On tonight’s Travelin’ Music, Justin Bieber … NOT!
When I heard that some unknown jazz newcomer had beaten out the hyperpopular Justin Bieber as Best New Artist at the Grammys last weekend, I was intrigued.
When I learned that the artist in question, Esperanza Spalding, played a stand-up bass — my favorite jazz instrument — and also sang — I love female vocalists — well, it wasn’t hard to pick this week’s kickoff tune for Travelin’ Music.
Here is Miss Spalding performing in a recent tribute to Stevie Wonder at the White House. (I don’t believe I’ve ever featured Stevie, which is a terrible injustice to the man that I’ll have to correct soon.)

The car is GOOD. I smoked a M3 on Monday. Guy pulled up to me in an electric blue M3 at the light on Freedom Pkwy to I75/85S and started revving his engine. The light turned green…when I was pulling onto I75 he was no where to be seen. I’m so going to get a ticket soon.

0311….what is the concern with the Iranian warships going thru the Suez Canal? Maybe you know more about it than me, but those types of ships are easily dealt with in these modern times. 2 cruise missiles and done. I think it’s just the issue of Egypt allowing them access to Israel via the Med.

Oh…I have no illusions…the sign in quite small…and it is mounted on on a brass plaque on both the retaining wall at the front steps and on the front porch after they have climbed 19 steps to get there. I just like to point out the repercussions of their ignoring the plaque at the retaining wall before they climbed the stairs and I shut the door in their face. It’s especially satisfying in the summer.
