59 am
I think at least half of that crowd must be media.
October 21st, 201111:00 am
USMC: Can’t handle a black man who thinks for himself???
He doesn’t think for himself.
GG – compare and contrast
October 21st, 201111:01 am
“He doesn’t think for himself.”
going by some of his recent interviews, I’d say he doesn’t always think … full stop.
No love from Detroit.
They know he is not a serious candidate.
Depressingly accurate appraisal of “How the Austerity Class Rules Washington.”
I can only hope an invigorated OWS movement presenting an actual opposition to this psychopathy, the austerians won’t rule for much longer.
October 21st, 201111:02 am
Whole lotta “swallowing anything ” going on….
Matti's Rapture Time?
October 21st, 201111:04 am
Exactly HOW is offering a portal for us to view Mr. Cain’s live public speech “hating on the black man?”
Are you having flashbacks or something? Shall we call the VA to come fetch you back to rehab? Bless your heart.
USinUK: going by some of his recent interviews, I’d say he doesn’t always think
That was going to be my followup, darn you!
Well, minus the “always” qualifier. On purpose.
Herman Cain LIVE from the Motor City. Holding out for an encore performance of “Imagine There’s No Pizza”
Herman Cain updates his 9-9-9 Plan. Adds free garlic bread.
October 21st, 201111:05 am
The great thing about Republicans is the more they talk the dumber they sound. The clock’s ticking on Herman he’ll soon be relegated to the dustbin of minority Republicans along with J.C. Watts, Mel Martinez, Michael Steele and Bobby Jindal. Bye Bye Herm, Can’t say it hasn’t been fun.
Glenn Beck just reported that there are 100,000 people there…
9+9+9 = 27 = estimated crowd at speech.
October 21st, 201111:06 am
stands: I keep thinking the Republicans are now in their Custer’s Last Stand moment. Ignoring history and glorifying bad principles seems to lead straight to repeating history where instead of changing with the times, the times roll you over.
They will be left in the corner weeping, holding their Reagan dolls and sobbing into them “you still love me, don’t you Ronnie?”
gop blocks the President’s job bill again so his strategy is playing out beautifully.
October 21st, 201111:07 am
“9+9+9 = 27 = estimated crowd at speech.”
Jay – you win the internets for that one.
October 21st, 201111:08 am
“Glenn Beck just reported that there are 100,000 people there…”
well, when you include the voices in Glenn Beck’s head, it’s possible …
Wandering around Cain for President found this
Phase 2 – The Fair Tax
Amidst a backdrop of the economic renewal created by the 9-9-9 Plan, I will begin the process of educating the American people on the benefits of continuing the next step to the Fair Tax.
Will Boortz get a cut?
getalife: Not if those that caucus with Dems keep peeling off. I really don’t get this whole “Let’s just stop it from coming to the floor” vote thing, mostly because I get why ALL the Republicans want to grind government to a screeching halt, but NOT the Democrats. Must be because they know the public doesn’t understand this isn’t really a vote.
I wonder if the FEC is going to look into that purchase of his books by the campaign. I dont know if anyone remembers this , but didnt Jim Wright have to give the Speaker’s chair for something like that ?

9% National Sales Tax.
Unlike a state sales tax, which is an add-on tax that increases the price of goods and services, this is a replacement tax. It replaces taxes that are already embedded in selling prices. By replacing higher marginal rates in the production process with lower marginal rates, marginal production costs actually decline, which will lead to prices being the same or lower, not higher.
Bolded phrase by me…..
He thinks companies are really gonna do that?
…and they’re all homeless…heh, heh

9 toppings ,
on 9 pizzas,
for 9 bucks
what a deal !!!
Normal – they’re all hoping he brought pizza
Keep Up the Good Fight!
Ahhh…. little orphan Cain… the sun will come out while I speak tomorrow……
October 21st, 201111:12 am
October 21st, 201111:14 am
And y’all thought Little Cesars had him beat ………………
NO! NO!! i say.
He comes roaring back with his 999 plan.
I don’t care who your are, that’s funny right there.
Couldn’t find anything about 9-0-9 on his website
and didn’t really get what he said…(sound quality mostly)
Anybody catch anything?
October 21st, 201111:15 am
I’m not an Obama fan, but the GOP REALLY needs to step up their game if they have ANY hope of regaining the Whitehouse. I look back on the debates between Kennedy and Nixon, Reagan and Carter, Bush and Clinton, and NONE of the supposed Republican saviors are even close. My God, could you imagine Herman Cain spouting this line of garbage while trying to beat out Reagan or Bush 1? And the fact that he’s the leading GOP candidate just boggles the mind!
October 21st, 201111:16 am
Jay Bookman getting snarky!!!
Couldn’t find anything about 9-0-9 on his website
Here’s a pretty decent explanation.
October 21st, 201111:17 am
Boortz said he was leaning towards Romney.
@ Mr. Bookman and USinUK,
October 21st, 201111:18 am
GG – “Boortz said he was leaning towards Romney.”
now, isn’t THAT a mental picture …
not must specificity but good to dance too!

Michigan is Dominos’ country. The Godfather is wasting his time, there.
Memo from Ghadaffi – Sometimes it’s bad to be the 1% with all the money and all the toys.
October 21st, 201111:21 am
Butch @ 11.15, I don’t doubt that Mittens will do fine as a general election candidate when he’s nominated. He’s made all the rookie mistakes in 2008 (and all those other times he’s run for office) and so far, in 2011, he’s had very few missteps.
Put another way, it’s not like he’s actually done much of anything since 1/2007 *but* run for office, so he oughta be pretty good at it by now.
October 21st, 201111:22 am
“Boortz said he was leaning towards Romney.”
I’ll bet Romney’s thinking…”damn”
October 21st, 201111:24 am
@Granny Godzilla you must work for the government… Have you ever worked in a competitive environment in your life? In a competitive business environment prices always drop – electronics, lasik surgery, cars, airlines, etc. There is always an astute business person that can find a way to do it better at a lower cost. It sad that the leftist mindset is so blind to the way the world works.
@Adam – so you call this democrat movement the past 4 years a success? I’d hate to see what you think economic failure is.
I thought the last column was top of the line, this one is ok. I do not follow Herman Cain. He has had no political experience. The last candidate for President with no political experience was Dwight Isenhower. Would any body want a Dr. with no experience operating? Exactly the same with Herman Cain, no experience and commander in chief.I can not even think of an unteseted candiate with out a scintila of experience. It reminds me of JFK giving Bobby Kennedy the job of Attorney General right out of law school, I have said it all.
October 21st, 201111:25 am
No one in Detroit cares because they don’t pay any taxes (except to their unions).
you guys are just mean. I have a cold and it hurts when I laugh
American Crossroads, the big money GOP group founded by Karl Rove, is warning Republicans that President Obama’s new campaign to raise taxes on millionaires is a political winner.
“It may be the result of larger environmental conditions, or he may be moving the needle himself, but Obama’s ‘tax the rich’ mantra is getting traction,” the group’s director, Steven Law, wrote in a memo. “Our poll found that 64% favor raising taxes on people with incomes above $200,000.”
October 21st, 201111:26 am
Cain this morning on Imus. Said 999 would bring in more $.
What happened to the pledge of no tax increases?
Or is that promise only for millionaires?
October 21st, 201111:27 am
methinks Moonbat Betty needs to get out a little more
October 21st, 201111:28 am
Actually I broke through the class ceiling at a fortune 100 company before I was 40.
They are still raising prices annually…..sometimes more frequently.
October 21st, 201111:31 am
get ready to watch Moonbat Betty’s mind get blown:
MICHIGAN IS A NET TAX DONOR STATE
October 21st, 201111:32 am
Romney – not ‘damn.’
Maybe we can get him hooked on ‘frak.’
October 21st, 201111:34 am
There is always an astute business person that can find a way to do it better at a lower cost.
…by getting politicians to cut unemployment insurance payments. I’m not sure “astute” is the word I’d use. Maybe the first part.
October 21st, 201111:35 am
“Memo from Ghadaffi – Sometimes it’s bad to be the 1% with all the money and all the toys.”
Somehow I never see you mock Obama for changing things, even though every change he makes seems to make things worse, yet when Cain changes his plan to make it even better, you mock.
Is that the best you can do, Jay? Mock those you disagree with?
October 21st, 201111:38 am
Traction? It’s a joke and entertaining… That’s it’s traction. The arguements they present have absolutely NO FACTS! NONE! Its just a bunch of ‘I want,” they say, blame them puppetry hocus pocus.
Don’t mind that $700Billion before, We only need $350Billion from those people! Let’s Discriminate!!! No, It’s okay to do that now bc we are 99%… whatever that means. How accurate is that anyway?
“Mock those you disagree with?”
Says the man who is constantly mocking Obama.
Physician! Heal thyself!!
It just blows my mind that the 99 % cons continue to blindly fight for the 1 %.
And the same folks think their arguments are intelligent and logical.
It just does not pass the common sense test.
October 21st, 201111:39 am
Now Jimmy, don’t be petulant…
Changing things to emphasize drone ops and killing 2200 in less than 2 years makes things worse?
October 21st, 201111:41 am
“It just blows my mind that the 99 % cons continue to blindly fight for the 1 %.”
It blows our mind that you repeat yourself more than a mynah bird on a daily basis.
October 21st, 201111:43 am
Jimmy62: The only plan change I will accept is one where he changes it to, at a minimum: “We’re not changing the rates but we are eliminating ALL loopholes.”
That would be more fair than FairTax, flat tax, or 9-9-9 (all the same thing)
October 21st, 201111:45 am
So did Herman “I was too young to participate in the Civil Rights movement” Cain artfully articulate his awesomely amazing vision on how to screw the Middle Class even more?
October 21st, 201111:47 am
Try to get it to sink in your brainwashed minds.
It does not make sense.
Prove me wrong geo.
October 21st, 201111:48 am
“So did Herman “I was too young to participate in the Civil Rights movement” Cain artfully articulate his awesomely amazing vision on how to screw the Middle Class even more?”
No, he pulled an obama and promised them all free pizza parties for the next 4 years if they would vote for him.
He wins in a landslide in Michigan.
October 21st, 201111:50 am
So, since no one showed up at Cain’s rally, they took the feed off-line?
“President Barack Obama’s 11th quarter in office was the worst of his administration, based on his quarterly average job approval ratings. His 41% approval average is down six percentage points from his 10th quarter in office, and is nearly four points below his previous low of 45% during his seventh quarter. These results are based on Gallup Daily tracking from July 20-Oct. 19, 2011.”
Hopey/Changey needs another bus tour.
October 21st, 201111:52 am
So betty, he didn’t even flesh out that $9.99 skeleton?
Wasn’t that the entire point of his photo-op charade?
The one that no one attended and even less give credibility to?
Geo has no worthwhile defense of the indefensible so he makes silly personal attacks.
What he desperately doesn’t want to know has been spelled out over and over again, in great detail.
But it matters not.
Redneck Convert (R--and proud of it)
October 21st, 201111:53 am
Well, what’s not to like about this guy—besides the fact that he ain’t White? He’s against abortion but thinks the guvmint should stay out of it and it should be a woman’s choice. He’s got a tax plan where hardly nobody gets a raise in taxes. I tell you, except for that dark skin, we got a winner here.
Which means he’s a goner. He’s the Harold Stassen of modern politics. We ain’t going to stand still for satisfying everybody. We want blood at the polls. We want to thrash our enemas.
Have a good lunch everybody.
October 21st, 201111:54 am
Need facts to be valid. Thanks for the statement.
My current income is not just aware to me. I’m fine working hard, owning my house, two cars, petting my dog, going to the lake tomorrow, insured across the board for peace of mind… I’m in control of me and my family… So just call us the .000001% or something.
Honestly, if the 1% pays up. If you were on the bottom end I’d just give money away to fall into the 2%… right? Or just move my junk overseas and be done with this crap.
The movement I see wants what THEY have. How is that gonna benefit you? Do you know? Does anyone really think these taxes will individually benefit them? Take care of yourself…
October 21st, 201111:56 am
I like his sense of humor and how he punked the cons into believing he is serious.
Not that it is hard to do.
“Imagine there is no pizza” is a classic.
Hopey Changey should be on the short bus. Union/Government employment is the only real solution to create jobs..
Yet another Repub lie………………..
Funny how Repubs have trouble with facts .
“Hopey/Changey needs another bus tour.”
–paid for by the tax payers of couse.
that is until he starts collecting his on-line campaign donations where he will accumulate millions of dollars in campaign contributions from businesses and citizens from around the world.
October 21st, 201111:58 am
That would be sync.
I have no idea what you talking about but you are the 99 %.
If you admit, nothing will happen.
Honesty does not hurt anyone.
Take care .

Who cares when his parents came to America?!
How about Obama’s $500BILLION gamble on EVs with Fisker only to have them take the money to Finland…
Story surfacing today http://nymag.com/daily/intel/2011/10/obama_fisker_finland_jobs.html
Where is our own presidents Accountability? I’m just guessing how many of these were wrapped in The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act… Did anyone benefit personally?
October 21st, 201112:07 pm
“It just blows my mind that the 99 % cons continue to blindly fight for the 1 %.”
It blows my mind that Jay Bookman and his minions EXPECT the government to take care if them. There are NO guarantees in life, people. You can take care of yourself.
Go get a job or start your own business with your God given abilities!
October 21st, 201112:08 pm
Obama is even using Bush’s 2004 campaign strategy. He’s hardly an original thinker, is he? When all else fails, fall back on a bush.
Can Obama 2012 Replicate Bush 2004?
Oh yeah they did show 1 person that did.
Leonardo Dicaprio received the first car. He far into the 1% so forget him right?! He needs to pay his Fair Share!!!!

Gotta love the threats of violence. The Left is soooooooooooooo peaceful, open-minded and tolerant.
I wonder which side is more likely to riot of they lose the election. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Yet, you have no problem with government taking care of the wealthy all these years.
It does not make sense con.
October 21st, 201112:10 pm
Uh ohh, Acer. Granny’s gonna whip out MediaMatters on you! That’s her bible, you know.
Acer, your little Finland story has already been debunked. Try the prior thread…. then come back when you have educated yourself on the truth, otay?

Sorry for all the typos. Eating Hungarian Czabj and blogging is not a good idea
October 21st, 201112:12 pm
Again, try honesty.
It will not hurt you but lying destroys your credibility and we can’t believe a word you say like the other cons.
