GOP: The birther craze was Obama’s fault

You know, the shamelessness required to utter things like this is just mind-boggling.

“We’re borrowing four and a half billion dollars a day and this president is more worried about birth certificates, Oprah Winfrey and fundraisers at the Waldorf Astoria,” (RNC Chairman Reince) Priebus complained on “CNN Newsroom” Thursday, a day after the president released his long-form Hawaii birth certificate and then jetted to Chicago for a long-scheduled interview with the daytime queen of talk.

“It’s maddening and I just wish the president would engage in the real issues that are affecting America.”

After years in which members of Preibus’ party and its right-wing media remora complain bitterly that Obama has refused to release his “long-form” birth certificate, spinning absurd fantasies in which a large portion of the GOP base eagerly swallows, the president finally relents and forces release of documents that any rational person already knew existed.

And suddenly it’s the president who is making this an issue and a distraction?

It’s pitiful. Just pitiful. Do they actually expect people to believe such nonsense? Unbelievable.

Then again, given that so many were willing to believe the birther craziness in the first place, it’s not too far-fetched to believe they’ll buy this too.

Yes, Bosch,

Did I say I didn’t respect Obama? No, I said he was a weak president. If I used some of the names applied to Bush & Cheney as you frequently did and still do, I would be moderated and thrown out. Not to mention your pure prejudice against “old people” you frquently mention.

Yes, I objected to the vitrioloic namecalling applied to Bush and you should be ashamed for being a participant. As to Obama, he is still weak, a very bad characteristic for a President. But I respect his weakness. He can’t help it.

From Huff Post:
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/04/27/obama-birth-certificate-r_n_854248.html
“And yet it was the press that played a large role in forcing the administration’s hand. CNN’s Ed Henry had pressed White House Press Secretary Jay Carney on the issue just one day earlier, despite the fact that his own network had done a thorough investigation debunking the claims of the conspiracy theorists.”

Funny that. The press debunked the claim. Obama scolds them.

Sounds like anyone asking Obama anything he doesn’t like gets scolded. I wonder if Ed Henry, Wolf Blitzer, Anderson Cooper or George Stephanopolous are still sobbing on their desks for the harsh rebuke he gave them?

Because he’s so smart, so busy and getting so many things done, it was a distraction that had to be dealt with so we can all move on to deal with really important matters….like to Chicago to film the Oprah show.

From WH comm director Dan Pfeiffer:

“This issue was resolved in 2008. It has not been an issue,” White House Communications Director Dan Pfeiffer said during a morning briefing in which he and other officials took care not to mention Trump’s name. “None of you have asked about it, called about it or reported on it until the last few weeks … [not releasing it] would probably be good for the president politically. ”

….”Not releasing it would be good?”

That can only mean that he acknowledges the disgracement and embarassment game being played by Jay and most editorialists everywhere, OR it means that the President is being effective if everyone is swallowing the crap he gives them hook, line and sinker.

Oh, the bizarre politics in the land where “spending” means “investing” and “cutting” means “right-wing racism” of Washington, land of fantasy, wonder and friendly little elves called the “media”–friendly if you’re a Democrat.

Since it was such a distraction, I’m sure Obama knows how much of a distraction. Might he tell us in terms of dollars spent?

Wolf Blitzer, tears running down his face, looking up from his desk, “No! No! NO!!!!! You can’t make me ask HIM!”

I am very concerned for the safety of those who would claim Obama has an evolved consciousness that only a few understand. I love the part where he is a strong leader, it’s just that no one knows it. Can you relate? You have a boss at work but neither you nor anyone else knows it! I can agree with the idea that with this Administration it seems no one is in charge. Take Obamacare as an example, he brags about it, doesn’t know what is in it, it is so bad he has had to waived the law for more than a 1000 companies, and someone unknown to us wrote it. This is not an example of a mysterious but convincing leader, this is an example of the most expensive and destructive piece of legislation in the history of our country enacted by a comlete lack of any hint of leadership. The Obamacare law is a myriad of more than 2000 pages of ideas thrown together by a committee without a keader. The only hope this country has at this time is that a majority of us have figured out what a snake oil salesman Obama is. Another is the more he speaks the more his poll numbers drop because no matter what he says, his record will drown out his voice.

Plaintiff Philip J. Berg is a dumbass too. Neither Pres. Obama nor his mother lost their citizenship because she naturalized in Indonesia. The only way to lose US citizenship if you’re a citizen from birth, is to go to an Consulate on foreign soil and renounce your citizenship in the presence of officials who can verify that. Even the people who are joining the Taliban have not lost their US citizenship. Maybe if Philip J. There’s a good reason that pols play the, “will he run or will he not run” game before officially announcing their intent to run for office. You’re not gonna even get to sniff anywhere near the classified stuff that people in that level of government get to see without some type of pre-clearance.

SoCo,

You better read my post again. I was not agreeing with Gm. I did not like what he said. If you don’t like that, I’m sorry.

Like I said, I think you need to read again and see how you are off track. I’ll support Alabama any time I feel like it.

SoCo, you’re a nice guy. Even when you drop this line: “ok, I’m just calling that total BS”

Mr. Callahan — “Can you please explain the difference between “stick a grenade up my a$$” and “you can go get stuffed with an M60 LMG”

Backtrack there, cowboy. Here’s what I said and what you reposted:

“Now, I don’t know what *your* problem is, but if I think that some civilian is calling disabled veteran me a coward, then I’ve got every right to call them on it. And you can go get stuffed with an M60 LMG if you disagree, cowboy.”

Well, then, Mr. Callahan, tell me. Do you *disagree?* Do I or do I not have every right to call out a civilian if I believe they’ve called disabled veteran me a coward?

I eagerly await your reply, sir.

Dave R, you’re not such a bad guy. You throw some punches at the R’s every so often. And even agree with the D’s when it makes sense to you. Nice “crossing the aisle” work….

Harry C. You bring up race a lot. And maybe you don’t fully appreciate some of the racial discrimination that has occurred in the past that effects the present sometimes. But at least you do it out of the interest in seeing equality for everyone. Ie, it seems you believe that a world that is blind to race is a good one.

@@ — “For throwing the “B” word at’cha, girlfriend!”

Got it. You’ll call people bigots and then run off without any sort of explanation for your claim. Understood, drive-by.

“Are you male or female. The way you’re going on about the wedding leaves me to wonder.”

All male from stem to stern, sir/madam. One need not be female to look at a woman’s clothing and say ‘that chick looks like hell.’

I have no problem with your support of Alabama. I just don’t think Gm’s post deserved a response, even if it was in defense of something. Sometimes the best way to keep an idiot in suspense is not to respond to his idiocy in the first place. I know you meant well, but as a native Alabamian, I personally feel the best response was a non-response.

Thanks. :)

Understand this: some people are on welfare because they lost their jobs due to the George Bush doing nothing about the economy thing,
When you shoot off your mouth about the bad the government does, and never say anything good it does most tea party, birtheres are collecting medicaid, medicare, va checks you sound and look stupid being a bigot.
You idiots want state rights, let the state take care of those people, but you idiots want to have it both ways and thats why you people are a joke around the world.

Ahh thank you, Complimentary Guy, for your sugar & spice and everything nice…buttttt speaking of team players.

Oh oh my fine friends the BRAVES. First, McDowell loses his cool with spectators and then Lowe goes RACING ON PEACHTREE ROAD. After a few drinks!!!! Now that’s the wrong pitch!!

But the hearty Braves will continue to play great games. Yes, indeed. GO BRAVES!!!

You’re a bit thick in the head if you don’t mind my saying. It’s as though you wanna hang onto your hurt feelings even when there’s no justification.

Whatever trips your trigger, dude.
