4 trillion added under Obama in what? 2 1/2 years?

And how much of that was just keeping the troops in the middle East? And extending the tax cuts? Yeah, bad choices, but they were bad choices for 8 years too. So if you guys think they are bad choices now, where were you when this could have been nipped in the bud? Buying shoes with your Bush stimulus check?

Article on the front page of today’s USA Today said the maximum prison sentence in Norway is 21 years. Can that be correct? Over here you get that for holding up a check cashing store. If this mass murderer serves 21 years he’ll be in his 50s when he gets out, still plenty young enough to do it again.

I realize Norway is ground zero for peace and brotherhood and all that, but 21 years? That is absurd.

Does Norway register population by religious affiliation. Several countries with a state church do. I understand that the status of the Evangelical Lutheran Church as the state church has been brought to public discussion and am not sure if it has been to the degree of changes.

We spend $1.2 trillion on defense. Social Security and Medicare do not contribute 1 dollar to the deficit. In fact they are self-supporting and run surpluses. Why are you on the Right so intansigent about reducing defense spending?

I just listened to President Obama and Speaker Boehner on the debt ceiling crisis. Compromise could happen between Obama and Boehner but Tea Party members are holding Boehner back from compromise. Koch Brothers and other billionaires interests have funded Tea Party pursuits. Without revenue increases being acceptable, and with only spending cuts acceptable to Tea Party members of Congress, America will become a nation without safety nets such as Social Security and Medicare. Is this the America that you want for your children? This has been the goal for over 30 years for these ideological billionaires. This is a “now or never time” for their rigid ideology.

If you want to continue an America with safety nets, and an America that serves the interests of the majority of middle and working class Americans, call your congressmen and women and tell them forthrightly to support the Reid plan that does not increase taxes and that cuts expenses by 2.5 trillion dollars.

The Reid plan will not downgrade America’s credit standing, but the Boehner plan could, according to Sen. Schumer on CNN, as I write.

The killer behind Friday’s bloodletting in Norway is a boyishly handsome, blond-haired anti-Islamic nationalist interested in politics, violent video games and the T.V. show “Dexter.” claims to be a fan of Winston Churchill, classical music, and gory movies like, “300,” and “Gladiator,” on his Facebook page. He also claims on the page to be a fan of the sappy HBO vampire drama, “True Blood,” and the serial killer show, “Dexter.”

In addition to the evil Christians we need to keep tabs on all those other evil groups including the evil gory movie and 300, gladiator watchers. Better yet we best just ban all violent movies to make sure this never happens again. Same with ‘True Blood’ and “Dexter”, watchers of these shows are evil too. And I always knew their was something sinister about classical music. Better ban that stuff too. And anyone caught reading or admiring Churchill? Need to keep tabs on those folks too.

Pres Obama did not try to associate himself with Pres Reagan. He pointed out how at odds House Republicans are with the Reagan legacy they like to cite.

I switched between Fox and MSNBC for commentary. Congressman Walsh (?) Republican on MSNBC – new fact! The top 2 percent pay 60 percent of the taxes. That number just keeps going up by double digits! On Fox was Hannity. He made the point, again, about raising taxes on the rich, the job creators (what Pres Obama calls millionaires and billionaires). Will someone ever ask Hannity if his taxes aren’t raised how many people will he hire this coming year? Out of his personal income?

Rep Boehner’s speech was lacking. A rebuttal speech should address the major points of the opponent, not merely recite the history of what you’ve done.

“YOUR JOB ISN’T PAID FOR WITH YOUR BOSS’S PERSONAL INCOME.”

But that’s not what I hear from Hannity and Congressional Republicans. Those rich guys are all ‘job creators.’ Many of them have personal income from their personal small business, even if that small business has a couple people and grosses millions, any tax will cause them to not hire people and put their money at risk!

So…… are you implying you’d support increased taxes on the rich’s personal income as that isn’t tied to job creation?

Sooth,

Nice one on the stones. Timely, in tune with the angry theme in the house tonight, and a nice diversion.

Yeah, seems every year Congress authorizes and funds more aircraft purchases than the Air Force requests. And they all go into the VIP fleet.

They BOTH suck
