Voters unhappy with Obama; white voters would take Palin over him

From the new Quinnipiac poll:

“President Barack Obama does not deserve a second term, American voters say 49 – 43 percent, and he is in a statistical dead heat with possible Republican challengers Mitt Romney and Mike Huckabee, according to a Quinnipiac University poll released today. President Obama leads Sarah Palin 48-40 percent….

In a mythical Republican primary Ms. Palin gets 19 percent, including 25 percent of GOP women, followed by Romney with 18 percent, Huckabee at 17 percent, Gingrich at 15 percent, Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty at 6 percent and Daniels, Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour and Sen. John Thune of South Dakota at 2 percent each.”

Peter A. Brown, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Polling Institute, points out that although Palin is leading the Republican field, “she is very unpopular among independents and although she recently said she thought she could defeat Obama, the data does not now necessarily support that assertion.” Palin is viewed unfavorably by 51 percent of voters overall and 54 percent of independents.

The problem, however, is that 74 percent of Republicans view Palin favorably, the highest favorability of any GOP candidates tested. Only 17 percent of Republicans view her unfavorably, suggesting that the nomination may be within her reach even if the presidency is not.

The details of the poll are also revealing:

obama

Palin outpolls Obama among white voters by 47-41 percent. Among male voters, the two candidates would be tied 44-44. Among voters aged 35-54, Palin would lose by only 1 percentage point, and she would win by 2 percentage points among voters with incomes of more than $100,000.

Really.

I hope that people in this nation can REALLY see how empty Sarah Palin and the GOP really are!! I’m willing to wager during the next election cycle that NO Republican candidate would come into the CITY of Atlanta, ask for minority votes….and run on a platform that would be condusive to attracting minority voters. All I consistently hear is fear-mongering from the GOP…and particularly Sarah Palin!!

Halfhearted Soul-Searching at the White House
Unlike Bill Clinton, Obama hasn’t yet experienced a political loss that taught him how to reinvent himself. He needs to surround himself with advisers who will challenge his world view.

http://www.newsweek.com/2010/11/19/the-problem-with-the-cult-of-obama.html

Eleanor Clift, the author, is hardly a conservative. Dems are in for a world of hurt. Obama is adrift and running out of time to set a course to put him in a position to win in 2012.

Deep Throat, please do some research and find the number of bills Mr. Oabama pushed with tax cuts for samall businesses, more lending for small businesses and tax cuts for businesses who hire. You will be amazed that thses bills were passed in one house but died before they could reached the floor of the other house, or they were fillibustered or the threat of a fillibuster was presented by the oposition party. Remember Rush Limbaugh saying he wish the president fails, and the Republicans have been carrying Rush’s water since inauguration day. Contrary to popular belief the president is not a dictator, and ours is a republic with all the trappings of a senate, due to the fillibuster rule, merely requiring only one senator who can derail almost anything if it benefits that senator’s party event to the detriment of the American people and the economy.

Though he’s portrayed as a liberal, it’s not clear what he’ll fight for, and he keeps that deliberately vague, perhaps hoping to deliver on the post-partisan promise his election represented. The fight over whether to extend Bush-era tax cuts is a perfect example. The White House needs to settle on a strategy and then execute it, whatever it is. Hope is not a strategy, and the extent to which Obama seems to weigh the political considerations of whatever decision he makes reinforces the voters’ disillusionment that rather than leading, he has instead become part of the government—an implicit admission of his failure to bring about the change he ran on.

If anyone’s playing the race card, it’s the right. Always claiming people voted for him “just because he’s black,” continuing to bring up fake anti-white scandals, accusing the left of voter tampering, feeling oppressed in any way they possibly can…. all this is a political game and a strategy to get people to vote because they are ANGRY at anyone who is not their race! I guess they figured it wasn’t enough to use the evil L-word, LIBERAL! Now they have to use the R-word, RACIST (especially in cases when it cannot logically apply).

Obama and his far left policies have certainly been frowned upon by most of the informed electorate. He is leading us down a path that the majority of Americans don’t want to go. Excessive spending, more entitlements, higher taxes, weak leadership, and a forced takeover of health care just don’t go over well with the folks. He is certainly on a collision course for defeat no matter who the Republican nominee is. He has certainly proven that on the job training is not a good idea in leading the most powerful country the world has ever known. It could be Palin, Gingrich, Pawlenty, Romney, or Huckabee. They would all defeat him because of his policies and glaring lack of leadership. Gingrich would mop the floor in a debate obviously because he would be the Republicans most cerebral candidate. Obama basically sticks to talking points if he don’t have a teleprompter to tell him what to say and that would hurt him if he went up against someone who would challenge his points with divisiveness.

Joe 1:56 – I assume you’re kidding. Rubio is a neophyte next to Biden.

I don’t thin Rubio will be on the ticket as much as people might want him to be for a variety of reasons. I think a woman (not Palin) or another person with more experience and heft will be in the VP slot.

Rubio’s pretty smart. But not ready for prime time yet.

vinny and deep throat

You are both the reason the country is like it is no brains!!

All your party and Palin is hatred in your hearts.
She is a racist fear mongering low class person.
I’d rather have President Obama who is so intelligient, classy,
and patient, than any Republican Tea Party losers.
You are all insecure about Obama because he is way far above
you and your party. Palin is a very jealous, racist, scared woman.

If we get to the point where are Presidential candidates have kids on ‘DWTS’ and their own reality shows, we are in trouble as a nation.

If we Palin is even considered a “Presidential Candidate” in 2012, I’m going to start believing the Mayans knew exactly what they were talking about with thier predicitions to the end of our world.

Here’s the reality. Obama and his dumocrats have lied form day 1- no transparency, no CSPAN, Reed- emboldening the enemy (the war is lost) Pelosi-” in order to see what is in the bill you first must pass the bill.” What a Car salesman she is. In order to test drive the car, you must first, BUY the car. Cap and Tax, the $13 a week stimulus allowance. yet they spend billions on how a fly sticks to the ceiling and what makes a musician improvise. They create no jobs yet increase the unemp. bene’s. If these idiots had any brains at all, they’d have SBA money set aside for those wanting to start a business and hire people. They’d also have tax credits for companies that can create new energy sources cheaper than oil and hire people. Allow drilling anywhere and everywhere. no one is going on vacation-they have no moeny. So let’s make gas less expensive. And where is obama’s birth certificate from Kenya where he really was born? The first president to declare that the US is a muslim nation. He is now worse than Jimmy. And the only shovel ready jobs are in the livestock barn. Senators decide NOTHING by themselves- it is a group decision. As for the Dems claiming Punch hsi pilot- they are full of themselves. Governors and mayors make decisions on their own. NOT Community organizers and Preachers. And what does Mr. Organizer do? Fly away on trips to bow at Muslim Kings and play basketball. And all you people do is cry Racism. No it is FACT ism!

Race baiting again… Headline: “Voters unhappy with Obama; white voters would take Palin over him”. You made that the headline because 47% to 41% of whites would pick Palin? What about the 91% of blacks that would vote for Obama? Why didn’t you mention that?

Not to belabor the point, but after 2004, it is obvious that the chances of an incumbent defeat in 2012 are based on the final opposition.

Based on enormous, serial failures, there was NO way on earth that GWB should have remained the occupier of the West Wing, yet….

You personally may not care…but the political party you support DOES care!! Note how voters got rid of Supreme Court justices for following the Equal Protection statute of Iowa state law when making the prohibitions on gay marriage unconstitutional!! Note how Sen-elect Rand Paul wanted to overturn the Civil Rights Act of 1964!! SB1070 in Arizona is just another way to show hostility!!

GOP has to change…and be able to ATTRACT new demographics…..not antagonize them!!

The problem, however, is that 74 percent of Republicans view Palin favorably, the highest favorability of any GOP candidates tested. Only 17 percent of Republicans view her unfavorably, suggesting that the nomination may be within her reach even if the presidency is not.

Jay, I view her favorably, but I would NEVER vote for her in an election. That blows your editorial all to hell, doesn’t it?
