I’m thinking Sen. Scott Brown is going to be in for an entertaining and illuminating fight to retain his seat:
September 21st, 20116:22 pm
I like her!
September 21st, 20116:24 pm
Oh Jay you sappy liberal you.
September 21st, 20116:26 pm
Short-sighted Republican leaders shoulda confirmed her to run the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau –
See what happens when you get led around by that ideology ring in your nose?
Redneck Convert (R--and proud of it)
Well, I got no dog in this fight. It’s one librul against another librul. It’s not like what we have here in GA: one conservative against another conservative. I just look for the letter after the name. That tells me who to vote for.
OK, back to Fox News for me.
September 21st, 20116:27 pm
“You take a hunk of that and pay for the next…”
I’ll bet Ayn Rand is spinning in her grave, but that might just be the leftover amphetimines.
September 21st, 20116:28 pm
Great, the Dems found a leader.
September 21st, 20116:29 pm
One of those unintended consequences thingies.
But it’s possible that they would prefer that she be an elected official rather than a Czarina.
How to ruin an economy and bankrupt a nation.
1. Pass Gramm(R)-Leach(R)-Bliley(R) Act which repeals Glass-Steagall Act in place since Great Depression effectively turning banks into Wall Street casinos and placing everyone’s deposits at risk.
2. Declare that budget surplus inherited from previous President is “proof” that Americans are “overtaxed” and immediately pass tax cuts for the richest Americans.
3. Engineer dubious “false-flag” (made to appear done by another country) “psy-op” (psychological operation) designed gin up anti-Muslim sentiment and offer entrée to war (9/11).
4. Use lies and deception to involve America in war. (Weapons of mass destruction, yellow cake, Nigeria, aluminum tubes, etc.)
5. Involve America in two costly never-ending wars with no real declared objective.
6. Pass series of disastrous “free trade” bills that devastate domestic industry causing millions of Americans to lose their jobs.
7. Pass changes to tax code that actually encourage corporations to move entire industries to foreign countries.
8. Pass costly unfunded Medicare part D Big Pharma giveaway, which contains provisions that prevent bargaining with Giant Pharmaceutical companies for lower prices.
9. Relax mortgage-lending standards and reduce interest rates to encourage overheated housing market.
10. Practice laissez-faire attitude towards brokerage houses who bet ultra-leveraged derivates against housing market (i.e., that it will fail).
11. Construct multi-trillion dollar giveaway to Wall Street firms and then blame successor on “bail outs.”
12. Hand off economy to successor with $1.2 trillion+ dollar/yr deficits.
13. Block any and all efforts by successor to turn economy around or reduce deficits.
14. Blame successor on deficits.
Yessir! We’re runnin’ on our record!
Keep Up the Good Fight!
That woman is kicking some arse!

GA democrats were pretty conservative folks. But they chucked that flag, and the populace yelled out for justice: “off with their heads” and there went Barnes & Murphy and almost all other democrats not of a darker shade.
Jay – you may have access to this knowledge: What does a typical factory worker make in a typical factory in China?
September 21st, 20116:34 pm
sooth – mostly accurate – but, Obama had 2 years with a full democrat congress – missed opportunity & squandered stimulus – which indicated to me he did not know what was going on.
Maybe we’ll see Sen Brown break ranks with the orthodox and ultracon Republicans in Congress. He may have to if he has any chance at all of telling his constituents “that’s not me… here’s my record…”
September 21st, 20116:36 pm
“you may have access to this knowledge: What does a typical factory worker make in a typical factory in China?”
Enough to live a typical life in a typical town in China?
Tried to warn ‘em, but they wouldn’t listen…when 65% of a population takes a certain position and you take the opposing…well…and what did we get for their huff and puff? The OFFICIAL flag of the Richmond slavocracy…!
But, enough of that…don’t want to rile the Imam after he WAS kind enough to give us whiners a more interesting topic and the subject of the Late Misunderstanding didn’t have to be brought up…
About 75 cents an hour for a factory worker, Paddy.
September 21st, 20116:37 pm
What does a typical factory worker make in a typical factory in China?
If only there was a search engine that was capable of answering questions….
Senator Brown looks better with his clothes off…mo transparency!
September 21st, 20116:38 pm
okay Kam, you win the coolest post of the day with that.
Even though she has them, facts don’t matter. She has aggressive rhetoric. Maybe she’ll fight fire with fire.
Changing the tone in Washington isn’t working. Put down the carrot and pick up a big, big stick. Obama should take note.
the guy with the factory IS PAYING. He is paying for the road & education of the brats currently, not paying forward. Taxing ANYBODY over 25% of their income is distinct BS. But, she is a MASS liberal. She really thinks that society was integral in the creation of that wealth. WRONG. It was the individual with the intelligence & drive to create that factory & hire the right people to operate it.
September 21st, 20116:40 pm
Mr_B: “I’ll bet Ayn Rand is spinning in her grave, but that might just be the leftover amphetimines.”
You mean they buried her?
I thought surely they had her embalmed body on view somewhere –Stalin- and Lenin-like — for all the acolytes like Paul Ryan to come admire.
The Leg Lamp is a “major award”….
Can someone please provide me a copy of the “social contract” she mentions towards the end?
Oh, that’s just someone’s opinion, right?
OK, Obama had 2 years – why did he NOT repeal the medicare prescription? Why not leave Iraq? Liberals can’t get over their complicity in the wars. They had 2 years to fix these problems, failed, then failed with the poorly targeted stimulus, further exasperating the countries deficit problem. If you vote for this fool, you get what you asked for.
September 21st, 20116:41 pm
Troy Davis is moments away from the sticky prick…
Hey hey Gooood Bye !!!
September 21st, 20116:42 pm
September 21st, 2011
You left out Dodd-Frank, Sarbanes-Oxley and a few others.
Paul – you really think that is the system in a communist country?
Even Obama says we need to help small businesses by getting rid of stupid and cumbersome regulations and yet the ideologues like JAY BOOKMAN slander the big, bad, evil “Repuglicans” with the usual banter and bluster.
Obama: There Are Regulations Holding Back American Job Creators
How many democrats voted for Medicare D?
September 21st, 20116:43 pm
So, how do you respond to her point of where those “right people” came from? Who paid for their education? What about those roads to ship the product to market? Society WAS integral in the creation of that wealth.
Interesting! So if what you say is true, then the individual with the intelligence & drive can create that factory in Somalia and enjoy the SAME level of success that he did here? The society that provides educated workers, infrastructure, and consumers who can afford the products are irrelevant? Is that what you’re saying? Hmmm…. Good to know!
Are the democrats ready to overturn Medicare D? After all, it must not have helped those in need because she said it only benefited the drug companies. She said it so it must be true.
What a concept! Except that they already do.
“You don’t have to worry about marauding bands taking your things . . .”
Yes you do. We call them “liberals”.
And let’s not forget the blame game. No wonder Jay thinks she’s some shining star.
September 21st, 20116:44 pm
kamchak, you have too much faith in google.
Sarah Palin is much hotter.
And smarter too.
It was the individual with the intelligence & drive to create that factory & hire the right people to operate it.
As long as they also got the right state economic incentives like property tax holidays, tax credits, etc…… in addition to those roads, security, port subsidies, etc.
Give the Kennedy seat back to the LIBS because there will be plenty of seats to be taken by the Repugs!
Both houses of Congress will go Repuglican, regardless.
September 21st, 20116:45 pm
The gop are trying to shutdown government again.
They should go home and leave our government running.
The President needs a new house.
“About 75 cents an hour for a factory worker, Paddy.”
Don’t forget meals in the company chow hall and lodging in the company barracks.
Her kind of talk scares the crap out of “people” like the Koch boys and their brainwashed minions.
September 21st, 20116:46 pm
September 21st, 2011
I was going to be “generi”c and say politicians, but I believe your take is more “name brand”.
What are you asking? If I think a typical worker lives a typical life in a typical village in a communist country? Really? That’s what you’re asking?
Social contract = Social justice = Marism = Obama and his minions
September 21st, 20116:47 pm
our culture created a platform for motivated people to succeed. rule of law, english mercantilism, etc, etc. But to pretend that the wealthy guy should kick in a higher % then everybody else because he has more floating around is nothing more than liberal manure, wealth envy. Our problem is too much worthless spending.
September 21st, 2011
Heeeeey, haiku man. Here’s one:
Mexican food with extra hot sause
Rumble down below.
Supremes turn down the cop killer’s appeal.
Bummer for the lib ilk.
September 21st, 20116:48 pm
Do you really think that the typical citizen in a communist country controls his destiny?
September 21st, 20116:49 pm
I feel ilky after reading f’s drivel.
You really think the typical chinese want to toil in a factory day after day? with little options and less ability at upward mobility? how many unions have been established in China?
So the Democratic candidate says ‘hey factory owner, you didn’t do it on your own, you’re part of society and you fulfill your responsibilities thru taxes”
and the righties here respond with, oh yes the factory owner did too do it on his own!!!
Do I have that right?
September 21st, 20116:50 pm
getalife – me too. I thought they really need to commute his sentence. killing anybody is nothing to be proud of – certainly not a Christian value.
Peadawg - Troy Davis should NOT be executed
September 21st, 2011
Is she saying these people DON’T pay their taxes?
September 21st, 20116:51 pm
the righties here say don’t kill the goose with the golden egg, as liberals here obviously have (otherwise why would so much be built in china & wastefully shipped to the US?)
They are the” let them die” party.
You know why she’s so effective.
Because she talks like a teacher, not like a politician. She attempts to spread information and insight, not obscure it.
I’m still waiting for someone to provide me with a copy of the “social contract” she alluded to.
Don’t cry over spilled ilk.
September 21st, 20116:52 pm
Leave Sinkwich alone…we idle rich need somebody to fetch and tote for us!
“Useful idiot” is often used as a pejorative term for those who are seen to unwittingly support a malignant cause through their ‘naive’ attempts to be a force for good.
In political jargon, the term useful idiot was used to describe Soviet sympathizers in Western countries. The implication is that though the person in question naïvely thinks themselves an ally of the Soviets or other ideologies, they are actually held in contempt by the Soviets, and were being cynically used.
September 21st, 2011
I didn’t realize you thought “information” and “rhetoric” meant the same thing?
that is this lady’s assertion – that they are PAYING no taxes, no? No property tax, no sales tax, no excise taxes. they are the parasites of the US, these factory owners.
September 21st, 20116:53 pm
First you ask me if a typical factory worker in China lives a typical life there.
Now you ask if I think he wants the job? Or a union?
Goal posts move every time you realize how silly the prior question was? (they’re not getting any better. And they don’t have much of a point regarding this thread).
September 21st, 2011
Are you refering to Democrats and abortion?
jay – if you were 12 years old her blather would be captivating.
September 21st, 20116:54 pm
If she talks like a teacher, she’s bound to lose…nobody listens to teachers!
Where’s her quote to that effect, Paddy?
“Because she talks like a teacher, not like a politician.”
Fitting into the “liberals are so much smarter than the rest of you slobs” meme.
“She attempts to spread information and insight, not obscure it.”
What she’s spreading isn’t insight, Jay. Just typical bulls#it.
I did like where she said Medicare D cost more than 40% more than what was projected. Bet you she’s in for a shock when she sees the tab of Obamacare.
September 21st, 20116:55 pm
the key question was: do they control their own destiny in a communist country (remember, they have controlled reproduction in China – so contemplate your answer carefully – it was not I who so cavalierly stated that the Chinese are just so happy with their current life).
I do not believe she is saying they do not pay their taxes. I believe she’s providing some context for the ‘job creator’ rhetoric.
Mark in mid-town
September 21st, 20116:56 pm
The Medicare drug program under George Bush did not have taxes raised to pay for it. Neither were the Democrats proposing that there be new taxes to pay for their competing Medicare drug plan whose cost was estimated to be tens of billions of more dollars than the plan passed under Bush.
If she’s a teacher then she’s probably in a mandated union.
Is she not postulating that the factory owner is NOW not paying taxes, or at least, not his fair share? Is that not profound BS?
September 21st, 20116:57 pm
Liberals may not be so much smarter, but that any dumber than the other side…
So Warren hates business…yawn. How is she any different than The Won? And all you other lib ilk around here?
September 21st, 2011
So business owners don’t create jobs?
You know what I’d like to hear from her – what is her estimate of what those evil, greedy companies need to pay in order to comply with the “social contract” she mentioned. Nice sound bite, but it is probably expensive (like most Democrat rhetoric).
September 21st, 20116:58 pm
Is she not postulating that the factory owner is NOW not paying taxes, or at least, not his fair share?
The job creator rhetoric is accurate. The folks who can’t go to college (about 55% of the population) need factory jobs. Liberals wish to soak the wealthy, who are far more likely to create desirable jobs. This soaking makes them less interested in operating a factory here in the US – just ask Jeff Immelt.
No, then what is the gripe about?
September 21st, 20116:59 pm
What? Kyle is back and Dave R is still posting here so far “below” his station……..
So Warren hates business…yawn.
So, you didn’t click on the link.
September 21st, 20117:00 pm
My assertion is just tax all at the same rate, with the standard deduction and standard exemption.
Mark, the Dems wanted to let government negotiate drug prices with Big Pharma, which would have lowered costs considerably.
My lights just dimmed a little.
I see some smoke. Did we just elect a Pope?
I’ll check the AJC tomorrow morning.
September 21st, 20117:01 pm
“I did like where she said Medicare D cost more than 40% more than what was projected”
You may not have intended it as such, but this is just like the other day where Pres Obama said one thing on taxes, then the Republican machine launched with a bunch of talking points addressing things he never said. They attempted to shift the debate from what he said (which they did not want to engage) to their usual talking points.
Ms. Warren did not say “Medicare D cost more than 40% more than what was projected.” It actually costs less than projected. That even came out in the Republican debates.
Ms Warren said it costs 40 percent more than it needs to cost because of provisions favorable to drug companies.
September 21st, 20117:02 pm
If Troy gets executed, how can the left pin in on “the rich”?
Steve - USA
Maybe someone should explain to her that factories pay County property tax bills that contributes to Firemen, Police and Schools.
September 21st, 20117:04 pm
September 21st, 2011
Let me guess, you’re talking about “moving goalposts”, right? That seems to be a favorite of yours.
Did any patients actually benefit from Medicare D? (I was against it by the way).
Georgia doesn’t use the electric chair by the way.
factories pay County property tax bills that contributes to Firemen, Police and Schools.
Well except when they get tax holidays from property tax bills from state or other sources.
Paddy O: “it was the individual with the intelligence & drive to create that factory & hire the right people to operate it.”
I don’t know about intelligence, but I’ll give you drive. And that’s fine. Let them do the work they do for less reward. If what they do is so noble and wonderful, why aren’t they willing to do all that work without the promise of such lavish monetary rewards, even to the point of forcing others to do without. (Could it be it’s because they’re really exploiters more than saints?)
By the way, does it ever strike you as odd that we bend over backwards to bribe these so-called “job creators” with this or that tax advantage, for fear they won’t hire people? Doesn’t that kind of bribery sound odd to you? Why not we want to build our prosperity on that type of arrangement and not just get rid of these people altogether and put people in charge who have the interests of others than themselves in mind?
September 21st, 20117:05 pm
“So business owners don’t create jobs?”
Where did THAT come from? Is that one of those obligatory talking points lines?
I think it a fair question. Just what IS the rate she proposes?
But if she says “What Pres Obama has suggested, if your AGI is above $379,150 the marginal rate rises frm 35% to 39%” you can bet Republicans will never, ever, never address that.
Over 200 regulations yet to be issued for Obamacare.
Over 200 regulations yet to be issued for Dodd- Frank.
All to be issued by BHO’s Marxist Czars.
No sir…no uncertainty around here. Just move along.
September 21st, 20117:06 pm
Unbelievable! What a DELUSIONAL woman! LOL!
“The Social Contract…???? Said like good little Bolshevik:
September 21st, 20117:07 pm
Brown will probably win but who knows
Operation twist is going to be a big big failure
September 21st, 20117:08 pm
“Did any patients actually benefit from Medicare D?”
Are you asking, are there elderly people who have too much to qualify for Medicaid but too little to pay for all the drugs their doctors think they need, who got more drugs because of Medicare D?
I’ll guess “yup.”
Buoyed by aggressive speculative trading on volatile energy markets, the Koch brothers accumulated $15 billion in wealth since March 2010, a 43 percent increase.
Your oil dollars at work!
