If anybody needs to find me over the next week or so, here’s where I’ll be.
Oh, and you’re going to need a helicopter or a whitewater raft to get there.

Someone say consistency? They must have been referencing the consistency of Obama starting every speech with the blame W card. It never gets old with these clowns.
July 25th, 20119:33 pm
4 trillion added under Obama in what? 2 1/2 years?
And how much of that was just keeping the troops in the middle East? And extending the tax cuts? Yeah, bad choices, but they were bad choices for 8 years too. So if you guys think they are bad choices now, where were you when this could have been nipped in the bud? Buying shoes with your Bush stimulus check?
Good little liberal
July 25th, 20119:34 pm
I see that the religious bigotry from the left is still alive and well here.
In the words of Kamchak, they are nothing if not consistent. I guess when your entire argument is based on the overt hate of another group of people, there is little variance in what you can say.
Article on the front page of today’s USA Today said the maximum prison sentence in Norway is 21 years. Can that be correct? Over here you get that for holding up a check cashing store. If this mass murderer serves 21 years he’ll be in his 50s when he gets out, still plenty young enough to do it again.
I realize Norway is ground zero for peace and brotherhood and all that, but 21 years? That is absurd.
July 25th, 20119:36 pm
Please point to a single thing that Obama has done in his 2 1/2 years in office that has improved anything for the middle class.
“We can’t allow the American people to be collateral damage” to political warfare”.
Does Norway register population by religious affiliation. Several countries with a state church do. I understand that the status of the Evangelical Lutheran Church as the state church has been brought to public discussion and am not sure if it has been to the degree of changes.
The Leg Lamp is a "major award"......
Quick, who’s falling in the rankings faster, Obama or Tiger Woods?
July 25th, 20119:38 pm
Wow, that consistency poster is pretty powerful.
Powerful enough to draw out sock-puppets.
July 25th, 20119:39 pm
I heard that if America defaults interest rates will rise and the money will be devalued. Have we already defaulted?
Breivik, who was reportedly a Free Mason at one time
Oh my gosh. Those dastardly free masons! Pert near as bad as them hordes of terrorist, backpack bombing Christians blowing themselves up everyday.
Did you wet yourself?
July 25th, 20119:40 pm
GLL: How about five?
1) Payroll tax cuts
2) Tax cuts for the middle class (part of stimulus)
3) Children can remain covered by their parents’ insurance until the age of 26
4) Eliminated subsidies to private lender middlemen of student loans
5) Consumer Protection Agency
There are many more. Want those too? Or are you really going to say that ALL five of those DON’T help the middle class
Ha! Sock Puppet Card! I knew my personal jester would play it! I just knew it! As I said before – SOOOOOOOOOOOO predictable! Like clockwork.
July 25th, 20119:41 pm
He has also been known to drink water out a bottle, drive a scandinavian car and shave with disposable razors. Apparently he belongs to several radical groups.
Like I said, sock-puppets.
July 25th, 20119:42 pm
Gosh, Thulsa! How many times do we have to beat this dead horse? Bush left Obama with $1.2 trillion deficits. And that was before the economy and tax revenues really tanked. We spend $1.2 trillion on defense. Social Security and Medicare do not contribute 1 dollar to the deficit. In fact they are self-supporting and run surpluses. Why are you on the Right so intansigent about reducing defense spending?
You know the left is getting desparate when they go back to Reagan’s presidency as a reference. Why leave Grover Cleveland out of the discussion?
July 25th, 20119:44 pm
Alright, Cardinals kicking ass. Stick with me, Dusty, and I’ll make you some money.
July 25th, 20119:45 pm
“Obama starting every speech with the blame W card.” He is simply speaking the truth.
I just listened to President Obama and Speaker Boehner on the debt ceiling crisis. Compromise could happen between Obama and Boehner but Tea Party members are holding Boehner back from compromise. Koch Brothers and other billionaires interests have funded Tea Party pursuits. Without revenue increases being acceptable, and with only spending cuts acceptable to Tea Party members of Congress, America will become a nation without safety nets such as Social Security and Medicare. Is this the America that you want for your children? This has been the goal for over 30 years for these ideological billionaires. This is a “now or never time” for their rigid ideology.
If you want to continue an America with safety nets, and an America that serves the interests of the majority of middle and working class Americans, call your congressmen and women and tell them forthrightly to support the Reid plan that does not increase taxes and that cuts expenses by 2.5 trillion dollars.
The Reid plan will not downgrade America’s credit standing, but the Boehner plan could, according to Sen. Schumer on CNN, as I write.
I love how much the right HATES that Obama is bringing up Reagan. It must BURN that Reagan supported the very position Obama supports. Why mention it? Because it shows just how crazy things have become. Republicans don’t know how to be on message with CHANGING their position over time.
Maybe slight help with the tax cuts, but they were almost negligible.
I’m not sure giving a 26 year old yet another reason to live at home helped anyone.
Student loans are much harder to get so that’s a big zero.
Are you talking about the credit card scam that the dims tried to say would help the middle class?
July 25th, 20119:46 pm
July 25th, 2011
and the truth is he extended the Bush (now Obama) tax cuts….
Watching Obama trying to associate himself with Reagan just proves how right we are.
July 25th, 20119:47 pm
The killer behind Friday’s bloodletting in Norway is a boyishly handsome, blond-haired anti-Islamic nationalist interested in politics, violent video games and the T.V. show “Dexter.” claims to be a fan of Winston Churchill, classical music, and gory movies like, “300,” and “Gladiator,” on his Facebook page. He also claims on the page to be a fan of the sappy HBO vampire drama, “True Blood,” and the serial killer show, “Dexter.”
In addition to the evil Christians we need to keep tabs on all those other evil groups including the evil gory movie and 300, gladiator watchers. Better yet we best just ban all violent movies to make sure this never happens again. Same with ‘True Blood’ and “Dexter”, watchers of these shows are evil too. And I always knew their was something sinister about classical music. Better ban that stuff too. And anyone caught reading or admiring Churchill? Need to keep tabs on those folks too.
Mary Elizabeth: Is this the America that you want for your children?
And to think I thought things were bad enough in the past decade that I didn’t want children, now I would feel like I was sending a child to the gas chamber just by having one if I did. And the irony is I am still desirous of such a thing. If this damn thing gets resolved, maybe I’ll revisit it, but in another country.
July 25th, 20119:48 pm
Obama has pushed our debt up 30% in 2.5 years. Was that also Bush’s fault?
If anyone watches the Obama speech, please let me know who he’s blaming for his failures tonight. I’m thinking eventually he’ll have to come up with some new villains.
Keep Up the Good Fight!
July 25th, 20119:50 pm
Watching Obama trying to associate himself with Reagan just proves how right the extreme wingnutty we are now believe.
July 25th, 20119:51 pm
“and the truth is he extended the Bush (now Obama) tax cuts….”
Gosh, Leg, how many times do we have to beat this dead horse? Those with any memory at all will recall that Congress, especially Speaker Boehner, held President Obama hostage over extending the Bush tax cuts by threatening to cut off the 99 week unemployment provision.
You know, Hitler loved Wagner and Bach.
i think it must be classical music that does it.
GLL: So you countered 4 of the 5 points. Surely ALL of the points I made are wrong, right?
I just love the “What has Obama done” question, no matter how it gets qualified, because he’s done plenty of things that are good for the country and good for all walks of Americans, but blind hatred doesn’t allow you to SEE any of that. So you have to resort to trying to counter the good points I make, albeit unsuccessfully.
As for being right because Obama is comparing himself to Reagan, that also makes no sense.
July 25th, 20119:52 pm
Tea party, Koch brothers, and millionaires and billionaires cards all played in fell swoop. Oddly enough the Soros card is missing though. Oops. Never mind he’s a hard left nut so he’s A-OKAY.
Recon (2nd.and 3rd.)
Lets see, if Harry Reid’s bill dies in the Senate as predicted and Boehners bill doesn’t make it through the House and or fails in the Senate, could or would Obama raise the debt ceiling by executive order? If so, for how long? Another scenario, if Boehner’s bill makes it through both chambers and hits the presidents desk, will he sign or veto?
July 25th, 20119:53 pm
July 25th, 2011
Ah yes, the “held him hostage” excuse. Niiiiiiice.
July 25th, 20119:54 pm
And predictably right on cue swampy nowhere man/gll plays the Hitler card.
Sorry, the blind hatred thing doesn’t work. I honestly have a hard time finding anything he has done that has not helped his incredibly rich supporters. His Health Bill made the Health Insurance Companies incredibly rich while all of our rates went up.
What I hate is bigotry like the anti-religous bigotry I read on here, but hate Obama? He’s just an obstacle to my country being back on track, hardly worth hating.
Guess that proves it but its something else too that you left out. Bach, Mozart, Ludwig von as I like to call him, they’re all a bunch of old, dead white men. That right there makes them particularly sinister just like the founding fathers.
July 25th, 20119:55 pm
Oh yeah, and that talking point trying to call the tax cuts the Obama tax cuts is just nonsense.
1) how scared you guys are that those tax cuts were a bad policy position
2) how much you want to blame Obama for things Bush did
3) How much you want to take anything you think is a bad policy position and make it somehow Obama’s fault, despite a rational analysis of the timeline and substance of events.
I see you still can’t muster the courage to address me but instead you gossip like an old woman.
Some things never change.
July 25th, 20119:56 pm
Alright, let’s get one think straight. The Republicans and the Corporate Right in this country would like nothing more than for to be living in the back seat of your car with your family. They have shipped your jobs to China. They want more than anything to do away with your “food stamps” and “welfare.” It’s just “Social Darwinism.” Your job got shipped overseas — too bad. If you and your family starve to death — well, that’s just too bad isn’t it? Boo Hoo!
But, you know what? The day is coming when the disaffected in this country are going to rise up in anger and it won’t matter how many guns or how much ammunition or how much dried food you have in storage because you know what? They’re going to kill you! And you won’t be able to a damn thing about it!
Adam @ 9:47
Adam, you are a dear heart! Remember, I urged you not to become jaded in your thinking.
Have your child or children and have them in America. Keep believing in America. This nation has overcome worse than this in its past, and it will overcome this.
Life goes on; having a child has been the greatest joy in my life. Politics is minor in comparison.
July 25th, 20119:57 pm
I’m thinking eventually he’ll have to come up with some new villains.- Bruno
I dunno Bruno. He seems to get a lotta mileage out of the blame W card. I think he coulda already driven to the far reaches of the universe and back with the mileage he’s gotten out of it so far.
Other screen demanding undivided attention and it does pay the rent…g’night….
here’s a big surprise.
Obama is the president. whatever happens while he is president is his fault. You know, like what you guys thought about Bush.
You voting for him. Hold him responsible, no matter how wrong it makes you look.
How’s that “obama got bin laden” bump working out…..
July 25th, 20119:58 pm
GLL: It’s pretty obvious you hate Obama, and it’s blind because you can’t see anything he has done as positive, even when it’s pretty obvious that there were plenty of positive things that he has done. How much it costs to do stuff like that is certainly a debate to have, but it ignores the purpose of policy positions. Sometimes I think you guys really need to learn to think outside of the “bottom line” box.
July 25th, 20119:59 pm
Harry Reid came up with a plan? What did it take- 817 days?
So when the great French Revolution happens in America and the great unwashed cranks up the Guillotine, where will everyone work?
July 25th, 201110:00 pm
So, you can read minds over the internet. What am i thinking right now?
Left wing management
Thulsa: “My point is just that he’s just a nut and not much of a Christian to begin with.”
Indeed. In same mold, it appears, as Kazinski, McVeigh, Rudolph, etc.
Obama is the president. whatever happens while he is president is his fault.
Ok, so does he also get credit for anything he does that is positive?
And I’m holding him accountable alright. Give me an alternative that will make me believe that he or she will work for the middle class and not for the rich, not work for tax cuts, not work for unreasonable positions and false negotiation, and not play to the crazies.
July 25th, 201110:01 pm
Name five good things that Bush did.
Or do you hate him?
Well, the good news is THE BRAVES ARE PLAYING BALL. No points yet but doing their best
.Chipper is playing. Prado is playing. It’s going to be a good game!!!!
“Ah yes, the “held him hostage” excuse. Niiiiiiice.”
When you don’t have a reply, use deflection and insult. Are you really saying that is not what happened?
July 25th, 201110:02 pm
Sure he gets credit, if it is actually positive. Democrats are really bad about judging a policy based on the promises, not the actual results.
Obama asks the people to contact Congress and tell them to raise the debt ceiling with a balanced approach…and reports are that the Congressional websites are overloaded and crashing….
Of course the extreme minority wingnuts scream louder here….but loudness does not make the nonsense any more sensible.
July 25th, 201110:03 pm
I don’t think Reid’s plan will pass in the Senate. The lack of so called revenue increases or a code phrase for tax increases will turn off liberal Senators.
July 25th, 201110:04 pm
July 25th, 2011
So whenever Obama fails to muster support of his policies he is “being held hostage”? muuuuwwwwAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!
What am i thinking right now?
The presumption of intelligent thought has yet to be proven to be a valid presumption.
July 25th, 201110:05 pm
Keep Up the Good Fight!
How’s your Mom?
July 25th, 201110:06 pm
1) Spoke to the country after 9/11 to remind everyone not to hate Muslims, that it was extremists that did this, not the Muslim faith (did this many times)
2) Got Saddam (should have just said that was the goal, but whatever)
3) The Energy bill that phased out incandescent light bulbs
5) Extended federal pension benefits to include same-sex couples
July 25th, 201110:07 pm
Here is the big problem facing Right-Wing bloggers who come over to this blog: you come armed with rote knowledge that you learned “monkey-hear, monkey say.” You don’t read and learn and, therefore, when faced with any substantive criticism, you run and hide. Just like turning on the lights in the kitchen, the roaches run for the woodwork. If you come hear with “Well, Lush said it’s true” you’re going to be embarrassed over and over again. And I, for one, LOVE to embarrass haughty Right-Wing know-it-all blowhards. It’s what I live for!
GLL: So if Obama gets credit for something positive that happens under his watch, then he gets credit for Osama bin Laden being killed, right?
Summing up Obama’s presidency thus far is just a pathetic lack of leadership that has severely impacted our country.
July 25th, 201110:08 pm
Ok that was a little unfair. You get to choose things that a good president did.
July 25th, 201110:09 pm
Gll/swampy nowhere man
Perhaps you can tell us again how Jay can “watch them writing before the[sic] post it?’
Or maybe you are drunk blogging again on your way to another melt-down.
Indeed. In same mold, it appears, as Kazinski, McVeigh, Rudolph, etc.- LWM
Left wing management,
Oddly enough Kazinski was a left wing nut who railed against technology but the man was of unquestioned brilliance in mathematics. I did some reading on him and at one point this guy was so mathematically advanced that he believed he could solve the problems of the universe mathematically. For all his math brilliance though he was as socially awkward as he was smart in math. McVeigh just strikes me as a disaffected loser who was just angry at the world and hateful and looking for some kind of ideology to channel his anger. Same probably with Rudolph.
July 25th, 201110:10 pm
Pres Obama did not try to associate himself with Pres Reagan. He pointed out how at odds House Republicans are with the Reagan legacy they like to cite.
I switched between Fox and MSNBC for commentary. Congressman Walsh (?) Republican on MSNBC – new fact! The top 2 percent pay 60 percent of the taxes. That number just keeps going up by double digits! On Fox was Hannity. He made the point, again, about raising taxes on the rich, the job creators (what Pres Obama calls millionaires and billionaires). Will someone ever ask Hannity if his taxes aren’t raised how many people will he hire this coming year? Out of his personal income?
Rep Boehner’s speech was lacking. A rebuttal speech should address the major points of the opponent, not merely recite the history of what you’ve done.
And what’s with Boehner and that teleprompter? It was a short speech. Isn’t he smart enough to memorize it? //sarc//
July 25th, 201110:11 pm
Thanks. That’s right. He did order the operation on bin Laden. Not perfect and rife with potential conspiracies, but considering the reaction from Pakistan, it looks like we really got him. And Obama has been popping quite a few al Quida leaders with un-manned aircraft.
I hate to say that his biggest accomplishments has been killing people, but at least they appear to be the right people to kill.
“You get to choose things that a good president did.”
I hope that goalpost wasn’t too heavy for you. Wouldn’t want you to strain something important.
July 25th, 201110:12 pm
Paul: Will someone ever ask Hannity if his taxes aren’t raised how many people will he hire this coming year? Out of his personal income?
Too bad this doesn’t fit on a bumper sticker or really penetrate. Maybe this is better:
YOUR JOB ISN’T PAID FOR WITH YOUR BOSS’S PERSONAL INCOME.
July 25th, 201110:13 pm
Who is Nothing Is Free.
Confused? Step away from the crack pipe. That stuff is BAD, pal.
July 25th, 201110:14 pm
Doggone: I really didn’t understand what he said there, honestly.
GLL: I know you have support for such initiatives (getting al qaida) and I do too. That’s a common thing. But to say NOTHING else was positive? Come on!
As you view and comprehend Obama’s serious unfavorable ratings, it’s hard to build a case for his re-election prospects.
Leg: let me ask you this: What kind of Congress would refuse to pass an extension of unemployment benefits in the worst economic downturn since the Great Depression? Your childish response simply belies your lack of a real response to the topic.
July 25th, 201110:15 pm
I always horselaugh when I see the likes of Harry Reid talking about corporate jets. It’s not exactly like he hitchhikes across country.
Look folks, do the country a favor. Shut up and go to bed. You are doing nothing but increasing the anger and we don’t need that.
Most of you have already taken a stand so forget the ugly stuff and act like Americans. .
This little game of insulting everybody has run its course. Now be a grownup and cut it out.
YOU CAN DO IT. The children have already gone to bed so don’t act like one. Get your teddy bear and GOOOO quietly to the kitchen. Get a glass of milk. And GOOOOO.. Goodnight……
Not in the least, sport.
July 25th, 201110:16 pm
From what I’ve read Reid’s plan doesn’t really change anything. The cuts he is asking for are based on the wind down of the 2 wars and not a lot else. Not really a serious plan as I can see. From what I’ve seen neither his plan or Boehner’s plan is actually asking for real, structural changes that will have to be enacted eventually. No matter which plan even if we take the Boehner plan we will not really get anywhere 10 years from now.
No. I just can’t think of anything.
They BOTH suck
Hope all is well………………. We have had our debates and arguments, no doubt as well as some decent discussion
Your point about Muslims committing more terrorist attacks worldwide is valid, however why the downplay of those that call themselves Christian?
There are Muslims who claim that Muslims who are terrorists are misinterpreting the Koran and are not true believers. Does that make those terrorists any less Muslim?
If someone claims to be a Christian and commits an act of terrorism, why shouldn’t the media report it?
Should they not have said anything about the Norwegian’s religion?
Not arguing…… just asking
July 25th, 201110:17 pm
“Look folks, do the country a favor. Shut up and go to bed”
You’re RIGHT. Enough said, good night y’all. Taps
July 25th, 201110:18 pm
Boy! I’m mad! And I’m in a street-fightin’ mood! Come one, come all! I’m ready!
And now I’m sport? Swappyman? Nothing Is free?
We were both here when Jay said that he doesn’t allow multiple names. See, crack makes you forget.
But mommy said I can stay up late tonight.
July 25th, 201110:19 pm
Just popped over to drudge and read this:
“Steven Spielberg’s summer cruise around the coast of Sardinia in the company of his god-daughter Gwyneth Paltrow and friends has entered choppy waters after he fell foul of watchful Italian beachgoers, a vigilant coastguard and Italy’s strict rules on having fun.”
and I got to thinking, this debt thing is serious. If Spielberg has his taxes raised, that means he won’t have the money to make the movies he was planning on. He makes really good movies, like his latest, Super 8.
That additional $4.60 per $100 is gonna kill some awful good movie projects.
July 25th, 201110:20 pm
GLL: Sleep on it.
They BOTH suck
Muslims that carry out attacks openly insist that they are doing the will of God.
What Christian that has committed any act of terror said that Jesus made them do it?
TD @ 10:16
I tend to believe these recent discussions and bantering from all sides is as much politics and theatrics as anything else……….
Will there be a plan that everyone agrees on? no
Will there be a debt ceiling increase in some form or fashion? yes
Will the plan work as well as either-side will claim? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
July 25th, 201110:21 pm
I only allow supermodels into my dreams.
July 25th, 201110:22 pm
Kam, looks like we’ll soon get another secret note only to liberals posted here from Jay and some more whining about the “unfairness”…..
“YOUR JOB ISN’T PAID FOR WITH YOUR BOSS’S PERSONAL INCOME.”
But that’s not what I hear from Hannity and Congressional Republicans. Those rich guys are all ‘job creators.’ Many of them have personal income from their personal small business, even if that small business has a couple people and grosses millions, any tax will cause them to not hire people and put their money at risk!
So…… are you implying you’d support increased taxes on the rich’s personal income as that isn’t tied to job creation?
Spielberg has never paid for any movie he has ever made.
July 25th, 201110:23 pm
Nice one on the stones. Timely, in tune with the angry theme in the house tonight, and a nice diversion.
So when do you have to go back to school?
Yeah, seems every year Congress authorizes and funds more aircraft purchases than the Air Force requests. And they all go into the VIP fleet.
GLL @ 10:20
I personally could careless about religious zealots of any religion faith or denomination…………..
I was just making a point…….. It should be pointed out in all cases.
They can fry the dude for all I care………….. Whether he did it for his God or for whatever reason… He is an fn lunatic
