So if one is fortunate enough to live near such an oncologist, then problem solved?

25 percent of the people where Iive do not have health insurance. We had a real problem with getting general practice doctors, let alone specialists, to practice there. Any idea why your friend doesn’t practice in such an area?

So your friend has no limits at all? Will never, ever turn away anyone? Will he also pay for the contract lab work? The radiologist? The operating room? The other specialists he may have to refer the patient to?

I go to a retinologist. He does charity work, couple weekends a month at local hospitals. I’ve discussed this with him. There are limits – he’s not writing a blank check on this.

As far as the tax exempt hospitals, Thomas, are you saying you can walk into any tax-exempt hospital anywhere and get whatever treatment you need? For any condition? You sure about that?

See, in a local county (Tarrant) there’s a tax exempt hospital. Couple years ago they did an audit. Billed lots and lots of people for care becaue they did not live in the county that paid the taxes that supported the hospital.

But what you’re really saying, carried to its conclusion, is no one in this country who has few resources or health insurance, ever needs to worry about receiving noncompensated medical care for any condition.

Do I have that right?

Keep Up the Good Fight!

From the link:

“These are the actions of a party that has completely lost track of reality”

For a significant statement that appears to be correct. A blanket dismissal of projected conditions without any rational argument other than “It’s the future… who can say what will happen in the future?” is not a responsible position for a legislator.

“–and of a leader, John Boehner, who has lost the support of his party.”

I think that’s a bit harsh. TP Congressmen may have been elected under the Republican banner, but they made it clear from the start they were beholden to no one but their districts and their ideology and that they were NOT going to go along with the traditional leadership.

Some of them have shown some awakening awareness of reality but there’s still enough pyromaniacs around who want to burn it down.

Rand Paul (on Hannity): The Boehner plan is not going to be law so why lose your principles by voting for it?

They dont have the votes to pass a bill into law themselves
When someone else tries they wont support it because it will not pass into law
They wont be beaten into it by their “leader” (has the crying started?)
What they want is completely unrelated to the real issue
What they want will adversely and disproportionately hurt the people that can least afford it
They will destroy the economy if they dont get their way
Their demands are based on false premises and silly pledges
The people of this country overwhelmingly want compromise

But they have their all or nothing prinicples and that is what they are “proud” of? Its like standing on top of a nuclear bomb with a timer counting down and no ability to stop it and proclaiming “Be proud of me. I will not run away. When you hear the boom, remember my principles!”

African-American Middle Class Eroding As Unemployment Rate Soars

The unemployment situation across America is bad, no doubt. But for African-Americans in some cities, this is not the great recession. It’s the Great Depression.

Take Charlotte, N.C., for example. It is a jewel of the “new South.” The largest financial center outside of New York City, it’s the showcase for next year’s Democratic National Convention. It was a land of hope and opportunity for many blacks with a four-year college degree or higher.

According to an analysis by the Economic Policy Institute, in Charlotte, N.C., the unemployment rate for African-Americans is 19.2 percent. If you add in people who have given up looking for jobs, that number exceeds 20 percent, which, according to economists Algernon Austin and William Darity, has effectively mired blacks in a depression.

At the end of the day, each and every day…IT’S THE ECONOMY, STUPID!

I would like to connect, for you Bruno, my thoughts that we” kill” others, daily with our anger, hatreds, adulteries, etc. and the fact that we also “kill” plants and animals for food. Because we kill to survive
does negate spiritually. I thought maybe if you come back to this blog on Sat. afternoon or evening, and if you would like me to, I will connect those seemingly disconnected thoughts regarding spiritual understanding.

How does that time sound to you? But, of course, you have to promise not perceive Mary Elizabeth as just wanting all to be “good.” :-) Let me know. It is not a topic many may want to read about. That is why I chose Saturday evening, when many may not be here.

“As Jay said, the biggest social change he’s seen is the absolute defense of the uberwealthy class by the lower and middle economic class”

I call it the “serf mentality” – just like Medieval serfs, if they defend “master” then “master” will protect them. It doesn’t really work that way, but they never see it.

Paul,

I was hoping a adult will offer up the reason because I don’t understand the mindset of a middle class con voting for the gop.

Perhaps a more adult con willl step up and take a swing at this so called logic.
