Mick, since your reading comprehension is lacking in so many ways, I’ll just reiterate your mistakes again for your edification.
The chart was debunked not once, not twice, but three times. And with facts each and every time. That you don’t wish to recognize the facts doesn’t mean they do not exist. That you don’t know squat about statistical analysis isn’t my problem, it is yours. That you cannot use comparative logic is not my problem, it is yours.
As to the poll, you asked for a cite (your mistake in that regard) to my response to your contention that the Tea Party was a small minority of the GOP (I said they had national support of between 30% and 40%). Since libs like you live and die by polls, I figured I’d use something even you might understand; a poll showing that 33% of Americans support the Tea Party principles. YOUR only problem with that poll is that it provided exactly what you asked for (a cite – a poll being acceptable by even our host as proof) that disproved the point you were trying to make and made mine exactly.

In the meantime, try thinking about how any chart could be valid when you assign a dollar value to a “policy” begun by a particular President (Bush) and give the entire cost of that program to that President when assigning deficit spending.
That would be like assigning all the continuing deficit costs of New Deal policies to FDR and the Great Society policy deficits to LBJ.

Anybody having problems with google? I think its broke because every time I google President Obama’s specific plans on his deficit reduction plan nothing comes up. I could google other stuff but when I then tried to google the Democratic led Senate’s budget plans for this year, the year before, and the year before that nothing comes up. Dave R. is not my buddy. We disagree often and on quite a few things. I’m merely suggesting that you quit bringing up that ridiculous chart so that he will quit blasting you. The statistical flaws in that chart are so ridiculous that its hard to fathom someone placing credibility in them. I pointed out the same flaw that Dave pointed out in his 9:40 post. There’s nothing delusional about that obvious point. Still haven’t seen a credible response to that simple point.
And I don’t think you have room to talk about insults. You’ve lobbed them daily at me with no provocation whatsoever. I don’t think it was that long ago that a similar thing happened. About a year ago or less keep and one of the cons had words and were going to meet at Starbucks at Northpoint mall to ahem, say something to someone’s face. The conservative of course got banned and keep of course got to stay on. The guy wanted to have a conversation in the parking lot and keep of course wanted to meet in the mall at a starbucks.
The worst I’ve had was that I told Debbiedoright that water boarding is sure as hell unpleasant but that its not torture on the scale of gouging eyes out, cutting off hands, noses, ears, etc. Her response was that she challenged me to let her and some friends water board me as part of a charity to raise money. I said cool. Bring it on and told her that I had a charity I do on St. Patty’s day every year and that we could combine the 2. My charity raises money for children’s cancer research at Children’s cancer center. I put no stipulations on it. And of course she never followed up. She also threatened another time to have some brothers shoot me up with Tec-9s after they collectively kick my arse. Nice gal she is.

I’m cool with that. If you have a comment to make to me in the future I can handle some good natured ribbing but if its a kamchak kind of comment than of course I fight fire with fire. Otherwise I’m respectful of people who are respectful of me and you won’t get any unprovoked snarky comments from me. No insult pissing contests is fine with me.
On the chart I’ll say one disagreeable thing about it but with respect. The NY times is no longer an objective paper. Its been a far left publication for quite some time now which also partly explains its sagging sales and readership. Many cons view that pub with the same disdain that the libs view Rush Limbaugh. And just because they publish a chart doesn’t mean its God’s spoken word any more than if fox news publishes a chart. They have an agenda just like a conservative paper or pub like Newsmax for example. I’m just pointing out that that piece and chart are incredibly statistically flawed.
One simple example that should be obvious is the point that I and Dave made about assigning different deficit costs. If you’re going to assign the war costs under Obama as well as Part D medicare drug costs to Bush instead of Obama then you might as well assign every federal program from SS to Medicare to Medicaid to the creation of the EPA, the SBA, the Dept. of Education, everything really you must logically assign the cost of that program to whatever president it came into being under.

Fine, I disagree with you equating the nyt with rush limbaugh, they are not in the same ballpark. Limbaugh is an entertainer, the times at least was once referred to as the paper of record. Aside from that, the chart itself is just a snapshot and a general one at that. I’m not refuting yours and daves conclusions, see how easy that was? No insults necessary, but check this out:
Over at the Campaign for America’s Future, the Institute for Policy Studies’ (IPS) Sam Pizzigati notes that one way to very easily tackle U.S. debt going forward would be to increase taxes on corporations and the wealthy to levels more closely matching mid-20th century rates. Pizzigati cites an IPS paper from last spring to make the argument that if corporations and households making more than $1 million paid the same rates as they did in 1961, our debt would virtually disappear in a decade:
Some numbers — from an Institute for Policy Studies report released this past spring — can help us better visualize just how monumental this political failure has been. If corporations and households taking in $1 million or more in income each year were now paying taxes at the same annual rates as they did back in 1961, the IPS researchers found, the federal treasury would be collecting an additional $716 billion a year. In other words, if the federal government started taxing the wealthy and their corporations at the same rates in effect a half-century ago, the federal debt to investors would almost totally vanish over the next decade.
As has previously reported, the richest Americans are paying their lowest taxes in a generation. Additionally, Center for American Progress experts Michael Linden, Seth Hanlon, and Jordan Eizenga have shown that the United States is actually very low-tax compared to other developed countries.
