Soros is a predator, pogo. He is very good at spotting the weak, cutting him out of the herd and feasting on him. But capitalism requires, even celebrates, predators, does it not? Mitt Romney was a predator at Bain. Donald Trump, the GOP flavor of the month a while back, is a predator. The Koch brothers are predators.

I do find it fascinating to see the right celebrate when corporations evade taxes, yet somehow become outraged when a corporation such as GE, linked to Obama, evades taxes.

Likewise, Soros is an international financier, a supposed master of the universe and the type of self-made figure the right tends to idolize. But again, because he supports the left, the very traits that would otherwise get him lionized become reasons to hate him.

pogo, nice off-topic blowhard hyperbole and false equivocation. why not just say the soros is the architect of the european debt crisis. soros ran a hedge fund that returned over 30% annually over 30 years. he never didn’t built a morally bankrupt propaganda empire.

but thanks for the predictable and pathetically inaccurate comparison.

Seems you may be projecting your own personality traits onto entire groups of people?

You are guilty as can be of every single thing you claim the “right” ( is that every right leaning person or just a few?) is guilty of doing in your 4:33?

Yet you fail to mention that your entire financial life is a result of you doing the exact same things. If a person does something and happen to be a democrat, you usually remain silent about it… However if the same exact action is done by a republican we get an article complete with graphs as to why it is the republicans and them alone who are destroying our country.

The only difference between YOU and those you blast at 4:33 is that you think you are better an more wise than them because you refuse to admit that you foster quite a bit of hypocricy and one sided visons yourself.

Oh but you are simply an opinion columnist…. but why do you basically make fun of others who may have opinions, many who may share the same baisc view as you only they favor republicans and you democrats?

Is it because you are somehow better than them and your opinion must be correct?

Why the arrogance?

Ewww. How the liberal nasties come out when their benefactor Soros is mentioned (no matter how dispiccable he is). Jay, at least you acknowledge some of his loathsomeness even though you try to excuse it using “Capitalism” as the culprit. No, with Soros it isn’t capitalism and it isn’t money. It is the greed for power. Read about Soros. The drive behind the man is to make the world into a place where the lucky few control everything we the “prolitariat” do. Money isn’t the driver for Soros, ultimate power is.

And Jay, are you actually saying you don’t like capitalism and that all those that take part in it are “predators”? I am very interested to know. It would be very interesting to know your take on exactly what kind of economic system (if not capitalism) we should be adhering to.

In fact, quite the opposite scenario now exists. They absolutely adore, enable and protect criminals.

BUT…only the white collar kind. You know, the new American sovereigns – the uber-wealthy hedge fund managers, banksters and casino capitalists who unleashed the Great Recession. Wrong Jay. Are you so dense that you missed the point entirely? The right hates him because he took his money and THEN tries to use that money to change the rules (by influencing politics) so that nobody else could do the same. The point is not that Soros supports the left…the point is that he is attempting to create a failed welfare state in the U.S.

Warren Buffet also supports the left. But he is not hated the way Soros is. Here is your lesson plan for today, Jay. Study the political actions of both men… who support the left… and then report why Soros is hated and Buffet is not. I think that you will find your “support of the left” argument doesn’t make the cut for a passing grade.

Hint: While very rich, WB realizes that a strong U.S. economy and a strong middle class is what makes the business environment ripe for making money. He would rather see a nation of producers and consumers. So while the right may disagree with WB, (fundamentally) we are after the same result. Contrast that to Soros, and you see why we hate Soros but not Buffet.

“Left Wing” brings Soros being Jewish into the conversation. This is typical, sad but oh so very predicitable from the left. If nothing else works, then play the race or religion card. To prove this just look at this blog for a few minutes.

Sort of like the John Edwards fiasco or numerous other things that the liberal press has chosen to ignore until the evidence became so obvious that to continue to ignore it would be tantamount to a cover up. “Fact and Pressure Forced Fox News to Cover News Corp Hacking Scandal”? What a bunch of crap. They are no more guilty of a cover up than any other news outlet under the same moniker. Once more Keep, for emphasis…… No laws have broken, no indictments have been rendered and before you put Fox news and the Wall Street Journal in the grave, think carefully. I don’t like what he did in the UK either but until some kind of proof of a cover up, evidence of wrongdoing by either Murdoch owned news outlet is found, you are just pissing into the wind. BTW, facts are my long suit. I tend to believe them much more than conjecture.

The left and their juvenile hate fetishes.

Funny watching the left defend Soros, the hedge fund KING. I thought they hated hedgehogs. Hypocrisy rules when their ideology can be financed by one.

George Soros is known as the wealthiest speculator of all time. His trading all took place in the Netherlands Antilles, where his earnings compounded tax free.

The left’s Paul Krugman: “Nobody who has read a business magazine in the last few years can be unaware that these days there really are investors who not only move money in anticipation of a currency crisis, but actually do their best to trigger that crisis for fun and profit. These new actors on the scene do not yet have a standard name; my proposed term is ‘Soroi.’”

And THIS is a sick obsession.

In an interview with The Washington Post on November 11, 2003, Soros said that removing President George W. Bush from office was the “central focus of my life” and “a matter of life and death.” He said he would sacrifice his entire fortune to defeat President Bush, “if someone guaranteed it

Asked in 2006 about his statement in The Age of Fallibility that “the main obstacle to a stable and just world order is the United States”, Soros responded that “it happens to coincide with the prevailing opinion in the world.

To which I say….WHO GIVES A FLYIN’ PUCK.!!!!

BROSEPHUS

” Soros being Jewish IS relevant if you’ve been following the right wing’s lying, scurrilous and, yes, anti-Semitic tyrade against him. It’s been disgusting in extremis…and I’m no defender of Soros any more than any of the other scumbags who play the game he does…”

Josef, That was funny, calling out the right wingers, and then you calling him a scumbag.

Amvet,
the best comedians are the ones whose politics can’t be labeled by either party tag. The ones who “offend” everyone. With the passing of Carlin, I don’t know if we’ll ever see another one…Nowadays, if you offend one group…it’s time for an apology tour.
