You know, the shamelessness required to utter things like this is just mind-boggling.
“We’re borrowing four and a half billion dollars a day and this president is more worried about birth certificates, Oprah Winfrey and fundraisers at the Waldorf Astoria,” (RNC Chairman Reince) Priebus complained on “CNN Newsroom” Thursday, a day after the president released his long-form Hawaii birth certificate and then jetted to Chicago for a long-scheduled interview with the daytime queen of talk.
“It’s maddening and I just wish the president would engage in the real issues that are affecting America.”
After years in which members of Preibus’ party and its right-wing media remora complain bitterly that Obama has refused to release his “long-form” birth certificate, spinning absurd fantasies in which a large portion of the GOP base eagerly swallows, the president finally relents and forces release of documents that any rational person already knew existed.
And suddenly it’s the president who is making this an issue and a distraction?
It’s pitiful. Just pitiful. Do they actually expect people to believe such nonsense? Unbelievable.
Then again, given that so many were willing to believe the birther craziness in the first place, it’s not too far-fetched to believe they’ll buy this too.

Of course they are laughing at the bigots still hating the President, this man b/c was seen in 2008.
Obama should have never had to address this issues, thesee are the same people that did not vote for him any way.
Now Trump is calling on his grads in college, now if Obama had a football or basketball scholarship from these universities , would he have been out?
The worst kind of bigot is the the one in denial, you people are not Americans, I’ll rather have people from another country as my neighbor then you idiot bigot Americans like Rush, Hannity, birthers.

Larry,
“what is his plan for reducing the deficit”
From what I’ve read he has a committee working on that, and from what I’ve heard he plans to let the Bush taxes expire and cut spending.
What is his plan for Syria
What? So now the conflict in Syria is somehow top front of what’s most important to you? Can you slow down on your poutrages just a bit? We have wingnuts on here whining that he’s gotten us into three wars and now you want a fourth? Only then to see people whine about it?
What is his plan for Libya?
Isn’t our involvement there pretty much over now?
“What is his plan for reducing our dependance on foriegn oil other than keeping our tires inflated”
Well, we now have increased domestic oil production than in previous years, and there is increase federal funding for nuclear power and other alternatives such as natural gas and clean coal (which I think is bullshyte — there is no such thing as clean coal).
“What is his plan for funding his health care initiative”
For one thing, making everyone pay into it instead of just those of us with insurance who wind up paying for everyone else’s health care costs.
Anything else I can help you with?

If Trump just wanted to stir up trouble and draw a lot of attention — and that does seem to be his aim — a bid as a Democrat would allow him to do both. And yes, a certain number of folks on the right would flock to the polls to support him. He said this week that people would be very very surprised when he makes his announcement….

Bosh – what spending cuts is he willing to make that will have an impact? And will he let ALL the Bush cuts expire or just for the “elite”? If not it’s more of the same bs. 2/3 of the revenue reduction was caused by cuts to the middle and lower income groups and if he’s serious about debt reduction, he needs that 2/3’s plus more. I noticed how willing he and the Dem’s were to cut into this years spending……..yeah he’s as effective as Jimmy C.

I always thought a couple of her supporters sent out an email mentioning this possibility (now, I could be wrong)– but it was definitely the wingnuts who are to blame for this getting any traction. In this past week, I have written about an evolution of ideas. The Civil Rights Movement, Darwin’s Theory of Evolution, and Same-Sex Marriage were examples of ideas that moved more progressive as humankind evolved.
Now, there is an evolution of what entails a strong leader. Some do not yet understand that being strong does not mean being a bully. Donald Trump is seen as being strong by some, but he is seen as being limited by others.
Martin Luther King, Jr., though praised by most today, was maligned when he was alive, just as Obama is being maligned today. Obama has an evolved consciousness that many do not yet understand, but he is leading us toward seeing that we are all interconnected. His is not a mind that sees in simple win/lose dichotomies. Barack Obama is a strong leader. Some see that now. Many will see it later, as the world evolves in its understanding of what real strength entails.

The birther craze was Obama’s fault
I agree. First they produce a short-form (crude forgery), claiming it’s the only one.
The new Gov of Hawaii said there’s no long form on file. Now this latest (crude forgery) mysteriously appears, guaranteed to be the Real McCoy. (NOT)
Here’s what wrong with it:
The term _African_ was not used in any state back in 1961 to label persons with negroid features.
The correct term (used in all english-speaking countries, is Negro.
trivia: Africa is a continent, not a race. There’s millions of African-born caucasians and Indians.
Also, in the space for _Country (of father’s birth) it has _Kenya, East Africa_.
Sorry, but there’s no such continent as “East Africa”.

If this issue was the other way around and a Republican president would not release his birth certificate the same outcome would have been likely, Dems demanding the birth certificate.
The difference here is that when your name is Barack Hussein Obama it seems like there might be a chance you aren’t an American.
Do you not agree that the name is what caused the initial questions? To me, if someone name Barack Hussein Obama is elected president of the US there is nothing wrong with wanting his birth certificate.
And the real question, why not just show it?? It’s like an older brother holding the ball so high to where the little brother just jumps and jumps but cant reach it.

I think there’s more than just a degree to that. Racism can sometimes be quite sub-conscious, in my opinion, not in the case of the birthers we see here, or in George W’s case, but I think it certainly explains the unprecedented animosity we see — I am constantly surprised at people who I thought were rational (usually older folks) who really go off on Obama for really no reason, they really can’t explain why they don’t like him, alot of times, the only explanation they can give is “just because.”

Woodstock Mike — “If this issue was the other way around and a Republican president would not release his birth certificate the same outcome would have been likely, Dems demanding the birth certificate.”
I think it’s pretty disingenuous of you to claim what the your political opposition *would* do, when the issue is pretty clearly what your political compatriots *have* done. Way to take responsibility.
“The difference here is that when your name is Barack Hussein Obama it seems like there might be a chance you aren’t an American.”
Really? Why? Because he’s got a funny name? My forebears had funny Polish and Russian names. They gave funny Polish and Russian names to their kids, who were born here and were legally Americans. Did their names make them any *less* American?
“Do you not agree that the name is what caused the initial questions?”
Nope. I think it’s just a handy foil.
“To me, if someone name Barack Hussein Obama is elected president of the US there is nothing wrong with wanting his birth certificate.”
And if the Governor of the state in which he was born says ‘hey, I’ve seen the BC and it’s real, so move on,’ would that be enough for you, especially if the Governor was a Republican?
“And the real question, why not just show it??”
Because a sitting Governor said it was real and valid, and under the Full Faith and Credit Clause, all other states are legally bound to respect that. Why isn’t the word of a sitting Republican governor good enough for you? Why is President Obama subjected to a higher standard of proof than anyone else?
“It’s like an older brother holding the ball so high to where the little brother just jumps and jumps but cant reach it.”
I have no idea what you are saying here.
“If he was aware of the issue why not show it from the get go?? Seems ridiculous…”
It certainly does seem ridiculous that two years after Governor Lingle verified the document that y’all are still agitating for it.

Who actually acted like a stubborn little child? Obama or the birthers. I would say Obama because he could have put this to bed years ago but didn’t. Tying the GOP to this is disingenuous at best because one of the democrat’s faithful Chris Matthews has howled about it too. What you ignore though Jay is that why is it every time someone of conservative origins appears on a talk show or talk radio this is a question that’s asked? Most Americans could care less. The attention should be solely focused on defeating Obama anyway. Every left wing pundit asks if they will denounce those that howl for a birth certificate. I ask will the democrat party denounce every loon that uses violence and violent rhetoric to try and get their point across. Code Pink, Unions, Black Panthers, Jeremiah Wright… I could go on and on… This is part of the democrat base….

I saw ron paul interviewed last night, now there’s a politician who tells it like it is, ron paul makes some great points, no doubt about it…

I get that, Mick. Even with the war spending, Bush added about $500 billion per year to the debt in non-recession years (through FY2007). 2008 was $1 trillion including wars and TARP.
Now Obozo is adding $1.5 trillion or so every year. Unacceptable.
Change.

If Obama is entitled to demand that I, and other hardworking Americans, pony up more and more tax dollars for his ridiculous liberal government schemes and out-of-control spending, I guess we have the right to demand to see his credentials, including his birth certificate. This is, after all, the self-proclaimed “most transparent administration in history.”

“It wasn’t until after he was martyred that they gave in to the loving legend…”
You mean the serial philandering, militarily incompetent, wouldn’t have been President if Daley hadn’t found a few thousand dead people to vote for him legend?
That legend?
