A little holiday travelin’ dance number

A lot of families have their own holiday traditions, the little “inside jokes” that family members enjoy but that outsiders aren’t likely to comprehend. Unless you share family memories and relationships, you just can’t appreciate why it’s significant.

For example, one of the annual highlights of the Bookman family holiday reunion involves slipping good ol’ Uncle Nat a little too much eggnog (his favorite), to the point that he finally agrees to perform his famous Bookman Bounce.

It kills the room, every time. So I’d thought I’d share:

Thanks. Nice tune.

Jay,

Been so long since I saw that show, I had forgotten all about Nat Bookman.

This has become one of my favorite Christmas songs, in recent years. Quite a few people have done it but these guys wrote it and I prefer this version. The music starts about the 1:00 mark.

a coupla three years ago I was shopping at Sal’s Men’s Wear (Salvation Army Thrift Store on Marietta) and I came upon a locally produced Christmas CD featuring the likes of Sean Mullins, Stevie T(ombstone), Doll Squad, The Ottoman Empire, etc. Most of the artists performed Christmas standards like Blue Christmas, Christmas Baby, please come home, and a surf-guitar version of the Nutcracker Suite called “Nutrocker” by the Surside Seven. But the most awesomest track on the disk is the Big Fish Ensamble’s cover of The Christmas Song from the Who’s “Tommy”. wish I knew had to rip/burn the CD.
